भारत विश्‍व का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा स्टार्टअप इकोसिस्टम बना

• हुरुन रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट ने हुरुन इंडिया फ्यूचर यूनिकॉर्न लिस्ट 2021 जारी की है, जिसके अनुसार भारत विश्‍व का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा यूनिकॉर्न/स्टार्टअप इकोसिस्टम है। इसमें अमेरिका शीर्ष पर है जिसके बाद चीन दूसरे स्थान पर है। सूची के अनुसार वर्तमान में भारत में कुल 51 यूनीकॉर्न स्टार्टअप हैं, जबकि संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में 396 और चीन में 277 यूनीकॉर्न स्टार्टअप हैं।
• Zilingo 310 अमरीकी डालर के वित्त पोषण के साथ भारत में रैंकिंग में शीर्ष यूनीकॉर्न स्टार्टअप है। ज़िलिंगो का मुख्यालय सिंगापुर में है। एक शहर में मुख्यालय वाले यूनिकॉर्न की संख्या के मामले में बेंगलुरु शीर्ष भारतीय शहर है। बेंगलुरु में 31 यूनीकॉर्न स्टार्टअप हैं और उसके बाद मुंबई में 12 यूनीकॉर्न स्टार्टअप हैं।

महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्री ने अखिल भारतीय आयुर्वेद संस्थान में न्यूट्री गार्डन का उद्घाटन किया

• केंद्रीय महिला और बाल विकास मंत्री, स्मृति जुबिन ईरानी ने अखिल भारतीय आयुर्वेद संस्थान (AIIA) में पोषण माह- 2021 की शुरुआत को चिह्नित करने के लिए न्यूट्री गार्डन का उद्घाटन किया। शिगरू (सहजन) और आंवला के पौधे भी लगाए गए। आयुष मंत्रालय के निर्देशन में एआईआईए (AIIA), नई दिल्ली ने पोषण माह- 2021 के उत्सव की शुरुआत की है।
• न्यूट्री किचन गार्डन / न्यूट्री गार्डन पूरे वर्ष परिवार की आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने के लिए आवासीय घरों में या उनके आसपास पोषक तत्वों से भरपूर फसलों को लगाने और कटाई की एक विधि है।
• शहरी क्षेत्रों में न्यूट्री किचन गार्डनिंग को रूफटॉप गार्डनिंग, टैरेस गार्डनिंग, वर्टिकल गार्डनिंग और कंटेनर गार्डनिंग के रूप में बढ़ावा दिया जा सकता है।
• ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में घरों के बैकयार्ड में न्यूट्री किचन गार्डन को बढ़ावा दिया जा सकता है।

पत्रकार कल्याण योजना के मौजूदा दिशा-निर्देशों की समीक्षा के लिए सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय ने समिति का गठन किया

• सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय ने पत्रकार कल्याण योजना (JWS) के मौजूदा दिशानिर्देशों की समीक्षा के लिए एक समिति बनाने का फैसला किया है। प्रसार भारती बोर्ड के सदस्य अशोक कुमार टंडन के अध्यक्ष के रूप में 12 सदस्यीय समिति, योजना के तहत मृत्यु के साथ-साथ अन्य मामलों में अनुग्रह भुगतान की मात्रा को संशोधित करेगी। समिति के संदर्भ की शर्तों (ToR) में अनुग्रह भुगतान की मात्रा में इस तरह के संशोधन की आवश्यकता की जांच करना शामिल है।
• समिति योजना के तहत लाभ प्राप्त करने के लिए मान्यता प्राप्त और गैर-मान्यता प्राप्त पत्रकारों के बीच भेदभाव या समानता के पहलू पर गौर करेगी। समिति दो महीने के भीतर अपनी सिफारिशें देगी और इसकी बैठकें आयोजित करने के लिए सभी सचिवीय सहायता प्रेस सूचना ब्यूरो (PIB) द्वारा प्रदान की जाएगी।

 गुजरात गांधीनगर में 12वें डिफेंस एक्सपो-2022 की मेजबानी करेगा

• अगला डिफेंस एक्सपो 2022 में गुजरात द्वारा आयोजित किया जाएगा। मुख्यमंत्री विजय रूपाणी ने इसकी घोषणा की। इस संबंध में रक्षा उत्पादन विभाग और गुजरात सरकार के बीच समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए हैं। इस द्विवार्षिक कार्यक्रम में लगभग 100 देशों के भाग लेने की उम्मीद है।
• डिफेंस एक्सपो-2022 अगले वर्ष 10 से 13 मार्च तक गांधीनगर में आयोजित किया जाएगा। डिफेंस एक्सपो 2022 का उद्देश्य मेक इन इंडिया से विश्‍व के लिए आगे बढ़ना है। डिफेंस एक्सपो-2022 भारत को डिफेंस मैन्युफैक्चरिंग हब बनाने पर फोकस करेगा।

 छठे पूर्वी आर्थिक मंच 2021 में प्रधानमंत्री का वर्चुअल-एड्रेस

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वीडियो कांफ्रेसिंग के माध्यम से रूस के व्लादिवोस्तोक में आयोजित छठे पूर्वी आर्थिक मंच के पूर्ण सत्र को संबोधित किया। पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्री, हरदीप सिंह पुरी और प्रमुख भारतीय तेल और गैस कंपनियों के नेतृत्व में एक भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल रूस में EEF शिखर सम्मेलन 2021 में भाग ले रहा है।
• EEF के अलावा, पेट्रोलियम मंत्री ऊर्जा क्षेत्र में द्विपक्षीय ऊर्जा सहयोग की समीक्षा करने के लिए रूसी ऊर्जा मंत्री निकोले शुलगिनोव के साथ भी बैठक करेंगे और भारतीय और रूसी कंपनियों के बीच सहयोग पर चर्चा करने के लिए सुदूर पूर्व और आर्कटिक अलेक्सी चेकुनकोव के विकास के लिए रूसी मंत्री के साथ बैठक करेंगे। इसके आलावा पेट्रोलियम मंत्री भारत-रूस व्यापार वार्ता की सह-अध्यक्षता भी करेंगे।

टोक्यो पैरालिंपिक: निशानेबाज मनीष नरवाल ने जीता गोल्ड

• भारतीय निशानेबाज मनीष नरवाल और सिंहराज अधाना ने असाका शूटिंग रेंज में पी4-मिक्स्ड 50 मीटर पिस्टल एसएच1 फाइनल में क्रमश: स्वर्ण और रजत पदक जीता। 19 वर्षीय मनीष ने 218.2 अंक हासिल करके पैरालंपिक रिकॉर्ड बनाया और स्वर्ण पदक जीता, जबकि सिंहराज ने 216.7 अंकों के साथ टोक्यो पैरालिंपिक का अपना दूसरा पदक हासिल किया। रूसी पैरालंपिक समिति (RPC) के सर्गेई मालिशेव ने कांस्य पदक जीता।
• इस पैरालिंपिक में भारत अब पदक तालिका में 15वें स्थान पर है। अब तक तीन स्वर्ण, सात रजत और पांच कांस्य पदक जीते हैं। यह पैरा खेलों के एकल संस्करण में भारत का सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन है। इसने रियो 2016 में चार पदक और 1984 पैरालिंपिक में चार पदक जीते थे।

 पैरालिंपिक 2020: आर्चर हरविंदर सिंह ने जीता कांस्य पदक

• पैरालंपिक 2020 में, भारत के शीर्ष तीरंदाज हरविंदर सिंह ने पुरुषों के व्यक्तिगत रिकर्व ओपन में कांस्य पदक जीता है। 31 वर्षीय पैरालंपिक में पदक जीतने वाले भारत के पहले तीरंदाज बन गए हैं। इस जीत के साथ, टोक्यो में चल रहे पैरालिंपिक खेलों में भारत का पदक 13 [2G,6S,5B] तक पहुंच गया है।
• हरविंदर ने दक्षिण कोरिया के किम मिन सु को 6-5 से हराकर टोक्यो 2020 में भारत का दिन का तीसरा पदक जीता, जिससे भारत की संख्या 13 हो गई। इससे पहले, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका (यूएसए) केविन माथेर ने हरविंदर को 6-4 से सेमीफाइनल में हराया।

 नियुक्ति एवं इस्‍तीफे

पीपीके रामाचार्युलु राज्यसभा महासचिव नियुक्त

• राज्यसभा के सभापति एम वेंकैया नायडू ने डॉ पीपीके रामाचार्युलु, जो 2018 से राज्यसभा सचिवालय में सचिव हैं, को महासचिव नियुक्त किया है। वह देश दीपक वर्मा का स्थान लेंगे, जिन्होंने चार वर्ष तक शीर्ष पद पर रहने के बाद महासचिव के पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था। रामाचार्युलु पहले अंदरूनी सूत्र हैं जो राज्यसभा के लगभग 70 वर्षों में सचिवालय के रैंक से शीर्ष पद तक पहुंचे हैं।
• एक वर्ष तक लोकसभा सचिवालय में सेवा देने के बाद रामाचार्युलु 1983 में राज्यसभा सचिवालय में शामिल हुए। रामाचार्युलु ने आंध्र प्रदेश विधानमंडल के विशेष सचिव के रूप में कार्य किया था। रामाचार्युलु को संसद के कामकाज के विभिन्न पहलुओं को संभालने का लगभग 40 वर्षों का अनुभव है।

 सरकार ने अतुल भट्ट को राष्ट्रीय इस्पात निगम लिमिटेड का सीएमडी नियुक्त किया

• अतुल भट्ट को विनिवेश के स्वामित्व वाली स्टील कंपनी राष्ट्रीय इस्पात निगम लिमिटेड (RINL) के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक (सीएमडी) के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। वह राज्य के स्वामित्व वाली कंसल्टेंसी फर्म मेकॉन के सीएमडी थे, जो टर्नकी निष्पादन सहित अवधारणा से लेकर कमीशनिंग तक एक परियोजना स्थापित करने के लिए आवश्यक सेवाओं की एक पूरी श्रृंखला प्रदान करता है। पीके रथ 38 वर्ष तक कंपनी की सेवा करने के बाद 31 मई को आरआईएनएल (RINL) के सीएमडी के रूप में सेवानिवृत्त हुए।
• RINL आंध्र प्रदेश के विशाखापट्टनम में स्थित एक विशेष इस्पात बनाने वाली कंपनी है। कंपनी बिना किसी कैप्टिव लौह अयस्क खदानों के, राज्य में 7.3 मिलियन टन (MT) स्टील प्लांट का मालिक है और उसका संचालन करती है। आर्थिक मामलों की मंत्रिमंडलीय समिति (CCEA) ने निजीकरण के माध्यम से रणनीतिक विनिवेश के माध्यम से आरआईएनएल में सरकारी हिस्सेदारी के 100 प्रतिशत विनिवेश के साथ-साथ सहायक कंपनियों / संयुक्त उद्यमों में कंपनी की हिस्सेदारी के लिए सैद्धांतिक मंजूरी दे दी थी।

ऑक्सफोर्ड विश्वविद्यालय टाइम्स वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2022 में सबसे ऊपर

• टाइम्स हायर एजुकेशन (द) वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2022 जारी कर दी गई है। इस सूची में ऑक्सफोर्ड विश्वविद्यालय सबसे ऊपर है, इसके बाद कैलिफोर्निया इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी और हार्वर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी क्रमशः दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर है. सूची में भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान (IISc), बेंगलुरु को 301-350 की रैंकिंग के बीच रखा गया है, जो शीर्ष 350 रैंकिंग में शामिल एकमात्र भारतीय विश्वविद्यालय भी है।
• टाइम्स हायर एजुकेशन वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2022 में 99 देशों और क्षेत्रों के रिकॉर्ड 1,662 विश्वविद्यालय शामिल हैं। इसमें रैंकिंग 13 संतुलित प्रदर्शन संकेतकों पर आधारित है।

 बैंकिंग और आर्थिक

आईएमएफ ने भारत के विशेष आहरण अधिकार (एसडीआर) का कोटा बढ़ाया

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (IMF) ने भारत को विशेष आहरण अधिकार के रूप में 12.57 बिलियन (लगभग 17.86 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर) का आवंटन किया है। इसके साथ ही भारत की कुल एसडीआर होल्डिंग 13.66 अरब एसडीआर (लगभग 19.41 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर के बराबर) हो गई है।
• एसडीआर भारत के विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार के घटकों में से एक है। इसलिए विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार (FER) भी अब बढ़ गया है। IMF ने अपने सभी सदस्य देशों को कुल एसडीआर 456 बिलियन आवंटित किया है, जिसमें से भारत को एसडीआर 12.57 मिला है।

India becomes third largest startup ecosystem in the world

• Hurun Research Institute has released the Hurun India Future Unicorn List 2021, as per which India is the third-largest Unicorn/startup ecosystem in the world. The USA is on top followed by China on second. India has 51 unicorns according to the list. The USA has 396 and China has 277 unicorns.
• Zilingo is the top unicorn in the ranking in India with funding of USD 310. The headquarters of Zilingo is in Singapore. Bengaluru is the top Indian city in terms of the number of Unicorns headquartered in a city. Bengaluru has 31 unicorns followed by Mumbai which has 12 unicorns.

Women and Child Development Minister inaugurates NUTRI GARDEN at All India Institute of Ayurveda

• The Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Zubin Irani inaugurated NUTRI GARDEN to mark the beginning of Poshan Maah – 2021 at All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA). Plantation of Shigru (Sahijan) and Amla saplings were also carried out. AIIA, New Delhi under the direction of the Ministry of Ayush initiated the celebration of Poshan Maah – 2021.
• Nutri kitchen garden/Nutri garden is a method of planting and harvesting nutrient-rich crops in residential houses or in their vicinity to meet the requirements of the family all year round.
• In urban areas, Nutri kitchen gardening can be promoted in the form of rooftop gardening, terrace gardening, vertical gardening and container gardening.
• In rural areas, Nutri kitchen gardens can be promoted in the backyard of the houses.

I&B Ministry constitutes Committee to review existing guidelines of Journalist Welfare Scheme

• The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has decided to form a committee to review the existing guidelines of the Journalist Welfare Scheme (JWS). The 12-member committee, with Ashok Kumar Tandon, Member, Prasar Bharati Board, as its chairperson, will revise the quantum of ex-gratia payment in case of death as well as in other cases under the scheme. The terms of reference (ToR) of the committee include examining the need for such a revision of the quantum of ex-gratia payment.
• The committee will look into the aspect of differentiation or parity between accredited and non-accredited journalists for availing benefits under the scheme. The committee shall give its recommendations within two months and all secretarial assistance for convening its meetings will be provided by the Press Information Bureau (PIB).

 Gujarat to host 12th Defence Expo-2022 in Gandhinagar

• The next Defence Expo will be hosted by Gujarat in 2022. This was announced by chief minister Vijay Rupani. The Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Department of Defence Production and the Gujarat Government in this regard. About 100 countries are expected to participate in this biannual event.
• Defence Expo-2022 will be held in Gandhinagar from 10th to 13th March next year. The aim of Defense Expo 2022 is to move from Make in India to make for the world. The Defence Expo-2022 will focus on making India a Defence manufacturing hub.

 PM's Virtual-Address at 6th Eastern Economic Forum 2021

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the plenary session of the 6th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), organised in Vladivostok, Russia. An Indian delegation led by Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri and comprising leading Indian oil and gas companies are participating in the EEF Summit 2021 in Russia.
• On the sidelines of EEF, Petroleum Minister will also have meetings with Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov to review bilateral energy cooperation in the energy sector and with the Russian Minister for Development of Far East and Arctic Alexei Chekunkov to discuss the collaboration between Indian and Russian companies in that region. Petroleum Minister will also co-chair India-Russia Business Dialogue.

Tokyo Paralympics: Shooter Manish Narwal wins Gold

• Indian shooters Manish Narwal and Singhraj Adhana clinched the gold and silver medal respectively in the P4 – Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 final at Asaka Shooting Range. The 19-year-old Manish created the Paralympic record as he amassed 218.2 points to clinch the gold while Singhraj grabbed his second medal of the Tokyo Paralympics with 216.7 points. The Russian Paralympic Committee’s (RPC) Sergey Malyshev won the bronze medal.
• India’s medal tally now stands at 15 at these Paralympics. It has now won three golds, seven silvers and five bronze medals. This is India’s best tally at a single edition of the Para Games. It had won four medals at Rio 2016 and four at the 1984 Paralympics.

 Paralympics 2020: Archer Harvinder Singh won Bronze

• In Paralympics 2020, India’s ace archer Harvinder Singh has won the bronze medal in the men’s individual recurve open. The 31-year old has become India’s first-ever archer to win a medal in the Paralympics. With this win, India’s medal haul at the ongoing Paralympics Games in Tokyo has reached 13 [2G,6S,5B].
• Harvinder defeated South Korea’s Kim Min Su 6-5 in a shoot-off to win India’s third medal of the day at Tokyo 2020, taking India’s tally to 13. Earlier, United States of America’s (USA) Kevin Mather defeated Harvinder by 6-4 in the semi-final.

 APPOINTMENT & RESIGNATION

PPK Ramacharyulu appointed RS secretary general

• Rajya Sabha Chairman, M Venkaiah Naidu has appointed Dr PPK Ramacharyulu, who is the secretary in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat since 2018, as the secretary general. He succeeds Desh Dipak Verma, who demitted office as secretary-general after serving the top post for four years. Ramacharyulu is the first insider to have risen from the ranks of the secretariat to the top post in the about 70 years of the Rajya Sabha.
• Ramacharyulu joined the Rajya Sabha Secretariat in 1983 after serving in the Lok Sabha Secretariat for a year. Ramacharyulu had served as special secretary, Andhra Pradesh Legislature. Ramacharyulu has about 40 years of experience of handling various aspects of the functioning of Parliament.

 Govt appoints Atul Bhatt as CMD of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd

• Atul Bhatt has been appointed as chairman and managing director (CMD) of disinvestment-owned steel company Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL). He was the CMD of state-owned consultancy firm MECON, which offers a full range of services required to set up a project from concept to commissioning including turnkey execution. PK Rath retired as CMD RINL on May 31, after serving the company for 38 years.
• RINL is a special steel-making player based in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The company, without any captive iron ore mines, owns and operates a 7.3-million tonne (MT) steel plant in the state. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) had given in-principle approval for 100 per cent disinvestment of government stake in RINL, along with the company’s stake in subsidiaries/ joint ventures through strategic disinvestment by way of privatisation.

University of Oxford tops Times World University Rankings 2022

• The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2022 has been announced. The University of Oxford is at the top of the list, followed by the California Institute of Technology and Harvard University at the second and third positions, respectively. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, is placed between the 301-350 position. Incidentally, it is also the only university in the top 350 rankings.
• The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 includes record 1,662 universities from 99 countries and territories. The ranking is based on 13 balanced performance indicators.

 BANKING AND ECONOMIC

IMF increases India’s quota of Special Drawing Rights (SDR)

• The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has made an allocation of Special Drawing Rights (SDR) 12.57 billion to India. (approx USD 17.86 billion). With this, the total SDR holding of India has gone upto SDR 13.66 billion (equivalent to around USD 19.41 billion).
• SDR is one of the components of the Foreign Exchange Reserves (FER) of India. Hence the Foreign Exchange Reserves (FER) has also increased now. IMF has allocated a total of SDR 456 billion to all its member countries out of which India has got SDR 12.57.
