मंगोलियाई प्रधानमंत्री खुरलसुख उखना और उनकी सरकार का इस्तीफा

• मंगोलिया के प्रधान मंत्री, खुरलसुख उखना, ने C-19 महामारी से निपटने के लिए सरकार के विरोध और विरोध प्रदर्शन के बाद अपनी पूरी सरकार के साथ इस्तीफा दे दिया है। 52 वर्षीय ने 4 अक्टूबर 2017 से 21 जनवरी 2021 तक मंगोलिया के प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया।
• प्रधान मंत्री खुरलसुख उखना ने अपना इस्तीफा और नीतियों के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन करने के लिए संसद भवन के बाहर सैकड़ों इकट्ठा होने के बाद अपनी सरकार को भंग करने का प्रस्ताव प्रस्तुत किया है।

डिमोन को एक प्रमुख अमेरिकी बैंक के सर्वश्रेष्ठ-भुगतान वाले सीईओ के रूप में चुना गया

• मॉर्गन स्टेनली के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी जेम्स गोर्मन ने जेपी मॉर्गन चेज़ एंड कंपनी के जेमी डिमोन को एक प्रमुख अमेरिकी बैंक के सर्वश्रेष्ठ-भुगतान वाले सीईओ के रूप में चुना है।
• मॉर्गन स्टेनली ने 2020 के लिए गोर्मन के वेतन को 22% बढ़ाकर $ 33 मिलियन कर दिया, जब वॉल स्ट्रीट बैंक ने लगातार तीसरे वर्ष रिकॉर्ड कमाई की। उनके वेतन में $ 1.5 मिलियन और $ 7.88 मिलियन बोनस शामिल हैं।

बजट 2021: वित्त मंत्री ने केंद्रीय बजट मोबाइल ऐप लॉन्च किया

• हलवा समारोह 2021 के अवसर पर, बजट 2021-22 के अंतिम चरण को चिह्नित करते हुए, वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने त्वरित, आसान और परेशानी मुक्त पहुंच के लिए शनिवार, 23 जनवरी को 'केंद्रीय बजट मोबाइल ऐप' लॉन्च किया। संसद के सदस्यों के साथ-साथ आम जनता के लिए आधिकारिक बजट दस्तावेज, C-19 महामारी के कारण, इस वर्ष का बजट स्वतंत्र भारत के इतिहास में पहली बार पेपरलेस होगा।
• चूंकि बजट के कागजात मुद्रित नहीं किए जाएंगे, वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा आगामी केंद्रीय बजट 2021-22 में सभी बजट दस्तावेजों तक पूरी पहुंच के लिए आधिकारिक मोबाइल ऐप लॉन्च किया गया है।

महाराष्ट्र सरकार आर-दिवस पर यरवदा जेल में जेल पर्यटन शुरू करने वाला पहला राज्‍य

• महाराष्ट्र सरकार 26 जनवरी को गणतंत्र दिवस से पहले चरण में पुणे की 150 वर्षीय यरवदा जेल के साथ राज्य में "जेल पर्यटन" शुरू कर रही है।
• शनिवार को एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए, राज्य के गृह मंत्री अनिल देशमुख ने कहा, “प्रसिद्ध यरवडा जेल में ऐसी कोशिकाएँ हैं जहाँ भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के कई दिग्गज जेल में बंद थे। उनमें महात्मा गांधी, लोकमान्य तिलक, पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू, सरदार पटेल, सरोजिनी नायडू और मोतीलाल नेहरू शामिल हैं। इसके नीचे एक पेड़ भी है, जिस पर महात्मा गांधी और बाबासाहेब अंबेडकर द्वारा पूना पैक्ट पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए थे। इसी तरह, यह वही जेल है जहाँ (क्रांतिकारियों) चाफेकर बंधुओं को फांसी पर लटका दिया गया था। यहां फांसी देने के लिए जनरल वीके वैद्य और (पाकिस्तानी आतंकवादी) अजमल कसाब के हत्यारे सुक्खा और जिंदा भी थे। राज्य सरकार ने 26 जनवरी को यरवदा जेल से जेल पर्यटन शुरू करने का फैसला किया है, ताकि लोगों को जगह देखने की अनुमति दी जा सके। ” "महाराष्ट्र ऐसा करने वाला देश का पहला राज्य है।

वयोवृद्ध नौकरशाह, कवि और हैदराबाद के इतिहासकार नरेंद्र लूथर का निधन

• प्रख्यात इतिहासकार, लेखक, कवि और सेवानिवृत्त नौकरशाह नरेंद्र लूथर का निधन हो गया। 1955 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी, लूथर पूर्ववर्ती हैदराबाद राज्य और उसके शासकों के इतिहास और संस्कृति से निकटता से जुड़े थे।
• उन्होंने 1991 में अविभाजित आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्य सचिव के रूप में सेवानिवृत्त होने से पहले विभिन्न पदों पर काम किया था। उन्होंने हैदराबाद के इतिहास, विरासत और वास्तुकला पर कई पुस्तकें लिखी हैं।

 जाने-माने अमेरिकी टॉक-शो होस्ट लैरी किंग का निधन

• प्रतिष्ठित अमेरिकी रेडियो और टेलीविजन होस्ट, और पेड प्रवक्ता लैरी किंग का निधन। वह 1978 में द लैरी किंग शो के रेडियो होस्ट से प्रसिद्धि हुए और फिर 1985 से 2010 तक लगभग 25 वर्षों तक CNN पर Larry King Live शॉ को होस्ट किया।
• किंग ने छह दशकों से अधिक के करियर के दौरान CNN और अन्य समाचार आउटलेट्स के लिए हजारों विश्व नेताओं, राजनेताओं, मनोरंजनकर्ताओं, एथलीटों और रोजमर्रा के लोगों का इन्टरव्यू किया।

25 जनवरी को राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस मनाया गया

• भारत प्रतिवर्ष 25 जनवरी को "राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस" मनाया जाता है ताकि अधिक युवा मतदाताओं को राजनीतिक प्रक्रिया में भाग लेने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जा सके। 2021, 11 वें राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस (एनवीडी) को चिह्नित करता है।
• एनवीडी 2021 का विषय है, मेकिंग अवर वोटर्स एम्पावर्ड, विजिलेंट, सेफ एंड इंफॉर्मेटेड’ (‘Making Our Voters Empowered, Vigilant, Safe and Informed’)। भारत निर्वाचन आयोग (ईसीआई) के स्थापना दिवस को चिह्नित करने के लिए दिन की शुरुआत 25 जनवरी 2011 से की गई है, जिसे 25 जनवरी 1950 को स्थापित किया गया था।

 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा दिवस: 24 जनवरी

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने शांति और विकास के लिए शिक्षा की भूमिका के उपलक्ष्य में 24 जनवरी को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा दिवस के रूप में घोषित किया। शिक्षा में विकास में शिक्षा की भूमिका का जश्न मनाने के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा 3 दिसंबर 2018 को पारित प्रस्ताव के अनुसार 24 जनवरी 2019 को पहली बार शिक्षा दिवस मनाया गया।
• शिक्षा के तीसरे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस को ‘C-19 पीढ़ी के लिए पुनर्प्राप्ति और पुनरोद्धार शिक्षा’ विषय के तहत चिह्नित किया जाएगा।

 राष्ट्रीय बालिका दिवस: 24 जनवरी

• भारत में, प्रतिवर्ष 24 जनवरी को राष्ट्रीय बालिका दिवस (National Girl Child Day) के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन का उद्देश्य बालिकाओं की शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और पोषण को बढ़ावा देना और उनके अधिकारों के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाना है। इस दिन को वर्ष 2008 में पहली बार महिला और बाल विकास मंत्रालय और भारत सरकार द्वारा एक पहल के रूप में मनाया गया था।
• देश में लड़कियों के साथ होने वाले सभी भेद-भाव के बारे में लोगों में जागरूकता फैलाना।

टाटा पावर सोलर सिस्टम्स लिमिटेड की पूर्ण स्वामित्व वाली सहायक कंपनी को एनटीपीसी से 1,200 करोड़ रुपये का ऑर्डर मिला

• टाटा पावर सोलर सिस्टम्स लिमिटेड की पूर्ण स्वामित्व वाली सहायक कंपनी, टाटा पावर की होली की स्वामित्व वाली सहायक कंपनी ने शनिवार को घोषणा की कि उसे राज्य द्वारा संचालित बिजली कंपनी एनटीपीसी से 1,200 करोड़ रुपये का ऑर्डर मिला है।
• कंपनी ने आधिकारिक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार NTPC के लिए 320MW के ग्राउंड माउंटेड सोलर PV प्रोजेक्ट के निर्माण के लिए लेटर ऑफ अवार्ड (LoA) प्राप्त किया है।
• परियोजना का ऑर्डर मूल्य लगभग 1,200 करोड़ ($ 162 मिलियन) है।
• परियोजना के लिए वाणिज्यिक परिचालन की तारीख मई 2022 के लिए निर्धारित की गई है।
• टाटा पावर सोलर की ऑर्डर पाइपलाइन अब लगभग नवीनतम 12,000 करोड़ के मूल्य के लगभग 4 जीडब्ल्यूपी के बराबर है।

Mongolian Prime Minister Khurelsukh Ukhnaa & his Government Resigns

• The Prime Minister of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, has resigned along with his entire government, following protests and public outrage over the government’s handling of the C-19 pandemic. The 52-year-old served as the Prime Minister of Mongolia from 4 October 2017 to 21 January 2021.
• Prime Minister Khurelsukh Ukhnaa has submitted his resignation and a proposal to dissolve his government after hundreds gathered outside the parliament building to demonstrate against the policies. Parliament, which is controlled by Khurelsukh’s Mongolian People’s Party, voted overwhelmingly to accept his resignation.

 Morgan Stanley’s Gorman Tops Dimon as Best-Paid Big Bank CEO

• Morgan Stanley Chief Executive Officer James Gorman leaped past JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Jamie Dimon as the best-paid CEO of a major U.S. bank.
• Morgan Stanley boosted Gorman’s pay 22% to $33 million for 2020, when the Wall Street bank posted its third consecutive year of record earnings. His pay includes $1.5 million in salary and a $7.88 million bonus, the firm said Friday in a filing. The vast majority is in the form of $23.6 million in long-term awards, which pay out in shares and are partially tied to return on equity and shareholder-return targets.

Budget 2021: Finance minister launches Union Budget mobile app

• On the occasion of the Halwa Ceremony 2021, marking the final stage of Budget 2021-22, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched the 'Union Budget Mobile App' on Saturday, January 23, for quick, easy, and hassle-free access of the official Budget documents for the members of the parliaments as well as the general public. Due to the C-19 pandemic, the budget this year will be paperless for the first time ever in the history of independent India.
• As the budget papers will not be printed, the official mobile app has been launched by the Ministry of Finance for complete access to all budget documents in the upcoming Union Budget 2021-22.

 Maharashtra govt to launch jail tourism at Yerwada prison on R-Day

• The Maharashtra government is starting “jail tourism” in the state, beginning with Pune’s 150-year-old Yerwada jail in the first phase, from Republic Day on January 26.
• Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said, “The famous Yerwada jail has cells where many stalwarts of the Indian freedom struggle were imprisoned. They include Mahatma Gandhi, Lokmanya Tilak, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Sarojini Naidu and Motilal Nehru among others. It also has a tree below which the Poona Pact was signed by Mahatma Gandhi and Babasaheb Ambedkar. Similarly, this is the jail where (revolutionaries) the Chaphekar brothers were hanged to death. Also to hang here were Sukha and Jinda, killers of General VK Vaidya and (Pakistani terrorist) Ajmal Kasab. The state government has decided to start jail tourism from Yerwada jail on January 26 with the view to let people see the place.” “Maharashtra is the first state in the country to do so,” he added.

Veteran Bureaucrat, poet and Hyderabad historian Narendra Luther passes away

• Noted historian, author, poet and retired bureaucrat Narendra Luther has passed. A 1955 batch IAS officer, Luther was closely associated with the history and culture of erstwhile Hyderabad state and its rulers.
• He had served in various positions before retiring as the chief secretary of the undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1991. He has penned a number of books on the history, heritage and architecture of Hyderabad.

 Legendary American talk-show host Larry King passes away

• The iconic American radio and television host, and paid spokesman, Larry King, has passed away. He rose to fame in 1978 as a radio host of The Larry King Show and then hosted Larry King Live on CNN for about 25 years from 1985 to 2010.
• King has quizzed thousands of world leaders, politicians, entertainers, athletes, and everyday people for CNN and other news outlets in a career spanning more than six decades.

National Voters’ Day observed on 25 January

• India observes “National Voters’ Day” every year on January 25 to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process. 2021 marks the 11th National Voters’ Day (NVD).
• The theme of NVD 2021 is, ‘Making Our Voters Empowered, Vigilant, Safe and Informed’. The day has been started from January 25, 2011, to mark the Foundation day of Election Commission of India (ECI), which was established on 25th January 1950.

 International Day of Education: 24 January

• The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 24 January as International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for peace and development. The first-ever International Day of Education was celebrated on 24 January 2019 as per the resolution passed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 3rd 2018 to celebrate the role of education in development.
• The third International Day of Education will be marked under the theme ‘Recover and Revitalize Education for the C-19 Generation’. Now is the time to power education by stepping up collaboration and international solidarity to place education and lifelong learning at the centre of the recovery.

 National Girl Child Day : January 24

• In India, the National Girl Child Day (NGCD) is observed annually on January 24. The day aims to focus on the inequalities faced by girls, to promote the education, health & nutrition of the girl child, and to spread awareness about the rights of a girl child. The day was observed for the first time in 2008 as an initiative by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Government of India.
• Spread awareness among people about all the inequalities faced by girls in the country.
• Promote awareness about the rights of a girl child.
• Increase awareness on the importance of girl education, health, and nutrition.

Tata Power Solar wins Rs 1,200 crore order to set up 320 MW project

• Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd (Tata Power Solar), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, on Saturday announced that it has received an order worth Rs 1,200 crore from state-run power giant NTPC.
• The company has received a Letter of Award (LoA) to build 320MW of ground mounted Solar PV project for NTPC, as per an official press release.
• The order value of the project is approximately ₹1,200 crore ($162 million).
• The commercial operation date for the project is set for May 2022.
