पीएम मोदी ने पुणे में तीन ई-100 इथेनॉल वितरण स्टेशनों का शुभारंभ किया

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस कार्यक्रम को वस्तुतः संबोधित किया, जिसका आयोजन पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्रालय और पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से किया गया था। कार्यक्रम के दौरान, पीएम मोदी ने "भारत में इथेनॉल सम्मिश्रण 2020-2025 के लिए रोड मैप पर विशेषज्ञ समिति की रिपोर्ट" भी जारी की। रिपोर्ट का विषय 'बेहतर पर्यावरण के लिए जैव ईंधन को बढ़ावा देना' है।
• पीएम मोदी ने देश भर में इथेनॉल के उत्पादन और वितरण के लिए पुणे में तीन स्थानों पर ई 100 इथेनॉल वितरण स्टेशनों की एक पायलट परियोजना भी शुरू की, क्योंकि इथेनॉल का पर्यावरण के साथ-साथ किसानों के जीवन पर भी बेहतर प्रभाव पड़ता है।

तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री ने NEET का अध्ययन करने के लिए पैनल बनाया

• मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन ने शनिवार को मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय के सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश एके राजन की अध्यक्षता में एक उच्च स्तरीय समिति का गठन किया, जो राज्य में चिकित्सा पाठ्यक्रमों में प्रवेश पर राष्ट्रीय पात्रता सह प्रवेश परीक्षा (एनईईटी) के प्रभाव का अध्ययन और रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करेगी।
• स्टालिन ने कहा कि कई शिक्षाविदों का मानना है कि NEET ने ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों से आने वाले छात्रों, गरीब आर्थिक पृष्ठभूमि के लोगों और तमिल शिक्षा के छात्रों को चिकित्सा शिक्षा के अवसर से वंचित कर दिया था। इसे ध्यान में रखते हुए, राज्य सरकार यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एक कानूनी लड़ाई लड़ रही है कि मेडिकल पाठ्यक्रमों में प्रवेश कक्षा 12 के अंकों के आधार पर दिया जाए, और एनईईटी को खत्म किया जाए। एके राजन की अध्यक्षता वाली समिति यह अध्ययन करेगी कि क्या पिछले कुछ वर्षों के दौरान एनईईटी ने सामाजिक रूप से पिछड़े छात्रों को प्रभावित किया है और यदि ऐसा है, तो पैनल दुष्प्रभावों को ठीक करने के लिए वैकल्पिक प्रवेश प्रक्रियाओं का सुझाव देगा।

राजस्थान ने शुरू की मुफ्त कोचिंग योजना

• राज्य वित्त विभाग द्वारा जारी एक परिपत्र में कहा गया है कि राजस्थान ने वंचित छात्रों को सिविल सेवाओं और व्यावसायिक पाठ्यक्रमों में प्रवेश परीक्षाओं की तैयारी में मदद करने के लिए मुख्यमंत्री अनुप्रति कोचिंग योजना शुरू की है, जिसका उद्देश्य उन्हें समान अवसर देना है।
• अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति, अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग (ओबीसी), अत्यंत पिछड़ी जाति, अल्पसंख्यक और आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्ग के छात्र जिनकी वार्षिक पारिवारिक आय 8 लाख रु. प्रति वर्ष से कम है, वे आदिवासी क्षेत्र विकास द्वारा संचालित योजना का लाभ उठा सकेंगे।
• कॉमन लॉ एडमिशन टेस्ट (CLAT) के अलावा इंजीनियरिंग और मेडिकल प्रवेश परीक्षाओं के लिए भी कोचिंग प्रदान की जाएगी। योजना के लिए छात्रों की पात्रता कक्षा 10 और 12 में प्राप्त अंकों के आधार पर होगी।

उत्तराखंड पुलिस लगाएगी 1 लाख पौधे

• उत्तराखंड पुलिस ने विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस के अवसर पर वृक्षारोपण अभियान शुरू किया है जिसके तहत राज्य भर के पुलिस परिसरों में एक लाख पौधे लगाए जाएंगे।
• अभियान 16 जुलाई को समाप्त होगा। अभियान का उद्घाटन करने वाले पर्यावरणविद् डॉ अनिल जोशी ने कहा, ''अगर हम अभी भी पर्यावरण की देखभाल नहीं करते हैं, तो विनाश निश्चित है, इसलिए हमे पर्यावरण की रक्षा हर हाल में करना है।''

विश्व खाद्य सुरक्षा दिवस: 7 जून

• विश्व खाद्य सुरक्षा दिवस 7 जून को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। दिन का उद्देश्य विभिन्न खाद्य जनित जोखिमों और इसे रोकने के उपायों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है। अभियान जागरूकता फैलाएंगे कि कैसे खाद्य सुरक्षा बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है और जीवन के विभिन्न अन्य महत्वपूर्ण कारकों जैसे मानव स्वास्थ्य, आर्थिक विकास और कई अन्य से संबंधित है। साथ ही, यह दिन निश्चित रूप से खाद्य सुरक्षा और कृषि, सतत विकास और बाजार पहुंच जैसे अन्य तत्वों के बीच संबंध बनाने में सुनिश्चित करेगा।
• इस वर्ष का विषय "स्वस्थ कल के लिए आज सुरक्षित भोजन" है। यह इस तथ्य पर चर्चा करता है कि सुरक्षित भोजन के उत्पादन और खपत के तत्काल और दीर्घकालिक लाभ हैं। लोगों, जानवरों, पौधों, पर्यावरण और अर्थव्यवस्था के स्वास्थ्य के बीच प्रणालीगत संबंधों को पहचानने से हमें भविष्य की जरूरतों को पूरा करने में मदद मिलेगी।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र रूसी भाषा दिवस: 06 जून

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र रूसी भाषा दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 06 जून को मनाया जाता है। यह पूरे संगठन में संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा उपयोग की जाने वाली छह आधिकारिक भाषाओं में से एक है। इस दिवस की स्थापना संयुक्त राष्ट्र शैक्षिक, वैज्ञानिक और सांस्कृतिक संगठन (यूनेस्को) द्वारा 2010 में की गई थी।
• 6 जून को संयुक्त राष्ट्र रूसी भाषा दिवस के रूप में चुना जाता है क्योंकि यह एक रूसी कवि अलेक्जेंडर पुश्किन के जन्मदिन के साथ मेल खाता है, जिन्हें आधुनिक रूसी भाषा का जनक माना जाता है। छह आधिकारिक भाषाओं में से प्रत्येक को 2010 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र के सार्वजनिक सूचना विभाग द्वारा बहुभाषावाद और सांस्कृतिक विविधता का जश्न मनाने के साथ-साथ पूरे संगठन में सभी छह आधिकारिक भाषाओं के समान उपयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए उत्सव मनाया जाता है।

विश्व कीट दिवस: 06 जून

• प्रतिवर्ष, विश्व कीट दिवस (जिसे कभी-कभी विश्व कीट जागरूकता दिवस भी कहा जाता है) 06 जून को मनाया जाता है। दिन का मुख्य उद्देश्य सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य की रक्षा में कीट प्रबंधन संगठन की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका के बारे में जनता, सरकार और मीडिया जागरूकता बढ़ाना, कीट प्रबंधन उद्योग की पेशेवर छवि पेश करना, वैज्ञानिक और सामाजिक रूप से जिम्मेदार तरीके से और छोटे कीटों के कारण होने वाले बड़े खतरों पर ध्यान देंना है।
• पहला विश्व कीट दिवस 2017 में चिह्नित किया गया था। विश्व कीट दिवस चीनी कीट नियंत्रण संघ द्वारा शुरू किया गया था, और फेडरेशन ऑफ एशियन एंड ओशिनिया पेस्ट मैनेजर्स एसोसिएशन (एफएओपीएमए), नेशनल पेस्ट मैनेजमेंट एसोसिएशन (एनपीएमए) द्वारा सह-प्रायोजित किया गया था।

थॉमस विजयन ने जीता नेचर टीटीएल फोटोग्राफर ऑफ द ईयर 2021

• केरल के थॉमस विजयन, जो अब कनाडा में बस गए हैं, ने एक पेड़ से चिपके एक ओरंगुटान की तस्वीर के लिए 2021 नेचर टीटीएल फोटोग्राफी अवार्ड जीता है। तस्वीर का शीर्षक है 'द वर्ल्ड इज गोइंग अपसाइड डाउन'।
• नेचर टीटीएल फ़ोटोग्राफ़र ऑफ़ द ईयर 2021 के लिए 8,000 से अधिक प्रविष्टियों में से विजयन को प्रतियोगिता के समग्र विजेता के रूप में चुना गया, जिसमें 1,500 पाउंड (1.5 लाख रुपये) का भव्य पुरस्कार है। नेचर टीटीएल दुनिया का अग्रणी ऑनलाइन प्रकृति फोटोग्राफी संसाधन है।

PM Modi Launched Three E-100 Ethanol Dispensing Stations in Pune

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the World Environment Day event, which was jointly organised by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. During the event, PM Modi also released the “Report of the Expert Committee on Road Map for ethanol blending in India 2020-2025”. The theme of the report is ‘promotion of biofuels for a better environment’.
• PM Modi also launched a Pilot Project of E 100 ethanol dispensing stations at three locations in Pune, for the production and distribution of ethanol across the country, because ethanol has a better impact on the environment as well as on the lives of farmers.

Tamil Nadu CM forms panel to study NEET

• Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday constituted a high-level committee headed by retired judge of Madras High Court AK Rajan, to study and submit a report on the impact of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on admissions to medical courses in State.
• In a statement, Stalin said that many educationists have opined that NEET had denied students hailing from rural areas, those from poor economic background, and those from Tamil medium of education, a chance at medical education.
• Keeping this in mind, the State government has been fighting a legal battle to ensure that the admission to medical courses is granted on the basis of class 12 marks, and for scrapping NEET. The committee headed by AK Rajan would study whether the NEET has affected socially backward students during the past few years and if so, the panel would suggest alternative admission procedures to set right the ill-effects.

Rajasthan launches free coaching scheme

• Rajasthan has launched Chief Minister Anuprati Coaching Scheme to help underprivileged students prepare for entrance examinations to civil services and professional courses, with an aim to give them equal opportunity, said a circular issued by the state finance department.
• Students belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes (OBC), extremely backward castes, minority and economically weaker sections with annual family income less than Rs.8 lakhs per annum will be able to avail the scheme run by the tribal area development, minority affairs, and social justice and empowerment departments.
• Coaching will also be provided for engineering and medical entrance examinations apart from Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Students’ eligibility for the scheme will be based on marks scored in class 10 and 12.

Uttarakhand police to plant 1 lakh saplings

• The Uttarakhand Police on the occasion of World Environment Day, started a tree plantation campaign under which one lakh saplings will be planted in police premises across the state.
• The campaign will end on July 16. Environmentalist Dr Anil Joshi who inaugurated the campaign said, "If we do not take care of the environment even now, then destruction is certain."

World Food Safety Day: 7th June

• World Food Safety Day is observed on 7th June globally. The aim of the day is to raise awareness about different foodborne risks and the measures of how to prevent it. The campaigns will also spread awareness that how food safety is very much important and related to different other important factors of life such as human health, economic growth, and many others. Also, the day will surely ensure in building up a connection between food safety and other elements such as agriculture, sustainable development, and market access.
• This year’s theme is “Safe food today for a healthy tomorrow”. It discusses the fact that the production and consumption of safe food have immediate and long-term benefits. Recognizing the systemic connections between the health of people, animals, plants, the environment and the economy will help us meet the needs of the future.

UN Russian Language Day: 06 June

• The UN Russian Language Day is observed annually on 06 June. It is one of the six official languages used by the United Nations throughout the Organization. The day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2010.
• 6 June is chosen as UN Russian Language Day as it coincides with the birthday of Aleksandr Pushkin, a Russian poet who is considered the father of the modern Russian language. Each of the six official languages has been assigned a day of celebration by the UN’s Department of Public Information in 2010 to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six official languages throughout the Organization.

World Pest Day: 06 June

• Every year, World Pest Day (also sometimes called World Pest Awareness Day) is observed on 06 June. The main purpose of the day is to increase public, government, and media awareness of the important role pest management organization plays in protecting public health, project the professional image of the pest management industry, promote the use of professional pest management in a scientific and socially responsible way and call attention to the big threats caused by small pests.
• The first World Pest Day was marked in 2017. World Pest Day was initiated by the Chinese Pest Control Association, and co-sponsored by the Federation of Asian and Oceania Pest Managers’ Association (FAOPMA), the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), and the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA).

Thomas Vijayan Wins Nature TTL Photographer of the Year 2021

• Kerala-based Thomas Vijayan, who is now settled in Canada, has won the 2021 Nature TTL Photography Awards for his photo of an Orangutan clinging to a tree. The photograph is titled ‘The World is Going Upside Down’.
• Vijayan was adjudged as the overall winner of the competition from over 8,000 entries for Nature TTL Photographer of the Year 2021, which carries a grand prize of 1,500 pounds (Rs.1.5 lakh). Nature TTL is the world’s leading online nature photography resource.
