Apple $3 ट्रिलियन बाजार मूल्य हासिल करने वाली पहली कंपनी बनी

• Apple Inc. का शेयर बाजार मूल्य $3 ट्रिलियन तक पहुंच गया और ऐसा करने वाली विश्‍व की पहली कंपनी बन गई। Apple का मार्केट कैप $ 182.86 प्रति शेयर पर पहुंच गया, जिससे यह $ 3 ट्रिलियन का आंकड़ा छूने वाली विश्‍व की पहली कंपनी बन गई। हालांकि मार्क हिट करने के तुरंत बाद, शेयर मूल्य इसके नीचे गिर गया और बाजार बंद होने तक फिर से नहीं बढ़ा। IPhone निर्माता ने 2020 में $ 2 ट्रिलियन और 2018 में $ 1 ट्रिलियन से अधिक की कमाई की।
• विश्‍व की सबसे मूल्यवान कंपनी मील के पत्थर पर पहुंच गई क्योंकि निवेशकों ने शर्त लगाई कि उपभोक्ता iPhones, MacBooks और Apple TV और Apple Music जैसी सेवाओं के लिए शीर्ष डॉलर का भुगतान करना जारी रखेंगे। काउंटरप्वाइंट रिसर्च के हालिया आंकड़ों से पता चलता है कि चीन में, विश्‍व के सबसे बड़े स्मार्टफोन बाजार में, ऐप्पल ने वीवो और श्याओमी जैसे प्रतिद्वंद्वियों को पछाड़ते हुए लगातार दूसरे महीने बढ़त बनाए रखी।

 ब्रिटेन के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री टोनी ब्लेयर 'सर टोनी', शीर्ष शाही आदेश में शामिल

 फ्रांस में खोजा गया C-19 का आईएचयू वैरिएंट

• फ्रांस में वैज्ञानिकों और विशेषज्ञों ने कथित तौर पर C-19 के एक नए वैरिएंट 'IHU' की पहचान की है। नए वैरिएंट को ओमाइक्रोन की तुलना में अधिक उत्परिवर्तित तनाव कहा जाता है। B.1.640.2 या IHU वैरिएंट को सबसे पहले संस्थान IHU Mediterranee Infection में शिक्षाविदों द्वारा पहचाना गया था और इसमें 46 उत्परिवर्तन शामिल हैं, जो कि ओमाइक्रोन से अधिक है। मार्सिले के पास इस नए वैरिएंट के लगभग 12 मामले सामने आए हैं और इसे अफ्रीकी देश कैमरून से जोड़ा गया है। लेकिन, विश्‍व के अधिकांश हिस्सों में ओमाइक्रोन स्ट्रेन अभी भी हावी है।
• यह नया वैरिएंट एक बड़ा खतरा हो सकता है, हालांकि, फ्रांस के अलावा अन्य देशों में अब तक मामले दर्ज नहीं किए गए हैं और विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) द्वारा 'जांच के तहत वैरिएंट' के रूप में लेबल नहीं किया गया है।

केंद्रीय मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने लॉन्च किया NEAT 3.0

• केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री, धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने प्रौद्योगिकी के लिए राष्ट्रीय शैक्षिक गठबंधन (एनईएटी 3.0), और अखिल भारतीय तकनीकी शिक्षा परिषद (एआईसीटीई) द्वारा निर्धारित क्षेत्रीय भाषा की पाठ्यपुस्तकों को लॉन्च किया है। NEAT 3.0 का उद्देश्य छात्रों को एक ही मंच पर सर्वोत्तम विकसित एड-टेक समाधान और पाठ्यक्रम प्रदान करना है। यह विशेष रूप से आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर छात्रों के लिए फायदेमंद होगा। यह सरकार (इसकी कार्यान्वयन एजेंसी एआईसीटीई के माध्यम से) और शिक्षा प्रौद्योगिकी कंपनियों के बीच एक सार्वजनिक-निजी भागीदारी मॉडल है।
• 58 वैश्विक और भारतीय एड-टेक स्टार्टअप कंपनियां इस समाधान के लिए एक साथ आई हैं और सीखने के परिणामों को बढ़ाने, रोजगार योग्य कौशल विकसित करने के साथ-साथ सीखने के नुकसान को दूर करने के लिए 100 पाठ्यक्रम और ई-संसाधनों की पेशकश कर रही हैं। एनईएटी के माध्यम से वैश्विक एड-टेक कंपनियों और भारतीय स्टार्ट-अप के सहयोग से भारत के डिजिटल शिक्षा के आधार पर निर्माण करने में मदद मिलेगी।

 सबसे ज्यादा ओडीएफ प्लस गांवों की सूची में तेलंगाना देश में पहले स्थान पर

• स्वच्छ भारत मिशन (ग्रामीण) चरण- II कार्यक्रम के तहत 31 दिसंबर, 2021 तक सबसे अधिक खुले में शौच मुक्त (ओडीएफ प्लस) गांवों की सूची में तेलंगाना देश में पहले स्थान पर था। राज्य के 14,200 गांवों में से 13,737 गांव ओडीएफ प्लस सूची में हैं, जो 96.74 फीसदी है। इसके बाद तमिलनाडु में 4,432 गांव (35.39%) और कर्नाटक में 1,511 गांव (5.59%) हैं। गुजरात ने केवल 83 गांवों (0.45%) के साथ 17वां स्थान प्राप्त किया।
• राज्य सरकार ने गांवों के समग्र विकास को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एक नया तेलंगाना पंचायत राज अधिनियम बनाया है। कल्याणकारी कार्यक्रमों के सुचारू क्रियान्वयन, कड़ी निगरानी, डिजिटल रिपोर्टिंग और गांवों में सुशासन की व्यापकता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए प्रत्येक पंचायत में एक सचिव को तैनात किया गया है। गांवों में उचित स्वच्छता बनाए रखने के लिए बहुउद्देश्यीय कार्यकर्ता नियुक्त किए गए हैं। सभी ग्राम पंचायतों में 12,769 समर्पित कम्पोस्ट शेड हैं। गांवों में हरियाली के लिए पौधों को पानी देने के लिए टैंकर भी उपलब्ध कराए गए हैं।

 नियुक्ति एवं इस्‍तीफे

राजनीतिक गतिरोध के बीच सूडान के हमदोक ने प्रधानमंत्री पद से दिया इस्तीफा

• सूडान के प्रधान मंत्री, अब्दुल्ला हमदोक ने 02 जनवरी, 2022 को अपने इस्तीफे की घोषणा की है। यह निर्णय एक सैन्य तख्तापलट का अनुसरण करता है जिसके कारण देश में राजनीतिक गतिरोध और व्यापक लोकतंत्र समर्थक विरोध हुआ। 66 वर्षीय हमदोक ने 2019 से 2022 तक सूडान के 15वें प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया।
• श्री हमदोक ने एक "राष्ट्रीय चार्टर" पर सहमत होने और संक्रमण को पूरा करने के लिए "एक रोडमैप तैयार करने" के लिए बातचीत का आह्वान किया। अक्टूबर 2019 में एक लोकप्रिय विद्रोह के बाद लंबे समय से निरंकुश उमर अल-बशीर और उनकी इस्लामी सरकार को उखाड़ फेंकने के लिए मजबूर होने के बाद अक्टूबर तख्तापलट ने सूडान की लोकतंत्र में जाने की योजना को बरकरार रखा था।

 अलका मित्तल सीएमडी के रूप में ओएनजीसी की प्रमुख बनने वाली पहली महिला बनीं

• ओएनजीसी में निदेशक मानव संसाधन, अलका मित्तल को भारत के सबसे बड़े तेल और गैस उत्पादक तेल और प्राकृतिक गैस निगम (ONGC) के नए अंतरिम अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक (सीएमडी) के रूप में अतिरिक्त प्रभार दिया गया है। वह महारत्न कंपनी में शीर्ष पद संभालने वाली पहली महिला हैं। वह सुभाष कुमार की जगह लेंगी, जो 31 दिसंबर को सेवानिवृत्त हुए थे। वह अंतरिम प्रमुख के रूप में भी कार्यरत थे।
• अलका मित्तल को 1 जनवरी, 2022 से छह महीने की अवधि के लिए या पद पर नियमित पदधारी की नियुक्ति तक, या अगले आदेश तक, जो भी पहले हो, तक के लिए नियुक्त किया गया है।

भारतीय मूल के अशोक एलुस्वामी टेस्ला की ऑटोपायलट टीम में नियुक्त होने वाले पहले कर्मचारी

• टेस्ला के संस्थापक और सीईओ एलोन मस्क, जो लोगों की भर्ती के लिए सोशल मीडिया का उपयोग कर रहे हैं, ने खुलासा किया है कि भारतीय मूल के अशोक एलुस्वामी उनकी इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन कंपनी की ऑटोपायलट टीम के लिए काम पर रखने वाले पहले कर्मचारी थे।टेस्ला में शामिल होने से पहले, श्री एलुस्वामी वोक्सवैगन इलेक्ट्रॉनिक रिसर्च लैब और वैबको वाहन नियंत्रण प्रणाली से जुड़े थे।
• अशोक एलुस्वामी ने कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग गिंडी, चेन्नई से इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और संचार इंजीनियरिंग में स्नातक की डिग्री और कार्नेगी मेलन विश्वविद्यालय से रोबोटिक्स सिस्टम डेवलपमेंट में मास्टर डिग्री प्राप्त की है।

 बैंकिंग और आर्थिक

एसबीआई, आईसीआईसीआई बैंक, एचडीएफसी बैंक व्यवस्थित रूप से महत्वपूर्ण बैंक बने रहेंगे: आरबीआई

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने भारतीय स्टेट बैंक, आईसीआईसीआई बैंक और एचडीएफसी बैंक को घरेलू व्यवस्थित रूप से महत्वपूर्ण बैंकों (डी-एसआईबी) के रूप में बरकरार रखा है। ये तीन बैंक 04 सितंबर, 2017 से आरबीआई द्वारा प्रकाशित डी-एसआईबी सूची में बने हुए हैं। घरेलू व्यवस्थित रूप से महत्वपूर्ण बैंक वे बैंक हैं जो विफल होने पर अर्थव्यवस्था पर महत्वपूर्ण प्रभाव डालते हैं।
• D-SIB बैंकों को 5 बकेट में वर्गीकृत किया गया है। बकेट 1, बकेट 2, बकेट 3, बकेट 4 और बकेट 5। बकेट 5 सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है और उसके बाद घटते क्रम में अन्य है। बकेट 3 में स्टेट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया, जबकि बकेट 1 में आईसीआईसीआई बैंक और एचडीएफसी बैंक हैं। अद्यतन सूची 31 मार्च, 2021 तक बैंकों से एकत्र किए गए आंकड़ों पर आधारित है।

Apple becomes first company to hit $3 trillion market value

• The stock market value of Apple Inc. hit $3 trillion and became the world’s first company to do so. The market cap of Apple hit $182.86 per share, which made it the world’s first company to touch the $3 trillion mark. However shortly after hitting the mark, the share value dipped below it and did not rise again until the market closed. The iPhone maker passed $2 trillion in 2020 and over $1 trillion in 2018.
• The world’s most valuable company reached the milestone as investors bet that consumers will continue to shell out top dollar for iPhones, MacBooks and services such as Apple TV and Apple Music. In China, the world’s largest smartphone market, Apple continued to lead for the second straight month, beating rivals such as Vivo and Xiaomi, recent data from CounterPoint Research showed.

 Ex-UK PM Tony Blair now 'Sir Tony', joins top royal order

• Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Baroness Amos are to be appointed as members of the Order of the Garter, England’s oldest and most senior order of chivalry. The former prime minister now will be known as ‘Sir Tony’. The appointments are the personal choice of the Queen, who has up to 24 “knight and lady companions”. The ceremonial order, founded in 1348, is a recognition of significant public service and made without prime ministerial advice.
• Under Sir Tony’s leadership, the UK joined the US-led invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan – an official inquiry into the 2003 Iraq war was strongly critical of his government and UK military chiefs. He famously referred to Diana, Princess of Wales, as the “people’s princess” after her death.

 IHU Variant of C-19 Detected in France 

• Scientists and experts in France have reportedly identified a new variant of C-19 termed ‘IHU’. The new variant is said to be a more mutated strain than Omicron. The B.1.640.2 or IHU variant was first identified by the academics at institute IHU Mediterranee Infection and contains 46 mutations, which is more than Omicron. Nearly 12 cases of this new variant have been reported near Marseilles and has been linked to the African country Cameroon. But, the Omicron strain is still dominating in most parts of the world.
• This new variant can be a major threat, however, the cases have not been reported so far in countries other than France and is not labelled as ‘variant under investigation’ by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

 NATIONAL

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched NEAT 3.0

• Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan has launched National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT 3.0), and regional language textbooks prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). NEAT 3.0 aims to provide the best-developed ed-tech solutions and courses to students on a single platform. It will be beneficial especially among the economically disadvantaged students. It is a Public-Private Partnership model between the Government (through its implementing agency AICTE) and the Education Technology companies.
• 58 global and Indian ed-tech startup companies have come together for this solution and are offering 100 courses and e-resources to enhance learning outcomes, developing employable skills as well as overcome learning loss. The collaboration of global ed-tech companies and Indian start-ups by way of NEAT will help to build on the digital education bedrock of India.

Telangana stood first in the country in the list of highest number of ODF Plus villages

• Telangana stood first in the country in the list of the highest number of open defecation free (ODF Plus) villages under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase-II programme till December 31, 2021. As many as 13,737 out of 14,200 villages in the State are on the ODF Plus list, which is 96.74%. This was followed by Tamil Nadu with 4,432 villages (35.39%) and Karnataka with 1,511 villages (5.59%). Gujarat took the 17th position with only 83 villages (0.45%).
• The State government has enacted a new Telangana Panchayat Raj Act to ensure the holistic development of villages. A secretary has been posted in every panchayat for smooth execution of welfare programmes, close monitoring, digital reporting and to ensure the prevalence of good governance in villages. Multi-purpose workers have been appointed to maintain proper sanitation in villages. There are 12,769 dedicated compost sheds in all gram panchayats. Tankers have also been provided to water the plants for greenery in villages.

Sudan’s Hamdok resigns as prime minister amid political deadlock

• Prime Minister of Sudan, Abdalla Hamdok has announced his resignation on January 02, 2022. The decision follows a military coup that caused political deadlock and widespread pro-democracy protests in the country. The 66-year-old Hamdok served as the 15th Prime Minister of Sudan from 2019 to 2022.
• Mr Hamdok called for a dialogue to agree on a “national charter” and to “draw a roadmap” to complete the transition. The October coup had upended Sudan’s plans to move to democracy after a popular uprising forced the military’s overthrow of longtime autocrat Omar al-Bashir and his Islamist government in April 2019.

 Alka Mittal becomes first woman to head ONGC as CMD

• Director HR in ONGC, Alka Mittal has been given the additional charge as the new interim chairman and managing director (CMD) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), the largest oil and gas producer in India. She is the first woman to head the top post at the Maharatna company. She replaces Subhash Kumar who superannuated on December 31. He was also serving as an interim head.
• Alka Mittal has been appointed for a period of six months with effect from January 1, 2022, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, or until further order, whichever is the earliest.

Indian-origin Ashok Elluswamy was first employee to be hired for Tesla's Autopilot team: Elon Musk

• Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk, who has been using social media to recruit people, has disclosed that Indian-origin Ashok Elluswamy was the first employee to be hired for his electric vehicle company’s Autopilot team. Before joining Tesla, Mr Elluswamy was associated with Volkswagen Electronic Research Lab and WABCO Vehicle Control System.
• Ashok Elluswamy holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai and a Master’s degree in Robotics System Development from Carnegie Mellon University.

 BANKING AND ECONOMIC

SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank continue to remain systemically important banks: RBI

• Reserve Bank of India has retained State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank as Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs). These three banks have continued to be on the D-SIBs list published by RBI, since Sep 04, 2017. Domestic Systemically Important Banks are those banks which if fail would have a significant impact on the economy.
• The D-SIBs banks are classified into 5 buckets. Bucket 1, Bucket 2, Bucket 3, Bucket 4 and Bucket 5. With Bucket 5 being the most important followed by rest in decreasing order. State Bank of India is in Bucket 3, while ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank are in Bucket 1. The updated list is based on the data collected from banks as of March 31, 2021.
