सरकार के खिलाफ लड़ने के लिए विशेष आपातकालीन निधि PM CARES Fund ’की स्थापना की 

• भारत सरकार ने 28 मार्च 2020 को ’प्रधान मंत्री नागरिक सहायता और आपातकालीन निधि में राहत’ (पीएम CARES फंड) के नाम से एक सार्वजनिक धर्मार्थ ट्रस्ट की स्थापना की है। 

• इस समर्पित राष्ट्रीय कोष का प्राथमिक उद्देश्य किसी भी प्रकार की आपातकालीन या संकटपूर्ण स्थिति से निपटना है, जैसे कि महामारी द्वारा उत्पन्न। 

• प्रधान मंत्री इस ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष हैं जबकि रक्षा मंत्री, गृह मंत्री और वित्त मंत्री इसके अन्य सदस्य हैं। 

• माइक्रो-दान को सक्षम करने के लिए फंड की स्थापना की गई है, जिससे बड़ी संख्या में लोग छोटे संप्रदायों के साथ योगदान करने में सक्षम हो सकें। 

• इस निधि के दान को आईटी अधिनियम की धारा 80 (जी) के तहत आयकर से छूट दी जाएगी। 

• नागरिक और संगठन वेबसाइट pmindia.gov.in पर जा सकते हैं और PM Cares Fund को दान कर सकते हैं। 

• देश का सबसे बड़ा ऋणदाता, भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (SBI) PM Cares Fund का खाता रखेगा। 

भारत सरकार ने लॉन्च किया 'कवच' ऐप, 

भारत सरकार के स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक व सूचना प्रोद्योगिकी मंत्रालय की ओर से मिलकर ट्रैकर ऐप लॉन्च किया गया है। ऐंड्रॉयड यूजर्स इस ऐप को गूगल प्ले स्टोर से डाउनलोड कर सकते हैं और इसकी मदद से जान सकेंगे कि उनपर संक्रमण का कितना खतरा है या फिर उन्हें कोई कदम उठाने की जरूरत है। फिलहाल यह ऐप अभी बीटा स्टेज में है और इसके सभी फीचर टेस्ट  जा रहे हैं। 

ऐप की मदद से यूजर्स के स्मार्टफोन डेटा को उनकी लोकेशन की मदद से ट्रैक किया जाएगा। अगर यूजर किसी संक्रमित व्यक्ति के संपर्क में आया है या आसपास रहा है तो उसे अलर्ट कर दिया जाएगा। ऑफिशल डिस्क्रिप्शन में लिखा गया है कि ऐप का मकसद यूजर्स को  के बारे में जानकारी देना और डेटा जुटाना है। कवच ऐप अभी केवल ऐंड्रॉयड यूजर्स के लिए उपलब्ध है। 

नए किट को मिली मंजूरी, सिर्फ 5 मिनट में करेगी की जांच 

Test Kit के संक्रमण की जांच से जुड़ी एक किट को अमेरिका में मंजूरी मिल गई है. ये किट संक्रमण की जांच महज 5 मिनट में ही नतीजे जारी करेगी. अमेरिका की दवा कंपनी एबोट (Abbott ) ने इसे बनाया है. अमेरिकी दवा रेग्युलेटर USFDA ने भी इसे मंजूरी दे दी है. कंपनी का कहना है कि अगले हफ्ते से इस किट को बनाना शुरू कर देंगे. 

नई किट को मिली मंजूरी- एबोट का कहना है कि का पता लगाने के लिए अभी तक इस्तेमाल किए नूमने सही पाए गए हैं. इसके तीव्र, पोर्टेबल, पॉइंट-ऑफ-केयर मॉलिक्यूलर जांच के लिए यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स फूड एंड ड्रग एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन का इमरजेंसी यूज़ ऑथराइजेशन (EUA) मिल चुका है. 

बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था 

अगले वित्त वर्ष में आर्थिक वृद्धि लुढ़ककर 2.6% पर आने की आशंका: SBI इकोरैप 

महामारी के कारण के चलते अगले वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 में आर्थिक वृद्धि दर तेजी से घटकर 2.6 प्रतिशत पर आ सकती है। एसबीआई रिसर्च की रिपोर्ट इकोरैप के अनुसार 2019-20 में जीडीपी (सकल घरेलू उत्पाद) वृद्धि दर भी 5 प्रतिशत से घटकर 4.5 प्रतिशत रह सकती है। इसका कारण चालू वित्त वर्ष की चौथी तिमाही में जीडीपी वृद्धि दर 2.5 प्रतिशत रहने का अनुमान है। 

नीचे जाती दिख रही वृद्धि 

रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, ‘को देखते हुए हमारा अनुमान है कि देश की जीडीपी वृद्धि दर 2020-21 में 2.6 प्रतिशत पर आ सकती है। अगले वित्त वर्ष की पहली तिमाही में आर्थिक वृद्धि दर में गिरावट की आशंका है, इससे कुल मिलाकर वृद्धि दर नीचे जाती दिख रही है।’ 

अधिग्रहण और विलय 

1 अप्रैल से 10 बैंकों के विलय से बनेंगे 4 बैंक, RBI की अधिसूचना जारी 

 आगामी 1 अप्रैल से आपका बैंक बदलने वाला है, क्योंकिदेश के 10 सरकारी बैंकों का विलय कर चार बड़े बैंक बनाने की कवायद अपने अंतिम चरण में है। 1 अप्रैल को इन 10 बैंकों के विलय से चार बड़े बैंक बनेंगे जो देश के वित्तीय क्षेत्र का सबसे बड़ा विलय होगा। भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने शनिवार को इस विलय को अधिसूचित कर दिया, जो इस महीने की शुरुआत में जारी एक अधिसूचना के जरिए लागू हो जाएगा। 

ओरिएंटल बैंक ऑफ कॉमर्स तथा यूनाइटेड बैंक ऑफ इंडिया की शाखाएं पंजाब नैशनल बैंक (PNB) की शाखाओं के रूप में काम करेंगी। वहीं, सिंडिकेट बैंक केनरा बैंक के रूप में काम करेगा। आंध्र बैंक तथा कॉर्पोरेशन बैंक की शाखाएं यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया के रूप में काम करेंगी। जबकि, इलाहाबाद बैंक की शाखाएं इंडियन बैंक की शाखाओं के रूप में काम करेंगी।

Government Sets up special emergency fund ‘PM CARES Fund’ to Fight Against

• The Government of India has set up a public charitable trust under the name of ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund)’ on 28 March 2020. 

• The primary objective of this dedicated national fund is to deal with any kind of emergency or distress situation, like posed by the pandemic. 

• Prime Minister is the Chairman of this trust while Defence Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister are its other members. 

• The fund has been set up to enable micro-donations, allowing a large number of people to be able to contribute with smallest of denominations. 

• Donations to this fund will be exempted from income tax under section 80(G) of the IT Act. 

• Citizens and organisations can go to the website pmindia.gov.in and donate to PM CARES Fund. 

• The country’s largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI) will be hold the account of the PM Cares Fund. 

Government of India launches risk-tracking app 

• Government of India has launched a risk-tracking app in India

• The app has been developed by the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

• The app uses a person’s location to assess whether they are in the high-risk geographical zone or not. It will track the data of the users every one hour to alert them of whether they have crossed paths with any person who has tested positive for the infection. 

Abbott Labs launches 5-minute Test

• Abbott Laboratories, United States is unveiling a test which will tell if someone is infected within 5 minutes. This test is so small and portable it is often utilized in almost any health-care setting. 

• The test starts with taking a swab from the nose or the rear of the throat, then mixing it with a chemical solution that breaks open the and releases its RNA. 

• The mixture is inserted into an ID Now system, a small box weighing slightly below 7 pounds that has the technology to spot and amplify select sequences of the genome and ignore contamination

Goa becomes the 1st state to launch assessment tool

• The Government of Goa has launched a self-assessment tool, to assist people in identifying symptoms and risks of being infected by, without having to visit a healthcare facility physically. 

• With this, Goa has become the first state to launch India’s first digital initiative to tackle.

• The self-assessment tool named ‘Test Yourself Goa’ has been launched by the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Goa in partnership with Innovaccer. 

Banking and Economy 

India’s GDP growth estimated at 4.5% for FY’20; 2.6% for FY’21: SBI report 

• According to the SBI Ecowrap report released by the State Bank of India (SBI), the GDP growth rate of India for the financial year 2020-21 is likely to fall to 2.6 percent due to the ongoing 21-day Restriction. 

• The GDP growth estimate for the current fiscal, i.e. 2019-20 is estimated at 4.5 percent. 

Acquisitions and Mergers 

Mega merger of 10 state-run banks into four lenders will come into force from April 1 

• The Reserve Bank of India has announced that the schemes for the merger of ten state-run banks into four banks will take effect from 1 April 2020. 

• The banking regulator has also announced that the branches of merging banks will operate as the branch of the banks in which these have been amalgamated, from the beginning of next fiscal year 2020-21. 

• After the merger, the total number of PSBs will be reduced to 12 from 27 PSBs, including 7 large PSBs and 5 small PSBs. 

• Also, the anchor bank Punjab National Bank will become the country’s second largest bank with asset size of Rs 17.94 lakh crore, after SBI (over Rs 52 lakh crore). 

• The amalgamation is the part of RBI’s consolidation plan to create bigger size stronger banks in the public sector. 

• The following amalgamation will take place: 

1. Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India will merge with Punjab National Bank (PNB) branches 

2. Syndicate Bank will merge with Canara Bank 

3. Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank will merge into Union Bank of India 

4. Allahabad Bank will merge into Indian Bank.
