सरकार ने “विवाद से विश्वास” योजना के तहत भुगतान करने की समय सीमा 30 जून 2021 तक बढ़ाई

• केंद्र सरकार ने C-19 महामारी के कारण कठिनाई का सामना कर रहे करदाताओं को राहत देने के लिए डायरेक्ट टैक्स विवाद निपटान योजना 'विवाद से विश्वास' के तहत भुगतान करने की समय सीमा को दो महीने बढ़ाकर 30 जून, 2021 तक करने की घोषणा की है। इस योजना की शुरुआत के बाद से यह चौथा मौका जब वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा समय सीमा बढ़ाई जा रही है। पहली बार समय सीमा 31 मार्च, 2020 से बढ़ाकर 30 जून, 2020, इसके बाद 31 दिसंबर, 2020 और फिर 31 मार्च, 2021 तक की गई थी।
• 'विवाद से विश्वास' योजना की घोषणा केंद्रीय बजट 2020 में की गई थी, जिसके अनुसार किसी भी करदाता को केवल विवादित करों की राशि का भुगतान करना होगा और यदि वे वह 31 मार्च 2020 तक का भुगतान करते है तो उन्हें ब्याज और जुर्माने में पूरी छूट मिलेगी।

पंचायती राज दिवस: पीएम मोदी ने “SVAMITVA योजना” के विस्तार के तहत ई-संपत्ति कार्ड के वितरण की शुरुआत की

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 24 अप्रैल 2021 को राष्ट्रीय पंचायती राज दिवस के अवसर पर वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से स्वामित्व योजना के तहत ई-संपत्ति कार्ड के वितरण की शुरुआत की। SVAMITVA का पूर्ण रूप-Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas है। यह कार्यक्रम देश भर में SVAMITVA योजना के कार्यान्वयन के रोलआउट को चिह्नित करने के लिए किया गया। आयोजन के दौरान 5 हजार से अधिक गांवों में, लगभग 4.09 लाख संपत्ति मालिकों को उनके ई-संपत्ति कार्ड दिए गए।
• सामाजिक-आर्थिक रूप से सशक्त और आत्मनिर्भर ग्रामीण भारत को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 24 अप्रैल 2020 को प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा स्वामित्व योजना को केंद्रीय योजना के रूप में शुरू किया गया था।
• इसे 6 राज्यों, महाराष्ट्र, कर्नाटक, हरियाणा, उत्तर प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड, मध्य प्रदेश में पायलट आधार पर लॉन्च किया गया।

भारतीय नौसेना एक इंडोनेशियाई पनडुब्बी के लिए बचाव अभियान में शामिल हुई

• भारतीय नौसेना एक इंडोनेशियाई पनडुब्बी और उसके 53-व्यक्ति चालक दल के लिए बचाव अभियान में शामिल हो गई है जो 4 दिन पहले लापता हो गई थी।
• इंडोनेशिया ने अपनी 44 वर्षीय पनडुब्बी केआरआई नंगला -402 के लापता होने के बाद भारत से सहायता मांगी थी, बाली द्वीप के उत्तर में एक टारपीडो ड्रिल आयोजित करते समय लापता हो गया। नौसेना का दीप-जलमग्नता बचाव पोत (DSVR) विशाखापत्तनम से चला गया।

जस्टिस एम शांतनगौदर का निधन

• सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जज जस्टिस मोहन एम शांतनागौदर का निधन हो गया। जस्टिस शांतनागौदर को 17 फरवरी, 2017 को सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश के रूप में पदोन्नत किया गया था। उनका कार्यकाल 5 मई 2023 तक का था।
• शांतनागौदर का जन्म 5 मई 1958 को कर्नाटक में हुआ था और उन्होंने 5 सितंबर, 1980 को एक वकील के रूप में प्रैक्टिस शुरू की थी। उन्हें 12 मई, 2003 को कर्नाटक उच्च न्यायालय के अतिरिक्त न्यायाधीश के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया और सितंबर 2004 में वे अदालत में स्थायी न्यायाधीश बन गए। बाद में, न्यायमूर्ति शांतनगौदर को केरल उच्च न्यायालय में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया, जहाँ उन्होंने 1 अगस्त, 2016 को कार्यवाहक मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला। वह सुप्रीम कोर्ट के न्यायाधीश के रूप में पदोन्नत होने से पहले 22 सितंबर, 2016 को केरल उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश बने थे।

 वयोवृद्ध वैज्ञानिक कृष्णमूर्ति संथानम का निधन

• पोखरण में 1998 के परमाणु परीक्षणों में उल्लेखनीय भूमिका निभाने वाले भारतीय परमाणु वैज्ञानिक कृष्णमूर्ति संथानम का निधन हो गया है। वह रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO), परमाणु ऊर्जा विभाग (DAE) और रक्षा अध्ययन और विश्लेषण संस्थान (IDSA) के साथ गहराई से जुड़े थे।
• संथानम पोखरण- II के परीक्षणों के दौरान रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन के क्षेत्र निदेशक थे। उन्हें 1999 में भारत सरकार द्वारा तीसरे सर्वोच्च नागरिक पुरस्कार पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था।

 हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय गायक पंडित राजन मिश्रा का निधन

• भारत में 'बनारस घराने' के प्रसिद्ध हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय गायक, पंडित राजन मिश्रा का निधन हो गया। वह भारतीय शास्त्रीय गायन की ख्याल शैली में गायक थे।
• मिश्रा को 2007 में कला के क्षेत्र में पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था। पंडित राजन मिश्रा को संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार, गंधर्व राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार और राष्ट्रीय तानसेन सम्मान से भी सम्मानित किया जा चुका हैं।

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय चेरनोबिल आपदा स्मरण दिवस: 26 अप्रैल 2021

• प्रतिवर्ष 26 अप्रैल को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर 1986 के चेरनोबिल आपदा के परिणामों और परमाणु ऊर्जा के खतरों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय चेरनोबिल आपदा स्मृति दिवस मनाया जाता है।
• संयुक्त राष्ट्र (UN) ने 26 अप्रैल, 2016 को इस दिन को घोषित किया था, जो 1986 की परमाणु आपदा की 30 वीं वर्षगांठ थी। इस दिन 1986 में, एक रिएक्टर विनाशकारी परिणामों के साथ यूक्रेन में चेरनोबिल परमाणु ऊर्जा संयंत्र में विस्फोट हो गया था।

राष्ट्रीय पंचायत पुरस्कार 2021 पीएम मोदी द्वारा प्रदान किया गया

• पीएम मोदी ने वर्चुली राष्ट्रीय पंचायत पुरस्कार 2021 प्रदान किए। प्रधान मंत्री ने बटन क्लिक करके पुरस्कार विजेताओं को 5 लाख रु से 50 लाख रु तक की राशि (अनुदान के रूप में) हस्तांतरण की। यह राशि वास्तविक समय में संबंधित पंचायतों के बैंक खाते में सीधे हस्तांतरित की जाएगी। ऐसा पहली बार किया जा रहा है।

राष्ट्रीय पंचायती पुरस्कार 2021 की श्रेणियों:

• दीन दयाल उपाध्याय पंचायत शक्तिकरण पुरस्कर, 224 पंचायतें को,
• नानाजी देशमुख राष्ट्रीय गौरव ग्राम सभा पुरस्कार, 30 ग्राम पंचायत और ग्राम को
• पंचायत विकास योजना पुरस्कार, 29-ग्राम पंचायतों और बाल-सुलभ ग्राम को
• 30 राज्यों को पंचायत पुरस्कार और 12 राज्यों को ई-पंचायत पुरस्कार.

 लॉस एंजिल्स में 93 वें अकादमी पुरस्कार 2021 की घोषणा

• लॉस एंजिल्स में 93 वां अकादमी पुरस्कार समारोह, जिसे ऑस्कर पुरस्कार के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, का आयोजन 25 अप्रैल 2021 को किया गया। यह पुरस्कार अकैडमी ऑफ मोशन पिक्चर आर्ट्स एंड साइंसेज (AMPAS) द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष प्रदान किया जाता है। 2021 ऑस्कर में 2020 की सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्मों और 2021 की शुरुआत की फिल्मों को आवर्ड दिया गया।
• अमेरिकी ड्रामा ‘Nomadland’ ने सबसे ज्यादा तीन पुरस्कार जीते। क्लो झाओ (Chloe Zhao), जिन्होंने "नोमैडलैंड" का निर्देशन किया था, को सर्वश्रेष्ठ निर्देशक का पुरस्कार किया गया, जिसके साथ वह इस खिताब को हासिल करने वाली एकमात्र दूसरी महिला और इस पुरस्कार को जीतने वाली पहली एशियाई महिला बन गई हैं। भारतीय फिल्म हस्तियों इरफान खान और भानु अथैया को इस कार्यक्रम में प्रदर्शित “In Memoriam” में सम्मानित किया गया।

अपर्याप्त पूंजी के कारण आरबीआई ने भाग्योदय फ्रेंड्स अर्बन को-ऑपरेटिव बैंक लिमिटेड का लाइसेंस रद्द किया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने अपर्याप्त पूंजी के कारण महाराष्ट्र स्थित भाग्योदय फ्रेंड्स अर्बन को-ऑपरेटिव बैंक लिमिटेड का लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिया है। परिसमापन पर, प्रत्येक जमाकर्ता DICGC अधिनियम, 1961 के प्रावधानों के अधीन DICGC से 5 लाख रुपये की मौद्रिक सीमा तक जमा राशि का दावा बीमा दावा प्राप्त करने का हकदार है।
• नियामक के अनुसार, बैंक अपनी मौजूदा वित्तीय स्थिति के कारण अपने वर्तमान जमाकर्ताओं का पूर्ण रूप से भुगतान करने में असमर्थ हैं और यदि बैंक को अपने बैंकिंग व्यवसाय को आगे बढ़ाने की अनुमति दी जाती है तो सार्वजनिक हित पूर्ण रूप से प्रभावित होंगे। बैंक जरुरी मानको का पालन करने में विफल रहा है और बैंक की निरंतरता उसके जमाकर्ताओं के हितों के लिए पूर्वाग्रहपूर्ण है।

Government Extended Deadline for making payment under ‘Vivad se Vishwas’ scheme till 30 June 2021

• The government has once again extended the deadline for making payment under the direct tax dispute settlement scheme ‘Vivad Se Vishwas’ by two months till June 30, 2021 to provide relief to the taxpayers facing hardships amid the pandemic. This is the fourth time that the deadline is being extended by the Ministry of Finance, since the launch of the scheme. The deadline was extended for the first time from March 31, 2020, to June 30, 2020, followed by December 31, 2020, and then again till March 31, 2021.
• The ‘Vivad Se Vishwas’ scheme was announced in the Union Budget 2020, as per which a taxpayer would be required to pay only the amount of the disputed taxes and will get a complete waiver of interest and penalty provided he pays by 31st March 2020.

Panchayati Raj Day: PM Modi Launched the distribution of e-property cards under the Extension of ‘SVAMITVA scheme’ Across India

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the distribution of e-property cards under the SVAMITVA scheme on National Panchayati Raj Day on April 24, 2021, through video conferencing. SVAMITVA stands for Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas. The launch marked the rollout of the implementation of the SVAMITVA scheme across the entire country. About 4.09 lakh property owners were given their e-property cards during the event, in more than 5 thousand villages.
• The Svamitva Scheme was launched by Prime Minister on 24 April 2020 as a Central Sector Scheme to promote a socio-economically empowered and self-reliant rural India.
• It was launched on pilot basis in the 6 states, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh.

Indian Navy has joined the rescue operation for an Indonesian submarine

• The Indian Navy has joined the rescue operation for an Indonesian submarine and its 53-person crew that went missing more than 4 days ago.
• Indonesia had sought assistance from India after its 44-year-old submarine, KRI Nanggala-402, went missing while conducting a torpedo drill north of the island of Bali. The Navy’s Deep-Submergence Rescue Vessel (DSVR) left from Visakhapatnam.

 OBITUARY

Justice M Shantanagoudar passed away

• Supreme Court judge Justice Mohan M Shantanagoudar passed away. Justice Shantanagoudar was elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court on February 17, 2017. He would have remained in office till May 5, 2023.
• Shantanagoudar was born on May 5, 1958, in Karnataka and got himself enrolled as an advocate on September 5, 1980. He was appointed as an additional judge of the Karnataka High Court on May 12, 2003, and became a permanent judge in the court in September 2004. Later, Justice Shantanagoudar was transferred to the Kerala High Court, where he assumed charge as the acting chief justice on August 1, 2016. He became the chief justice of the Kerala High Court on September 22, 2016, before being elevated as an apex court judge.

 Veteran Scientist Krishnamurthy Santhanam Passed away

• Indian nuclear scientist Krishnamurthy Santhanam, who played a noteworthy role in the 1998 nuclear tests at Pokhran, has passed away. He was deeply associated with Defence Research and Development Organization(DRDO), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA).
• Santhanam was the field director of Defence Research and Development Organization during the tests of Pokhran-II. He was awarded with the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award, in 1999 by the Government of India.

 Hindustani classical singer Pandit Rajan Mishra Passed Away

• Renowned Hindustani classical singer, from ‘Banaras Gharana’ of India, Pandit Rajan Mishra, has passed away. He was a vocalist in the khyal style of Indian classical singing.
• Mishra was awarded Padma Bhushan in the field of art in 2007. Pandit Rajan Mishra was also a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, the Gandharwa National Award and the National Tansen Samman.

International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day is observed every year on April 26

• The International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day is observed every year on April 26 to raise awareness of the consequences of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster and the risks of nuclear energy in general.
• The United Nations (UN) proclaimed the day on April 26, 2016, that marked the 30th anniversary of the 1986 nuclear disaster. On this day in 1986, a reactor exploded at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine with devastating consequences.

National Panchayat Awards 2021 conferred by PM Modi

• The National Panchayat Awards 2021 was conferred by PM Modi. Prime Minister will transfer the award money (as Grants-in-Aid) through the click of a button, ranging from Rs.5 lakh to Rs.50 lakh. The amount will be directly transferred to the bank account of the Panchayats concerned in real-time. This is being done for the first time.

The National Panchayat Awards 2021:

• Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar to 224 panchayats,
• Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar to 30-gram panchayats, Gram

 93rd Academy Awards 2021 announced in Los Angeles

• The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, also known as the Oscars Award, took place in Los Angeles on April 25, 2021. The award is presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). 2021 Oscars honoured the best films of 2020 and early 2021.
• American drama ‘Nomadland’ won most honours with three awards. Chloe Zhao, who directed “Nomadland”, was crowned best director, and with this, she became the only second woman to claim the title and the first woman of colour to win that award. Indian film personalities Irrfan Khan and Bhanu Athaiya were honoured in the “In Memoriam” montage showcased at the event.

RBI cancelled licence of Bhagyodaya Friends Urban Co-operative Bank Limited due to inadequate capital

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the licence of Maharashtra-based Bhagyodaya Friends Urban Co-operative Bank Limited due to inadequate capital. On liquidation, every depositor is entitled to receive deposit insurance claim amount of his/her deposits up to a monetary ceiling of Rs 5 lakhs from the DICGC subject to the provisions of the DICGC Act, 1961.
• According to the regulator, the bank with its present financial position would be unable to pay its present depositors in the full and public interest would be adversely affected if the bank is allowed to carry on its banking business any further. The bank has failed to comply with the requirements and the continuance of the bank is prejudicial to the interests of its depositors.
