मूडीज ने करीब दो साल बाद भारत के रेटिंग आउटलुक को नेगेटिव से स्थिर किया

• रेटिंग एजेंसी मूडीज इन्वेस्टर्स सर्विस ने वित्तीय क्षेत्र में सुधार और सभी क्षेत्रों में तेजी से आर्थिक सुधार के बाद, 05 अक्टूबर, 2021 को भारत के सॉवरेन रेटिंग आउटलुक को 'नकारात्मक' से 'स्थिर' कर दिया है। मूडीज को उम्मीद है कि मध्यम अवधि में वास्तविक सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की वृद्धि औसतन लगभग 6 प्रतिशत होगी, जो स्थिति के सामान्य होने पर संभावित स्तरों पर गतिविधि में एक पलटाव को दर्शाता है।
• हालांकि इसने भारत की रेटिंग को Baa3 पर बरकरार रखा है, जो सबसे कम निवेश ग्रेड रेटिंग को दर्शाता है, मूडीज ने कहा कि उसे उम्मीद है कि वास्तविक जीडीपी इस साल 2019-20 के पूर्व-महामारी के स्तर को पार कर जाएगी, क्योंकि चल रही आर्थिक सुधार गतिविधियों में तेजी के साथ भाप उठा रही है। यह उम्मीद करता है कि 2021-22 में सकल घरेलू उत्पाद में 9.3% की वृद्धि दर्ज की जाएगी, इसके बाद अगले वर्ष 7.9% की वृद्धि होगी।

2050 में 5 अरब लोगों को पानी तक पहुँचने में कठिनाई का सामना करना पड़ सकता है: WMO

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र (यूएन) एजेंसी की एक रिपोर्ट में चेतावनी दी गई है कि 2050 तक वैश्विक स्तर पर पांच अरब से अधिक लोगों को पानी की कमी का सामना करना पड़ सकता है।
• विश्व मौसम विज्ञान संगठन (डब्लूएमओ) ने कहा कि जलवायु परिवर्तन से बाढ़ और सूखे जैसे पानी से संबंधित खतरों का वैश्विक जोखिम बढ़ जाता है, और पानी की कमी से प्रभावित लोगों की संख्या भी बढ़ने की उम्मीद है।
• "रिपोर्ट में उद्धृत आंकड़ों के अनुसार, 2018 में 3.6 अरब लोगों को प्रति वर्ष कम से कम एक महीने पानी की अपर्याप्त पहुंच थी। 2050 तक, यह बढ़कर पांच अरब से अधिक होने की उम्मीद है।

घाना 2023 में पहली बार अफ्रीकी पैरालंपिक खेलों की मेजबानी करेगा

• घाना की राष्ट्रीय पैरालंपिक समिति (एनपीसी-घाना) के अध्यक्ष सैमसन दीन ने मंगलवार को कहा कि घाना 2023 में पहली बार अफ्रीकी पैरालंपिक खेलों की मेजबानी करेगा।
• दीन के अनुसार, महाद्वीपीय शोपीस में लगभग 50 अफ्रीकी देशों के भाग लेने की उम्मीद थी।
• उन्होंने कहा कि घाना ने युवा और खेल मंत्रालय के सहयोग से खेलों की तैयारी शुरू कर दी है।
• "सरकार आवश्यक समर्थन और रसद की पेशकश करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है जो 2023 में अफ्रीकी पैरालंपिक खेलों की मेजबानी को संभव बनाएगी।

वाई.एस. जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने शुरू किया 'स्वच्छा' कार्यक्रम

• आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री वाई.एस. जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने मासिक धर्म से जुड़े कलंक से निपटने, महिला व्यक्तिगत स्वच्छता को प्राथमिकता देने और सूचना के स्वस्थ संवाद को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए 'स्वच्छ' कार्यक्रम शुरू किया है। 'स्वच्छा' (अर्थात् स्वतंत्रता) का उद्देश्य किशोर लड़कियों और महिलाओं में स्वास्थ्य और मासिक धर्म स्वच्छता तक सस्ती पहुंच सुनिश्चित करना है।
• राज्य सरकार सरकारी शिक्षण संस्थानों में छात्राओं को अच्छी गुणवत्ता वाले ब्रांडेड सैनिटरी नैपकिन मुफ्त में उपलब्ध कराएगी।
• 32 करोड़ रुपये के वित्तीय परिव्यय से राज्य भर के सभी सरकारी स्कूलों और इंटरमीडिएट कॉलेजों में 7वीं-12वीं कक्षा में पढ़ने वाली लगभग 10 लाख किशोरियों को हर महीने दस सैनिटरी नैपकिन दिए जाएंगे।
• प्रत्येक महिला छात्र को प्रति वर्ष कुल 120 नैपकिन आवंटित किए जाते हैं, यहां तक कि गर्मी की छुट्टियों के दौरान भी, छात्रों को स्कूल छोड़ने से पहले उनके कोटे के साथ आपूर्ति की जाएगी।

तेलंगाना ने विकसित किया भारत का पहला स्मार्टफोन-आधारित ई-वोटिंग समाधान

• तेलंगाना ने बुधवार को कहा कि उसने C-19 महामारी का सामना करते हुए देश का पहला स्मार्टफोन आधारित ई-वोटिंग समाधान विकसित किया है, जिसने दुनिया को सभी डिजिटल परिचालनों में धकेल दिया है।
• समाधान को सफलतापूर्वक विकसित और परीक्षण किया गया है, जबकि एक डमी चुनाव के रूप में एक ड्राई रन, खम्मम जिले में आयोजित किया जा रहा है, जिसमें 8-18 अक्टूबर तक खुले आवेदन पर पंजीकरण और 20 अक्टूबर को डमी मतदान हो रहा है।
• यह पहल तेलंगाना राज्य चुनाव आयोग (TSEC) द्वारा राज्य के आईटी विभाग के इमर्जिंग टेक्नोलॉजी विंग और सेंटर फॉर डेवलपमेंट ऑफ एडवांस कंप्यूटिंग (CDAC) के कार्यान्वयन समर्थन के साथ संचालित की गई है।

वयोवृद्ध टेलीविजन अभिनेता अरविंद त्रिवेदी का निधन हो गया

• वयोवृद्ध टेलीविजन अभिनेता अरविंद त्रिवेदी, जो रामानंद सागर के टीवी धारावाहिक रामायण में राक्षस-राजा रावण की प्रतिष्ठित भूमिका के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं, का निधन हो गया है। वह 82 वर्ष के थे। वह गुजरात में साबरकांठा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के एक सांसद के रूप में राजनीतिक क्षेत्र का भी हिस्सा थे, और उन्होंने 1991-96 तक संसद की सेवा की थी।
• उन्होंने 2002 से 2003 तक केंद्रीय फिल्म प्रमाणन बोर्ड (CBFC) के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया।

विश्व कपास दिवस 2021: 07 अक्टूबर

• विश्व कपास दिवस (WCD) 7 अक्टूबर को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस का उद्देश्य कपास के लाभों का जश्न मनाना है, जिसमें प्राकृतिक फाइबर के रूप में इसके गुणों से लेकर लोगों को इसके उत्पादन, परिवर्तन, व्यापार और उपभोग से प्राप्त होने वाले लाभ शामिल हैं। WCD दिवस की शुरुआत कपास -4 देशों के समूह बेनिन, बुर्किना फासो, चाड और माली (Mali) द्वारा वैश्विक वस्तु के रूप में कपास के महत्व को दर्शाने के लिए की गई थी
• विश्व कपास दिवस की पहल 2019 में हुई थी, जब उप-सहारा अफ्रीका में चार कपास उत्पादकों- बेनिन, बुर्किना फासो, चाड और माली, जिन्हें कॉटन फोर के नाम से जाना जाता है, ने 7 अक्टूबर को विश्व व्यापार संगठन को विश्व कपास दिवस समारोह का प्रस्ताव दिया।

बैंकिंग और आर्थिक

कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक प्रत्यक्ष, अप्रत्यक्ष कर एकत्र करने वाला पहला अनुसूचित निजी क्षेत्र का बैंक बना

• कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक लिमिटेड (केएमबीएल) को अपने बैंकिंग नेटवर्क के माध्यम से प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष करों, जैसे आयकर, माल और सेवा कर (जीएसटी) आदि के संग्रह के लिए सरकार से मंजूरी मिल गई है। इसके साथ, बैंक वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण द्वारा सभी बैंकों को सरकार से संबंधित व्यवसाय में भाग लेने की घोषणा के बाद अनुमोदन प्राप्त करने वाला पहला अनुसूचित निजी क्षेत्र का बैंक बन गया।
• तकनीकी एकीकरण के बाद, केएमबीएल ग्राहक सीधे केएमबीएल के मोबाइल बैंकिंग या नेट बैंकिंग प्लेटफॉर्म के साथ-साथ केएमबीएल के शाखा बैंकिंग नेटवर्क के माध्यम से अपने प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष करों का भुगतान करने में सक्षम होंगे, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप ग्राहकों के लिए अत्यधिक आसानी और सुविधा होगी।

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने सरफेसी अधिनियम के तहत एनएआरसीएल को लाइसेंस प्रदान किया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने नेशनल एसेट रिकंस्ट्रक्शन कंपनी NARCL) को एसेट रिकंस्ट्रक्शन कंपनी (ARC) के रूप में पंजीकरण करने का लाइसेंस दिया है। लाइसेंस वित्तीय आस्तियों का प्रतिभूतिकरण और पुनर्गठन तथा प्रतिभूति हित का प्रवर्तन (SARFAESI) अधिनियम 2002 की धारा 3 के तहत दिया गया है।
• सरफेसी अधिनियम की धारा 3 के अनुसार, एक कंपनी केवल आरबीआई से पंजीकरण का प्रमाण पत्र प्राप्त करने के बाद ही संपत्ति पुनर्निर्माण का व्यवसाय कर सकती है और जिसके पास 2 करोड़ रुपये से कम की स्वामित्व वाली निधि नहीं है अथवा प्रतिभूतिकरण कंपनी या पुनर्निर्माण कंपनी द्वारा अर्जित या अर्जित की जाने वाली वित्तीय संपत्तियां जो अन्य राशि कुल के 15% से अधिक नहीं है। NARCL को कंपनी अधिनियम के तहत शामिल किया गया है, और सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों की NARCL में 51 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी होगी।

Moody's upgrades India's ratings outlook after nearly two years to Stable from Negative

• Rating agency Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded India’s sovereign rating outlook to ‘stable’ from ‘negative’, on October 05, 2021, following an improvement in the financial sector and faster-than-expected economic recovery across sectors. Moody’s expects real GDP growth to average around 6 per cent over the medium term, reflecting a rebound in activity to levels at potential as conditions normalise
• While it retained India’s rating at Baa3, reflecting the lowest investment grade rating, Moody’s said it expects real GDP to surpass pre-pandemic levels of 2019-20 this year itself, as the ongoing economic recovery is picking up steam with activity upticks broadening across sectors. It expects 2021-22 to record 9.3% growth in GDP, followed by 7.9% next year.

5 billion people could face difficulty accessing water in 2050: WMO

• More than five billion people globally are expected to face a shortage of water by 2050, a United Nations (UN) agency report has warned.
• The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), said that climate change increases the global risk of water-related hazards like floods and droughts, and the number of people affected by water scarcity is also expected to soar.
• "According to figures cited in the report, 3.6 billion people had inadequate access to water at least one month per year in 2018. By 2050, this is expected to rise to more than five billion.

Ghana to host first-ever African Paralympic Games in 2023

• Ghana will host the first-ever African Paralympic Games in 2023, the President of National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC-Ghana) Samson Deen said on Tuesday.
• According to Deen, about 50 African countries were expected to participate in the continental showpiece.
• He said Ghana had begun preparations for the Games with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
• "The government has been committed to offering the necessary support and logistics that will make hosting of the African Paralympic Games in 2023 possible.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched ‘Swechha’ programme

• Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the ‘Swechha’ program to tackle the stigma attached to menstruation, prioritize female personal hygiene, and encourage a healthy dialogue of information. ‘Swechha’ (meaning freedom) is intended to ensure affordable access to health and menstrual hygiene in adolescent girls and women.
• The state government will provide good quality branded sanitary napkins to female students at government educational institutions free of cost.
• Ten sanitary napkins will be given every month to about 10 lakh adolescent girls studying from 7th-12th grades in all government schools and intermediate colleges across the state at a financial outlay of INR 32 crores.
• A total of 120 napkins per year is allotted to every female student, even during summer vacations, the students will be supplied with their quota before they leave school.

Telangana Develops India's First Smartphone-Based E-Voting Solution

• Telangana on Wednesday said it has developed the country's first smartphone-based e-voting solution, in the face of the C-19 pandemic that has rushed the world into all-digital operations.
• The solution has been successfully developed and tested while a dry run, in the form of a dummy election, is being conducted in Khammam district, with registration on the application open from October 8-18.
• The initiative has been driven by the Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) with the implementation support of the Emerging Technologies Wing of the state's IT Department, and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), it said.

Veteran television actor Arvind Trivedi, passed away

• Veteran television actor Arvind Trivedi, who is famously known for his iconic role of demon-king Raavan in Ramanand Sagar’s TV serial Ramayan, has passed away. He was 82.
• He was also part of the political field, as an MP from Sabarkatha constituency in Gujarat, and had served the Parliament from 1991-96. He served as the acting chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) from 2002 to 2003.

World Cotton Day 2021: 07th October

• World Cotton Day (WCD) is observed globally on 7th October. The international day aims to celebrate the advantages of cotton, ranging from its qualities as a natural fibre to the benefits people obtain from its production, transformation, trade and consumption. WCD Day was initiated by the Group of Cotton-4 countries namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali to reflect the importance of cotton as a global commodity.
• The initiative of World Cotton Day was born in 2019, when four cotton producers in sub-Saharan Africa– Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali, known as the Cotton Four -proposed the World Trade Organization a World Cotton Day celebration on October 7.

Kotak Mahindra Bank becomes 1st scheduled private sector bank to collect direct, indirect taxes

• Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd (KMBL) has received approval from the government for the collection of direct & indirect taxes, such as income tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST) etc, through its banking network. With this, the bank becomes the first scheduled private sector bank to receive approval after the announcement by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman allowing all banks to participate in the government-related business.
• After technical integration, KMBL customers will be able to pay their direct and indirect taxes straight from KMBL’s mobile banking or net banking platforms as well as through KMBL’s branch banking network, resulting in immense ease and convenience for customers.

Reserve Bank of India grants licence to NARCL under Sarfaesi Act

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted the National Asset Reconstruction Company (NARCL) the licence to register as an asset reconstruction company (ARC). The Licence is given under Section 3 of the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest (SARFAESI) Act 2002.
• As per Section 3 of the SARFAESI Act, a company can carry the business of asset reconstruction only after obtaining a certificate of registration from RBI and, having the owned fund of not less than Rs 2 crore or such other amount not exceeding 15% of total financial assets acquired or to be acquired by the securitisation company or reconstruction company. The NARCL has been incorporated under the Companies Act, and public sector banks will hold 51 per cent in NARCL.
