  • राज्य के उच्च शिक्षा मंत्री सी एन अश्वथ नारायण ने दावा किया कि कर्नाटक राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति-2020 के कार्यान्वयन के संबंध में आदेश जारी करने वाला देश का पहला राज्य बन गया है।
  • राज्य सरकार ने चालू शैक्षणिक वर्ष 2021-2022 से एनईपी-2020 के क्रियान्वयन पर शनिवार को एक आदेश जारी किया है।

भारत-यूएई नौसेना ने द्विपक्षीय नौसैनिक अभ्यास 'जायेद तलवार 2021' का आयोजन किया

  • भारतीय नौसेना और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात की नौसेना ने 07 अगस्त, 2021 को अबू धाबी के तट पर द्विपक्षीय नौसैनिक अभ्यास 'ज़ायेद तलवार 2021' का आयोजन किया। जायद तलवार 2021' नौसैनिक अभ्यास का मुख्य उद्देश्य दोनों नौसेनाओं के बीच अंतःक्रियाशीलता और तालमेल को बढ़ाना था।
  • भारतीय नौसेना ने फारस की खाड़ी में तैनात दो इंटीग्रल सी किंग एमके 42बी हेलीकॉप्टरों के साथ आईएनएस कोच्चि के साथ भाग लिया। संयुक्त अरब अमीरात से, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात एएल - धफरा, एक बायनुना श्रेणी निर्देशित मिसाइल कार्वेट और एक एएस - 565 बी पैंथर हेलीकॉप्टर ने अभ्यास में भाग लिया।

  • भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (बीसीसीआई) ने 07 अगस्त को स्टार भाला फेंक खिलाड़ी नीरज चोपड़ा के लिए चल रहे टोक्यो ओलंपिक में ऐतिहासिक स्वर्ण पदक जीतने के बाद 1 करोड़ रुपये नकद इनाम की घोषणा की। बीसीसीआई के उपाध्यक्ष राजीव शुक्ला ने भारत के इक्का-दुक्का भाला फेंकने वाले को बधाई दी और कहा, “यह भारतीय खेलों के लिए एक महान दिन है क्योंकि नीरज चोपड़ा ने भारत के लिए स्वर्ण पदक जीता था।

  • नीरज चोपड़ा ने टोक्यो ओलंपिक में भाला फेंक स्पर्धा में भारत के लिए स्वर्ण पदक जीता है। नीरज ने अपने पहले प्रयास में 87.03 मीटर के थ्रो के साथ प्रतियोगिता को समाप्त कर दिया। अपने दूसरे में उन्होंने इसे 87.58 मीटर तक सुधारा और यह गोल्डन थ्रो निकला। 86.67 मीटर फेंकने वाले चेक गणराज्य के विटेज़लव वेस्ले को छोड़कर, विश्व चैंपियन जोहानिस वेटर सहित उनका कोई भी प्रतिद्वंद्वी रास्ते से नहीं गिरा।

  • भारतीय पहलवान बजरंग पुनिया ने पुरुषों की फ्रीस्टाइल 65 किग्रा वर्ग में कजाकिस्तान के दौलत नियाज़बेकोव पर 8-0 से जीत के बाद ओलंपिक कुश्ती कांस्य पदक मैच जीता है।
  • केडी जाधव, सुशील कुमार, योगेश्वर दत्त, साक्षी मलिक और रवि कुमार दहिया के बाद पुनिया ओलंपिक पोडियम पर समाप्त होने वाले छठे भारतीय पहलवान बने। 2012 के लंदन ओलंपिक के बाद यह दूसरा मौका है जब दो भारतीय पहलवानों ने एक ही खेलों में पदक जीते।

  • टोक्यो ओलंपिक 2020 08 अगस्त, 2021 को समाप्त हुआ। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बहु-खेल आयोजन 23 जुलाई से 08 अगस्त, 2021 तक टोक्यो, जापान में आयोजित किया गया था। टोक्यो 1964 (ग्रीष्मकालीन), साप्पोरो 1972 (शीतकालीन) और नागानो 1998 (शीतकालीन) खेलों की मेजबानी करने के बाद, यह चौथी बार था जब जापान ने ओलंपिक खेलों की मेजबानी की। इसके अलावा दो बार ग्रीष्मकालीन खेलों का आयोजन करने वाला टोक्यो पहला एशियाई शहर है।

उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री ने वंदना कटारिया को बनाया ब्रांड एंबेसडर

  • उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने टीम इंडिया की हॉकी खिलाड़ी वंदना कटारिया को राज्य के महिला अधिकारिता एवं बाल विकास विभाग का ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त किया है।
  • रविवार को तिलू रौतेली पुरस्कार और आंगनवाड़ी कार्यकर्ता पुरस्कार प्राप्त करने वालों को सम्मानित करने के लिए आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में यह घोषणा की गई। यह कार्यक्रम सर्वे चौक स्थित आईआरडीटी सभागार में आयोजित किया गया।
  • सीएम धामी ने आगे कहा कि उपरोक्त पुरस्कारों के लिए पुरस्कार राशि अगले वर्ष से 31,000 रुपये से बढ़ाकर 51,000 रुपये कर दी जाएगी।

विश्व के स्वदेशी लोगों का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस 2021: 9 अगस्त

  • संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष 09 अगस्त को विश्व भर के स्वदेशी लोगों का अंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह दिन विश्‍व की स्वदेशी आबादी के अधिकारों की रक्षा करने और उन उपलब्धियों और योगदानों को सम्मानित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है जो स्वदेशी लोग पर्यावरण संरक्षण जैसे वैश्विक मुद्दों को सुधारने के लिए करते हैं। 2021 का थीम है "कोई छूटे ना: स्वदेशी लोग और एक नए सामाजिक अनुबंध का आह्वान”
  • इस दिन को संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा दिसंबर 1994 में मान्यता दी गई थी। यह दिन 1982 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र में स्वदेशी आबादी पर कार्य समूह के उद्घाटन सत्र के दिन को चिह्नित करने की तिथि है।

 नागासाकी दिवस 2021: 9 अगस्त

  • जापान प्रतिवर्ष 9 अगस्त को नागासाकी दिवस के रूप में मनाता है। 9 अगस्त 1945 को अमेरिका ने जापान के नागासाकी पर परमाणु बम गिराया था। बम के डिजाइन के कारण इसका कोड-नाम "फैट मैन" रखा गया था क्योंकि इसका आकार चौड़ा, गोल था। यह हिरोशिमा पर परमाणु बम गिराने के 3 दिन बाद हुआ।
  • लगभग 5 वर्ग मील का क्षेत्र पूरी तरह से नष्ट हो गया और बमबारी में लगभग 65,000 लोग मारे गए। नागासाकी और हिरोशिमा आज भी विनाशकारी बमबारी के प्रभाव को आज भी महसूस करते हैं।

 8 अगस्त 2021 को राष्ट्र ने भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन की 79वीं वर्षगांठ मनाई

  • अगस्त क्रांति दिवस या भारत छोड़ो आंदोल) की 79वीं वर्षगांठ, जिसे हमारे देश के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के इतिहास में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर माना जाता है, 8 अगस्त 2021 को मनाया जा रहा है। 8 अगस्त 1942 को महात्मा गांधी ने ब्रिटिश शासन को समाप्त करने का आह्वान किया और मुंबई में अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी के सत्र में भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन शुरू किया।
  • क्रिप्स मिशन की विफलता के बाद, गांधीजी ने मुंबई के गोवालिया टैंक मैदान में दिए गए अपने भारत छोड़ो भाषण में "करो या मरो" का आह्वान किया। कृतज्ञ देश स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित कर रहा है और स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के दौरान शहीदों के सर्वोच्च बलिदान को याद कर रहा है।

Karnataka becomes first state to issue order implementing NEP-2020

  • Karnataka has become the first state in the country to issue the order with regard to the implementation of National Education Policy-2020, State Higher Education Minister C N Ashwath Narayan claimed.
  • The state government has issued an order on Saturday on the implementation of NEP-2020 with effect from the current academic year 2021-2022.

India-UAE Navy conducted the bilateral naval exercise ‘Zayed Talwar 2021’

  • The Indian Navy and UAE Navy conducted the bilateral naval exercise ‘Zayed Talwar 2021’ on August 07, 2021, off the coast of Abu Dhabi. The main objective of the ‘Zayed Talwar 2021’ naval exercise was to enhance interoperability and synergy between the two navies.
  • Indian Navy participated with INS Kochi, with two integral Sea King MK 42B helicopters, deployed in the Persian Gulf. From UAE, UAES AL – Dhafra, a Baynunah class guided missile corvette and one AS – 565B Panther helicopter took part in the exercise.

BCCI announced cash reward for medal winners

  • The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on August 07 announced Rs 1 crore cash reward for star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra after his historic gold medal-winning feat in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. The Vice-President of BCCI Rajeev Shukla congratulated India’s ace javelin thrower and said, “It’s a great day for Indian sports as Neeraj Chopra bagged the gold for India.
  • He has put in his best efforts. If you look at the facilities we haven’t got the kind of facilities which the other countries have got. Still sports persons trying their level best. BCCI on this occasion has announced Rs 1 crore for Neeraj Chopra who has brought the gold medal for India and other athletes to.”

Tokyo Olympics 2020: Neeraj Chopra won Olympic gold medal in Javelin throw

  • Neeraj Chopra has won a Gold medal for India in the javelin throw event at Tokyo Olympics. With a throw of 87.03 metres in his first attempt, Neeraj killed the competition. In his second he improved it to 87.58m and that turned out to be the golden throw. Except for Viteszalav Veslay of the Czech Republic who threw 86.67m none of his rivals including world champion Johannas Vetter fell by wayside.
  • This is India’s 7th medal at Tokyo 2020, the best ever medal haul for India at a single edition of the Games. Neeraj Chopra’s Gold is also India’s second-ever individual Gold medal at the Olympics, after Abhinav Bindra in Shooting.

Tokyo Olympics 2020: Bajrang Punia won Olympic wrestling bronze medal in wrestling

  • Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has won the Olympic wrestling bronze medal match after 8-0 win over Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan in the men’s freestyle 65kg category.
  • Punia became the sixth Indian wrestler to finish on the Olympic podium after KD Jadhav, Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, Sakshi Malik and Ravi Kumar Dahiya. This became the second instance after the 2012 London Olympics when two Indian wrestlers won medals in the same Games.

  • The Tokyo Olympics 2020 came to an end on August 08, 2021. The international multi-sport event was held from July 23 to August 08, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan. This was for the fourth time that Japan hosted the Olympic Games, after previously hosting the Tokyo 1964 (Summer), Sapporo 1972 (Winter), and Nagano 1998 (Winter) games. Apart from this, Tokyo is the first Asian city to hold the Summer Games twice.
  • The United States has topped the overall medal table with 113 medals, which includes 39 Gold, 41 Silver and 33 Bronze Medal.
  • Indian Contingent managed to win 7 medals comprising 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Medals. The country stood at the 48th position in the medal table out of 86 countries.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister named Vandana as brand ambassador

  • Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appointed Team India's hockey player Vandana Katariya as the brand ambassador of the state's Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development.
  • The announcement was made at a programme organized to felicitate the recipients of the Tilu Rauteli Award and the Anganwadi Workers Award on Sunday. This programme was held at the IRDT Auditorium at Survey Chowk.
  • CM Dhami further stated that the prize money for the aforementioned accolades will be doubled from Rs 31,000 to Rs 51,000 beginning next year.

International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples 2021: 9 August

  • United Nations observes the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples on 09th August every year. The day is being observed to protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population and recognize the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection. The theme for 2021 is “Leaving no one behind: Indigenous peoples and the call for a new social contract.”
  • The day was recognised by the General Assembly of the United Nations in December 1994. The date to marks the day of the inaugural session of the Working Group on Indigenous Populations at the United Nations in 1982.

 Nagasaki Day 2021: 9th August

  • Japan commemorates the 9th of August every year as Nagasaki day. On August 9, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan. It was code-named “Fat Man” due to the design of the bomb as it had a wide, round shape. This happened 3 days after dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
  • An area of about 5 square miles was completely obliterated and around 65,000 people were killed in the bombing. Nagasaki and Hiroshima continue to feel the impact of the destructive bombing even today.

Nation observes 79th anniversary of Quit India movement on 8 August 2021

  • The 79th anniversary of the August Kranti Din or Quit India Movement, which is considered as one of the important milestones in the history of the freedom struggle of our country, is being observed on 8 August 2021. On 8 Aug 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave a clarion call to end British rule and launched the Quit India Movement at the session of the All-India Congress Committee in Mumbai.
  • After the failure of Cripps Mission, Gandhiji gave the call to “Do or Die” in his Quit India speech delivered at the Gowalia Tank Maidan in Mumbai. The grateful country is paying homage to the freedom fighters and remembering the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs during the freedom struggle.

विश्व के स्वदेशी लोगों का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस 2021: 9 अगस्त

  • संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष 09 अगस्त को विश्व भर के स्वदेशी लोगों का अंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह दिन विश्‍व की स्वदेशी आबादी के अधिकारों की रक्षा करने और उन उपलब्धियों और योगदानों को सम्मानित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है जो स्वदेशी लोग पर्यावरण संरक्षण जैसे वैश्विक मुद्दों को सुधारने के लिए करते हैं। 2021 का थीम है "कोई छूटे ना: स्वदेशी लोग और एक नए सामाजिक अनुबंध का आह्वान”
  • इस दिन को संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा दिसंबर 1994 में मान्यता दी गई थी। यह दिन 1982 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र में स्वदेशी आबादी पर कार्य समूह के उद्घाटन सत्र के दिन को चिह्नित करने की तिथि है।

 नागासाकी दिवस 2021: 9 अगस्त

  • जापान प्रतिवर्ष 9 अगस्त को नागासाकी दिवस के रूप में मनाता है। 9 अगस्त 1945 को अमेरिका ने जापान के नागासाकी पर परमाणु बम गिराया था। बम के डिजाइन के कारण इसका कोड-नाम "फैट मैन" रखा गया था क्योंकि इसका आकार चौड़ा, गोल था। यह हिरोशिमा पर परमाणु बम गिराने के 3 दिन बाद हुआ।
  • लगभग 5 वर्ग मील का क्षेत्र पूरी तरह से नष्ट हो गया और बमबारी में लगभग 65,000 लोग मारे गए। नागासाकी और हिरोशिमा आज भी विनाशकारी बमबारी के प्रभाव को आज भी महसूस करते हैं।

 8 अगस्त 2021 को राष्ट्र ने भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन की 79वीं वर्षगांठ मनाई

  • अगस्त क्रांति दिवस या भारत छोड़ो आंदोल) की 79वीं वर्षगांठ, जिसे हमारे देश के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के इतिहास में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर माना जाता है, 8 अगस्त 2021 को मनाया जा रहा है। 8 अगस्त 1942 को महात्मा गांधी ने ब्रिटिश शासन को समाप्त करने का आह्वान किया और मुंबई में अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी के सत्र में भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन शुरू किया।
  • क्रिप्स मिशन की विफलता के बाद, गांधीजी ने मुंबई के गोवालिया टैंक मैदान में दिए गए अपने भारत छोड़ो भाषण में "करो या मरो" का आह्वान किया। कृतज्ञ देश स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित कर रहा है और स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के दौरान शहीदों के सर्वोच्च बलिदान को याद कर रहा है।

Karnataka becomes first state to issue order implementing NEP-2020

  • Karnataka has become the first state in the country to issue the order with regard to the implementation of National Education Policy-2020, State Higher Education Minister C N Ashwath Narayan claimed.
  • The state government has issued an order on Saturday on the implementation of NEP-2020 with effect from the current academic year 2021-2022.

India-UAE Navy conducted the bilateral naval exercise ‘Zayed Talwar 2021’

  • The Indian Navy and UAE Navy conducted the bilateral naval exercise ‘Zayed Talwar 2021’ on August 07, 2021, off the coast of Abu Dhabi. The main objective of the ‘Zayed Talwar 2021’ naval exercise was to enhance interoperability and synergy between the two navies.
  • Indian Navy participated with INS Kochi, with two integral Sea King MK 42B helicopters, deployed in the Persian Gulf. From UAE, UAES AL – Dhafra, a Baynunah class guided missile corvette and one AS – 565B Panther helicopter took part in the exercise.

BCCI announced cash reward for medal winners

  • The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on August 07 announced Rs 1 crore cash reward for star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra after his historic gold medal-winning feat in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. The Vice-President of BCCI Rajeev Shukla congratulated India’s ace javelin thrower and said, “It’s a great day for Indian sports as Neeraj Chopra bagged the gold for India.
  • He has put in his best efforts. If you look at the facilities we haven’t got the kind of facilities which the other countries have got. Still sports persons trying their level best. BCCI on this occasion has announced Rs 1 crore for Neeraj Chopra who has brought the gold medal for India and other athletes to.”

Tokyo Olympics 2020: Neeraj Chopra won Olympic gold medal in Javelin throw

  • Neeraj Chopra has won a Gold medal for India in the javelin throw event at Tokyo Olympics. With a throw of 87.03 metres in his first attempt, Neeraj killed the competition. In his second he improved it to 87.58m and that turned out to be the golden throw. Except for Viteszalav Veslay of the Czech Republic who threw 86.67m none of his rivals including world champion Johannas Vetter fell by wayside.
  • This is India’s 7th medal at Tokyo 2020, the best ever medal haul for India at a single edition of the Games. Neeraj Chopra’s Gold is also India’s second-ever individual Gold medal at the Olympics, after Abhinav Bindra in Shooting.

Tokyo Olympics 2020: Bajrang Punia won Olympic wrestling bronze medal in wrestling

  • Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has won the Olympic wrestling bronze medal match after 8-0 win over Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan in the men’s freestyle 65kg category.
  • Punia became the sixth Indian wrestler to finish on the Olympic podium after KD Jadhav, Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, Sakshi Malik and Ravi Kumar Dahiya. This became the second instance after the 2012 London Olympics when two Indian wrestlers won medals in the same Games.

  • The Tokyo Olympics 2020 came to an end on August 08, 2021. The international multi-sport event was held from July 23 to August 08, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan. This was for the fourth time that Japan hosted the Olympic Games, after previously hosting the Tokyo 1964 (Summer), Sapporo 1972 (Winter), and Nagano 1998 (Winter) games. Apart from this, Tokyo is the first Asian city to hold the Summer Games twice.
  • The United States has topped the overall medal table with 113 medals, which includes 39 Gold, 41 Silver and 33 Bronze Medal.
  • Indian Contingent managed to win 7 medals comprising 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Medals. The country stood at the 48th position in the medal table out of 86 countries.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister named Vandana as brand ambassador

  • Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appointed Team India's hockey player Vandana Katariya as the brand ambassador of the state's Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development.
  • The announcement was made at a programme organized to felicitate the recipients of the Tilu Rauteli Award and the Anganwadi Workers Award on Sunday. This programme was held at the IRDT Auditorium at Survey Chowk.
  • CM Dhami further stated that the prize money for the aforementioned accolades will be doubled from Rs 31,000 to Rs 51,000 beginning next year.

International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples 2021: 9 August

  • United Nations observes the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples on 09th August every year. The day is being observed to protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population and recognize the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection. The theme for 2021 is “Leaving no one behind: Indigenous peoples and the call for a new social contract.”
  • The day was recognised by the General Assembly of the United Nations in December 1994. The date to marks the day of the inaugural session of the Working Group on Indigenous Populations at the United Nations in 1982.

 Nagasaki Day 2021: 9th August

  • Japan commemorates the 9th of August every year as Nagasaki day. On August 9, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan. It was code-named “Fat Man” due to the design of the bomb as it had a wide, round shape. This happened 3 days after dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
  • An area of about 5 square miles was completely obliterated and around 65,000 people were killed in the bombing. Nagasaki and Hiroshima continue to feel the impact of the destructive bombing even today.

Nation observes 79th anniversary of Quit India movement on 8 August 2021

  • The 79th anniversary of the August Kranti Din or Quit India Movement, which is considered as one of the important milestones in the history of the freedom struggle of our country, is being observed on 8 August 2021. On 8 Aug 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave a clarion call to end British rule and launched the Quit India Movement at the session of the All-India Congress Committee in Mumbai.
  • After the failure of Cripps Mission, Gandhiji gave the call to “Do or Die” in his Quit India speech delivered at the Gowalia Tank Maidan in Mumbai. The grateful country is paying homage to the freedom fighters and remembering the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs during the freedom struggle.
