भारत ने $500 मिलियन ग्रेटर मेल कनेक्टिविटी प्रोजेक्ट के लिए मालदीव के साथ समझौता किया

• भारत और मालदीव की सरकार ने मेगा ग्रेटर मेल कनेक्टिविटी प्रोजेक्ट (GMCP) के लिए अनुबंध पर हस्ताक्षर किए। ग्रेटर मेल कनेक्टिविटी प्रोजेक्ट (GMCP) मालदीव में अब तक की सबसे बड़ी नागरिक बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजना है। भारत सरकार GMCP के कार्यान्वयन के लिए 400 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर की लाइन ऑफ क्रेडिट (LoC) और 100 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर के अनुदान के माध्यम से वित्त पोषण कर रही है। 400 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर का एलओसी (LoC) भारतीय निर्यात-आयात बैंक (एक्ज़िम बैंक) द्वारा प्रदान किया जाएगा।
• यह परियोजना मुंबई, महाराष्ट्र में स्थित भारतीय निर्माण और इंजीनियरिंग फर्म, AFCONS द्वारा विकसित की जाएगी। ग्रेटर मेल कनेक्टिविटी प्रोजेक्ट (जीएमसीपी) में 6.74 किमी लंबा पुल और सेतु लिंक शामिल है जो राष्ट्रीय राजधानी माले (Male) को तीन पड़ोसी द्वीपों अर्थात् विलिंग्ली, गुल्हिफाहू और थिलाफ़ुशी से जोड़ेगा।

नीति आयोग, सिस्को ने महिला उद्यमिता मंच के अगले चरण का शुभारंभ किया

• सिस्को और नीति आयोग ने साझेदारी के साथ भारत में महिला उद्यमिता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए "WEP Nxt" शीर्षक से महिला उद्यमिता मंच (WEP) का अगला चरण शुरू किया है। WEP, जिसे 2017 में NITI Aayog द्वारा लॉन्च किया गया था, अपनी तरह का पहला, एकीकृत पोर्टल है जो विविध पृष्ठभूमि की महिलाओं को एक साथ लाता है और उन्हें कई संसाधनों, सहायता और सीखने की सुविधा प्रदान करता है।
• WEPNxt प्लेटफॉर्म इस WEP का अगला चरण है और भारतीय महिला उद्यमियों के एक केंद्रित अध्ययन और छह प्रमुख कार्यक्षेत्रों - समुदाय और नेटवर्किंग, कौशल और सलाह, ऊष्मायन और त्वरण कार्यक्रम, और वित्तीय, अनुपालन, और विपणन सहायता में उनकी सबसे जरूरी जरूरतों के आधार पर साक्ष्य-आधारित निर्णय लेने से प्रेरित होगा।

चुनाव आयोग ने आगामी चुनावों के लिए राज्य स्वीप योजनाओं की समीक्षा के लिए 2 दिवसीय स्वीप परामर्श कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया

• भारत निर्वाचन आयोग (ईसीआई) ने व्यवस्थित मतदाता शिक्षा और चुनावी भागीदारी (स्वीप) परामर्श कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया। इस कार्यशाला के एक भाग के रूप में, मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त सुशील चंद्रा ने चुनाव आयुक्त राजीव कुमार के साथ एक नई पहल का अनावरण किया।
• दो दिवसीय कार्यशाला का मुख्य उद्देश्य राज्य स्वीप योजनाओं की समीक्षा करना, स्वीप के महत्वपूर्ण पहलुओं पर व्यापक विचार-विमर्श करना और भविष्य के चुनावों के लिए एक व्यापक रणनीति तैयार करना था।

यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन के सीए और पीओसी के लिए भारत का चुनाव उल्लेखनीय: विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर

• भारत ने कोट डिलवोइर (Côte d’Ivoire) के आबिदजान में 27वें यूपीयू कांग्रेस के दौरान यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन (UPU) के दो प्रमुख निकायों की सदस्यता के लिए चुनाव जीता है।भारत 156 देशों में से 134 मतों के साथ प्रशासन परिषद (CA) के लिए निर्वाचित हुआ। देश को दक्षिण एशिया और ओशिआनिया क्षेत्र से सीए चुनावों में सबसे ज्यादा वोट मिले।
• इसके अलावा भारत को पोस्टल ऑपरेशंस काउंसिल (POC) के लिए भी 106 वोटों से चुना गया है। यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन में सहयोग को मजबूत करने के लिए भारत अब सभी के साथ मिलकर काम करेगा।

 नियुक्ति एवं इस्‍तीफे

आरबीआई ने हितेंद्र दवे की एचएसबीसी इंडिया के सीईओ के रूप में नियुक्ति को तीन वर्ष के लिए मंजूरी दी

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने हितेंद्र दवे की HSBC बैंक (भारत) के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी के रूप में नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी है। आरबीआई ने 24 अगस्त, 2021 से तीन वर्ष की अवधि के लिए मंजूरी दी है। जून 2021 में, एचएसबीसी ने हितेंद्र दवे की एचएसबीसी इंडिया के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी के रूप में नियुक्ति की घोषणा की थी।
• दवे सुरेंद्र रोशा की जगह लेंगे, जो तीन वर्ष के बाद एचएसबीसी, एशिया-पैसिफिक के सह-मुख्य कार्यकारी के रूप में हांगकांग जा रहे हैं। हितेंद्र दवे, पूर्व में एचएसबीसी इंडिया के ग्लोबल बैंकिंग एंड मार्केट्स के प्रमुख थे।

नीति आयोग ने एनईआर जिला एसडीजी सूचकांक रिपोर्ट जारी की; पूर्वी सिक्किम चार्ट में सबसे ऊपर

• नीति आयोग और उत्तर पूर्वी क्षेत्र के विकास मंत्रालय ने यूएनडीपी के तकनीकी सहयोग से उत्तर पूर्वी क्षेत्र जिला एसडीजी इंडेक्स रिपोर्ट और डैशबोर्ड 2021-22 लॉन्च किया है। यह सूचकांक नीति आयोग के एसडीजी इंडिया इंडेक्स पर आधारित है।
• रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, सिक्किम का पूर्वी सिक्किम जिला पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र (NER) जिला एसडीजी सूचकांक 2021-22 में सबसे ऊपर है, जबकि नागालैंड के किफाइर जिले को रैंकिंग में 103 जिलों में अंतिम स्थान दिया गया है। रैंकिंग में गोमती, उत्तरी त्रिपुरा दूसरे, पश्चिम त्रिपुरा तीसरे स्थान पर है।
• सूचकांक सतत विकास लक्ष्यों पर अरुणाचल प्रदेश, असम, मणिपुर, मेघालय, मिजोरम, नागालैंड, सिक्किम और त्रिपुरा के आठ राज्यों के जिलों के प्रदर्शन को मापता है और उसी के आधार पर इन जिलों को रैंक करता है।एनईआर जिला एसडीजी इंडेक्स देश में अपनी तरह का पहला इंडेक्स है और यह उत्तर पूर्वी क्षेत्र पर केंद्रित है।

MANTHAN 2021: बीपीआरएंडडी और एआईसीटीई ने राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा पर भारत का पहला हैकथॉन लाने के लिए सहयोग किया

• पुलिस अनुसंधान और विकास ब्यूरो (BPR&D) ने अखिल भारतीय तकनीकी शिक्षा परिषद (AICTE) के सहयोग से 'मंथन 2021 (MANTHAN 2021)' नामक एक अद्वितीय राष्ट्रीय हैकथॉन शुरू किया है। हैकथॉन का मूल उद्देश्य देश की खुफिया एजेंसियों के सामने 21वीं सदी की सुरक्षा चुनौतियों का सामना करने के लिए नवीन अवधारणाओं और प्रौद्योगिकी समाधानों की पहचान करना और इन प्रवर्तन एजेंसियों को सशक्त बनाना है।
• हैकथॉन 28 नवंबर से 01 दिसंबर, 2021 तक ऑनलाइन मोड में आयोजित होने वाला है।
• विजेता टीम को 40 लाख रुपये की राशि मिलेगी।
• हैकथॉन नई तकनीकों जैसे आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस, डीप लर्निंग, ऑगमेंटेड रियलिटी, मशीन लर्निंग का उपयोग करते हुए 20 विभिन्न चुनौती बयानों के लिए 6 विषयों के तहत आयोजित किया जाएगा।

टेड डेक्सटर: इंग्लैंड और ससेक्स के पूर्व कप्तान का 86 वर्ष की आयु में निधन

• इंग्लैंड और ससेक्स के पूर्व कप्तान टेड डेक्सटर का निधन हो गया है। डेक्सटर, का उपनाम "लॉर्ड टेड", एक आक्रामक बल्लेबाज और अंशकालिक सीम गेंदबाज थे, जिन्होंने 1958 में न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ पदार्पण करने के बाद इंग्लैंड के लिए 62 टेस्ट खेले और 1961-1964 के बीच कप्तान थे।

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री के जे अल्फोन्स द्वारा 'एक्सेलरेटिंग इंडिया: 7 इयर्स ऑफ मोदी गवर्नमेंट' नामक एक पुस्तक प्राप्त हुई है।
• यह पुस्तक श्री अल्फोन्स द्वारा लिखित भारत की सुधार यात्रा के सभी क्षेत्रों के बारे में है। के जे अल्फोन्स पूर्व संस्कृति और पर्यटन राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) हैं, जो 3 सितंबर 2017 से मई 2019 तक कार्यालय में थे।

RBI ने टियर 1, 2 केंद्रों में PM SVANidhi के तहत आने वाले स्ट्रीट वेंडर्स के लिए PIDF योजना का विस्तार किया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने भुगतान अवसंरचना विकास कोष (PIDF) योजना के तहत लाभार्थियों के रूप में पीएम स्ट्रीट वेंडर की आत्मनिर्भर निधि (पीएम स्वनिधि योजना ) के हिस्से के रूप में पहचाने जाने वाले टियर -1 और टियर -2 केंद्रों के स्ट्रीट वेंडर्स को शामिल करने की घोषणा की है। पेमेंट्स इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर डेवलपमेंट फंड (PIDF) योजना आरबीआई द्वारा टियर -3 से टियर -6 केंद्रों और पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों में पॉइंट ऑफ सेल (PoS) इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर (भौतिक और डिजिटल दोनों मोड) की तैनाती को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए शुरू की गई थी।
• अब आरबीआई ने विशेष रूप से टियर-1 और टियर-2 केंद्रों के स्ट्रीट वेंडर्स को पीआईडीएफ योजना का हिस्सा बनने की अनुमति दी है। टियर-3 से टियर-6 केंद्रों के स्ट्रीट वेंडर्स को योजना के तहत डिफॉल्ट रूप से कवर किया जाता रहेगा। पीआईडीएफ के पास वर्तमान में रु. 345 करोड़ के कार्पस है।

India signs pact with Maldives for $500 million Greater Male Connectivity Project

• The Government of India and Maldives inked the contract for the mega Greater Male Connectivity project (GMCP). The Greater Male Connectivity project (GMCP) is the largest-ever civilian infrastructure project in the Maldives. The Government of India is funding the implementation of GMCP through a USD 400 million Line of Credit (LoC) and USD 100 million grant. The USD 400 million LoC will be provided by the Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank).
• The project will be developed by Indian construction and engineering firm, AFCONS, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Greater Male Connectivity Project (GMCP) comprise of 6.74 km long bridge and causeway link that will connect the national capital Male with three neighbouring islands namely: Villingili, Gulhifahu and Thilafushi.

Niti Aayog, Cisco launched next phase of Women Entrepreneurship Platform

• NITI Aayog in partnership with Cisco has launched the next phase of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) titled “WEP Nxt” to foster women entrepreneurship in India. WEP, which was launched by NITI Aayog in 2017, is a first-of-its-kind, unified portal that brings together women from diverse backgrounds and offers them access to a multitude of resources, support, and learning.
• WEPNxt Platform is the next phase of this WEP and will be driven by evidence-based decision-making based on a focused study of Indian women entrepreneurs and their most urgent needs across six key verticals – community and networking, skilling and mentorship, incubation and acceleration programs, and financial, compliance, and marketing assistance.

ECI organizes 2 day SVEEP Consultation Workshop to review State SVEEP Plans for forthcoming elections

• The Election Commission of India (ECI) organized the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Consultation Workshop. As a part of this workshop, the Chief Election Commissioner, Sushil Chandra along with Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar unveiled a new initiative.
• The main objective of the two-day workshop was to review State SVEEP Plans, conduct extensive deliberations on the important aspects of SVEEP and formulate a comprehensive strategy for future elections.

'India's Election To CA And POC Of Universal Postal Union Noteworthy': EAM S Jaishankar

• India has won the elections for membership of two key bodies of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), during the 27th UPU Congress in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. India got elected to the Council of Administration(CA) with 134 votes, out of 156 countries. The country received the highest votes in CA elections from South Asia and the Oceania region.
• Apart from this, India has also been elected to the Postal Operations Council (POC) with 106 votes. India will now work with all to strengthen cooperation in the Universal Postal Union.

RBI clears appointment of Hitendra Dave as HSBC India CEO for three years

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the appointment of Hitendra Dave as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HSBC Bank (India). RBI has accorded the approval for a period of three years with effect from August 24, 2021. In June 2021, HSBC had announced the appointment of Hitendra Dave as the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC India.
• Dave succeeds Surendra Rosha who, after three years, is moving to Hong Kong as the Co-Chief Executive of HSBC, Asia-Pacific. Hitendra Dave, formerly Head of Global Banking & Markets of HSBC India.

Niti Aayog releases NER District SDG Index report; East Sikkim tops chart

• NITI Aayog and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region have launched the North Eastern Region District SDG Index Report and Dashboard 2021–22, with technical support from UNDP. The index is based on NITI Aayog’s SDG India Index.
• According to the report, the East Sikkim district of Sikkim has topped the North Eastern Region (NER) District SDG Index 2021-22 while the Kiphire district of Nagaland was ranked last amongst 103 districts in the ranking. Gomati, North Tripura is second, West Tripura is third in the ranking.
• The Index measures the performance of the districts of the eight states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura on the Sustainable Development Goals and ranks these districts on the basis of the same. NER District SDG Index is the first of its kind in the country as it focuses on the North Eastern Region.

MANTHAN 2021: BPR&D & AICTE collaborate to bring India’s first hackathon on national security

• The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have launched a unique national Hackathon named ‘MANTHAN 2021’. The basic objective of this hackathon is to identify innovative concepts and technology solutions for addressing the security challenges of the 21st century faced by the intelligence agencies of the country and empower these enforcement agencies.
• The Hackathon is scheduled to be held from November 28 to December 01, 2021, in an online mode.
• The winning team will receive a number worth Rs. 40 Lakh.
• The Hackathon will be held under 6 themes for 20 different challenge statements using new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Augmented reality, Machine Learning among others.

Ted Dexter: Former England and Sussex captain dies aged 86

• Former England and Sussex captain Ted Dexter has passed away. Dexter, nicknamed “Lord Ted”, was an aggressive batsman and part-time seam bowler who played 62 tests for England after making his debut in 1958 against New Zealand and was captain between 1961-1964.
• After retiring, he helped devise a ranking system for Test players and was chairman of selectors for England. Dexter was also a regular on the BBC’s TV coverage of England home Test matches and was a newspaper columnist. The ranking system was adopted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and formed the basis of today’s system.

Book ‘Accelerating India: 7 Years of Modi Government’ written by Mr Alphons

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received a book titled ‘Accelerating India: 7 Years of Modi Government’ by former Union Minister, K J Alphons.
• The book is about all the areas of India’s reform journey, written by Mr Alphons. K J Alphons is the former Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge), in office from 3 September 2017 to May 2019.

RBI extends PIDF scheme to street vendors covered under PM SVANidhi in tier 1, 2 centres

• The Reserve Bank of India has announced to include street vendors of tier-1 and tier-2 centres, identified as part of the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi Scheme) as beneficiaries under the Payments Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) Scheme. Payments Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) Scheme was launched by RBI to encourage deployment of Points of Sale (PoS) infrastructure (both physical and digital modes) in tier-3 to tier-6 centres and northeastern states.
• So now RBI has specifically allowed street vendors of Tier-1 and Tier-2 centres, to be part of PIDF Scheme. The street vendors in tier-3 to tier-6 centres will continue to be covered under the Scheme by default. PIDF presently has a corpus of Rs. 345 crore.
