WHO ने नए C-19 वैरिएंट B.1.1529 को Omicron के रूप में वर्गीकृत किया

• विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) ने नए C-19 वैरिएंट B.1.1.1.529 को Omicron के रूप में वर्गीकृत किया है। नए C-19 संस्करण B.1.1.1.529 को पहली बार 24 नवंबर 2021 को दक्षिण अफ्रीका से WHO को सूचित किया गया था। WHO के अनुसार, यह स्ट्रेन अन्य रूपों की तुलना में अधिक तेजी से फैल सकता है। इसमें बड़ी संख्या में उत्परिवर्तन होते हैं। WHO ने कहा कि प्रारंभिक साक्ष्य अन्य वेरिएंट की तुलना में इस प्रकार के पुन: संक्रमण के बढ़ते जोखिम का सुझाव देते हैं। WHO ने यह भी कहा कि वर्तमान पीसीआर परीक्षण वैरिएंट का सफलतापूर्वक पता लगाने के लिए जारी है।
• यह वर्गीकरण Omicron को विश्व स्तर पर प्रमुख डेल्टा के साथ-साथ इसके कमजोर प्रतिद्वंद्वियों अल्फा, बीटा और गामा के साथ C-19 वेरिएंट की सबसे अधिक परेशान करने वाली श्रेणी में रखता है।
• दक्षिण अफ्रीका के अलावा, इज़राइल में मलावी; बोत्सवाना; बेल्जियम और हांगकांग से आने वाले व्यक्ति में Omicron पाया गया है।

पर्वतारोही हर्षवंती बिष्ट बनी भारतीय पर्वतारोहण फाउंडेशन की पहली महिला अध्यक्ष

• उत्तराखंड की प्रसिद्ध पर्वतारोही हर्षवंती बिष्ट ने भारतीय पर्वतारोहण फाउंडेशन (IMF) की पहली महिला अध्यक्ष चुने जाने का गौरव प्राप्त किया है। 62 वर्षीय बिष्ट ने प्रतिष्ठित पद के लिए चुने जाने के लिए कुल 107 वोटों में से 60 वोट हासिल किए। यह पहली बार है कि किसी महिला को आईएमएफ के अध्यक्ष के रूप में चुना गया है, जिसकी स्थापना वर्ष 1958 में हुई थी।
• पौड़ी जिले के सुकई नामक गांव की रहने वाली 62 वर्षीय बिष्ट कहती हैं कि पर्वतारोहण और अन्य साहसिक खेलों को बढ़ावा देना और अधिक महिलाओं को मैदान में लाना उनकी प्राथमिकताओं में होगा।
• पर्वतारोहण के क्षेत्र में अपनी उपलब्धियों के लिए अर्जुन पुरस्कार से सम्मानित बिष्ट ने कहा कि एक समय था जब पर्वतारोहण जैसे साहसिक खेलों में उत्तराखंड शीर्ष पर हुआ करता था लेकिन हाल के वर्षों में परिदृश्य बदल गया है।
• 1975 में उत्तरकाशी स्थित नेहरू पर्वतारोहण संस्थान से पर्वतारोहण का कोर्स करने वाली बिष्ट ने 1981 में नंदा देवी की चोटी पर चढ़ाई की, जिससे उन्हें अर्जुन पुरस्कार मिला। वह 1984 में माउंट एवरेस्ट के लिए एक अभियान दल की सदस्य भी थीं।
• अर्थशास्त्र की प्रोफेसर बिष्ट हाल ही में उत्तरकाशी के पीजी कॉलेज के प्राचार्या के पद से सेवानिवृत्त हुई हैं।

राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार विजेता कोरियोग्राफर शिव शंकर का निधन

• राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार विजेता कोरियोग्राफर के शिवशंकर का रविवार को 72 वर्ष की आयु में सी-19 संबंधित जटिलताओं के कारण निधन हो गया। तेलुगु कोरियोग्राफर का कल हैदराबाद में निधन हो गया।

फ़िलिस्तीनी लोगों के साथ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एकजुटता दिवस 29 नवंबर 2021

• फ़िलिस्तीनी लोगों के साथ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एकजुटता दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 29 नवंबर को संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा आयोजित एक दिवस है। इस दिन का उद्देश्य जनता को फिलिस्तीन के सवाल पर शिक्षित करना और इजरायल-फिलिस्तीनी संघर्ष के शांतिपूर्ण समाधान का समर्थन करना है। यह संकल्प 181 की वर्षगांठ को चिह्नित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है, जिसमें विधानसभा ने 29 नवंबर, 1947 को फिलिस्तीन के विभाजन पर प्रस्ताव को अपनाया था।
• 1977 में, महासभा ने 29 नवंबर को फिलीस्‍तीनी लोगों के साथ अंतर्राष्‍ट्रीय एकजुटता दिवस के रूप में वार्षिक रूप से मनाने का आह्वान किया। उस दिन 1947 में विधानसभा ने फिलिस्तीन के विभाजन पर प्रस्ताव पारित किया था। इस तारीख को फिलिस्तीनी लोगों के लिए इसके अर्थ और महत्व के कारण चुना गया था, जो कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा के फिलिस्तीन के विभाजन प्रस्ताव पर आधारित एक वार्षिक दिवस है।

इफ्फी में छठे ब्रिक्स फिल्म महोत्सव पुरस्कारों की घोषणा

• निर्देशक एमी जेफ्ता द्वारा दक्षिण अफ्रीकी फिल्म बराकत और निर्देशक ल्यूबोव बोरिसोवा द्वारा रूसी फिल्म द सन अपव मी नेवर सेट्स ने छठे संस्करण ब्रिक्स फिल्म महोत्सव में सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्म का पुरस्कार साझा किया है। पहली बार ब्रिक्स फिल्म महोत्सव 20-28 नवंबर, 2021 के दौरान गोवा में भारत के 52वें अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव के साथ आयोजित किया गया था।
• इन फिल्मों को मानवीय भावनाओं के शानदार सिनेमाई चित्रण और पर्दे पर शानदार कहानी कहने के लिए पुरस्कार दिए गए।
• फिल्मों और प्रतिभाओं की उत्कृष्टता पर टिप्पणी करते हुए, ब्रिक्स जूरी के अध्यक्ष, राहुल रवैल ने कहा, “इस वर्ष जूरी में कुछ बहुत ही सक्षम लोग थे और इस प्रक्रिया के दौरान हमने जो महसूस किया वह यह था कि हालांकि हम विभिन्न संस्कृतियों के हैं, जब हम देखते हैं फिल्में, हम सब एक जैसे हैं। इस विश्‍व को ऐसा ही होना चाहिए।"

 जापानी फिल्म 'रिंग वांडरिंग ने आईएफएफआई में गोल्डन पीकॉक अवार्ड जीता'

• जापानी निर्देशक मसाकाजू कानेको की रिंग वांडरिंग, जो टोक्यो के युद्धकालीन अतीत की खोज करती है, ने रविवार को गोवा में भारतीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव (आईएफएफआई) के 52वें संस्करण के समापन समारोह में प्रतिष्ठित गोल्डन पीकॉक पुरस्कार जीता।
• द रिंग वांडरिंग, जो एक मजदूर और एक महत्वाकांक्षी मंगा कलाकार की कहानी को दर्शाता है, जिसकी अपनी कला को पूरा करने के लिए हड्डियों की खोज युद्ध-समय की यादों को उजागर करती है, ने "खूबसूरती से फोटो खिंचवाने वाले संयोजन" होने के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिता खंड में शीर्ष सम्मान जीता। कल्पना और मंगा से प्रेरित वास्तविकता, वर्तमान जापानी समाज में अतीत की गूँज के साथ एक आकर्षण को दर्शाती है"।

सरकार द्वारा तैयार किया गया बहुआयामी गरीबी सूचकांक (एमपीआई)

• सरकार के थिंक टैंक नीति आयोग ने राष्ट्रीय, राज्य / केंद्र शासित प्रदेश और जिला स्तरों पर गरीबी को मापने के लिए पहला बहुआयामी गरीबी सूचकांक (MPI) जारी किया है। उद्घाटन सूचकांक के अनुसार, बिहार को बहुआयामी गरीबी के उच्चतम स्तर वाले राज्य के रूप में चुना गया है। राज्य की 51.91 प्रतिशत आबादी बहुआयामी गरीब है।
• बहुआयामी गरीब के रूप में राज्य की 42.16 प्रतिशत आबादी के साथ झारखंड दूसरे स्थान पर है। इसके बाद उत्तर प्रदेश 37.79 प्रतिशत, मध्य प्रदेश (36.65 प्रतिशत) और मेघालय (32.67 प्रतिशत) शीर्ष पांच सबसे गरीब राज्यों में है।
• इस बीच, केरल (0.71 प्रतिशत), गोवा (3.76%), सिक्किम (3.82%), तमिलनाडु (4.89%) और पंजाब (5.59%) पूरे भारत में शीर्ष 5 सबसे कम गरीबी वाले राज्य हैं।
• केरल में कोट्टायम एकमात्र ऐसा जिला है जिसने सूचकांक के अनुसार पूरे देश में शून्य गरीबी दर्ज की है।

 बैंकिंग और आर्थिक

रिजर्व बैंक ने मानदंडों का उल्लंघन करने पर एसबीआई पर 1 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (SBI) पर बैंकिंग विनियमन अधिनियम, 1949 की धारा 19 की उपधारा (2) का उल्लंघन करने पर 1 करोड़ रुपये का मौद्रिक जुर्माना लगाया है। एसबीआई ने उन कंपनियों की चुकता शेयर पूंजी के 30 प्रतिशत से अधिक की उधारकर्ता कंपनियों में शेयर रखे।
• बैंकिंग विनियमन अधिनियम, 1949 की उप-धारा (2) के अनुसार कोई भी बैंकिंग कंपनी किसी कंपनी में गिरवीदार, बंधकग्राही या पूर्ण स्वामी के रूप में उस कंपनी की प्रदत्त शेयर पूंजी के 30 प्रतिशत से अधिक या अपनी स्वयं की प्रदत्त शेयर पूंजी और आरक्षित निधियों के तीस प्रतिशत से अधिक शेयर नहीं रख सकती है।

आरबीआई द्वारा प्रमोटर होल्डिंग पर कैप बढ़ने के बाद हिंदुजा इंडसइंड बैंक में हिस्सेदारी बढ़ाकर 26% करने की योजना 

• भारतीय निजी क्षेत्र के बैंकों के स्वामित्व और कॉर्पोरेट संरचना पर मौजूदा दिशानिर्देशों की समीक्षा करने के लिए, भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक ने जून 2020 में एक आंतरिक कार्य समूह (IWG) का गठन किया था। आईडब्ल्यूजी के संयोजक के रूप में श्रीमोहन यादव के साथ 5 सदस्य थे। आंतरिक कार्य समूह (IWG) ने RBI को 33 सिफारिशें की थीं। अब आरबीआई ने इन 33 में से 21 सिफारिशों को स्वीकार कर लिया है।
• प्रारंभिक लॉक-इन आवश्यकताएं पहले पांच वर्षों के लिए बैंक की पेड-अप वोटिंग इक्विटी शेयर पूंजी के न्यूनतम 40 प्रतिशत के रूप में जारी रहेंगी।
• 15 वर्षों की लंबी अवधि में प्रमोटरों की हिस्सेदारी की सीमा को बैंक की चुकता वोटिंग इक्विटी शेयर पूंजी के 15 प्रतिशत (पहले) से बढ़ाकर 26 प्रतिशत कर दिया गया है।

WHO classifies new C-19 variant B.1.1.529 as Omicron

• World Health Organisation (WHO) has classified the new C-19 variant B.1.1.529 as Omicron. New C-19 variant B.1.1.529 was first reported to WHO from South Africa on 24 November 2021. According to WHO, the strain may spread more quickly than other forms. It has a large number of mutations. WHO said that preliminary evidence suggests an increased risk of reinfection with this variant as compared to other variants. WHO also said that current PCR tests continue to successfully detect the variant.
• The classification puts Omicron into the most-troubling category of C-19 variants, along with the globally-dominant Delta, plus its weaker rivals Alpha, Beta and Gamma.
• Apart from South Africa, Omicron has been detected in Israel in a person coming from Malawi; Botswana; Belgium and Hong Kong.

Mountaineer Harshwanti Bisht becomes first women President of Indian Mountaineering Foundation

• Noted mountaineer from Uttarakhand, Harshwanti Bisht has earned the distinction of being elected the first woman president of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF). The 62-year-old Bisht won 60 out of a total of 107 votes to get elected to the coveted post. It is for the first time that a woman has been elected as the president of the IMF, which was founded in the year 1958.
• Bisht, 62, who hails from a village named Sukai in Pauri district, says promoting mountaineering and other adventure sports, and bringing more women into the field will be among her priorities.
• Bisht, who has been honoured with the Arjuna award for her achievements in the field of mountaineering, said there was a time when Uttarakhand used to be at the top when it came to adventure sports like mountaineering but the scenario has changed in recent years.
• Bisht, who did a course in mountaineering from the Uttarkashi-based Nehru Institute of Mountaineering in 1975, scaled the Nanda Devi peak in 1981 which earned her the Arjuna award. She was also a member of an expedition team to Mount Everest in 1984.
• A professor of economics, Bisht recently retired as the principal of PG College, Uttarkashi.

International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People November 29th 2021

• The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is an UN-organized day held every year on November 29. The day aims to educate the public on the question of Palestine and support a peaceful settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is observed to mark the anniversary of resolution 181, wherein the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine on November 29, 1947.
• In 1977, the General Assembly called for the annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. On that day, in 1947, the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine. This date, which was chosen because of its meaning and significance to the Palestinian people, is based on the call by the United Nations General Assembly for an annual observance of the resolution on the partition of Palestine.

Sixth BRICS film festival awards announced at IFFI

• South African Film Barakat by Director Amy Jephta and Russian Film The Sun above Me Never Sets by Director Lyubov Borisova has shared the Best film Award in the Sixth edition BRICS Film Festival. For the first time the BRICS Film Festival was held alongside the 52nd International Film Festival of India in Goa during November 20-28, 2021.
• The awards were given to these films for their brilliant cinematic portrayal of human emotions and magnificent storytelling on screen.
• Commenting on the excellence of the films and the talents, Rahul Rawail, BRICS Jury Chairperson, said, “The Jury this year had some very able people and what we realized during the process was that though we are of different cultures, when we watch the films, we are all the same. That is the way this world should be.”

 Japanese film 'Ring Wandering wins Golden Peacock Award at IFFI

• Japanese director Masakazu Kaneko’s Ring Wandering, which explores Tokyo’s wartime past, bagged the coveted Golden Peacock Award at the closing ceremony of the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), in Goa on Sunday.
• The Ring Wandering, which captures the story of a labourer and an aspiring manga artist, whose search for bones to complete his art piece unearths war-time memories, won the top honour in the International Competition section for being a “beautifully photographed combination of fantasy and manga-inspired reality, reflecting a fascination with the echoes of the past reverberating in present-day Japanese society”.

Multi-dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) prepared by government

• The government think tank Niti Aayog has released the first-ever Multi-dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) to measure poverty at the national, State/UT, and district levels. As per the inaugural index, Bihar has been adjudged as the state with the highest level of multidimensional poverty. 51.91 per cent of the state’s population are multidimensionally poor.
• Jharkhand is at second position with 42.16 per cent of the state population as multidimensionally poor. This is followed by Uttar Pradesh at 37.79 per cent, Madhya Pradesh (36.65 per cent) and Meghalaya (32.67 per cent) in the top five poorest states.
• Meanwhile, Kerala (0.71 per cent), Goa (3.76%), Sikkim (3.82%), Tamil Nadu (4.89%) and Punjab (5.59 %) are the top 5 lowest poverty states across India.
• Kottayam in Kerala is the only district that registered zero poverty across the country as per the index.

Reserve Bank Imposes Rs 1 Crore Penalty on SBI for Violating Norms

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 1 crore on the State Bank of India (SBI), for violating subsection (2) of section 19 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. SBI held shares in the borrower companies of an amount exceeding 30 per cent of the paid-up share capital of those companies.
• As per Sub-section (2) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, no banking company can hold shares in any company, as pledgee, mortgagee or absolute owner, of an amount exceeding 30 per cent of the paid-up share capital of that company or thirty per cent of its own paid-up share capital and reserves.

Hindujas planning to raise stake in IndusInd Bank to 26% after RBI hike cap on promoter holding

• Reserve Bank of India had formed an Internal Working Group (IWG) in June 2020, to review the extant guidelines on ownership and corporate structure for Indian private sector banks. The IWG had 5 members with Shrimohan Yadav as the convenor. The Internal Working Group (IWG) had made 33 recommendations to RBI. Now RBI has accepted 21 recommendations out of these 33.
• The initial lock-in requirements will continue as a minimum of 40 per cent of the paid-up voting equity share capital of the bank for the first five years.
• The cap on promoters’ stake in the long run of 15 years has been raised from 15 per cent (earlier) to 26 per cent of the paid-up voting equity share capital of the bank.
