भारत का पहला B2B क्रिप्टो ट्रेडिंग एक्सचेंज DigitX लॉन्च हुआ

• DigitX, भारत का पहला बिजनेस-टू-बिजनेस (B2B) क्रिप्टोक्यूरेंसी ट्रेडिंग एक्सचेंज है, जिसने अपना व्यापारिक संचालन शुरू किया।
• DigitX का उद्देश्य अपने निवेशकों और क्रिप्टोक्यूरेंसी के व्यापारियों में विश्वास और विश्वास पैदा करने के लिए अपनी तरह की उद्योग पहल में विश्वसनीय लिंक के अपने नेटवर्क के साथ पारदर्शी और सुरक्षित मॉडल प्रदान करना है।

• इस वेबसाइट का मुख्य उद्देश्य भारत के सबसे होनहार स्टार्टअप्स का भंडार बनाना है, जिन्होंने अपनी क्षमताओं को साबित किया है, जैसे कि फिनटेक, एंटरप्राइज टेक, सोशल इफेक्ट, हेल्थटेक और एडटेक जैसे क्षेत्रों में।
• सूचीबद्ध फर्मों को सरकार या कॉर्पोरेट खरीदारों द्वारा वस्तुओं या सेवाओं के संभावित आपूर्तिकर्ताओं के रूप में भी माना जाएगा।
• वेबसाइट पर उल्लिखित स्टार्टअप विशेषज्ञों द्वारा नियंत्रित किया जाएगा, और कई स्क्रीनिंग और मूल्यांकन दौर से गुजरेंगे,
• प्रत्येक स्टार्टअप का अपना प्रोफाइल पेज होगा, जिसमें उसके उत्पाद और नवाचार के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी होगी, साथ ही वीडियो और पीडीएफ लिंक भी होंगे।

 रूस ने सफलतापूर्वक ’Tsircon' हाइपरसोनिक मिसाइल का परीक्षण-प्रक्षेपण किया

• रूस ने उत्तर-पश्चिमी रूस के पानी में अपनी अत्यधिक टोंडेड हाइपरसोनिक क्रूज़ मिसाइल को Tsirkon नाम से सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया है।
• मिसाइल ने मच 8 से अधिक की हाइपरसोनिक गति और साढ़े 28 किलोमीटर की अधिकतम ऊंचाई पर साढ़े चार मिनट की यात्रा की।

 बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

विश्व बैंक की रिपोर्ट में वित्त वर्ष २०११ में भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था को ९ .६% करार दिया गया है

• भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था को चालू वित्त वर्ष (2020-21) में 9.6 प्रतिशत की दर से अनुबंध की उम्मीद है क्योंकि C-19 महामारी के कारण, विश्व बैंक ने 8 अक्टूबर, 2020 को कहा था। भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था दक्षिण एशिया में सबसे बड़ी है।
• विश्व बैंक ने अपने क्षेत्रीय क्षेत्रीय अद्यतन में कहा है कि दक्षिण एशिया इस क्षेत्र की अर्थव्यवस्था पर सी -19 के विनाशकारी प्रभावों के रूप में अपनी सबसे खराब मंदी में डूबने के लिए तैयार है। यह अनौपचारिक श्रमिकों पर एक टोल लेगा और दक्षिण एशिया में लाखों लोगों को अत्यधिक गरीबी में धकेल देगा।
• विश्व बैंक की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, पिछले पांच वर्षों में 6 प्रतिशत सालाना की टॉपिंग के बाद 2020 में दक्षिण एशिया की क्षेत्रीय वृद्धि में 7.7 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि की संभावना है। हालाँकि, क्षेत्रीय विकास 2021 में 4.5 प्रतिशत प्रतिपूर्ति करने का अनुमान है।
• क्षेत्र में आय-प्रति-व्यक्ति 2019 के अनुमान से 6 प्रतिशत नीचे रहेगी, जनसंख्या में वृद्धि। यह इंगित करता है कि अपेक्षित पलटाव महामारी से होने वाली स्थायी आर्थिक क्षति की भरपाई नहीं करेगा।

 पीएम SVANidh और एसबीआई पोर्टल के बीच API एकीकरण का शुभारंभ 

• ऋण आवेदनों की प्रक्रिया को आसान बनाने के उद्देश्य से, हाउसिंग एंड अर्बन अफेयर्स सेक्रेटरी दुर्गा शंकर मिश्रा ने एप्लिकेशन प्रोग्रामिंग इंटरफेस (एपीआई), पीएम एसवीएनिधि पोर्टल और भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) पोर्टल के बीच एकीकरण शुरू किया है।

साहित्य 2020 में नोबेल पुरस्कार की घोषणा 

• 2020 के लिए साहित्य का नोबेल पुरस्कार अमेरिकी कवि लुईस ग्लूक को "उनकी अचूक काव्य आवाज के लिए दिया गया है, जो कि सुंदरता के साथ व्यक्तिगत अस्तित्व को सार्वभौमिक बनाता है"।
• साहित्य में नोबेल पुरस्कार स्वीडिश अकादमी, स्टॉकहोम, स्वीडन द्वारा प्रदान किया जाता है।

 शोक संदेश

केंद्रीय मंत्री रामविलास पासवान का निधन

• केंद्रीय उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री, राम विलास पासवान का निधन। उनका जन्म 5 जुलाई 1946 को हुआ था। वह लोक जनशक्ति पार्टी के अध्यक्ष और वर्तमान राज्यसभा सांसद भी थे।
• आठ बार के लोकसभा सांसद, पासवान इंदिरा गांधी के कार्यकाल में जेल गए जब देश में आपातकाल लगाया गया था। उन्होंने अपने राजनीतिक जीवन की शुरुआत संयुक्ता सोशलिस्ट पार्टी के सदस्य के रूप में की और 1969 में बिहार विधानसभा के सदस्य बने।

 पूर्व सीबीआई निदेशक अश्विनी कुमार  का निधन

• मणिपुर और नागालैंड के पूर्व राज्यपाल और पूर्व सीबीआई निदेशक अश्विनी कुमार का निधन।
• उनका जन्म सिरमौर जिले के नाहन में हुआ था और 1973 में भारतीय पुलिस बल में शामिल हुए थे।
• मार्च 2013 से जुलाई 2014 तक, उन्होंने नागालैंड के राज्यपाल के रूप में कार्य किया और कुछ समय के लिए मणिपुर के राज्यपाल का अतिरिक्त प्रभार भी संभाला।

एम  राजेश्वर राव को आरबीआई का नया डिप्टी गवर्नर नियुक्त किया गया

• मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति ने एम राजेश्वर राव को भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) का डिप्टी गवर्नर नियुक्त किया।
• वर्तमान में, बीपी कानूनगो, एमके जैन और मिचेल पात्रा डिप्टी गवर्नर हैं। चौथे डिप्टी गवर्नर के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण करेंगे। मार्च में एन एस विश्वनाथन के स्वास्थ्य कारणों का हवाला देते हुए पद खाली हो गया, क्योंकि उनका कार्यकाल समाप्त होने से ठीक पहले था।
• इससे पहले, वह वित्तीय बाजारों के संचालन विभाग के मुख्य महाप्रबंधक थे।

 जे वेंकटरमू  इंडिया पोस्ट पेमेंट्स बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ नियुक्त किए गए

• जे वेंकटरमू को इंडिया पोस्ट पेमेंट्स बैंक (आईपीपीबी) का प्रबंध निदेशक और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी नियुक्त किया गया है। वह सुरेश सेठी को सफल करेंगे, जिन्होंने मार्च 2020 तक इस पद की सेवा की।
• वेंकटरामुसी वर्तमान में इक्विटास स्मॉल फाइनेंस बैंक में मुख्य डिजिटल अधिकारी के रूप में काम कर रहे हैं। उन्हें तीन साल की अवधि के लिए आईपीपीबी के एमडी और सीईओ के पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा  विश्व जल विकास रिपोर्ट २०२० जारी

• विश्व जल विकास रिपोर्ट 2020 और संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा जारी PCRWR भूजल जांच और मानचित्रण रिपोर्ट।
• 2001 और 2018 के बीच सभी प्राकृतिक आपदाओं का लगभग 74% पानी से संबंधित था और पिछले 20 वर्षों के दौरान।
• बाढ़ से 2030 तक हर साल दक्षिण एशिया में 215 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर की लागत आ सकती है
• वैश्विक बाढ़ और अत्यधिक वर्षा की घटनाओं में इस दशक में 50% से अधिक की वृद्धि हुई है, और अब 1980 की तुलना में चार गुना अधिक दर पर हो रही है।

India’s first B2B Crypto trading exchange DigitX launched

• DigitX, India’s first business-to-business (B2B) cryptocurrency trading exchange, began its trading operations.
• DigiX aims to deliver transparent and secure model with its network of trusted links in a first of its kind industry initiative to instill trust and confidence in its investors and traders of cryptocurrency.

Government launches online startup discovery platform ‘Startup India Showcase’

• To further give boost to the Indian startups, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has launched an online discovery platform for startups called “Startup India Showcase”.
• The main aim of this website is to make a repository of India’s most promising startups that have proved their capabilities, from across sectors such as fintech, enterprise tech, social impact, healthtech, and edtech, among others.
• The listed firms will also be considered by the government and corporate buyers as potential suppliers of goods or services.
• The startups mentioned on the website will be handpicked by experts, and will go through multiple screening and evaluation rounds,
• Each startup will have its own profile page, with a detailed information about its product and innovation, as well as video and PDF links.

Russia Successfully Test-Launches ‘Tsirkon’ Hypersonic Missile

• Russia has successfully test-fired its highly touted hypersonic cruise missile called Tsirkon in the waters of northwestern Russia.
• The missile traveled four and a half minutes at the hypersonic speed of more than Mach 8 and a maximum altitude of 28 kilometers.

 Banking and Economy

World Bank report states India's Economy to contract by 9.6% in FY21

• India's economy is expected to contract by 9.6 per cent in the current fiscal year (2020-21) because of C-19 pandemic, the World Bank said on October 8, 2020. India's economy is the largest in South Asia.
• The World Bank in its biannual regional update stated that South Asia is set to plunge into its worst-ever recession as the devastating impacts of C-19 on the region's economies linger on. This would take a toll on the informal workers and push millions into extreme poverty in South Asia.
• As per the World Bank report, the regional growth of South Asia is expected to contract by 7.7 per cent in 2020 after topping 6 per cent annually in the past five years. However, the regional growth is projected to rebound to 4.5 per cent in 2021.
• The income-per-capita in the region will remain 6 per cent below 2019 estimates, factoring growth in population. This indicates that the expected rebound will not offset the lasting economic damage caused by the pandemic.

 API integration between PM SVANidhi and SBI portal launched

With an aim to ease processing of loan applications, the Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra has initiated the Application Programming Interface (API), integration between the PM SVANidhi Portal and the State Bank of India (SBI) portal.

Nobel Prize in Literature 2020 announced

• The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2020 is awarded to the American poet Louise Glück “for her unmistakable poetic voice that with austere beauty makes individual existence universal”.
• The Nobel Prize in Literature is awarded by The Swedish Academy, Stockholm, Sweden.

Obituary

Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan passes away

• Union minister of consumer affairs, food and public distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan passed away. He was born on 5 July 1946. He was also the president of the Lok Janshakti Party and current Rajya Sabha MP.
• An eight-time Lok Sabha MP, Paswan went to jail during Indira Gandhi’s tenure when an emergency was imposed in the country. He began his political career as a member of the Samyukta Socialist Party and in 1969 became a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

Former CBI director Ashwani Kumar passes away

• Ashwani Kumar, former Governor of Manipur and Nagaland, and ex-CBI Director passed away.
• He was born at Nahan in Sirmaur district and joined the Indian Police Force in 1973.
• From March 2013 to July 2014, he served as the Governor of Nagaland and also held the additional charge of Governor of Manipur for some time.

 Appointments and Resignations

Govt appoints M Rajeshwar Rao as new deputy governor of RBI

• The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet appointed M Rajeshwar Rao as the deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
• Currently, BP Kanungo, MK Jain and Micheal Patra are the deputy governors.Rao will take charge as the fourth deputy governor. The post became vacant after N S Vishwanathan demitted office in March citing health reasons just before his tenure was to end.
• Prior to this, he was the chief general manager of the financial markets operations department.

J Venkatramu appointed MD and CEO of India Post Payments Bank

• J Venkatramu has been appointed the managing director and chief executive officer of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). He will succeed Suresh Sethi, who served the post till March 2020.
• Venkatramuis presently working as the chief digital officer in Equitas Small Finance Bank. He has been appointed to the post of MD and CEO of IPPB for a period of three years.

World Water Development Report 2020 released by United Nations

• The World Water Development Report 2020 and PCRWR Groundwater Investigation and Mapping report released by the United Nations.
• Around 74% of all-natural disasters between 2001 and 2018 were water-related and during the past 20 years.
• Floods could cost South Asia as much as US$215 billion each year by 2030
• Global floods and extreme rainfall events have increased by more than 50% this decade, and are now occurring at a rate four times higher than in 1980.
