अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बिडेन ने जलवायु पर लीडर्स समिट में पीएम मोदी को आमंत्रित किया

• राष्ट्रपति जो बिडेन ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी सहित 40 विश्व नेताओं को अगले महीने जलवायु पर एक अमेरिकी-आयोजित आभासी शिखर सम्मेलन में आमंत्रित किया है, जो तात्कालिकता और मजबूत जलवायु कार्रवाई के आर्थिक लाभों को रेखांकित करने के लिए है। बिडेन 22 अप्रैल को पृथ्वी दिवस पर शुरू होने वाले विश्व नेताओं के दो दिवसीय जलवायु शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी करेंगे, जिसमें वह 2030 तक कार्बन उत्सर्जन में कमी के लिए अमेरिकी लक्ष्य को रेखांकित करेंगे, जिसे ऐतिहासिक पेरिस समझौते के तहत राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर निर्धारित योगदान के रूप में जाना जाता है।

• सोमा मोंडल, राज्य के स्वामित्व वाली स्टील अथॉरिटी ऑफ़ इंडिया लिमिटेड (Steel Authority of India Limited-SAIL) की चेयरपर्सन, 26 मार्च, 2021 को, स्टैंडिंग कॉन्फ्रेंस ऑफ पब्लिक इंटरप्राइजेज़ (Standing Conference of Public Enterprises-SCOPE) की नई अध्यक्ष चुनी गईं। मोंडल का दो साल का कार्यकाल अप्रैल से शुरू होगा; उन्होंने 1 जनवरी, 2021 को सेल का कार्यभार संभाला था।

भारत और अमेरिका ने मौजूदा ऊर्जा सहयोग ढांचे को संशोधित करने का फैसला किया

• भारत और अमेरिका ने सोमवार को प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और राष्ट्रपति जो बिडेन, द्वारा निर्धारित नई प्राथमिकताओं को प्रतिबिंबित करने के लिए उन्नत अमेरिकी प्रौद्योगिकी और तेजी से बढ़ते भारतीय ऊर्जा बाजार को ध्यान में रखते हुए स्वच्छ ऊर्जा पर अधिक ध्यान केंद्रित करने के लिए मौजूदा ऊर्जा सहयोग ढांचे को संशोधित करने का फैसला किया।
• पेट्रोलियम मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान और अमेरिका के ऊर्जा सचिव जेनिफर ग्रानहोम ने भारत-अमेरिका रणनीतिक ऊर्जा भागीदारी (एसईपी) को फिर से संशोधित करने का फैसला किया है और जल्द ही एसईपी की तीसरी बैठक शुरू करने का फैसला किया है।
• "पहले, दो SEP [ट्रम्प प्रशासन के तहत आयोजित किए गए थे], जहां ऊर्जा सहयोग का ध्यान कार्बन फुटप्रिंट्स को कम करने में सहयोग के बजाय अमेरिका से जीवाश्म ईंधन की आपूर्ति पर अधिक था। जहां अमेरिका से जीवाश्म ईंधन का आयात जारी रहेगा, वहीं वाशिंगटन स्वच्छ ऊर्जा के लिए भारत के प्रयासों का समर्थन करेगा। उद्घाटन सेप, एक मंत्रिस्तरीय बैठक, पहली बार 17 अप्रैल, 2018 को हुई थी। इसकी दूसरी बैठक 17 जुलाई, 2020 को हुई।

भारत, दक्षिण कोरिया ने संयुक्त उत्पादन, सैन्य हार्डवेयर के निर्यात पर सहमति व्यक्त की

• एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम में, भारत और दक्षिण कोरिया ने सैन्य हार्डवेयर के संयुक्त उत्पादन और निर्यात के लिए जाने, खुफिया साझाकरण बढ़ाने और साइबर और अंतरिक्ष डोमेन में रक्षा और सुरक्षा संबंधों के समग्र विस्तार के रूप में सहयोग बढ़ाने पर सहमति व्यक्त की है।
• रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह और उनके दक्षिण कोरियाई समकक्ष सुह वुक के बीच शुक्रवार को प्रतिनिधिमंडल स्तर की वार्ता के दौरान निर्णय लिया गया, दोनों पक्षों ने संबंधों को बढ़ाने के लिए संकल्प लिया।
• दक्षिण कोरियाई मंत्री गुरुवार से भारत की तीन दिवसीय यात्रा पर थे जो द्विपक्षीय रक्षा और सैन्य सहयोग को बढ़ाने पर केंद्रित था।

NATHEALTH का 7वाँ वार्षिक शिखर सम्मेलन

• केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्री (Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare) डॉ. हर्षवर्धन ने NATHEALTH के 7 वें वार्षिक शिखर सम्मेलन को संबोधित किया। यह शिखर सम्मेलन ‘इंडियन हेल्थ सिस्टम एक्सपेंशन इन पोस्ट-कोविड एरा (Indian health system expansion in post-COVID era)’ पर केंद्रित था। इस शिखर सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए मंत्री ने सभी के लिए स्वास्थ्य के लक्ष्य को पूरा करने के लिए सरकार की प्रतिबद्धताओं को दोहराया।
• इस नीति-ढांचे का प्राथमिक उद्देश्य सभी आयु वर्गों के सभी के लिए स्वास्थ्य और कल्याण के लिए उच्चतम संभव स्तर प्राप्त करना है। इस उद्देश्य को प्राप्त करने के लिए, यह नीति स्वास्थ्य के निवारक और प्रचार पहलुओं पर जोर देती है और अच्छी गुणवत्ता वाली स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं के लिए सार्वभौमिक पहुंच प्रदान करती है। सरकार ने प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य देखभाल, स्वास्थ्य एवं कल्याण के लिए सार्वभौमिक मुक्त पहुँच प्रदान करने के उद्देश्य से आयुष्मान भारत (Ayushman Bharat) कार्यक्रम भी शुरू किया है।

केन्द्रीय स्वास्थ्य बजट 2021-22 के बारे में:

• केंद्रीय बजट 2021-22 भी विकास को चलाने के लिए छह मुख्य स्तंभों में से एक के रूप में स्वास्थ्य की पहचान करता है।
• इसने 2021-22 में 2,23,846 करोड़ रुपये के वित्तीय आवंटन के साथ स्वास्थ्य एवं कल्याण के प्रति एक समग्र दृष्टिकोण अपनाया है।
• 2020-2021 के दौरान इसमें 137% की वृद्धि हुई है।
• इस नीति के उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त करने के लिए, सरकार 2025 तक जीडीपी के 2.5% को स्वास्थ्य पर व्यय करने की दिशा में काम कर रही है।
• सरकार राज्य सरकारों को राज्य के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद का 8% तक राज्य के स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र में व्यय को बढ़ाने के लिए भी प्रोत्साहित कर रही है।

महिंदर गिरी ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय रेंजर पुरस्कार जीता

• महिंदर गिरी, एक रेंज अधिकारी जिन्हें पिछले कुछ वर्षों से राजाजी टाइगर रिज़र्व (RTR) के मोतीचूर रेंज में तैनात किया गया है, प्रतिष्ठित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय रेंजर अवार्ड जीतने वाले एशिया के एकमात्र रेंजर बन गए हैं।

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा लिखित परीक्षा वारियर्स का नया संस्करण अब छात्रों और अभिभावकों के लिए कई नए मंत्रों के साथ उपलब्ध है। यह रिटेल स्टोर्स के साथ-साथ ऑनलाइन भी उपलब्ध है। परीक्षा वारियर्स मॉड्यूल NaMo ऐप पर भी उपलब्ध है।

ड्यूश बैंक का नया निवेश बैंकिंग प्रमुख

US President Biden invites PM Modi to Leaders Summit on Climate

• President Joe Biden has invited 40 world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to a US-hosted virtual summit on climate next month to underscore the urgency and the economic benefits of stronger climate action. Biden will host a two-day climate summit of world leaders starting on Earth Day, April 22, in which he will outline the US goal for reductions of carbon emissions by 2030, known as the nationally determined contribution under the historic Paris accord.
• The White House said a total of 40 world leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, were invited to the conference, which will be live-streamed to the public.
• Other leaders invited for the summit include Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering are the other two leaders from South Asia to be invited for the mega-conference.

Noted journalist and author Anil Dharker passes away

• Noted journalist and author Anil Dharker passed away. He was the founder and director of the Mumbai International Literary Festival. He was in his mid-70s, was the editor of several publications including Mid-Day and The Independent and played a vital role in opening the Akashwani Auditorium in south Mumbai as an art movie theatre.
• Dharker had been the editor of a variety of publications, starting with ‘Debonair’, ‘Mid-Day’; ‘The Independent’ and ‘The Illustrated Weekly of India’.
• He was a columnist for The Indian Express newspaper and has authored ‘The Romance Of Salt’, a book on Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi March. He had also worked as a TV show producer and anchor.
• He was also a member of the Advisory Boards of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Children’s Film Society of India.

India and US agree to revamp SEP

• India and the US on Monday decided to revamp the existing energy cooperation framework to focus more on clean energy keeping advanced American technology and the rapidly growing Indian energy market in mind to reflect new priorities set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden.
• Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan and US energy secretary Jennifer Granholm have decided to revamp the India-US Strategic Energy Partnership (SEP) accordingly and convene the third meeting of the revamped SEP at an early date, requesting anonymity.
• “Earlier, two SEPs were [held under the Trump Administration], where the focus of energy cooperation was more on supply of fossil fuels from America rather than cooperation in reducing carbon footprints. While the import of fossil fuel from the US will continue, Washington will support India’s efforts for clean energy,” the official said. The inaugural SEP, a ministerial meeting, was first held on April 17, 2018. Its second meeting took place on July 17, 2020.

India, South Korea agree on joint production, export of military hardware

• In a significant move, India and South Korea have agreed to go for joint production and export of military hardware, enhance intelligence sharing and boost cooperation in cyber and space domains as part overall expansion of defence and security ties.
• The decisions were taken during delegation-level talks between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his South Korean counterpart Suh Wook on Friday with both sides resolving to give a major push to ramp up ties.
• The South Korean minister was on a three-day visit to India from Thursday last that was focused on boosting bilateral defence and military cooperation.

7th annual summit of NATHEALTH

• Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Harsh Vardhan, addressed the 7th annual summit of NATHEALTH. The summit focused on ‘Indian Health system expansion in post-COVID era’. While addressing the summit the minister reiterated the commitments of the government for fulfilling the goal of Health for all.
• The primary vision of the policy-framework is to attain highest possible level of health and well-being for all irrespective of all age groups. To attain this vision, the policy emphasizes on preventive & promotive aspects of health and providing universal access to good quality healthcare services. Government also launched Ayushman Bharat program with the objective of providing Universal Free Access to primary health care, promoting health and wellbeing.

About Health Union Budget 2021-22

• Union Budget 2021-22 also identifies Health as one of the six main pillars to drive growth.
• It has adopted a holistic approach towards health and wellbeing with a financial allocation of Rs 2,23,846 crore in 2021-22.
• It accounts for an increase of 137% over 2020-2021.
• To achieve the objectives of the policy, the government is working towards increasing health expenditure by 2.5 % of GDP 2025.
• The government is also encouraging State Governments to increase State sector health spending to 8% of the State’s GDP.

Mahinder Giri Wins International Ranger Award

• Mahinder Giri, a range officer who has been deployed at Motichur range of Rajaji Tiger Reserve (RTR) for the past few years, has become the only ranger from Asia to win the prestigious International Ranger Award.
• The award has been announced for 10 professionals across the globe by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), “based on their contribution towards conservation”.

• PM Modi unveils new version of 'Exam Warriors' to make them stress free before examinations.
• The new version of Exam Warriors written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now available with many new mantras for students as well as parents. It is available at retail stores as well as online. The Exam Warriors module is also available on the NaMo App.
• In a series of tweets, Mr Modi said, the new edition of the book has been enriched with valuable inputs from students, parents and teachers. Substantive new parts have been added that would especially interest the parents and teachers. He said the book reaffirms the need to remain stress free before an exam. Deutsche bank's new investment Banking head

• Deutsche Bank has named Fabrizio Campelli to lead its investment bank — part of a raft of board changes — as the German lender's chief executive, Christian Sewing, steps back from managing the unit.
• Campelli, who has most recently served as its chief transformation officer, will take responsibility for Deutsche's corporate and investment bank, it said in a statement. The move is part of a series of changes at the bank, which include handing Sewing a renewed contract to keep him at the helm until 2026, in what it described as a "clear signal of continuity".

S&P raises India’s FY22 GDP growth forecast to 11% from 10%

• S&P Global Ratings raised India’s growth forecast for the financial year 2021-22 to 11% from 10% earlier, led by an expansionary fiscal policy aimed at boosting domestic private spending.
• It has also raised the 2021 growth forecast for China to 8% from 7% on stronger-than-expected exports and lingering momentum in the property market.
