विश्व बैंक ने C-19 टीकों के लिए $8 बिलियन की अतिरिक्त धनराशि की घोषणा की

• विश्व बैंक ने विकासशील देशों के लिए C-19 टीकों के लिए $8 बिलियन के अतिरिक्त वित्त पोषण की घोषणा की है। इसके साथ, C-19 वैक्सीन के लिए उपलब्ध कुल वित्तपोषण $20 बिलियन तक पहुंच गया है। इससे पहले विश्व बैंक ने इसके लिए 12 अरब डॉलर की घोषणा की थी। इस फंडिंग का इस्तेमाल अगले 18 महीनों में 2022 के अंत तक किया जाएगा।
• विश्व बैंक समूह के अध्यक्ष डेविड मलपास ने भी विकासशील देशों द्वारा उपयोग के लिए इसे जारी करने के लिए अधिशेष खुराक वाले देशों का आह्वान किया है और वैक्सीन निर्माताओं से ऐसे विकासशील देशों के लिए उपलब्ध खुराक को प्राथमिकता देने का अनुरोध किया है जिनकी तत्काल आवश्यकता है। इसके अलावा, बैंक ने 51 विकासशील देशों, जिनमें से आधे अफ्रीका में हैं, के लिए C-19 टीकों की खरीद और तैनाती के लिए $4 बिलियन से अधिक प्रदान किए।

जम्मू-कश्मीर के उपराज्यपाल, मनोज सिन्हा ने “HAUSLA- Inspiring her growth”लॉन्च किया

• उपराज्यपाल जम्मू-कश्मीर, मनोज सिन्हा ने यूटी में महिला उद्यमिता को उत्प्रेरित करने के लिए एक व्यापक कार्यक्रम "हौसला- इन्स्पाइरिंग हर ग्रोथ" लॉन्च किया है। सरकार की प्राथमिकता महिला और पुरुष उद्यमियों के बीच की खाई को व्यवस्थित तरीके से कम करना और उन महिलाओं को प्रोत्साहित करना है, जो वर्तमान में विभिन्न व्यवसायों में लगी हुई हैं ताकि वे भी 'हौसला' कार्यक्रम का हिस्सा बन सकें।
• नवोन्मेषी पहल का उद्देश्य महिला उद्यमियों को रोल मॉडल के रूप में पहचान कर उन्हें सशक्त बना कर, उन्हें बाजार, नेटवर्क, प्रशिक्षण और निरंतर समर्थन प्रदान कर और बाद में अन्य स्थानीय महिला उद्यमियों को प्रेरित करने के लिए एक पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र का निर्माण कर केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में समग्र विकास प्रक्रिया के महत्वपूर्ण चालक के रूप में सशक्त बनाना है।

जम्मू-कश्मीर के मुख्य सचिव एके मेहता ने एसडीआरएफ की पहली बटालियन की 24×7 मानसिक स्वास्थ्य हेल्पलाइन ‘SUKOON’ का उद्घाटन किया

• जम्मू-कश्मीर के मुख्य सचिव, अरुण कुमार मेहता ने अपने मुख्यालय में SDRF की पहली बटालियन की 24×7 मानसिक स्वास्थ्य हेल्पलाइन 'सुकून (SUKOON)' का उद्घाटन किया। मिशन यूथ जम्मू-कश्मीर और पर्यटन विभाग के सहयोग से SDRF फर्स्ट बटालियन कश्मीर द्वारा शुरू की गई यह पहल, कॉल करने वाले को नैदानिक मनोवैज्ञानिकों, चिकित्सकों, परामर्शदाताओं और मनोचिकित्सकों की सेवाओं का लाभ उठाने के लिए मार्गदर्शन करेगी।
• 'सुकून' (टोल-फ्री नंबर 1800-1807159) उन व्यक्तियों (या उनके शुभचिंतकों) को मार्गदर्शन प्रदान करने के लिए एक मानसिक स्वास्थ्य हेल्पलाइन पहल है, जो चिंता, अवसाद, तनाव, पैनिक अटैक, PTSD, समायोजन विकार, आत्महत्या के विचार, मादक द्रव्यों के सेवन, मानसिक स्वास्थ्य आपातकाल और महामारी प्रेरित मनोवैज्ञानिक तनाव का अनुभव कर रहे हैं।

• तीन वर्ष पहले, भारत के आर प्रज्ञानानंद उनसे लगभग आगे निकल गए थे, लेकिन एक झटके से मौका चूक गए।

एयर मार्शल विवेक राम चौधरी होंगे भारतीय वायुसेना के नए वाइस चीफ

• एयर मार्शल विवेक राम चौधरी, एयर मार्शल हरजीत सिंह अरोड़ा के बाद भारतीय वायुसेना के नए उप प्रमुख होंगे। एयर मार्शल चौधरी वर्तमान में IAF के पश्चिमी वायु कमान (WAC) के कमांडर-इन-चीफ के रूप में कार्यरत हैं, जो संवेदनशील लद्दाख सेक्टर के साथ-साथ उत्तर भारत के विभिन्न अन्य हिस्सों में देश के हवाई क्षेत्र की सुरक्षा की देखभाल करता है। एयर मार्शल अरोड़ा सेवानिवृत्त हुए और एयर मार्शल चौधरी के कार्यभार संभालने की संभावना है।
• राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी के पूर्व छात्र, एयर मार्शल चौधरी को 29 दिसंबर, 1982 को भारतीय वायुसेना की लड़ाकू धारा में शामिल किया गया था। लगभग 38 वर्षों के प्रतिष्ठित करियर में, अधिकारी ने IAF की सूची में विभिन्न प्रकार के लड़ाकू और प्रशिक्षक विमान उड़ाए हैं। उन्हें मिग-21, मिग-23 एमएफ, मिग 29 और सुखोई-30 एमकेआई लड़ाकू विमानों पर परिचालन उड़ान सहित 3,800 घंटे से अधिक के उड़ान का अनुभव है।

• विश्व यूएफओ दिवस (WUD) प्रतिवर्ष 2 जुलाई को विश्व स्तर पर आयोजित किया जाता है। यह दिन विश्व यूएफओ दिवस संगठन (WUFODO) द्वारा अज्ञात उड़ान वस्तुओं (UFO) के अस्तित्व को समर्पित है।
• WUD का उद्देश्य UFO के अस्तित्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना और लोगों को ब्रह्मांड में अकेले नहीं होने की संभावना के बारे में सोचने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना है। प्रारंभ में, यह दिन 24 जून को मनाया जाता था। बाद में, इस दिन को मनाने के लिए 2 जुलाई को WUFODO की स्थापना की गई।

विश्व खेल पत्रकार दिवस 2021: 02 जुलाई

• विश्व खेल पत्रकार दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 2 जुलाई को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। इस दिन का उद्देश्य खेल पत्रकारों के काम को स्वीकार करना और उन्हें अपने काम में बेहतर करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना है। खेल पत्रकार विश्‍व के लाखों लोगों को विभिन्न खेलों के बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त करने में मदद करते हैं। इस पेशेवर ने पूरी विश्‍व में कई तरह के खेलों के विकास में मदद की है। अपने पेशे में अपने मानकों को बनाए रखने के लिए इन पत्रकारों के अपने संघ हैं। यह पूरी विश्‍व में मनाया गया और इंटरनेशनल स्पोर्ट्स प्रेस एसोसिएशन द्वारा एकजुट किया गया।
• विश्व खेल पत्रकार दिवस की स्थापना 1994 में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय खेल प्रेस संघ (AIPS) द्वारा संगठन की स्थापना की 70 वीं वर्षगांठ को मनाने के लिए की गई थी। AIPS का गठन 2 जुलाई 1924 को पेरिस में ग्रीष्मकालीन ओलंपिक के दौरान हुआ था।

उड़िया कवि आर के पांडा ने वर्ष 2020 के लिए कुवेम्पु राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार जीता

• दिवंगत कवि पुरस्कार कुवेम्पु की स्मृति में स्थापित राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार, कुवेम्पु राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार, वर्ष 2020 के लिए प्रसिद्ध ओडिया कवि डॉ राजेंद्र किशोर पांडा को प्रदान किया गया है। प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार में 5 लाख रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार, एक रजत पदक, और एक प्रमाणपत्र शामिल है।
• 24 जून 1944 को जन्मे डॉ. पांडा उड़िया भाषा के लेखक हैं। उनके 16 कविता संग्रह और एक उपन्यास प्रकाशित हो चुके हैं। वह एक प्रमुख भारतीय कवि हैं, जिन्होंने आधुनिक ओडिया कविता के मार्ग को महान ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंचाया। उन्हें 2010 में गंगाधर राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार और 1985 में साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था। उन्हें संबलपुर विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा डीएलआईटी से सम्मानित किया गया था।
• 1992 में स्थापित, राष्ट्रकवि कुवेम्पु ट्रस्ट ने भारत के संविधान द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त किसी भी भाषा में योगदान देने वाले साहित्यकारों को सम्मानित करने के लिए 2013 में कुवेम्पु के नाम से इस राष्ट्रीय वार्षिक साहित्यिक पुरस्कार की स्थापना की थी।

ग्लोबल स्टार्टअप इकोसिस्टम इंडेक्स 2021: भारत 20वें स्थान पर रहा

• स्टार्टअप ब्लिंक द्वारा ग्लोबल स्टार्टअप इकोसिस्टम इंडेक्स 2021 में शीर्ष 100 देशों में भारत 20वें स्थान पर है। देश 2019 में 17वें स्थान पर था, जिसके बाद यह छह स्थान नीचे गिरकर 2020 में 23वें स्थान पर रहा। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भारत को अपने स्टार्ट-अप पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र को और मजबूत करने के लिए अपने बुनियादी ढांचे और इंटरनेट की गति को बेहतर बनाने की जरूरत है।
• वर्तमान में भारत के 43 शहर विश्व स्तर पर शीर्ष 1000 में सूचीबद्ध हैं, शीर्ष 20 में बेंगलुरू (10वें), नई दिल्ली (14वें) और मुंबई (16वें) हैं।
• पिछले वर्ष की तरह इस वर्ष भी अमेरिका, यूके, इस्राइल, कनाडा और जर्मनी शीर्ष पांच स्थानों पर हैं और अपनी बढ़त जारी रखे हुए हैं।

फ्लिपकार्ट ने 25 मिलियन से अधिक ऑनलाइन उद्यमियों को सक्षम करने के लिए Shopsy लॉन्च किया

• फ्लिपकार्ट ने Shopsy नामक एक ऐप लॉन्च किया है जो भारतीयों को बिना किसी निवेश के अपना ऑनलाइन कारोबार शुरू करने में सक्षम बनाएगा। फ्लिपकार्ट का लक्ष्य 2023 तक Shopsy की मदद से 25 मिलियन से अधिक ऑनलाइन उद्यमियों को सक्षम बनाना है। Shopsy के उपयोगकर्ता फ्लिपकार्ट के विक्रेताओं द्वारा पेश किए गए 15 करोड़ उत्पादों के विस्तृत चयन के कैटलॉग को साझा करने में सक्षम होंगे।

INTERNATIONAL

World Bank announced additional funding of $8 billion for C-19 vaccines, total $20 billion

• The World Bank has announced additional funding of $8 billion for C-19 vaccines, for developing countries. With this, the total financing available for the C-19 vaccine reaches $20 billion. Earlier the World Bank had announced $12 billion for the same. This funding will be used over the next 18 months till 2022 end.
• World Bank Group President David Malpass has also called on countries with surplus doses to release it for use by developing countries and requested vaccine manufacturers to prioritise the available doses for such developing countries that urgently need them. Further, the Bank also provided over $4 billion for the purchase and deployment of C-19 vaccines for 51 developing countries, half of which are in Africa.

J&K’s, Lt Governor , Manoj Sinha launched “HAUSLA- Inspiring her growth”

• Lieutenant Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha has launched the “HAUSLA- inspiring her growth”, a comprehensive programme for Catalysing Women Entrepreneurship in UT. The priority of the government is to reduce the gap between women and men entrepreneurs, in a systematic manner and to encourage women who are currently engaged in various professions so that they too can become a part of the ‘Hausla’ program.
• The intent of the innovative initiative is to empower Women as vital drivers of the overall development process in the UT by identifying & empowering Women Entrepreneurs as role models, providing them with markets, networks, training & continuous support and subsequently building an ecosystem to inspire other local women entrepreneurs.

K. Mehta Chief Secretary of J&K, inaugurated SDRF first Battalion’s 24×7 mental health helpline ‘SUKOON’

• J&K Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta, inaugurated SDRF first Battalion’s 24×7 mental health helpline ‘SUKOON’ at its headquarters. This initiative, launched by SDRF First Battalion Kashmir in collaboration with Mission Youth J&K and Tourism department, will guide the caller to avail services of clinical psychologists, therapists, counsellors and psychiatrists.
• ‘SUKOON’ is a mental health helpline initiative (toll-free number 1800-1807159) to offer guidance to persons (or their well-wishers) who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, panic attack, PTSD, adjustment disorder, suicidal thoughts, substance abuse, mental health emergency and pandemic induced psychological stress.
• First, 200 SDRF and 40 NDRF personnel were trained for C-19 care duties and then deployed at Seven hospitals in J&K while the launch of the Sukoon helpline is the second step to support persons facing health issues.

India’s oldest running newspaper, “Mumbai Samachar”, will enter its 200th year

• On July 1, India’s oldest running newspaper, Mumbai Samachar, will enter its 200th year. The Gujarati newspaper, with its office located in an iconic red building at Horniman Circle in Mumbai’s Fort area, was first published in 1822. It was founded by a Parsi scholar Fardoonji Murazban, who had experimented with various other publishing options before landing on this successful print run.
• Formerly called Bombay Samachar, in Gujarati, the paper has always run as Mumbai na Samachar. It started as a weekly edition, primarily covering the movement of goods across the sea and other business news, such as the sale of property, and passed through several hands until bankruptcy turned it over to the Cama family in 1933.

Abhimanyu Mishra becomes youngest ever chess Grandmaster in the world

• Indian-origin American Abhimanyu Mishra has become the youngest-ever chess Grandmaster in the world.
• At 12 years, four months and 25 days, he obliterated the long-standing record held by Sergey Karjakin, who was 12 years and seven months old when he attained the title. Three years ago, India’s R Praggnanandhaa had almost surpassed him but missed the opportunity by a whisker.

Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari will be new Indian Air Force Vice Chief

• Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari will be the new Vice Chief of Indian Air Force succeeding Air Marshal Harjit Singh Arora. Air Marshal Chaudhari is currently serving as commander-in-chief of the IAF’s Western Air Command (WAC) that looks after the security of the country’s air space in the sensitive Ladakh sector as well as various other parts of north India. Air Marshal Arora retired from service and Air Marshal Chaudhari is likely to take charge of the new assignment.
• An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Air Marshal Chaudhari was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on December 29, 1982. In a distinguished career spanning nearly 38 years, the officer has flown a wide variety of fighter and trainer aircraft in the inventory of IAF. He has a flying experience of more than 3,800 hours, including operational flying on MiG-21, MiG-23 MF, MiG 29 and Su-30 MKI fighter jets.

World UFO Day 2021: 02 July

• The World UFO Day (WUD) is held on July 2 every year globally. It is a day dedicated to the existence of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) by the World UFO Day Organization (WUFODO).
• WUD aims to raise awareness about the existence of UFOs and encouraging people to think about the possibility of us not being alone in the Universe. Initially, the day was observed on June 24. Later, WUFODO established on July 2 to commemorate the day.

World Sports Journalists Day 2021: 02 July

• World Sports Journalists Day is observed globally on 2nd July every year. The day aims to acknowledge the work of sports journalists & to encourage them to do better at their work. Sports journalists help millions of people in the world to receive information on various sports. This professional has helped in the development of many kinds of games all over the world. These journalists have their associations to maintain their standards in their profession. It was found all over the world and united by the International Sports Press Association.
• World Sports Journalist Day was established by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) in 1994 to mark the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the organization. AIPS was formed on July 2 of 1924, during the Summer Olympics in Paris.

Odia poet R. K. Panda bags Kuvempu Rashtriya Puraskar for the year 2020

• The Kuvempu Rashtriya Puraskar, the national award instituted in memory of late poet laureate Kuvempu, has been awarded to renowned Odia poet Dr. Rajendra Kishore Panda for the year 2020. The prestigious award carries a cash award of Rs 5 lakh, a silver medal, and a citation.
• Born on June 24, 1944, Dr. Panda writes in the Odia language. He has published 16 poetry collections and a novel. He is a major Indian poet who steered the path of modern Odia poetry to great heights. He was awarded the Gangadhar National Award in 2010, and the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1985. He was awarded a DLitt by Sambalpur University.
• Founded in 1992, Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Trust instituted this national annual literary award in 2013 in the name of Kuvempu to recognize litterateurs who had contributed in any language recognized by the Constitution of India.

Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2021 : India ranked 20th

• India stands at the 20th spot among the top 100 countries that have been ranked in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2021 by Startup Blink. The country was in the 17th spot in 2019, after which it slid six spots down and stood at 23 in 2020. According to the report, India needs to better its infrastructure and Internet speed in order to further strengthen its start-up ecosystem.
• India currently has 43 of its cities listed in the top 1000, globally, with Bengaluru(10th), New Delhi (14th) and Mumbai (16th) in the top 20.
• Like last year, the US, the UK, Israel, Canada and Germany are in the top five spots this year too and continue their lead.

Flipkart launched Shopsy to enable over 25 mn online entrepreneurs

• Flipkart has launched Shopsy, an app that will enable Indians to start their online businesses without any investment. Flipkart aims to enable over 25 million online entrepreneurs by 2023 with the help of Shopsy. Users of Shopsy will be able to share catalogues of a wide selection of 15 crore products offered by Flipkart sellers.
• These users can share catalogues with potential customers via popular social media and messaging apps, place orders on their behalf and earn commissions on the transactions. These range across fashion, beauty, mobiles, electronics and home, with potential customers via popular social media and messaging apps. Shopsy’s objective is to power e-commerce for communities and third-party channels where these users spend time/trust.
