दो दिवसीय संयुक्त तटीय सुरक्षा अभ्यास 'सागर कवच' शुरू

• ओडिशा के पारादीप तट पर दो दिवसीय संयुक्त तटीय सुरक्षा अभ्यास, "सागर कवच" लॉन्च किया गया। अभ्यास ओडिशा राज्य और पश्चिम बंगाल सरकारों के संयुक्त प्रयास से किया जा रहा है।
• अभ्यास का मुख्य उद्देश्य 26 वीं मुंबई हमलों के बाद हर साल की तरह इस साल भी पारादीप के तट पर अभ्यास करना है। समुद्र के द्वारा मुंबई हमलों की पुनरावृत्ति को रोकने के लिए अभ्यास किया जा रहा है।
• भारतीय नौसेना, भारतीय तटरक्षक बल, ओडिशा पुलिस, स्थानीय मछुआरों, वन विभाग और बंदरगाह समुद्री विभाग सहित 10 से अधिक ऐसे विभाग संयुक्त अभ्यास में शामिल हुए हैं।
• यह दो दिनों तक चलेगा, जिसमें हमलों को रोकने और रोकने के लिए लाल और हरे रंग की सेना का गठन किया जाएगा। तटीय सुरक्षा के लिए इस वर्ष के अभ्यास को "सागर कवच" नाम दिया गया था।

 भारत की तीनों सेनाओं के विशेष बलों ने किया ‘Bull Strike’ अभ्यास

• अंडमान और निकोबार कमांड (ANC) ने निकोबार ग्रुप ऑफ आइलैंड्स के टेरेसा आइलैंड में तीन दिवसीय ट्राई-सर्विस कॉम्बैट एक्सरसाइज कोड-नाम "बुल स्ट्राइक" का आयोजन किया गया है। यह अभ्यास तीनों सेवाओं- थल सेना, नौसेना और वायु सेना के बीच अंतर कम करने और तालमेल पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया।
• इस अभ्यास में भारतीय सेना की पैराशूट ब्रिगेड, MARCOS (मरीन कमांडो फोर्स) और विशेष बलों की टुकड़ी, ANC के तीन सेवाओं के सेनिकों ने हिस्सा लिया।
• साथ ही, पैरा कमांडो की एक कंपनी, इंडियन नेवी के MARCOS और भारतीय सेना के स्पेशल हेलिक बॉर्न ऑपरेशंस (SHBO) द्वारा भारतीय सेना शतक प्लाटून द्वारा की गई कार्रवाई में एडवांस एयरलिफ्टर C-130J "सुपर हरक्यूलिस" से मुकाबला फ्री फॉल और पैराड्रॉप शामिल था।
• इसके अलावा खोज और बचाव (Search and rescue) और चिकित्सा निकासी प्रक्रियाओं में भाग लेने वाले सैनिकों द्वारा भी अभ्यास किया गया था।

केंद्र सरकार ने टीवी चैनलों की मौजूदा टीआरपी प्रणाली की समीक्षा करने के लिए गठित की समिति

• सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय ने टीवी चैनलों की मौजूदा टेलीविजन रेटिंग पॉइंट्स (TRP) का आकलन करने के लिए एक चार सदस्यीय समिति का गठन किया है। इस समिति की अध्यक्षता प्रसार भारती के CEO शशि एस वेम्पती करेंगे।
• यह समिति सभी हितधारकों की 'जरूरतों को समझकर रेटिंग प्रणाली के लिए आवश्यक सिफारिशें करने के लिए जिम्मेदार होगी, जो' सशक्त, पारदर्शी और जवाबदेह होगी '।
• इस समिति को दो महीने के भीतर अपनी रिपोर्ट सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्री को देनी होगी।
• हाल ही में सामने आए टीआरपी घोटाले के बाद ऐसी समिति बनाने की आवश्यकता महसूस की गई जिसमें यह आरोप लगाया गया कि कुछ टीवी चैनलों ने अपनी टीआरपी बढ़ाने के लिए भुगतान किया और TRP हेरफेर किया था।
• TRP की गणना भारत में ब्रॉडकास्ट ऑडियंस रिसर्च काउंसिल (BARC) द्वारा Bar-O-Meter नामक एक उपकरण का उपयोग करके की जाती है, जो पूरे देश में 45,000 से अधिक घरों में स्थापित किए गए है।

 DMC ने "प्लास्टिक लाओ मास्क ले जाओ" पहल का किया शुभारंभ

• उत्तराखंड के देहरादून नगर निगम (DMC) ने प्लास्टिक कचरे के खतरे से निपटने और C-19 के प्रसार को रोकने के लिए "प्लास्टिक लाओ मास्क ले जाओ" नामक से एक नई पहल की शुरूआत की है। इस पहल के तहत प्लास्टिक कचरे के बदले पांच हजार फेस मास्क वितरित किए जाएंगे।
• देहरादून के नगर आयुक्त विनय शंकर पांडे अपने घर से प्लास्टिक कचरा लाकर और फेस मास्क प्राप्त कर और प्लास्टिक कचरे के खिलाफ जनता में जागरूकता पैदा करके और मास्क का महत्व बताने वाले पहले व्यक्ति बने थे।

 भारत पंहुचा तीन राफेल लड़ाकू विमानों का दूसरा बैच

• तीन राफेल विमानों का दूसरा बैच भारत पहुंचा गया है, जिसके साथ ही भारतीय वायुसेना में राफेल विमानों की कुल संख्या आठ हो गई है। तीन राफेल जेट का दूसरा बैच फ्रांस से उड़ान भरने के बाद नॉन-स्टॉप 4 नवंबर, 2020 को गुजरात के जामनगर में उतरा। इससे पहले, पांच राफेल जेट का पहला बड़ा 28 जुलाई को भारत आया था और जिन्हें 10 सितंबर को हरियाणा के अंबाला एयर बेस में आधिकारिक तौर पर भारतीय वायु सेना में शामिल किया गया था।
• दूसरे बैच के आने के साथ ही IAF के पास अब कुल आठ राफेल लड़ाकू विमान हो गए हैं। वायु सेना प्रमुख एयर चीफ मार्शल आरकेएस भदौरिया द्वारा मिली जानकारी के अनुसार, 2023 तक सभी 36 जेट्स भारत को सौंप दिए जाएंगे।

 चाचा चौधरी बने नमामि गंगे परियोजना के ब्रांड एम्बेस्डर

• मशहूर भारतीय सुपरहीरो चाचा चौधरी, जिनका दिमाग कम्प्यूटर से भी तेज चलता है, ने अब नमामि गंगे कार्यक्रम से हाथ मिलाया है।
• डायमंड टून्स गंगा संरक्षण के लिए उपलब्ध सर्वश्रेष्ठ ज्ञान को जनता के बीच फैलाने और गंगा नदी के सांस्कृतिक और आध्यात्मिक महत्व पर जागरुकता फैलाने के लिए चाचा चौधरी के साथ इस नई ‘Talking Comics’ की संकल्पना का निर्माण और प्रकाशन करेगी। इसका टीजर गंगा उत्सव 2020 के दौरान जारी किया गया।

 Syska Group ने राजकुमार राव को बनाया अपना नया ब्रांड एंबेसडर

• फास्ट मूविंग इलेक्ट्रिकल गुड्स (FMEG) कंपनी Syska Group ने अभिनेता राजकुमार राव को अपने ब्रांड का नया चेहरा (ब्रांड एम्बेसडर) बनाया है। राव LED और फैन सेगमेंट में Syska उत्पादों की सेल बढ़ाने के लिए कंपनी के साथ मिलकर प्रचार करेंगे। इस साझेदारी के तहत सिस्का ग्रुप एक नया विज्ञापन अभियान शुरू करेगा, जिसमें राजकुमार LED और फैन सेगमेंट के प्रचार पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगे।
• कंपनी का उद्देश्य शहरी ग्राहकों के साथ-साथ टियर 2 और 3 बाजारों के उन लोगों के साथ मजबूत जुड़ाव का लाभ उठाना है, जो अपने लक्ष्य समूहों के बड़े हिस्से को बनाते हैं।

दिलीप रथ को IDF के बोर्ड में किया गया शामिल

• राष्ट्रीय डेयरी विकास बोर्ड (National Dairy Development Board) के अध्यक्ष दिलीप रथ को सर्वसम्मति से वैश्विक डेयरी निकाय इंटरनेशनल डेयरी फेडरेशन (IDF) के बोर्ड में चुना गया है। वह भारतीय राष्ट्रीय समिति के सदस्य सचिव और डेयरी नीति और अर्थशास्त्र पर स्थायी समिति के सदस्य के रूप में IDF के साथ पिछले 10 वर्षों से जुड़े हुए हैं।
• रथ ने IDF और खाद्य और कृषि संगठन (Food and Agriculture Organization) के बीच अक्टूबर 2016 में रॉटरडैम में आईडीएफ विश्व डेयरी शिखर सम्मेलन में डेयरी घोषणा पर हस्ताक्षर करने में एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई थी। भारत दुनिया के दुग्ध उत्पादक देशों में पहले स्थान पर है और दुनिया में सबसे बड़ी गोजातीय आबादी वाला देश है।

राष्ट्रीय कैंसर जागरूकता दिवस 2020

• राष्ट्रीय कैंसर जागरूकता दिवस 7 नवंबर को भारत में प्रतिवर्ष मनाया जाता है, ताकि कैंसर, इसके लक्षणों और उपचार के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाई जा सके। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) के अनुसार, वैश्विक स्तर पर कैंसर मौत का दूसरा प्रमुख कारण है।
• 2018 में, लगभग 18 मिलियन मामले विश्व स्तर पर थे, जिनमें से 1.5 मिलियन अकेले भारत में थे। 2018 में, वैश्विक रूप से 9.5 मिलियन के मुकाबले भारत में लगभग 0.8 मिलियन कैंसर से मौतें हुईं।

शक्तिकांत दास की अध्यक्षता मे 40 वीं सार्क सेंट्रल बैंक गवर्नरों की बैठक

• सार्किनेंस गवर्नर्स ग्रुप की 40 वीं बैठक, श्री शक्तिकांत दास, , आरबीआई के गवर्नर की अध्यक्षता में वस्तुतः आयोजित की गई थी।
• बैठक में सार्क केंद्रीय बैंकों के गवर्नर शामिल थे। बैठक के दौरान, श्री दास ने एक बंद उपयोगकर्ता समूह सुरक्षित संचार नेटवर्क, SAARCFINANCE सिंक का भी उद्घाटन किया।
• अपनी प्रारंभिक टिप्पणी में, अध्‍यक्ष श्री दास ने संयुक्त रूप से महामारी से लड़ने में सदस्य देशों के बीच घनिष्ठ साझेदारी और सहयोग पर प्रकाश डाला।
• समूह ने सार्क क्षेत्र में व्यापक आर्थिक स्थिति का जायजा लिया; वर्तमान SAARCFINANCE पहलों पर चर्चा की।
• अध्‍यक्षों ने केंद्रीय बैंक के अनुभवों को जारी रखने और साझा करने के लिए अपनी प्रतिबद्धता की पुष्टि की।

हरिहरन ने मलयालम सिनेमा में आजीवन योगदान के लिए जीता JC डैनियल पुरस्कार

• प्रसिद्ध फिल्मकार हरिहरन को JC डैनियल पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया है, जो मलयालम सिनेमा में आजीवन योगदान के लिए दिया जाने वाला राज्य सरकार का सर्वोच्च सम्मान है। इस पुरस्कार में 5 लाख रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार, एक प्रशस्ति पत्र और एक प्रतिमा शामिल है।
• हरिहरन को इस प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार के लिए एमटी वासुदेवन नायर की अध्यक्षता में गठित एक जूरी द्वारा चुना गया, जिसके निर्देशक हरिकुमार, अभिनेता विदुबाला, राज्य चलचित्र अकादमी के अध्यक्ष कमल और सांस्कृतिक विभाग की सचिव रानी जॉर्ज सदस्य थे। हरिहरन, जो शुरू में मद्रास में सिनेमेटोग्राफर यू राजगोपाल के साथ कुशल थे, ने बाद में प्रशासकों एम कृष्णन नायर, एबी राज और जेडी थोट्टानम को सात साल तक असिस्ट किया।
• उन्होंने 1972 में फिल्म 'गर्ल्स हॉस्टल' का निर्देशन किया। इसके बाद उन्होंने मलयालम की कुछ सदाबहार फिल्मों को लेकर भी आए।

व्हाट्सएप पेमेंट सर्विस को NPCI से UPI करने की मिली मंजूरी

• नेशनल पेमेंट्स कॉरपोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (NPCI) ने आखिरकार फेसबुक के स्वामित्व वाले मैसेजिंग प्लेटफॉर्म "WhatsApp" को देश में अपनी पेमेंट सेवाओं को "श्रेणीबद्ध" तरीके से लॉन्च करने की मंजूरी दे दी है। एनपीसीआई द्वारा मंजूरी संगठन द्वारा यूनिफाइड पेमेंट्स इंटरफेस (यूपीआई) के उपयोग के विषय में अपने नियमों में महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव करने के बाद दी गई है। यह मंजूरी व्हाट्सएप या उसके प्रतिद्वंद्वियों जैसे गूगल पे और वॉलमार्ट के फोनपे जैसे एकल तीसरे पक्ष पर एक सीमा रखता है जहां वे केवल समग्र UPI लेनदेन संस्करणों का 30 प्रतिशत संभाल रहे हैं।
• NPCI, यूनिफ़ॉर्म पेमेंट्स इंटरफ़ेस (UPI) को खरीदारी करने और व्यापारियों के अंत में वास्तविक समय के भुगतान को सक्षम बनाता है। यूपीआई चैनल तेजी से डिजिटल लेनदेन के लिए भारत का सबसे पसंदीदा तरीका बन गया है क्योंकि यह संस्करणों के रूप में लॉन्च हुआ है।

Two-day joint coastal security exercise ‘Sagar Kavach’ begins

• A two-day joint coastal security exercise, “Sagar Kavach” was launched at Paradip Coast, Odisha. The exercise is being carried out by a joint effort of the state of Odisha and West Bengal governments.
• The main purpose of the exercise is to carry out the exercise on the coast of Paradip this year, just like every year after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The exercise is being carried out to prevent a repeat of the Mumbai attacks by sea.
• More than 10 such departments, including the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard, the Odisha Police, the local fishermen, the forest department, and the port marine department, have joined the joint exercise.
• It will run for two days, with red and green forces being formed to infiltrate and prevent attacks. This year for coastal security the exercise was named “Sagar Kavach”.

 India’s special forces conducted ‘Bull Strike’ triservice exercise

• Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) has conducted a three-day Tri-Service Combat Exercise code-named “Bull Strike” at Teressa Island in Nicobar Group of Islands. The exercise focussed on interoperability and synergy among three services – Army, Navy and Air Force to maximise combat potential.
• The exercise saw participation from three services components of ANC, elements of Indian Army’s Parachute Brigade, MARCOS (Marine Commando Force) and Special Forces.
• The training activities included combat free fall and paradrop from Advanced Airlifter C-130J “Super Hercules” by a company of Para Commandos, action by MARCOS of Indian Navy and Special Heli Borne Operations (SHBO) by Indian Army Ghatak platoons.
• Search and rescue (SAR) and medical evacuation procedures were also practised by the participating troops.

Centre forms committee to assess existing TRP system of TV channels

• The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has constituted a four-member committee, to assess the existing Television Rating Points (TRP) of TV channels. The committee will be chaired by Prasar Bharati CEO, Shashi S Vempati.
• The committee will be responsible to address the ‘needs of the stakeholders’ and make necessary recommendations for a rating system which shall be ‘robust, transparent and accountable’.
• It will have to submit its report to the Information and Broadcasting minister within two months.
• The need to form such committee was felt after the alleged TRP scam in which it was alleged that certain TV channels manipulated TRPs in return for payment.
• TRP is calculated in India by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) using a device called Bar-O-Meter, which is installed in over 45,000 households across the country.
• The device collects data about a programme or channel watched by members of these households on the basis of which weekly ratings are issued by BARC.

 DMC launched "Plastic Lao MASK LE JAO" initiative

• In Uttarakhand, Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) has launched an initiative named Plastic Lao MASK LE JAO to fight against the menace of plastic waste and contain the spread of C-19.
• It has distributed Five thousand face masks in exchange for plastic waste.
• Municipal commissioner of Dehradun, Vinay Shankar Pandey, who was the first to bring plastic waste from his house and get a face mask, and create awareness in the public against plastic waste and also the importance of masks.

 India receives 2nd batch of Three Rafale Aircraft

• India receives the second batch of three Rafale Aircraft, bringing total Rafale Jets with IAF to eight.
• The second batch of three Rafale jets landed in Jamnagar, Gujarat on 4th November 2020, after flying non-stop from France.
• Earlier, the first batch of five Rafale jets arrived in India on July 28 and they were officially inducted in the Indian Air Force on 10 September at Ambala Air Base in Haryana.
• With the arrival of the second batch, the IAF now has a total of eight Rafale fighter aircraft. As per the information by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, the induction of all 36 jets will be completed by 2023.

Chacha Chaudhary becomes the Brand Ambassador for NamamiGange Project

• The iconic Indian superhero, Chacha Chaudhary, whose brain works faster than a computer has now come forward to join hands with the NamamiGangeProgramme.
• Diamond Toons will conceptualize and publish this new ‘Talking Comics’ with Chacha Chaudhary spreading awareness on the cultural and spiritual significance of River Ganga and deploy best available knowledge across the masses for Ganga rejuvenation. The teaser was released during Ganga Utsav 2020.

Syska Group announces Rajkummar Rao as its new brand ambassador

• Fast Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG) company Syska Group, has roped in actor Rajkummar Rao as the new face of the brand.
• Rao will work closely with the company to promote the Syska products across LED and fan segments.
• The partnership will also see Syska Group launch a new ad campaign with Rajkummar focusing on LED and fans.
• The company aims to leverage the actors strong connect with urban audiences, as well as with those from Tier 2 and 3 markets, which make up the large segment of its target groups.

NDDB Chairman Dilip Rath elected to IDF

• National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Chairman, Dilip Rath has been unanimously elected to the board of global dairy body International Dairy Federation (IDF).
• He has been associated with IDF for the last 10 years as Member Secretary of Indian National Committee and as a member of the Standing Committee on Dairy Policy and Economics.
• Rath has played a key role in signing the Dairy Declaration at the IDF World Dairy Summit in Rotterdam in October 2016 between IDF and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
• India ranks first among the world’s milk-producing nations and has the largest bovine population in the world.

National Cancer Awareness Day 2020

• The National Cancer Awareness Day is observed annually in India on November 7, to spread awareness on cancer, its symptoms and treatment. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer is the second leading cause of death globally.
• In 2018, approximately 18 million cases were there globally, of which, 1.5 million were in India alone. In 2018, there were around 0.8 million cancer deaths in India against 9.5 million globally.

Shaktikanta Das Chairs 40th SAARC Central Bank Governors Meet

• The 40th Meeting of the SAARCFINANCE Governors’ Group was held virtually, under the Chairmanship of Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor, RBI.
• The meeting was attended by the Governors from SAARC central banks. During the meeting, Mr Das also inaugurated the SAARCFINANCE Sync, a closed user group secure communication network.
• In his opening remarks, Governor Shri Das highlighted the close partnership and co-operation among the member countries in jointly fighting the pandemic.
• The group took stock of the macroeconomic situation in the SAARC region; discussed the current SAARCFINANCE initiatives; and the way ahead.
• The Governors reaffirmed their commitment to continued co-operation and sharing of central bank experiences.
• SAARCFINANCE is a network of central bank governors and finance secretaries of the SAARC region.
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is the current chair of SAARCFINANCE.

Hariharan wins JC Daniel award for lifetime contributions in Malayalam cinema

• Noted filmmaker Hariharan has been selected for the JC Daniel Award, the state government’s highest honour for lifetime contributions to Malayalam cinema.
• The award carries a purse of Rs 5 lakh, a citation, and a sculpture. Hariharan was chosen for the prestigious award by a jury chaired by MT Vasudevan Nair with director Harikumar, actor Vidhubala, State Chalachitra Academy chairman Kamal and Cultural Department Secretary Rani George as members.
• Hariharan, who initially skilled with cinematographer U Rajagopal in Madras, later assisted administrators M Krishnan Nair, AB Raj, and JD Thottanm for seven years. In 1972 he directed the film ‘Girls Hostel’. Later he got here up with a few of the evergreen films in Malayalam.

WhatsApp's payments service gets NPCI nod

• The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has finally allowed Facebook-owned messaging platform "WhatsApp" to roll out its payments service in the country in a “graded” manner.
• The announcement by NPCI came after the organisation made a crucial change to its regulations concerning the use of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
• The change puts a limit on single third parties such as WhatsApp or its rivals Google Pay and Walmart’s PhonePe where they can only handle 30 per cent of overall UPI transaction volumes.
