लद्दाख सरकार ने स्वच्छ पानी के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए 'पानी माह' लॉन्च किया

• ग्रामीणों को स्वच्छ जल के महत्व के बारे में जानकारी देने के लिए लद्दाख में 'पानी माह' या जल माह शुरू किया गया है। लद्दाख सरकार ने 'हर घर जल' का दर्जा हासिल करने वाले प्रत्येक जिले के पहले ब्लॉक के लिए 25 लाख रुपये के इनाम की भी घोषणा की है। 'पानी माह' अभियान तीन-आयामी दृष्टिकोण अपनाएगा - पानी की गुणवत्ता परीक्षण, योजना और पानी की आपूर्ति की रणनीति, और गांवों में पानी सभा के निर्बाध कामकाज पर ध्यान केंद्रित करना।
• लद्दाख में केवल 11.75 प्रतिशत ग्रामीण परिवारों के पास नल के पानी के कनेक्शन हैं। पानी माह अभियान से केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में जल जीवन मिशन के कार्यान्वयन में तेजी आने की उम्मीद है।
• इस अभियान के दौरान ग्रामीण समुदायों को पानी के नमूने गुणवत्ता जांच और निगरानी के लिए पानी की गुणवत्ता प्रयोगशालाओं में भेजने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा।

 पहला हार्ट फेल्योर बायोबैंक केरल में SCTIMST में प्रारंभ

• देश में पहला हार्ट फैल्यर बायोबैंक केरल के श्री चित्रा तिरुनल इंस्टीट्यूट फॉर मेडिकल साइंसेज एंड टेक्नोलॉजी (SCTIMST) में नेशनल सेंटर फॉर एडवांस्ड रिसर्च एंड एक्सीलेंस इन एचएफ (CARE-HF) में आया है। बायोबैंक हृदय की विफलता के रोगियों में स्वास्थ्य परिणामों के आनुवंशिक , चयापचय और प्रोटिओमिक्स मार्करों का अध्ययन करने के लिए खुला है।
• बायोबैंक उच्च गुणवत्ता वाले जैविक मानव नमूनों के संग्रह का एक महत्वपूर्ण संसाधन है जिसका उपयोग आणविक मार्गों को समझने और दिल की विफलता के निदान, निदान और उपचार में सुधार के लिए किया जा सकता है।
• बायोस्पेसिमन्स में ओपन-हार्ट सर्जरी के दौरान प्राप्त रक्त , सीरम और ऊतक के नमूने और हृदय-विफलता रोगियों से एकत्र किए गए परिधीय रक्त मोनोन्यूक्लियर सेल (PBMCs) और जीनोमिक डीएनए शामिल हैं।

 भारतीय पहलवान लाभशु शर्मा ने उत्तराखंड के लिए भारत केसरी कुश्ती दंगल जीता

• भारतीय पहलवान लाभांशु शर्मा ने तमिलनाडु में आयोजित भारत केसरी कुश्ती दंगल 2021 जीता। उत्तराखंड के गठन के 20 वर्ष बाद, लाभांशु ने सूखे को तोड़ दिया और राज्य के लिए भारत केसरी का खिताब जीता।
• राज्य स्तर पर 15 स्वर्ण पदक और राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर 10 पदक और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कुश्ती प्रतियोगिताओं में 2 स्वर्ण पदक और 1 रजत पदक के साथ; लाभांशु पहले से ही राष्ट्र को गौरवान्वित करने के लिए तैयार है।

राजीव गांधी खेल रत्न पुरस्कार का नाम बदलकर मेजर ध्यानचंद खेल रत्न पुरस्कार कर दिया गया

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने घोषणा की है कि राजीव गांधी खेल रत्न पुरस्कार का नाम बदलकर मेजर ध्यानचंद खेल रत्न पुरस्कार किया जाएगा। प्रधान मंत्री ने कहा कि यह कदम देश भर से प्राप्त कई अनुरोधों पर आधारित था। ध्यानचंद, जिनके जन्मदिन को राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है, ने हॉकी में देश के लिए तीन ओलंपिक स्वर्ण जीते।
• इस पुरस्कार का उद्घाटन 1991-92 में हुआ था, इस पुरस्कार में एक पदक, एक प्रमाण पत्र और रु 25 लाख का नकद पुरस्कार शामिल है। खेल रत्न के पहले प्राप्तकर्ता शतरंज के दिग्गज विश्वनाथन आनंद थे। हाल के वर्षों में कुछ विजेताओं में क्रिकेटर रोहित शर्मा, पहलवान विनेश फोगट , महिला हॉकी टीम की कप्तान रानी रामपाल सहित अन्य शामिल हैं।

डॉ धृति बनर्जी को भारतीय प्राणी सर्वेक्षण के निदेशक के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया

• भारत सरकार ने भारतीय प्राणि सर्वेक्षण के निदेशक के रूप में डॉ धृति बनर्जी की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दी। वह एक विपुल वैज्ञानिक हैं, जो जन्तुभूगोल, वर्गिकी , पदविज्ञान और मॉलिक्यूलर सिस्टमैटिक्स में शोध कर रही हैं। 2016 में अपने शताब्दी समारोह के अवसर पर, बनर्जी ने "द ग्लोरियस 100 वूमेन्स साइंटिफिक कंट्रीब्यूशन इन जेडएसआई" का सह-लेखन किया था, जिसने पशु-संबंधित समूहों के क्षेत्र में महिला वैज्ञानिकों के योगदान का वर्णन किया था।
• जुलाई 1916 में स्थापित, ZSI का मुख्यालय कोलकाता में है। पर्यावरण और वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय के तहत इसके 16 क्षेत्रीय केंद्र हैं। ZSI ने अपनी स्थापना के लगभग तीन दशक बाद 1949 में महिला वैज्ञानिकों को नियुक्त करना शुरू किया।

भारत और बांग्लादेश ने आपदा प्रबंधन के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए

• भारत ने प्राथमिकता के आधार पर आपदा प्रबंधन, लचीलापन और शमन पर बांग्लादेश के साथ हाल ही में हस्ताक्षरित समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) के कार्यान्वयन पर जोर दिया है। बांग्लादेश ने आपदा रोधी अवसंरचना गठबंधन (CDRI) में शामिल होने के निमंत्रण को स्वीकार करने का निर्णय लिया है। सीडीआरआई (CDRI) राष्ट्रीय सरकारों, संयुक्त राष्ट्र एजेंसियों, बहुपक्षीय विकास बैंकों और निजी क्षेत्र का एक गठबंधन है जिसका उद्देश्य जलवायु और आपदा जोखिमों के लिए नए और मौजूदा बुनियादी ढांचे के लचीलेपन को बढ़ावा देना है।
• बांग्लादेश के विदेश मंत्री डॉ ए के अब्दुल मोमिन को लिखे एक पत्र में, विदेश मंत्री डॉ एस जयशंकर ने बांग्लादेश से आपदा प्रबंधन, लचीलापन और शमन के क्षेत्र में हाल ही में संपन्न समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) को प्राथमिकता के आधार पर लागू करने का आग्रह किया। उन्होंने आशा व्यक्त की कि इन तंत्रों से दोनों देशों को भविष्य में ऐसी चुनौतियों का सामना करने के लिए बेहतर तरीके से तैयार रहने में मदद मिलेगी।

दो बार के ओलंपियन फुटबॉलर एसएस 'बाबू' नारायण का निधन

• दो बार के ओलंपियन शंकर सुब्रमण्यम उर्फ "बाबू" नारायण का निधन हो गया। वह 1956 और 1960 के ओलंपिक के दौरान भारत के गोलकीपर थे। फुटबॉल और बास्केटबॉल  में महाराष्ट्र  का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के अलावा, नारायण भारत के सबसे विश्वसनीय गोलकीपरों में से एक के रूप में उभरे। राष्ट्रीय टीम के लिए उनके दशक के लंबे करियर में 1956 के ओलंपिक में भारत  का चौथा स्थान हासिल करना और 1964 के एशियाई खेलों में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करना भी शामिल है।
• सुब्रमण्यम का जन्म केरल के पालक्काड़ जिले में हुआ था, माटुंगा स्टूडेंट्स, माटुंगा जिमखाना, कैल्टेक्स और टाटा स्पोर्ट्स क्लब के लिए अपनी उपस्थिति के दौरान नारायण मुंबई के स्थानीय सर्किट में एक स्टार थे। वह 1964 में महाराष्ट्र के संतोष ट्रॉफी विजेता अभियान का हिस्सा थे।

ट्राइफेड ने 2021 में अपना 34वां स्थापना दिवस मनाया

• ट्राइबल को-ऑपरेटिव मार्केटिंग फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (TRIFED) ने 6 अगस्त को अपना 34वां स्थापना दिवस मनाया। ट्राइफेड (TRIFED) की स्थापना जनजातीय उत्पादों, हस्तशिल्प और गैर-इमारती वनोपज (NTFP) दोनों के लिए विपणन सहायता के माध्यम से जनजातीय विकास को बढ़ावा देने के लिए की गई थी। ट्राइफेड (TRIFED) इस दिन को एक विशेष तरीके से, उचित प्रचार के साथ, जनजातीय क्षेत्रों में व्यापार से संबंधित मुद्दों और जनजातियों के लिए उनके उत्पादों के वाणिज्य में एक उचित सौदा सुनिश्चित करने की आवश्यकता के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए मनाएगा। प्रस्तावित कार्यक्रम उन उपलब्धियों और योगदानों को भी मान्यता देगा जो जनजातियों और उनके लिए काम करने वाले लोगों ने इस संबंध में की हैं।
• ट्राइफेड की स्थापना 6 अगस्त 1987 को राष्ट्रीय स्तर की सहकारी संस्था के रूप में की गई थी जिसका मुख्य उद्देश्य आदिवासियों के सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास का था। ट्राइफेड 6 अगस्त को अपना 34वां स्थापना दिवस मनाएगा, जो ट्राइफेड की उपलब्धियों और जनजातियों के साथ-साथ इसके साथ काम करने वाले लोगों के योगदान को मान्यता देने वाला एक कार्यक्रम है।

सूर्योदय स्मॉल फाइनेंस बैंक ने ग्राहकों की मदद के लिए 'हेल्थ एंड वेलनेस सेविंग्स अकाउंट' लॉन्च किया

• सूर्योदय स्मॉल फाइनेंस बैंक (SSFB) ने C-19 महामारी के बीच ग्राहकों को अपनी संपत्ति बढ़ाने और अपने परिवार के स्वास्थ्य की देखभाल करने में मदद करने के लिए एक 'सूर्योदय स्वास्थ्य और कल्याण बचत खाता लॉन्च किया है। यह खाता आकर्षक ब्याज दर प्रदान करता है और चार सदस्यों के परिवार के लिए तीन प्रमुख लाभों के साथ आता है - रु 25 लाख का टॉप-अप स्वास्थ्य बीमा, वार्षिक स्वास्थ्य देखभाल पैकेज और ऑन-कॉल आपातकालीन एम्बुलेंस चिकित्सा देखभाल सेवाएं।
• खाता खोलने के बाद एक वर्ष के लिए टॉप-अप स्वास्थ्य बीमा और स्वास्थ्य देखभाल पैकेज निःशुल्क है। मार्च-अंत 2022 तक देश भर में 102 स्थानों पर 20 किमी की दूरी तक मुफ्त एम्बुलेंस सेवा उपलब्ध होगी। बचत खाता खोलने के लिए, ग्राहकों को रु 3 लाख का औसत मासिक बैलेंस बनाए रखना होगा और इसके लिए पात्र होना होगा प्रमुख स्वास्थ्य घोषणा पत्र के अनुसार।

 एक्सिस बैंक ने व्हाट्सएप बैंकिंग पर दस लाख ग्राहकों को पार किया

• एक्सिस बैंक ने अपने व्हाट्सएप बैंकिंग चैनल पर अब तक 60 लाख की कुल अनुरोध संख्या के साथ एक मिलियन से अधिक ग्राहकों का मील का पत्थर पार कर लिया है। एक्सिस बैंक ने जनवरी 2021 में व्हाट्सएप पर बैंकिंग सेवाएं शुरू की थीं और तब से व्हाट्सएप बैंकिंग के लिए अपने ग्राहक आधार में मजबूत जैविक वृद्धि देखी गई है।
• सेवा के लिए साइन अप करने के बाद, ग्राहक बचत खाते , क्रेडिट और डेबिट कार्ड, जमा और व्यक्तिगत ऋण के उत्पादों के बारे में पूछताछ और विवरण प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। गैर-वित्तीय सेवा अनुरोध भी शुरू किए जा सकते हैं, जैसे एटीएम का पता लगाना या क्रेडिट और डेबिट कार्ड पर उपलब्ध तीसरे पक्ष के सौदों पर अपडेट प्राप्त करना।

The government of Ladakh launched ‘Pani Maah’ to raise awareness about clean water

• ‘Pani Maah’ or water month has launched in Ladakh to inform villagers about the importance of clean water. The Ladakh government has also announced a reward of Rs 2.5 million for the first block in every district that achieves the status of ‘Har Ghar Jal’. ‘Pani Maah’ campaign will be adopt a three-pronged approach — focussing on water quality testing, planning and strategizing water supply, and seamless functioning of Pani Sabha in villages.
• Only 11.75 per cent of rural households in Ladakh have access to tap water connections. The Pani Maah campaign is expected to expedite the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the union territory.
• During this campaign, village communities will be encouraged to send water samples to water quality laboratories for quality checks and monitoring.

 The first Heart Failure Biobank starts at SCTIMST in Kerala

• The first Heart Failure Biobank of the country has come up at the National Centre for Advanced Research and Excellence in HF (CARE-HF) at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Kerala. The Biobank is open to study genetic, metabolomics and proteomic markers of health outcomes in heart-failure patients.
• Biobanks is an important resource of collections of high-quality biological human samples that can be used to understand molecular pathways and to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of heart failure.
• The biospecimens include blood, serum and tissue samples obtained during open-heart surgery and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and genomic DNA collected from heart-failure patients.

Indian Wrestler Labhanshu Sharma wins Bharat Kesari Wrestling Dangal for Uttarakhand

• Indian Wrestler Labhanshu Sharma won the Bharat Kesari Wrestling Dangal 2021 organised in Tamil Nadu. 20 years since the formation of Uttarakhand, Labhanshu has broken the drought and won the title of Bharat Kesari for the state.
• With 15 gold medals at the state level and 10 medals at the national level and 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal in the International Wrestling competitions; Labhanshu is already set to bring glory to the nation.

Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award renamed as Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award

• PM Narendra Modi has announced that Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award will be renamed as Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. The Prime Minister said the move was based on the numerous requests he received from across the nation. Dhyan Chand, whose birthday is celebrated as National Sports Day, won three Olympic golds for the country in Hockey.
• The award was inaugurated in 1991-92, the award comprises a medallion, a certificate, and a cash prize of ₹ 25 lakh. The first recipient of the Khel Ratna was chess legend, Viswanathan Anand. Some of the winners in recent years include cricketer Rohit Sharma, wrestler Vinesh Phogat, women’s hockey team captain Rani Rampal, among others.

Dr Dhriti Banerjee appointed as the director of the Zoological Survey of India

• The Indian government approved the appointment of Dr Dhriti Banerjee as the director of the Zoological Survey of India. She is a prolific scientist, conducting research in zoogeography, taxonomy, morphology and molecular systematics. On the occasion of its centenary celebrations in 2016, Banerjee had co-authored the “The Glorious 100 Women’s Scientific Contribution in ZSI”, which chronicled the contributions of women scientists in the domain of animal-related groups.
• Founded in July 1916, the ZSI has its headquarters in Kolkata. It has 16 regional centres under the ministry of environment and forest and climate change. ZSI started hiring women scientists as late as 1949, nearly three decades since its inception.

India and Bangladesh sign an MoU for disaster management

• India has emphasized the implementation of the recently-signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh over disaster management, resilience and mitigation on a priority basis. Bangladesh has decided to accept the invitation to join the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI). CDRI is a coalition of national governments, UN agencies, multilateral development banks and the private sector which aims to promote resilience of new and existing infrastructure to climate and disaster risks.
• In a letter written to Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen, Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar urged Bangladesh to implement the recently concluded MoU in the field of disaster management, resilience and mitigation on a priority basis. He expressed the hope that these mechanisms will help the two countries to remain better prepared to face such challenges in the future.

 OBITUARY

Two-times Olympian footballer S.S. ‘Babu’ Nayaran passed away

• Two-times Olympian Shankar Subramaniam, alias “Babu” Nayaran passed away. He was India’s goalkeeper during the 1956 and 1960 Olympics. Besides representing Maharashtra in football and basketball, Narayan emerged as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in India. His decade-long career for the national team also included the stellar effort of India finishing fourth in the 1956 Olympics and representing India in the 1964 Asian Games.
• Subramaniam was born in Palakkad district in Kerala, Narayan was a star in Mumbai’s local circuit during his appearances for Matunga Students, Matunga Gymkhana, Caltex and Tata Sports Club. He was part of Maharashtra’s Santosh Trophy-winning campaign in 1964.

TRIFED celebrates its 34th Foundation Day in 2021

• Tribal Co-operative Marketing Federation of India (TRIFED) has celebrated its 34th foundation day on 6th August. TRIFED was founded to drive tribal development through marketing support for tribal products, both, handicrafts and Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP). TRIFED will celebrate this day in a special manner, with due publicity, to raise awareness among one and all regarding the issues related to trade in tribal areas, and the need to ensure a fair deal for the tribes in the commerce of their products. The proposed event shall also recognize the achievements and contributions that the tribes and people working for them have made in this regard.
• TRIFED was established on the 6th of August 1987 as a National level Cooperative body with the major objective of socio-economic development of tribals. TRIFED will be celebrating its 34th Foundation Day on August 6, an event to recognise TRIFEDs achievements and the contribution of Tribes as well as people working with it.

Suryoday Small Finance Bank has launched ‘Health and Wellness Savings account for help the customers

• Suryoday Small Finance Bank (SSFB) has launched a ‘Suryoday Health and Wellness Savings Account’ to help customers grow their wealth and also take care of their family’s health amid the covid-19 pandemic. The account offers an attractive interest rate and comes with three major benefits for a family of four — top-up health insurance of ₹25 lakh, annual healthcare package and on-call emergency ambulance medical care services.
• Top-up health insurance and healthcare package are free of charge for one year after opening the account. Free ambulance service up to a distance of 20 km will be available at 102 locations across the country till March-end 2022. For opening the savings account, customers will need to maintain an average monthly balance of ₹3 lakh and have to be eligible as per the key health declaration form.

 Axis Bank crossed one million customers on WhatsApp banking

• Axis Bank has crossed the milestone of over one million customers on its WhatsApp banking channel with a total request count of 6 million till now. Axis Bank had launched banking services on WhatsApp in January 2021 and has since witnessed robust organic growth in its customer base for WhatsApp banking.
• After signing up for the service, customers can inquire and get details of products across savings account, credit and debit cards, deposits and personal loans. Non-financial service requests can also be initiated, such as locating ATMs or getting updates on third-party deals available on credit and debit cards.
