स्पाइसजेट ने लद्दाख में लेह के लिए लॉन्च की समर्पित फ्रीटर सेवाएं

• स्पाइसजेट ने लेह को देश के बाकी हिस्सों से जोड़ने वाली समर्पित फ्रीटर सेवाओं (freighter services) की शुरुआत की है। यह पहली बार है जब किसी नागरिक विमान चालक ने लेह के लिए मालवाहक सेवाएं (freighter services) शुरू की हैं। तदनुसार, एयरलाइन ने दिल्ली से लेह तक 13 टन कार्गो की आपूर्ति के साथ अपनी पहली मालवाहक उड़ान का संचालन किया। स्पाइसजेट की समर्पित कार्गो आर्म SpiceXpress इस मार्ग पर अपने बोइंग 737 फ्रीटर ( Boeing 737 freighter) को तैनात करेगी।
• समर्पित कार्गो उड़ानें ताजा फल, सब्जियां, फूल, पेरिशबल्स, फार्मास्यूटिकल्स, चिकित्सा उपकरण, और अन्य सामान्य कार्गो परिवहन में मदद करेंगी। लॉजिस्टिक और कनेक्टिविटी में सुधार के अलावा, नई मालवाहक सेवा यह सुनिश्चित करेगी कि इन सर्दियों के महीनों के दौरान तापमान और प्रतिकूल मौसम की स्थिति के कारण इन आवश्यक वस्तुओं का परिवहन अप्रभावित रहे।
• लॉन्च की गई नई उड़ानें मौसमी हैं और सर्दियों के महीनों के दौरान संचालित होंगी जब मौसम की स्थिति के कारण सतही परिवहन बाधित होता है। आवश्यक वस्तुओं के निर्बाध परिवहन को सुनिश्चित करने की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता के अनुरूप, स्पाइसजेट का उद्देश्य अपनी कार्गो सेवा के माध्यम से निर्बाध कनेक्टिविटी को सुचारू रखते हुए भौगोलिक चुनौतियों का समाधान करना है।

नितिन गडकरी ने उत्तर प्रदेश में किया 16 राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन

• केंद्रीय मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने उत्तर प्रदेश में 16 राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन और शिलान्यास किया। इन इंफ्रा परियोजनाओं की निर्माण लागत लगभग 7477 करोड़ रुपये आंकी गई है।
• इन राजमार्ग परियोजनाओं में 505 किलोमीटर की सड़क की लंबाई शामिल है और यह बेहतर कनेक्टिविटी, जनता को सुविधा प्रदान करने के साथ-साथ राज्य में आर्थिक विकास का मार्ग प्रशस्त करेगी। यूपी में दो लाख करोड़ रुपये के राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर काम जारी हैं।

 अयोध्या हवाई अड्डे का नाम बदलकर होगा मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम श्री राम हवाई अड्डा

• उत्तर प्रदेश मंत्रिमंडल ने अयोध्या हवाई अड्डे का नाम बदलकर मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम श्री राम हवाई अड्डा, अयोध्या, उत्तर प्रदेश रखने के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है। राज्य विधानसभा द्वारा पारित किए जाने के बाद उसी के लिए प्रस्ताव नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्रालय को भेजा जाएगा।
• उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री आदित्यनाथ ने नवंबर 2018 में दीपावली की पूर्व संध्या पर दीपोत्सव के अवसर पर घोषणा की थी कि अयोध्या में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय और घरेलू दोनों टर्मिनल होंगे और संभवतः यह यूपी के सबसे बड़े हवाई अड्डों में से एक हो सकता है।

 लद्दाख में लेह भारतीय वायु सेना स्टेशन पर सबसे बड़ी सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना पूरी

• केंद्रशासित प्रदेश लद्दाख में, लेह IAF स्टेशन पर केंद्र की 'मेक इन इंडिया' पहल के तहत स्थापित सबसे बड़ी सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना पूरी हो गई है, जो जीवाश्म ईंधन और ऊर्जा उत्पादन के पारंपरिक तरीकों के लिए स्थायी ऊर्जा विकल्प प्रदान करती है। इस परियोजना का नाम 'सोलर फोटो वोल्टाइक पॉवरप्लांट 1.5 मेगावाट का प्रावधान' ( 'Provision of Solar Photo Voltaic Powerplant 1.5 MW') है , इसे 31 मार्च, 2021 की समय सीमा पूरी होने से 12 महीने पहले ही पूरा कर लिया गया है।
• केंद्र शासित प्रदेश लद्दाख में पूरे लेह में एक बहुत ऊंचाई पर सबसे बड़ी सौर परियोजना IAF स्टेशन लेह में स्थापित की गई है।
• इस परियोजना की अवधारणा मेक इन इंडिया के तहत की गई थी, और इसे जीवाश्म ईंधन और पारंपरिक तरीकों के लिए स्थायी ऊर्जा विकल्प प्रदान करने के लिए निष्पादित किया गया था।
• यह केंद्रीय और नवीन ऊर्जा मंत्रालय द्वारा निर्धारित के रूप में रक्षा क्षेत्रों के लिए 300 मेगावाट और लेह क्षेत्र के लिए 14 मेगावाट के लक्ष्य के लिए अब तक की सबसे बड़ी स्थापित सौर परियोजना है।
• इस 122 करोड़ रुपये की लागत वाली परियोजना का उद्घाटन हाल ही में पश्चिमी वायु कमान के कमांडर-इन-चीफ एयर मार्शल वी आर चौधरी ने किया था।

विश्व बैंक के पूर्व अध्यक्ष जेम्स वोल्फेंसन का निधन

• ऑस्ट्रेलियाई-अमेरिकी वकील, इन्वेस्टमेंट बैंकर, और अर्थशास्त्री जेम्स वोल्फेंसन, जिन्होंने 10 साल तक विश्व बैंक के अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया, का निधन हो गया। उन्होंने 1995 से 2005 तक विश्व बैंक समूह के नौवें अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया था।
• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (IMF) के साथ मिलकर, वोल्फेंसन ने 1996 में एक कार्यक्रम Heavily Indebted Poor Countries Initiative देशों की पहल शुरू की,जिसने अंततः दुनिया के 27 सबसे गरीब देशों को ऋण राहत में $ 53 बिलियन से अधिक की राशि प्रदान की।

 भारतीय आईटी उद्योग के जनक FC कोहली का निधन

• टाटा कंसल्टेंसी सर्विसेज (TCS) के संस्थापक, फ़कीर चंद कोहली, जिन्हें भारतीय आईटी उद्योग के पिता( Father of the Indian IT industry) के रूप में जाना जाता है, का निधन हो गया है। संस्थापक होने के अलावा, वह टीसीएस के पहले सीईओ भी थे।
• कोहली ने टाटा पावर कंपनी के उप महाप्रबंधक के रूप में भी काम किया और पुणे के कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग के बोर्ड ऑफ गवर्नर्स के अध्यक्ष थे। टीसीएस के पहले सीईओ के रूप में, उन्होंने भारत की आईटी क्रांति का बीड़ा उठाया और देश को 190 बिलियन डॉलर के आईटी उद्योग के निर्माण में मदद की। स्वभाव से दूरदर्शी और अग्रणी, कोहली को भारत सरकार से पद्म भूषण से भी सम्मानित किया गया।

मर्सिडीज-बेंज ने HNI ग्राहकों को लुभाने के लिए मिलाये SBI से हाथ

• मर्सिडीज-बेंज (Mercedes-Benz ) ने भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (SBI) के साथ हाथ मिलाया है , इससे बैंक के हाई नेट वर्थ इंडिविजुअल (HNI) ग्राहकों को वित्तीय लाभ देने की पेशकश की जायेगी। यह सहयोग भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के हाई नेट वर्थ इंडिविजुअल (HNI) ग्राहक आधार के लिए लक्जरी ऑटोमोबाइल निर्माता एक्सेस प्रदान करेगा, जबकि बैंक के ग्राहक मर्सिडीज-बेंज कार की बुकिंग के समय विशेष लाभ का आनंद लेंगे। इसका उद्देश्य एसबीआई के साथ सहयोग से ग्राहक आधार का विस्तार करने और उत्पादों और सेवाओं के साथ बैंक के संभावित एचएनआई ग्राहकों तक पहुंचना है।
• इस सहयोग में पांच वर्ष तक के कार्यकाल वाले ऋणों पर ब्याज की 'आकर्षक' दर और कार्य शुल्क (processing fee) पर वित्तीय लाभ शामिल हैं।
• एसबीआई योनो प्लेटफॉर्म( SBI Yono platform) के माध्यम से मर्सिडीज-बेंज वाहन बुक करने वाले ग्राहकों के लिए 25,000 रुपये का अतिरिक्त लाभ भी है।
• वे पात्रता मानदंड को पूरा करने के बाद भी एसबीआई YONO के माध्यम से कार ऋण स्वीकृत करवा सकते हैं।
• ग्राहकों को लाभ प्राप्त करने के लिए मर्सिडीज-बेंज डीलरशिप पर ऑनलाइन बुकिंग की क्न्फ्फर्मेशन और एसबीआई ऋण स्वीकृति पत्र (SBI loan sanction letter) का उत्पादन करने की आवश्यकता है।

SpiceJet launches dedicated freighter services to Leh in Ladakh

• SpiceJet has launched dedicated freighter services connecting Leh with the rest of the country. This is the first time a civil airliner has started freighter services to Leh. Accordingly, the airline operated its first freighter flight from Delhi to Leh carrying 13 tonnes of cargo supplies. SpiceXpress, the dedicated cargo arm of SpiceJet, will deploy its Boeing 737 freighter on this route.
• The dedicated cargo flights will help transport fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, perishables, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and other general cargo. Besides improving logistics and connectivity, the new freighter service will ensure transportation of these essential commodities remains unaffected due to dipping temperatures and adverse weather conditions during these winter months.
• The new flights launched are seasonal and will operate during the winter months when surface transportation is disrupted owing to harsh weather conditions. In line with its commitment to ensuring seamless transportation of essential commodities, SpiceJet aims to address the geographical challenges while offering seamless connectivity through its cargo service.

 Nitin Gadkari inaugurates Highway projects in Uttar Pradesh

• Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 16 National Highway projects in Uttar Pradesh. The construction cost of these infra projects is estimated to be around Rs 7477 crore.
• These highway projects include a road length of 505 kilometres and will provide better connectivity, convenience to the public as well as lead to economic growth in the state. National Highways works worth two lakh crore rupees are being undertaken in UP.

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has cleared the proposal to rename the Ayodhya airport as Maryada

• Purushottam Sri Ram Airport, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The proposal for the same will be sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation after it is passed by the state Assembly.
• Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath had announced on the occasion of Deepotsav on Diwali eve in November 2018 that Ayodhya will have both international and domestic terminals and could potentially be one of the largest airports of UP.

 Ladakh gets largest solar project at Leh Indian Air Force station

• The Union Territory of Ladakh has got the largest solar power project set up under the Centre’s ‘Make In India’ initiative at Leh IAF station to provide sustainable energy alternative to fossil fuel and traditional methods of energy generation. The project namely ‘Provision of Solar Photo Voltaic Powerplant 1.5 MW’ has been completed within 12 months well before the completion deadline of March 31, 2021.
• The largest solar project at a high altitude in the entire Leh in the Union Territory of Ladakh has been established at IAF Station Leh.
• The project was conceptualised under Make In India, and executed to provide sustainable energy alternative to fossil fuel and traditional methods.
• It is the largest installed solar project till date out of the target of 300 MW in three phases for defence sectors and 14 MW for Leh region as set by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
• The project worth Rs 122 crore was recently inaugurated by Air Marshal V R Chaudhari, Commander-in-chief, Western Air Command. 

OBITUARY

Former World Bank President James Wolfensohn passes away

• Australian-American lawyer, investment banker, and economist James Wolfensohn, who served as the President of the World Bank for 10 years, passed away. He had served as the ninth president of the World Bank Group from 1995 to 2005.
• Together with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Wolfensohn launched the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries Initiative in 1996, a program that eventually provided more than $53 billion in debt relief to 27 of the world’s poorest countries.

 Father of Indian IT industry FC Kohli passes away

• Founder of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Faqir Chand Kohli, better known as the Father of the Indian IT industry, passed away. Besides being the founder, he was also the first CEO of TCS.
• Kohli also worked as the deputy general manager of Tata Power Company and was the Chairman of the Board of Governors of College of Engineering, Pune. As the first CEO of TCS, he pioneered India’s IT revolution and helped the country build the $190-billion IT industry. A visionary and pioneer by nature, he was a recipient of Padma Bhushan from the Government of India.

• Mercedes-Benz has joined hands with State Bank of India (SBI) to offer financial benefits to the lender’s High Net Worth Individual (HNI) customers. This collaboration will give the luxury automobile manufacturer access to State Bank of India’s High Net Worth Individual (HNI) customer base, while the bank’s customers will enjoy exclusive benefits at the time of booking a Mercedes-Benz car. The collaboration with SBI gives an exciting opportunity to expand our customer base and reach out to the potential HNI customers of the bank with products and services.
• This collaboration includes financial benefits like ‘attractive’ rate of interest on loans with tenure up to five years and offers on the processing fee.
• There is also an additional benefit of Rs 25,000 for customers booking a Mercedes-Benz vehicle via SBI Yono platform.
• They can even get a car loan sanctioned through SBI Yono after fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
• The customers need to produce online booking confirmation and SBI loan sanction letter at the Mercedes-Benz dealership to avail the benefits.
