भारत ने वर्ष 2021 में UN शांतिनिर्माण कोष के लिए की 150,000 डॉलर देने की घोषणा

• भारत ने इस वर्ष संयुक्त राष्ट्र शान्तिनिर्माण कोष (United Nations Peacebuilding Fund) की गतिविधियों और कार्यक्रमों में योगदान देने के लिए वर्ष 2021 में 150,000 अमेरिकी डालर देने का वादा किया है। पीसबिल्डिंग फंड ने अपनी पांच वर्ष की रणनीति को आगे बढ़ाया है, जिसके लिए वर्ष 2020-2024 के दौरान शान्तिनिर्माण कोष के लिये डेढ़ अरब (1.5 बिलियन) डॉलर की आवश्यकता होगी। इसकी घोषणा 25 जनवरी, 2021 को संयुक्त राष्ट्र में भारत के स्थायी प्रतिनिधि टीएस तिरुमूर्ति ने की।
• संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस ने कहा कि वह उन देशों के प्रति आभारी हैं जिन्होंने संयुक्त राष्ट्र के शांति स्थापना कोष के माध्यम से संयुक्त राष्ट्र के शांति और संघर्ष निवारण की दिशा में 439 मिलियन डॉलर से अधिक की सहायता प्रदान की है।

 TCS बना विश्व का तीसरा मोस्ट वैल्यूएबल आईटी सर्विस ब्रांड

• ब्रांड फाइनेंस की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, टाटा कंसल्टेंसी सर्विसेज (TCS) को Accenture और IBM के बाद वैश्विक स्तर पर तीसरे सबसे वैल्युएबल आईटी सेवा ब्रांड का स्थान मिला है। तीसरे स्थान पर काबिज TCS तेजी से आईबीएम के साथ अंतर को कम कर रही है, जो 11% ब्रांड वैल्यू बढ़कर 15 बिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर के बराबर है। एक्सेंचर 26 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर के रिकॉर्ड ब्रांड मूल्य के साथ दुनिया का मोस्ट वैल्यूएबल और सबसे मजबूत आईटी सर्विस ब्रांड का टाइटल बरकरार रखा, जबकि आईबीएम 16.1 बिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर के ब्रांड मूल्य के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर है।
• चार भारतीय आईटी सर्विस कंपनियों TCS (3), इंफोसिस (4), HCL (7) और विप्रो (9) ने विश्व की टॉप-10 कंपनियों में स्थान हासिल किया हैं। एक्सेंचर ने 26 बिलियन डॉलर के ब्रांड मूल्य के साथ दुनिया की सबसे मूल्यवान और सबसे मजबूत आईटी सेवा ब्रांड का खिताब बरकरार रखा है।

 CM शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने बालिका के लिए शुरू किया 'PANKH अभियान’

• मध्य प्रदेश में, मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने राष्ट्रीय बालिका दिवस के अवसर पर 24 जनवरी को एक नई योजना 'PANKH अभियान’ शुरू की है। इस योजना को बालिकाओं के सशक्तीकरण और विकास के लिए 'बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढाओ’ योजना के तहत शुरू किया गया है। सीएम ने लाडली लक्ष्मी योजना के तहत 26,099 लड़कियों के लिए 6.47 करोड़ रुपये की छात्रवृत्ति की भी घोषणा की।
• ‘PANKH अभियान' एक वर्षीय कार्यक्रम है। PANKH योजना का पूर्ण रूप है:

‘P’ – protection (सुरक्षा)

‘A’ – awareness of their rights (अपने अधिकारों के बारे में जागरूकता)

‘N’ – nutrition (पोषण)

‘K’ – knowledge (ज्ञान)

‘H’ – health (स्वास्थ्य)

 दो एक्सप्रेसवे पर हवाई पट्टी वाला देश का पहला राज्य बना उत्तर प्रदेश

• उत्तर प्रदेश में, पूर्वांचल एक्सप्रेस-वे पर कुरीभर के पास एक नई 3,300 मीटर लंबी हवाई पट्टी का निर्माण किया गया है। इस नई हवाई पट्टी के साथ, उत्तर प्रदेश एक्सप्रेसवे पर दो हवाई पट्टी वाला भारत का पहला राज्य बन गया है। उत्तर प्रदेश में लखनऊ-आगरा एक्सप्रेसवे पर भी एक हवाई पट्टी है। एक्सप्रेसवे पर हवाई पट्टी आपातकालीन लैंडिंग और लड़ाकू विमानों के टेक-ऑफ की सुविधा के लिए डिज़ाइन की गई हैं।
• इससे पहले, भारतीय वायु सेना ने यमुना एक्सप्रेसवे और आगरा एक्सप्रेसवे की जांच की थी. मिराज 2000, जगुआर, सुखोई 30 और सुपर हरक्यूलिस जैसे विमान पहले ही लखनऊ-आगरा एक्सप्रेसवे पर उतर चुके थे।
• उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार देश के पूरे उत्तरी भाग को एक्सप्रेसवे से जोड़ने का प्रयास कर रही है।
• भारतीय वायु सेना के हिंडन और आगरा एयरबेस, जरूरत पड़ने पर तीनों एक्सप्रेसवे के रनवे का उपयोग कर सकेंगे।
• साथ ही, उत्तर प्रदेश के ये हवाई पट्टी किसी भी युद्ध के मामले में चीन और पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ प्रतिक्रिया देने के लिए वायु सेना की सेवा कर सकते हैं।

 DRDO ने किया आकाश-एनजी मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण

• रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने ओडिशा के तट से इंटीग्रेटेड टेस्ट रेंज से आकाश एनजी (न्यू जेनरेशन) मिसाइल का सफल प्रक्षेपण किया। आकाश एनजी एक नई पीढ़ी का सरफेस-टू-एयर मिसाइल है जिसका उपयोग भारतीय वायुसेना द्वारा उच्च पैंतरेबाजी वाले हवाई खतरों को रोकने के उद्देश्य से किया जाता है। ट्रेजेक्टरी के दौरान उच्च युद्धाभ्यास करके सभी परीक्षण उद्देश्यों को पूरा किया।
• परीक्षण के दौरान मिसाइल के कमांड और कंट्रोल सिस्टम, ऑनबोर्ड एवियोनिक्स और एरोडायनामिक कॉन्फ़िगरेशन के प्रदर्शन को सफलतापूर्वक सत्यापित किया गया। सिस्टम के साथ एकीकरण की क्षमता के लिए मल्टी फंक्शन रडार का परीक्षण किया गया था। आकाश-एनजी प्रणाली को अन्य समान प्रणालियों की तुलना में बेहतर तैनाती के साथ विकसित किया गया है जो कि कैनिस्टराइज्ड लॉन्चर और बहुत छोटे ग्राउंड सिस्टम फुटप्रिंट के साथ है।

होलोकॉस्ट के पीड़ितों की याद में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस

• द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान हुए प्रलय की त्रासदी की वर्षगांठ के लिए 2006 से प्रतिवर्ष 27 जनवरी को होलोकॉस्ट के पीड़ितों की याद में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस (अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रलय स्मरण दिवस) मनाया जाता है। द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान एक नरसंहार हुआ था जिसमें नाजी जर्मनी ने अपने सहयोगियों के साथ मिलकर 1941 और 1945 के बीच यूरोप की यहूदी आबादी के दो तिहाई के आसपास, लगभग छह मिलियन यूरोपीय यहूदियों की व्यवस्थित हत्या कर दी थी।
• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रलय स्मरण दिवस 2021 के लिए विषय है “Facing the Aftermath: Recovery and Reconstitution after the Holocaust”.

भारत ने IEA के साथ रणनीतिक साझेदारी के समझौते पर किए हस्ताक्षर

• भारत ने 27 जनवरी 2021 को विश्व की प्रमुख ऊर्जा परिवीक्षक, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ऊर्जा एजेंसी (IEA) के साथ एक रणनीतिक साझेदारी समझौता किया है। समझौता ज्ञापन का उद्देश्य वैश्विक ऊर्जा सुरक्षा, स्थिरता और सततता में सहयोग को मजबूत करने के साथ-साथ IEA सदस्यों और भारत सरकार के बीच आपसी विश्वास और सहयोग को मजबूत करना है।
• ऊर्जा सचिव संजीव नंदन सहाय और IEA के कार्यकारी निदेशक फतिह बिरोल के बीच समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। यह समझौता भारत को IEA की पूर्ण सदस्यता हासिल करने में मदद करेगा।

राजेंद्र कुमार भंडारी ने जीता सुभाष बोस आपदा प्रबन्धन पुरस्कार 2021

• डॉ. राजेंद्र कुमार भंडारी को व्यक्तिगत श्रेणी में और सतत पर्यावरण और पारिस्थितिक विकास सोसाइटी (SEEDS) को संस्थागत श्रेणी में सुभाष चंद्र बोस आपदा प्रबंधन पुरस्कार 2021 से सम्मानित किया गया है। पुरस्कार में एक संस्थान के लिए 51 लाख रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार और एक प्रमाणपत्र है तथा एक व्यक्तिगत के लिए 5 लाख रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार और एक प्रमाणपत्र है।
• भारत सरकार, आपदा प्रबंधन के क्षेत्र में भारत में व्यक्तियों और संस्थाओं द्वारा प्रदान किए गए अमूल्य योगदान और निस्वार्थ सेवा को सम्मानित करने के लिए, नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस की जयंती, 23 जनवरी को प्रतिवर्ष पुरस्कार की घोषणा करती है।

 51 वें भारतीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव का समापन

• भारतीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव (IFFI) का 51 वां संस्करण 16 जनवरी से 24 जनवरी 2021 तक गोवा के पणजी के पास श्यामाप्रसाद स्टेडियम में आयोजित किया गया था। C-19 महामारी के कारण, यह महोत्सव हाइब्रिड मोड में आयोजित किया गया था, विभिन्न श्रेणियों में 224 फिल्मों में से 50 फिल्मों की भौतिक और वर्चुअल स्क्रीनिंग की गई थी। इस बार के 'कंट्री ऑफ़ फोकस' खंड के तौर पर बांग्लादेश को चुना गया। बांग्लादेश की चार फिल्मों को 'कंट्री ऑफ़ फोकस' खंड में शामिल किया गया था।

एचएसबीसी गुजरात में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बैंकिंग इकाई का उद्घाटन किया

• वैश्विक वित्तीय सेवाओं के प्रमुख HSBC ने गुजरात में गांधीनगर शहर के पास GIFT सिटी में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बैंकिंग इकाई (IBU) शाखा का उद्घाटन किया है। एचएसबीसी भारत के गिफ्ट सिटी में एक शाखा स्थापित करने वाले सबसे पहले वैश्विक वित्तीय संस्थानों में से एक है और नए स्थापित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वित्तीय सेवा केंद्र प्राधिकरण (IFSCA) से लाइसेंस प्राप्त करने वाला पहला बैंक था। गुजरात इंटरनेशनल फाइनेंस टेक-सिटी (GIFT सिटी) में HSBC की IBU शाखा 27 जनवरी से प्रभावी होने वाले ग्राहक लेनदेन के लिए चालू होगी।

India pledges $150,000 for UN Peacebuilding Fund for 2021

• India has announced a pledge of USD 150,000 to the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) for the year 2021 to support the activities and programs this year. The Peacebuilding Fund has put forth its five-year strategy, which requires 1.5 billion dollars for 2020-2024. This was announced by TS Tirumurti, India’s permanent representative to the United Nations on January 25, 2021.
• UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed that he was grateful to the countries that committed to providing over $439 million in support of the UN’s work toward peacebuilding & conflict prevention through the UN Peacebuilding Fund.

 TCS ranks third most valued IT services brand globally

• Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been ranked third most-valued IT services brand globally, after Accenture and IBM, according to a report by Brand Finance. Third-ranked TCS is rapidly closing the gap with IBM following a healthy 11% brand value increase to USD 15 billion. Accenture retained the title of world’s most valuable and strongest IT services brand with record brand value of USD 26 billion, while IBM continued at the second place with a brand value of USD 16.1 billion.
• Four Indian IT services companies have secured spots in the top-10 globally, namely, TCS (3), Infosys (4), HCL (7) and Wipro (9). Accenture has retained the title of world’s most valuable and strongest IT services brand with a brand value of $26 billion.

 CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan launches ‘PANKH Abhiyan’ for Girl Child

• In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched a new scheme ‘PANKH Abhiyan’ on 24 January, to mark the occasion of National Girl Child Day. The scheme has been launched under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme for the empowerment and growth of the girl child. The CM also announced scholarships worth Rs 6.47 crore for 26,099 girls under Ladli Laxmi Yojana.
• ‘PANKH Abhiyan’ is a year-long programme. The letter in the PANKH scheme stands for:

 UP becomes first Indian State to have 2 Expressway airstrips

• In Uttar Pradesh, a new 3,300-metre-long airstrip has been constructed near Kurebhar on Purvanchal Expressway. With this new airstrip, Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in India having two airstrips on expressways. Uttar Pradesh also has an airstrip on Lucknow-Agra Expressway. Airstrips on expressways are designed to facilitate emergency landing and take-off of fighter planes.
• Earlier, the Indian Air Force had examined Yamuna Expressway and Agra Expressway. Aircraft like Mirage 2000, Jaguar, Sukhoi 30 and Super Hercules had already landed on Lucknow-Agra Expressway.
• Uttar Pradesh government is trying to connect the entire northern part of the country with expressways.
• The Hindon and Agra airbases of the Indian Air Force will be able to use the runway of all three expressways if needed.
• Also, these airstrips of Uttar Pradesh can serve the Air Force to respond against China and Pakistan in case of any war.

DRDO successfully conducts maiden test launch of Akash-NG Missile

• The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted successful maiden launch of Akash-NG (New Generation) Missile from Integrated Test Range off the coast of Odisha. Akash-NG is a new generation Surface-to-Air Missile for use by Indian Air Force (IAF) with an aim of intercepting high manoeuvring aerial threats. The launch met all the test objectives by performing high maneuvers during the trajectory.
• The performance of the Command and Control system, onboard avionics and aerodynamic configuration of the missile was successfully validated during the trial. The Multi Function Radar was tested for its capability of integration with the system. The Akash-NG system has been developed with better deployability compared to other similar systems with canisterized launcher and much smaller ground system footprint.

International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust

• International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust (International Holocaust Remembrance Day) is observed on 27 January every year since 2006 to commemorate the anniversary of the tragedy of the Holocaust that occurred during the Second World War. A genocide occurred during World War II in which Nazi Germany, aided by its collaborators, systematically murdered some six million European Jews, around two-thirds of the Jewish population of Europe, between 1941 and 1945.
• The theme of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2021 is “Facing the Aftermath: Recovery and Reconstitution after the Holocaust”.

India Inks Strategic Partnership Agreement with IEA

• India has inked a strategic partnership agreement with the International Energy Agency (IEA), the world’s premier energy monitor, on 27 January 2021. The objective of the MoU is to strengthen cooperation in global energy security, stability and sustainability as well as strengthen mutual trust and cooperation between IEA members and the Government of India.
• The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Power Secretary Sanjiv Nandan Sahai and IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol. This deal will help India to gain full membership of IEA.

Rajendra Kumar Bhandari wins Subhash Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar 2021

• The Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar 2021 has been conferred upon Dr Rajendra Kumar Bhandari in the Individual category and Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS) in Institutional category. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 51 lakh and a certificate for an institution and Rs 5 lakh and a certificate in case of an individual.
• The Government of India announces the award every year on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, to recognise and honour the invaluable contribution and selfless service rendered by individuals and organisations in India in the field of disaster management.

 51st International Film Festival of India Concludes

• The 51st edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) was held from 16 January to 24 January 2021 at Shyamaprasad Stadium near Panaji in Goa. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was held in hybrid mode, there was the physical and virtual screening of 50 films out of 224 films across various categories. Bangladesh was a country of focus at the festival. Four films of Bangladesh was included in ‘country of focus’ section.

HSBC inaugurates international banking unit in Gujarat

• Global financial services major HSBC has inaugurated it’s International Banking Unit (IBU) branch at GIFT City near Gandhinagar city in Gujarat. HSBC is one of the earliest global financial institutions setting up a branch at India’s GIFT City and was the first bank to get a licence from the newly set up International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). HSBC’s IBU branch at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) will be operational for customer transactions with effect from January 27.
• HSBC has been present in the country for more than 160 years and its fourth branch globally was opened in India. HSBC operates in all of the leading international financial service hubs in the world and looks forward to the development of GIFT City as a globally competitive international financial centre.
