(MCI) के स्थान पर (NMC), देश में चिकित्सा शिक्षा और पेशे का शीर्ष नियामक

• मेडिकल काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया (MCI) के स्थान पर राष्ट्रीय चिकित्सा आयोग (NMC), क्योंकि देश में चिकित्सा शिक्षा और पेशे का शीर्ष नियामक अस्तित्व में है।
• एनएमसी के अस्तित्व में आने के बाद, बोर्ड ऑफ गवर्नर्स (BoG) ने अपने कार्य को करने के लिए 26 सितंबर, 2018 को MCI को अपदस्थ कर दिया, जिसे स्थगित कर दिया गया और लगभग 64 वर्षीय भारतीय चिकित्सा परिषद अधिनियम को समाप्त कर दिया गया।
• एनएमसी में एक अध्यक्ष, 10 पदेन सदस्य और 22 अंशकालिक सदस्य शामिल हैं।

सरकार ने देश में विद्युत गतिशीलता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 670 इलेक्ट्रिक बसों और 241 चार्जिंग स्टेशनों को मंजूरी दी

• सरकार ने देश में विद्युत गतिशीलता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 670 इलेक्ट्रिक बसों और 241 चार्जिंग स्टेशनों को मंजूरी दी है।
• मध्य प्रदेश, तमिलनाडु, केरल, गुजरात और पोर्ट ब्लेयर में फेम इंडिया स्कीम के द्वितीय चरण के तहत चार्जिंग स्टेशन महाराष्ट्र, गोवा, गुजरात और चंडीगढ़ राज्यों में स्वीकृत किए गए हैं।
• इस योजना के दूसरे चरण को पिछले साल से 10 हजार करोड़ रुपये के कुल बजटीय समर्थन के साथ लागू किया गया है।

NCAER ने भारत के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (GDP) को FY21 के लिए -12.6% और FY22 के लिए 7% अनुमानित की

• नेशनल काउंसिल ऑफ एप्लाइड इकोनॉमिक रिसर्च (NCAER) ने भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था के लिए सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) वृद्धि को 2020-21 (FY21) के लिए -12.6% अनुमानित किया है।
• 2021-22 के लिए, एनसीएईआर भारत की जीडीपी को 7% तक बढ़ने का अनुामान है।

एडीबी ने राजस्थान के माध्यमिक शहरों के लिए 2,200 करोड़ रुपये के ऋण को मंजूरी दी

• एशियाई विकास बैंक (ADB) ने राजस्थान के माध्यमिक शहरों में समावेशी जल आपूर्ति और स्वच्छता बुनियादी ढांचे और सेवाओं के वित्तपोषण के लिए 2,200 करोड़ रुपये (USD 300 मिलियन) के ऋण को मंजूरी दी है।
• यह परियोजना स्थानीय सरकारों और राजस्थान शहरी पेयजल, सीवरेज और इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड की संस्थागत क्षमता को मजबूत करेगी।

Microsoft ने वीडियो गेम कंपनी ZeniMax का अधिग्रहण किया

• Microsoft ने घोषणा की कि वह जानी-मानी वीडियो गेम प्रकाशक बेथेस्डा के स्वामित्व वाली कंपनी ZeniMax मीडिया को 7.5 अरब डॉलर नकद में खरीदेगा।
• सौदा माइक्रोसॉफ्ट को सफल गेम फ्रैंचाइजी के एक बेड़ा तक पहुंच प्रदान करता है, जिसमें फॉलआउट, द एल्डर स्क्रॉल और डूम शामिल हैं।
• कंपनी के 2014 में 2.5 बिलियन डॉलर में Minecraft डेवलपर Mojang को खरीदने के बाद, यह Microsoft के इतिहास में सबसे बड़ा गेमिंग अधिग्रहण है।

पद्मश्री पुरस्कार विजेता शेखर बसु का निधन

• अनुभवी परमाणु वैज्ञानिक और परमाणु ऊर्जा आयोग (AEC) के पूर्व अध्यक्ष शेखर बसु का निधन C-19 के कारण हुआ. उन्होंने भारत सरकार, परमाणु ऊर्जा विभाग (DAE) के सचिव और भाभा परमाणु अनुसंधान केंद्र (BARC) के निदेशक के रूप में कार्य किया। उनका जन्म 20 सितंबर, 1952 को मुजफ्फरपुर, बिहार में हुआ था।
• उन्होंने भारत की पहली परमाणु-संचालित पनडुब्बी, INS अरिहंत के लिए अत्यधिक जटिल रिएक्टर विकसित किया।
• वे तारापुर और कलपक्कम में परमाणु रीसायकल संयंत्रों के डिजाइन, निर्माण और संचालन के पीछे महत्वपूर्ण व्यक्ति थे।
• उन्होंने तमिलनाडु में भारतीय न्यूट्रिनो वेधशाला के विकास में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
• उन्होंने पद्मश्री (2014) प्राप्त किया था।
• उन्होंने अन्य में से इंडियन न्यूक्लियर सोसाइटी अवार्ड (2002), DAE ग्रुप अचीवमेंट अवार्ड (2006) और DAE स्पेशल अचीवमेंट अवार्ड (2007) प्राप्त किया।

वैश्विक जोखिम रिपोर्ट 2020 में भारत 89वें स्थान पर

• वैश्विक जोखिम सूचकांक (WRI) 2020 के अनुसार, 181 देशों के बीच भारत को 89 वें स्थान पर रखा गया है। WRI को संयुक्त राष्ट्र विश्वविद्यालय के पर्यावरण और मानव सुरक्षा संस्थान (UNUEHS) के सहयोग से विकसित किया गया है और इसकी गणना अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शान्ति कानून और सशस्त्र संघर्ष (IFHV) द्वारा की जाती है।
• अतिविषम आपदाओं से निपटने की क्षमता, अनुकूली क्षमताओं की कमी और अतिविषम घटनाओं से निपटने की तैयारियों के मामले में भारत, श्रीलंका, भूटान और मालदीव से पीछे है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, ग्लोबल हॉटस्पॉट, ओशिनिया, दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया, मध्य अमेरिका, पश्चिम और मध्य अफ्रीका में हैं।
• वैश्विक जोखिम सूचकांक भूकंप, तूफान, बाढ़, सूखा और समुद्री स्तर में वृद्धि जैसी आपदाओं के वैश्विक जोखिम के आकलन के लिए एक सांख्यिकीय मॉडल है।
• WRI, जर्मनी में स्टुटगार्ट विश्वविद्यालय के सहयोग से संयुक्त राष्ट्र विश्वविद्यालय पर्यावरण और मानव सुरक्षा (UNU-EHS) और बुंडनिस एंटविक्लुंग हिलफ़्ट द्वारा जारी "Forced Displacement and Migration" पर विशेष ध्यान देने के साथ वैश्विक जोखिम रिपोर्ट 2020 का हिस्सा है।

• विश्व पर्यटन दिवस 1980 के बाद से 27 सितंबर को दुनिया भर में मनाया जाता है।
• यह तारीख संयुक्त राष्ट्र के विश्व पर्यटन संगठन द्वारा चुनी गई थी क्योंकि 1970 में उस दिन, UNWTO के क़ानून को अपनाया गया था।
• 2020 में विश्व पर्यटन दिवस की थीम “पर्यटन और ग्रामीण विकास” है।

Country’s apex regulator of medical education ‘National Medical Commission’ comes into existence

• The National Medical Commission (NMC), in place of the Medical Council of India (MCI), as the country’s apex regulator of medical education and profession has come into existence.
• With the NMC coming into being, the Board of Governors (BoG) which superseded the MCI on September 26th, 2018, to perform its functions, has been dissolved and the nearly 64-year-old Indian Medical Council Act abolished.
• The NMC comprises a chairman, 10 ex-officio members and 22 part-time members

Govt sanctions 670 electric buses, 241 charging stations to boost electric mobility

• The government has sanctioned 670 electric buses and 241 charging stations to boost the electric mobility in the country.
• The buses have been sanctioned in the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and Chandigarh whereas charging stations in Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat and Port Blair under Phase-II of FAME India Scheme.
• The second phase of this scheme has been implemented from last year with a total budgetary support of 10 thousand crore rupees.

NCAER predicts India GDP for FY21 at -12.6%; For FY22 +7%

• The National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) has projected the GDP growth for the Indian economy at -12.6% For 2020-21 (FY21).
• For 2021-22, NCAER projects the GDP of India to grow by 7%.

ADB approves Rs 2,200 crore loan for secondary towns of Rajasthan

• Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan of Rs 2,200 crore (USD 300 million) to finance inclusive water supply and sanitation infrastructure and services in secondary towns of Rajasthan.
• The project will strengthen the institutional capacity of local governments and Rajasthan Urban Drinking Water, Sewerage, and Infrastructure Corporation Ltd.

Microsoft acquires video game company ZeniMax

• Microsoft announced that it will buy ZeniMax Media, the company that owns well-known video game publisher Bethesda, for $7.5 billion in cash.
• The deal gives Microsoft access to a raft of successful game franchises, including Fallout, The Elder Scrolls and Doom.
• It’s the biggest gaming acquisition in Microsoft’s history, after the company bought Minecraft developer Mojang for $2.5 billion in 2014

PadmaShri Awardee Sekhar Basu passes away

• Veteran Atomic Scientist and Former Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission(AEC), Sekhar Basu passed away due to C-19. He served as the Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and as director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).
• He developed the highly complex reactor for INS Arihant, India’s 1st nuclear-powered submarine.He was the key person behind the design, construction and operation of nuclear recycle plants in Tarapur and Kalpakkam.

Acer India appoints Sonu Sood as brand ambassador

• Personal computers brand Acer India has roped in actor Sonu Sood as its brand ambassador.
• The actor will endorse the brand’s innovative range of products to improving people’s lives through technology.
• The actor has been selected due to his contribution to empowering people which is in line with Acer India’s brand mantra of empowering people through technology.

India ranked 89th in World Risk Report 2020

• According to the World Risk Index (WRI) 2020, India has been ranked at the 89th spot among 181 Countries. WRI has been developed in cooperation with the United Nations University’s Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNUEHS) and calculated by the International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV).
• As per the World Risk Report 2020, India (6.62) was ‘poorly prepared’ to deal with ‘climate reality’, due to which it was more vulnerable to extreme natural disasters.
• The Pacific island state of Vanuatu leads the index as the country with the highest disaster risk (49.74).Qatar has the lowest risk (0.31).In terms of the continents, Oceania ranks first in terms of highest disaster risk, followed by the Americas, Asia and Europe.
