(IOCL) ने देश का पहला 100 ऑक्टेन पेट्रोल लॉन्च किया

• केंद्रीय पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस और इस्पात मंत्री, धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से भारत का पहला स्वदेशी विकसित 100 ऑक्टेन प्रीमियम पेट्रोल ’लॉन्च किया। ऑक्टेन रेटिंग ईंधन की स्थिरता के उपाय हैं जो इंजन की दक्षता को बढ़ाते हैं। ब्रांड 'XP-100' के तहत उच्च ऑक्टेन प्रीमियम ग्रेड पेट्रोल का विपणन किया जाएगा। इसे इंडियन ऑयल कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (IOCL) द्वारा उत्तर प्रदेश में मथुरा रिफाइनरी में विकसित किया गया है।
• XP-100 को पूरे देश में चरणबद्ध तरीके से उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा और पहले चरण में, इसे 10 शहरों में उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा। शहर दिल्ली, गुड़गांव, नोएडा, आगरा, जयपुर, चंडीगढ़, लुधियाना, मुंबई, पुणे और अहमदाबाद हैं।
• इस लॉन्च के साथ, भारत वैश्विक स्तर पर उन चुनिंदा देशों में शामिल हो गया है जिनके पास इस तरह के बेहतर गुणवत्ता वाले ईंधन हैं। अब तक, ईंधन की ऐसी गुणवत्ता केवल छह देशों में उपलब्ध है, जिसमें अमेरिका, जर्मनी, ग्रीस, इंडोनेशिया, मलेशिया और इजरायल शामिल हैं।

 पश्चिम बंगाल ने बड़े पैमाने पर शुरू किया आपके ‘द्वारे सरकार’ अभियान

• पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने 11 राज्य-कल्याणकारी योजनाओं के बारे में लोगों को जागरूक करने और इसका लाभ उठाने में मदद करने के लिए ‘द्वारे सरकार’ (दरवाजे पर सरकार) नामक एक बड़े अभियान का शुभारंभ किया है। अप्रैल-मई में होने वाले 2021 राज्य विधानसभा चुनावों को ध्यान में रखते हुए दो महीने लंबे आउटरीच कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत की गई है।
• यह अभियान 1 दिसंबर, 2020 से 30 जनवरी, 2020 तक चार चरणों में चलाया जाएगा, जिसमें नारा ‘jar jekhane darkar, asche apnar duare sarkar’ यानि जब आप चाहे तब सरकार आपके दरवाजे पर होगी। 11 योजनाओं के लाभार्थियों को इस उद्देश्य के लिए लगाए गए शिविरों में रखा जाएगा।

 अर्जुन मुंडा ने वर्चुली किया "आदि महोत्सव-मध्य प्रदेश" का शुभारम्भ

• केंद्रीय जनजातीय कार्य मंत्री अर्जुन मुंडा ने आदि महोत्सव-मध्य प्रदेश के पहले वर्चुली संस्करण का शुभारम्भ किया। इस कार्यक्रम में शिल्पों और प्राकृतिक उत्पादों के प्रदर्शन के द्वारा विभिन्न आदिवासी समुदायों की जनजातीय परम्पराओं का प्रदर्शन किया जाएगा। यह आदिवासी संस्कृति-संगीत, नृत्य आदि विभिन्न पहलुओं का प्रदर्शन करने वाले वीडियो भी यहां पर साझा किए जाएंगे। साथ ही यह एक अलग मंच पर आदिवासियों और उनकी विविधता, अलग जीवन शैली का उत्सव होगा।
• 10-दिवसीय यह महोत्सव 1 दिसंबर, 2020 से शुरू हो गया। इसे की मेजबानी ट्राइब्स इंडिया की वेबसाइट (www.tribesindia.com) पर की जा रही है। वर्चुअल कार्यक्रम का मुख्य आकर्षण केंद्र मध्य प्रदेश के आदिवासी नृत्य और संगीत के कारीगरों के कार्यस्थल और झलकियों का एक वर्चुल टूर भी शामिल है। पहला वर्चुली आदि महोत्सव आदिवासी शिल्प और मध्य प्रदेश की संस्कृति पर केन्द्रित है। इस कार्यक्रम का अगला फोकस राज्य गुजरात (11 दिसंबर 2020 से) होगा, इसके बाद 21 दिसंबर 2020 से पश्चिम बंगाल होगा।

भारतीय सेना ने किया ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल के एंटी-शिप संस्करण का सफल परीक्षण

• भारत ने अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह क्षेत्र से ब्रह्मोस सुपरसोनिक क्रूज मिसाइल के जहाज-रोधी संस्करण का सफल परीक्षण किया है। यह परीक्षण भारतीय नौसेना द्वारा किए जा रहे परीक्षण के भाग के रूप में आयोजित किया गया था। डीआरडीओ द्वारा विकसित ब्रह्मोस सुपरसोनिक क्रूज मिसाइल 300 किलोमीटर की रेंज से भारतीय नौसेना के आईएनएस रणविजय से लॉन्च की गई और इसने बंगाल की खाड़ी में कार निकोबार द्वीप समूह के पास निर्धारित अपने लक्ष्य जहाज को सफलतापूर्वक मार गिराया।
• हाल ही में ब्रह्मोस सुपरसोनिक क्रूज मिसाइल के सतह से हमला करने वाले संस्करण का अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह क्षेत्र में ही सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया गया था। ब्रह्मोस सुपरसोनिक क्रूज मिसाइल अपनी श्रेणी की दुनिया की सबसे तेज परिचालन प्रणाली है।

MDH के मालिक 'महाशय' धर्मपाल गुलाटी का निधन

• मसाला किंग कहे जाने वाले MDH के मालिक धर्मपाल गुलाटी का निधन हो गया। उनका जन्म 1923 में पाकिस्तान के सियालकोट में हुआ था। उन्हें 'दालाजी' और 'महाशयजी' भी कहा जाता था। कम उम्र में स्कूल छोड़ने वाले धर्मपाल गुलाटी शुरुआती दिनों में अपने पिता के मसाला कारोबार से जुड़ गए थे। उन्हें साल 2019 में भारत सरकार द्वारा देश के तीसरे सबसे बड़े नागरिक सम्मान पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था।
• 1947 में विभाजन के बाद, धर्मपाल गुलाटी भारत चले आए और अमृतसर में एक शरणार्थी शिविर में रहे। फिर वह दिल्ली आ गए और दिल्ली के करोल बाग में एक दूकान शुरू की। गुलाटी ने 1959 में आधिकारिक तौर पर कंपनी की स्थापना की थी। उनका कारोबार केवल भारत तक ही सीमित नहीं रहा बल्कि वे एक वितरक और निर्यातक भी बन गए। उनकी कंपनी यूके, यूरोप, यूएई, कैनाडा सहित दुनिया के विभिन्न हिस्सों में भारतीय मसालों का निर्यात करती है।

ले. जनरल राजीव चौधरी को नियुक्त किया गया BRO का नया महानिदेशक

• लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राजीव चौधरी को सीमा सड़क संगठन (Border Roads Organisation) का 27 वां महानिदेशक नियुक्त किया गया है। उनकी नियुक्ति 1 दिसंबर 2020 से प्रभावी हो गई है।
• लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल चौधरी की नियुक्ति लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल हरपाल सिंह के स्थान पर की गई हैं जिनकी नियुक्ति भारतीय सेना के नए इंजीनियर-इन-चीफ के रूप में की गई है। बीआरओ चीन और पाकिस्तान की सीमा से लगे सीमावर्ती इलाकों सहित सभी सीमा सड़कों के निर्माण और रखरखाव का जिम्मा संभालता है।

 एआर रहमान होंगे भारत में 'बाफ्टा ब्रेकथ्रू' पहल के एम्बेसडर

• ऑस्कर और ग्रैमी विजेता भारतीय संगीतकार एआर रहमान को भारत में बाफ्टा की ब्रेकथ्रू पहल का एम्बेसडर चुना गया है। वर्ष 2020 में, बाफ्टा भारत में फिल्म, खेल अथवा टेलीविजन में काम करने वाली पांच असाधारण प्रतिभाओं की पहचान करेगा और उनका सहयोग करेगा।

• जूते के प्रमुख संगठन बाटा जूता संगठन ने संदीप कटारिया को अपना नया वैश्विक मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (Chief Executive Officer) नियुक्त किया है। वह पहले भारतीय हैं जिन्हें बाटा (हेडक्वार्टर-लुसाने, स्विट्जरलैंड) में वैश्विक भूमिका निभाने के लिए चुना किया गया है। वे एलेक्सिस नास्र्ड का पदभार संभालेंगे, जिन्होंने लगभग पांच साल बाद पद प् रहने के बाद इस्तीफा दे दिया है।
• इससे पहले, कटारिया 2017 से बाटा इंडिया के सीईओ है। कटारिया की लीडरशिप के अंतर्गत, बाटा इंडिया उम्मीद से भी कम समय के अन्दर भारत में सबसे बड़े फुटवियर रिटेलर में बदलने में कामयाब रहा।

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिव्यांगजन दिवस: 03 दिसंबर

• International Day of Persons with Disabilities: प्रतिवर्ष 3 दिसंबर को विश्व स्तर पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिव्यांगजन दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। IDPWD दिवस मनाए जाने की घोषणा संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा 1992 में की गई थी। IDPWD दिवस 2020 का विषय: ‘Not all Disabilities are Visible’ हैं।
• यह दिन समाज और विकास के सभी क्षेत्रों में विकलांग लोगों के अधिकारों और कल्याण को बढ़ावा देने और राजनीतिक, सामाजिक, आर्थिक और सांस्कृतिक जीवन के हर पहलू में विकलांग व्यक्तियों की स्थिति के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए मनाया जाता है।

ग्लोबल टेररिज्म इंडेक्स 2020: भारत रहा आतंकवाद से सबसे अधिक प्रभावित 8वां देश

• ग्लोबल टेररिज्म इंडेक्स (GTI) 2020 में भारत को 2019 में आतंकवाद से सबसे अधिक प्रभावित देशों की सूची में वैश्विक स्तर पर 8 वें स्थान पर रखा गया है। भारत का GTI स्कोर 10.7 में से 7.353 रहा। भारत में 2019 में आतंकवाद के कारण 277 हत्याए, 439 घायल और 558 घटनाएं दर्ज की गईं। इस सूचकांक में दक्षिण एशिया 2019 में आतंकवाद से सबसे अधिक प्रभावित क्षेत्र रहा, जहां किसी भी अन्य क्षेत्र की तुलना में सबसे अधिक हत्याएं दर्ज की गईं। इसके अलावा, विश्व स्तर पर आतंकवाद के कारण होने वाली मौतों में 2018 की तुलना में 2019 में 15 प्रतिशत की गिरावट के साथ 13,286 दर्ज की गईं।

भारत:

• जम्मू और कश्मीर आतंकवाद से सबसे अधिक प्रभावित क्षेत्र रहा, जहां 165 हमलों और 103 मौतों की सूचना प्राप्त हुई। कश्मीर के तीन सबसे सक्रिय समूह जैश-ए-मोहम्मद (JeM), हिजबुल मुजाहिदीन और लश्कर-ए-तैयबा (LeT) हैं।
• छत्तीसगढ़ भारत में 85 हमलों और माओवादी चरमपंथियों से 53 मौतों के साथ दूसरा सबसे प्रभावित क्षेत्र था।

आतंकवाद से सबसे अधिक प्रभावित देश:

• अफगानिस्तान 163 देशों में 9.592 के स्कोर के साथ सबसे अधिक आतंकी प्रभावित वाले देश के रूप में सूचकांक में सबसे ऊपर है।
• इसके बाद क्रमशः दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर इराक (8.682) और नाइजीरिया (8.314) हैं।

आतंकवाद से सबसे कम प्रभावित देश:

• सूचकांक में कतर (0.014) ने 133 वीं रैंक और उसके बाद उज़्बेकिस्तान (0.010) ने 134 वीं रैंक और करीब 29 देशों (0.000 के स्कोर) ने 135 वीं रैंक हासिल की, जिसका मतलब है कि यह आतंकवाद से सबसे कम प्रभावित देश हैं।

 US एयर क्वालिटी इंडेक्स: लाहौर बना दुनिया का सबसे प्रदूषित शहर

• यूएस एयर क्वालिटी इंडेक्स (AQI) द्वारा वायु प्रदूषण पर जारी किए आंकड़ों के अनुसार, पाकिस्तान की सांस्कृतिक राजधानी लाहौर को दुनिया के सबसे प्रदूषित शहर के रूप में शीर्ष स्थान पर रखा गया है। लाहौर को पार्टिकुलेट मेट्टर (पीएम) रेटिंग में 423 रेटिंग मिली। इस सूची में नई दिल्ली 229 के पीएम रेटिंग के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहा, जबकि नेपाल की राजधानी काठमांडू 178 के पीएम रेटिंग के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रही।
• वायु गुणवत्ता सूचकांक (Air Quality Index) अमेरिकी पर्यावरण संरक्षण एजेंसी (EPA) द्वारा जारी किया गया है ताकि लोगों द्वारा यह अनुमान लगाया जा सके कि हवा में सांस लेना सुरक्षित है अथवा नही।
• AQI, EPA द्वारा विनियमित पांच प्रमुख प्रदूषकों के स्तर पर आधारित है: जमीनी स्तर का ओजोन, पार्टिकुलेट मैटर (PM2.5), कार्बन मोनोऑक्साइड, सल्फर डाइऑक्साइड और नाइट्रोजन डाइऑक्साइड।
• AQI 0-500 के पैमाने पर रखकर वायु की गुणवत्ता को मापता है, जहाँ AQI 50 से कम होता है, तो वहां हवा की गुणवत्ता को संतोषजनक माना जाता है।

एडीबी और भारत ने पश्चिम बंगाल के लिए 50 मिलियन डॉलर के ऋण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए

• एशियाई विकास बैंक (ADB) और भारत सरकार ने पश्चिम बंगाल में वित्तीय प्रबंधन प्रक्रियाओं और परिचालन क्षमता में सुधार के लिए 50 मिलियन डॉलर के नीति-आधारित ऋण समझौते को शामिल किया है। पश्चिम बंगाल पब्लिक फाइनेंस मैनेजमेंट इन्वेस्टमेंट प्रोग्राम ’के रूप में शीर्षक से, परियोजना राज्य में अधिक राजकोषीय बचत प्राप्त करने, सूचित निर्णय लेने को बढ़ावा देने और सेवा वितरण में सुधार करने में मदद करेगी।
• राजकोषीय नीति और सार्वजनिक वित्त के लिए एक केंद्र सार्वजनिक वित्त प्रबंधन पर राज्य सरकार के अधिकारियों की क्षमता को गहरा करने के लिए स्थापित किया जाएगा, जबकि परिवहन निगमों और शहरी स्थानीय निकायों के लिए एक वेब-आधारित शिकायत निवारण प्रणाली विकसित करना एक विश्वसनीय नागरिक-सरकार इंटरफ़ेस प्रदान करेगा।

IOCL launches India’s first 100 Octane Premium Petrol

• Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan launched India’s first indigenously developed ‘100 Octane premium petrol’ through video conferencing. Octane ratings are measures of fuel stability that increases engine efficiency. The high octane premium grade petrol will be marketed under the brand ‘XP-100’. It has been developed by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at its Mathura refinery in Uttar Pradesh.
• XP-100 will be made available in a phased manner across the country and in the first phase, it will be made available in 10 cities. The cities are Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Agra, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad.
• With this launch, India has joined a select league of nations globally that have such superior quality fuel. Till date, such quality of fuel is available only in six countries including USA, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia and Israel.

 West Bengal launches massive ‘Duare Sarkar’ outreach campaign

• West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has launched a massive campaign titled ‘Duare Sarkar’ (government at doorsteps) to aware people about the 11 state-run welfare schemes and help them avail its benefits. The two-month-long outreach programme has been launched keeping in view the 2021 state assembly elections which are due in April-May.
• The campaign will continue from December 1, 2020, to January 30, 2020, in four phases, with slogan ‘jar jekhane darkar, asche apnar duare sarkar’ (government will be at your doorsteps whenever you need it). The 11 schemes will be made available to the beneficiaries through camps set up for the purpose.

 Arjun Munda e-launches "Virtual Aadi Mahotsav-Madhya Pradesh"

• The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda has launched the first-ever virtual edition of Aadi Mahotsav – Madhya Pradesh. The event will showcase the tribal traditions of the various tribal communities by having their crafts and natural products on display. Videos showcasing different aspects of their culture – music, dance etc, will also be shared. In essence, it will still be a celebration of the tribes and their diverse, varied lifestyle but on a different platform.
• The 10-day long festival will begin from December 1, 2020. It is being hosted on the Tribes India website – www.tribesindia.com. The highlights of the virtual launch included a virtual tour of the artisans’ workplace and glimpses of the tribal dance and music from Madhya Pradesh. The main focus of the first virtual Aadi Mahotsav is on the tribal craft and culture of Madhya Pradesh. The next focus state of the programme would be Gujarat ( from 11th December 2020), followed by West Bengal from the 21st December 2020.

Indian Army successfully testfires Anti-Ship version of BrahMos missile

• India successfully test-fired the anti-ship version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands territory. The test was conducted as part of the ongoing trials being conducted by the Indian Navy. The DRDO-developed BrahMos supersonic cruise missile with a strike range of 300 Km was launched from Indian Navy’s INS Ranvijay and it successfully hit its target ship near the Car Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal.
• Recently the land-attack version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was also successfully test-fired from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands territory. The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile is the world’s fastest operational system in its class.

 OBITUARY

MDH owner ‘Mahashay’ Dharampal Gulati passes away

• The owner of MDH Masala, Dharampal Gulati passed away. He was born in 1923 in Sialkot, Pakistan. He was fondly called ‘dalaji’ and ‘Mahashayji’. A school dropout, Dharampal Gulati joined his father’s spice business in the early days. Back in 2019, the government honoured him with Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award in the country.
• After partition in 1947, Dharampal Gulati moved to India and stayed at a refugee camp in Amritsar. He then moved to Delhi and opened a store in Delhi’s Karol Bagh. Gulati officially established the company in 1959. The business did not just flourish in India only but Gulati became a distributor and exporter as well. His company exports Indian spices to various parts of the world including the UK, Europe, UAE, Canda, etc.

Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhary becomes new Director General of BRO

• Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhary has been appointed as the 27th Director General of Border Roads Organisation (BRO). His appointment is effective from 1st December 2020.
• Lt Gen Chaudhary succeeds Lt Gen Harpal Singh who has been appointed as the new Engineer-in-Chief of the Indian Army. The BRO is responsible for construction and maintenance of all border roads including those along the frontiers with China and Pakistan.

 AR Rahman roped in as ‘BAFTA Breakthrough’ India ambassador

• Oscar and Grammy-winning Indian composer, AR Rahman has been roped in as ambassador of the BAFTA Breakthrough initiative in India. In 2020, BAFTA will identify and support up to five exceptional talents working in film, games or television in India.
• The BAFTA Breakthrough initiative, is part of the Academy’s year-long programme to support new talent, coming up in the film, games and television industries in the UK, China, India and the US and gives them access to unique career development and mentoring opportunities. It is a unique opportunity for promising artists to be supported by a world-renowned organisation, including connections with other talented creatives across the world and being mentored by BAFTA-winners and nominees.

 Bata names Sandeep Kataria as global CEO

• Footwear major Bata Shoe Organization has appointed Sandeep Kataria as the new global Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He is the first Indian to be appointed to the global role of Bata (Headquarter-Lausanne, Switzerland). He takes over from Alexis Nasard, who has stepped down after almost five years in the role.
• Before this, Kataria was the CEO of Bata India since 2017. Under Kataria, Bata India managed to transform into the largest footwear retailer in India within a relatively short span.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities: 03 December

• The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed annually on December 3. The IDPWD day was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly. The 2020 theme: ‘Not all Disabilities are Visible’.
• The day is celebrated to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

India ranked 8th in Global Terrorism Index 2020

• In the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) 2020, India has been ranked at 8th spot globally in the list of countries most affected by terrorism in 2019. The GTI score of India is 7.353 out of 10. India recorded 277 Deaths, 439 Injuries & 558 Incidents due to Terrorism in 2019. Regionally, South Asia was the most impacted region by terrorism in 2019, recording more deaths than any other region. Also, globally the deaths caused due to terrorism fell by 15 per cent to 13,286 in 2019 over 2018.

India:

• Jammu and Kashmir was the most affected Region due to terrorism, it reported 165 attacks and 103 deaths. The three most active groups in Kashmir was Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen & Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
• Chhattisgarh was the second most affected region in India with 85 attacks and 53 deaths all from Maoist Extremists.

Countries Most Affected by Terrorism:

• With a score of 9.592, Afghanistan has topped the index as the worst terror impacted nation among the 163 countries.
• It is followed by Iraq (8.682) and Nigeria (8.314) at second and third place respectively.

Countries Least Affected by Terrorism:

• Qatar (0.014) took the 133rd Rank followed by Uzbekistan (0.010) in the 134th Rank and around 29 Countries (score of 0.000) took the 135th Rank which means they are Least Affected Countries or Face No Impact due to Terrorism.

 US Air Quality Index: Lahore is world’s most polluted city

• Lahore, the cultural capital Pakistan, has been ranked as the world’s most polluted city, according to air pollution data released by the US Air Quality Index (AQI). Lahore reported a particulate matter (PM) rating of 423. New Delhi stood second with a PM of 229, while Nepal’s capital Kathmandu ranked the third with a PM of 178.
• The Air Quality Index (AQI) is released by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to give people an idea of whether it’s safe to breathe the air.
• AQI is based on the levels of five major pollutants regulated by the EPA: ground-level ozone, particulate matter (PM2.5), carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide.
• AQI measures air quality by placing it on a scale of 0-500, where air quality is regarded as satisfactory if the AQI is under 50.

ADB and India sign $50 million loan agreement for West Bengal

• The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India have inked $50 million policy-based loan agreement to improve financial management procedures and operational efficiencies in West Bengal. Titled as the ‘West Bengal Public Finance Management Investment Programme’, the project will help to achieve more fiscal savings, promote informed decision making, and improve service delivery in the state.
• A centre for fiscal policy and public finance will be established to deepen the capacity of the state government officials on public finance management while developing a web-based grievance redress system for transport corporations and urban local bodies will provide a credible citizen-government interface.
