Google , 2021 तक दिल्ली में अपना दूसरा क्लाउड इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर लॉन्च करेगा:

• Google ने भारत में दिल्ली में अपना दूसरा क्लाउड क्षेत्र खोलने की योजना बनाई है।

• दिल्ली क्लाउड क्षेत्र 2021 में लॉन्च होने की उम्मीद है, और सेवा अवरोधों से बचाने के लिए तीन जोन होंगे।
• यह भारत में Google का दूसरा क्लाउड क्षेत्र होगा। पहला क्षेत्र 2017 में मुंबई में लॉन्च किया गया था

लक्समबर्ग सार्वजनिक परिवहन मुक्त बनाने वाला पहला देश बन गया:

• ट्रैफिक जाम को कम करने के प्रयास में, लक्ज़मबर्ग 29 फरवरी से सभी सार्वजनिक परिवहन को मुक्त बनाने वाला दुनिया का पहला देश बन गया है। यह पहली बार है कि मुफ्त सार्वजनिक परिवहन की पेशकश के निर्णय ने पूरे देश को कवर किया है, परिवहन मंत्रालय कहा गया है।
• निर्णय लक्ज़मबर्ग में देखा गया है ताकि सड़कों पर भीड़ को कम किया जा सके। इस निर्णय के परिणामस्वरूप, प्रत्येक व्यक्ति प्रति वर्ष लगभग 100 यूरो ($ 110) बचाने में सक्षम होगा।

बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

EPFO ने 2019-20 के लिए पीएफ जमा पर ब्याज दर को घटाकर 8.5 प्रतिशत कर दिया है:

• सेवानिवृत्ति निधि निकाय, कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन, (EPFO) ने चालू वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 के लिए भविष्य निधि जमाओं पर ब्याज दर घटाकर 8.5 प्रतिशत कर दी है। हालांकि, यह 8.65 प्रतिशत थी।
• यह घोषणा 5 मार्च 2020 को नई दिल्ली में श्रम मंत्री संतोष गंगवार द्वारा की गई थी।

भारत में वैश्विक स्तर पर 3 सबसे अधिक व्यापार से संबंधित अवैध वित्तीय प्रवाह है:

• अमेरिका के थिंक टैंक के अनुसार, भारत में 5 अरब डॉलर (लगभग 6.08 लाख करोड़ रुपये) या सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) के 3.05 प्रतिशत के साथ 135 देशों के बीच भारत में तीसरा सबसे अधिक व्यापार से संबंधित अवैध वित्तीय प्रवाह है। ग्लोबल फाइनेंशियल इंटीग्रिटी (GFI)।
• GFI अवैध प्रवाह निधि के रूप में वर्गीकृत करता है जो अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा पर अवैध रूप से अर्जित, स्थानांतरित या उपयोग की जाती हैं। अवैध प्रवाह के प्राथमिक स्रोतों में भव्य भ्रष्टाचार, वाणिज्यिक कर चोरी और अंतरराष्ट्रीय अपराध शामिल हैं।

इलाहाबाद बैंक का भारतीय बैंक में विलय किया जाएगा:

• 1 अप्रैल से देश के 10 सरकारी बैंकों को 4 बैंकों में बदल दिया जाएगा। इलाहाबाद बैंक का विलय भारतीय बैंक में किया जाएगा। नए संस्थान का कारोबार दोनों बैंकों के विलय के बाद आने वाले दो से तीन वर्षों में 10 लाख करोड़ रुपये का होगा।
• 31 दिसंबर, 2019 तक, भारतीय बैंक का 4.5 लाख करोड़ रुपये का कारोबार है और देश भर में इसकी 2,887 शाखाएँ हैं। इसके अलावा, इलाहाबाद बैंक की कीमत 3.94 लाख करोड़ रुपये है और इसकी 3,175 शाखाएँ हैं।
• चेन्नई का इंडियन बैंक और कोलकाता का इलाहाबाद बैंक देश के बैंकिंग क्षेत्र में 7 वें सबसे बड़े बैंक के रूप में उभरेंगे।

बांग्लादेश यात्रा के दौरान पीएम मोदी के साथ किया जाएगा सर्वोच्च सम्मान:

• बांग्लादेश के विदेश मंत्री ए.के. अब्दुल मोमन ने कहा है कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को मुजीब शताब्दी समारोह में भाग लेने के लिए बांग्लादेश की आगामी यात्रा के दौरान सर्वोच्च सम्मान के साथ माना जाएगा।
• बांग्लादेश सरकार ने प्रधान मंत्री मोदी को भारत के प्रमुख के रूप में आमंत्रित किया है, जो मुक्ति युद्ध के दौरान इसका निकटतम सहयोगी था।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र के पूर्व महासचिव जेवियर पेरेज़ डी कुएलर का निधन:

• पेरू के दो-अवधि के संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव, जेवियर पेरेज़ डी क्युएलर का निधन 100 वर्ष की आयु में 04 मार्च, 2020 को हुआ। उन्होंने 1988 में ईरान और इराक के बीच हुए ऐतिहासिक युद्धविराम में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
• उन्होंने जनवरी 1982 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव की भूमिका निभाई और 1991 तक पद के लिए सेवा प्रदान की। उन्होंने फ्रांस में पेरू के राजदूत के रूप में भी काम किया था।

नियुक्ति और इस्तीफे

अमरीश राऊ को पाइन लैब्स के CEO के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया:

• अमरीश राऊ को एक प्रमुख व्यापारी वाणिज्य मंच कंपनी, पाइन लैब्स के सीईओ के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।
• राउ ने स्टार्ट अप साइट्रस पे की स्थापना की, जिसे पेयू को बेच दिया गया था, विक्की बिंद्रा की जगह लेता है, जो दो साल के कार्यकाल के बाद CEO के रूप में सैन फ्रांसिस्को वापस जा रहे हैं, कंपनी ने एक बयान में कहा।

Google to launch its second cloud infrastructure in Delhi by 2021:

• Google has planned to open its second cloud region in India in Delhi.
• The Delhi cloud region is expected to be launched in 2021, and will have three zones to protect against service disruptions.
• It will be the Google’s second cloud region in India. The first region was launched in Mumbai in 2017.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

Luxembourg becomes first country to make all public transport free:

• In an attempt to reduce traffic jams, Luxembourg has become the first country in the world to make all public transport free from February 29. This is the first time that the decision to offer free public transport has covered an entire country, the transport ministry stated.
• The decision has been observed in Luxembourg so as to bring down the congestion on streets. As a result of this decision, every person will be able to save around 100 euros ($110) per year.

BANKING AND ECONOMY

EPFO lowers interest rate on PF deposits to 8.5 percent for 2019-20:

• Retirement fund body, Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, (EPFO) has lowered the interest rate on provident fund deposits to 8.5 percent for the current financial year 2019-20.Earlier it was 8.65 percent.
• This announcement was made by Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar in New Delhi on 5 March 2020

India has 3rd highest trade-related illicit financial flow globally:

• India has the third highest trade-related illicit financial flow among 135 countries with 5 billion dollars (about Rs 6.08 lakh crore) or 3.05 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP) escaping the government’s tax net, according to US-based think tank Global Financial Integrity (GFI).
• The GFI classifies as illicit flow funds that are illegally earned, transferred or utilised across an international border. The primary sources of illicit flows include grand corruption, commercial tax evasion and transnational crime.

Allahabad Bank to be merged with Indian Bank:

• The 10 state-run banks of the country will be converted into 4 banks from April 1 onwards. Allahabad Bank will be merged with the Indian Bank. The business of the new institute will be Rs 10 lakh crore in the coming two to three years after the merger of the two banks.
• As of December 31, 2019, Indian Bank has a turnover of Rs 4.5 lakh crore and has 2,887 branches across the country. Apart from this, the Allahabad Bank is worth Rs 3.94 lakh crore and has 3,175 branches.
• Chennai's Indian Bank and Kolkata's Allahabad Bank will emerge as the 7th largest bank in the banking sector of the country.

PM Modi will be treated with highest honour during Bangladesh visit:

• Foreign Minister of Bangladesh A.K. Abdul Momen has stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be treated with the highest honour during his forthcoming visit to Bangladesh to attend the Mujib Centenary Celebrations.
• The Bangladesh govt has invited Prime Minister Modi as the premier of India, which was its closest ally during the liberation war.

OBITUARY

Former UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar passes away:

• Peruvian two-term UN secretary-general, Javier Perez de Cuellar died on March 04, 2020 at the age of 100. He played a key role in a historic ceasefire between Iran and Iraq in 1988.
• He took over the role of UN secretary-general in January 1982 and had served the post for term terms till 1991. He had also served as Peru’s Ambassador to France.

APPOINTMENTS AND RESIGNATIONS

Amrish Rau appointed as CEO of Pine Labs:

• Amrish Rau has been appointed as CEO of Pine Labs, a leading merchant commerce platform company.
• Rau founded the start up Citrus Pay, which was sold off to Pay U, replaces Vicky Bindra who after a two-year stint as CEO is moving back to San Francisco, the company stated in a statement.
