कर्नाटक ने किसानों के लिए किया "FRUITS" पोर्टल का अनावरण

• कर्नाटक सरकार ने एक ही मंच पर कृषि संबंधी जानकारी और कृषि ऋण विवरणों इकठ्ठा करने के लिए ई-गवर्नेंस पोर्टल, किसान पंजीकरण और एकीकृत लाभार्थी सूचना प्रणाली (Farmer Registration and Unified beneficiary Information System-FRUITS) का अनावरण किया है। इसमें सभी किसानों को पंजीकृत किया जाएगा और पोर्टल पर एक पहचान संख्या दी जाएगी।
• FRUITS पोर्टल को भूमि विवरण प्राप्त और वैलिडेट करने के लिए कर्नाटक राज्य के भूमि पैकेज में एकीकृत किया जाएगा है। इस पोर्टल की एक अन्य महत्वपूर्ण सुविधा ऑनलाइन सृजन है, जिसके द्वारा किसानों को उप-पंजीयक कार्यालय में जाने की आवयश्कता नहीं होगी। केनरा बैंक ने पायलट आधार पर FRUITS चलाने की सहमति दी है।
• केनरा बैंक ने देखा कि कर्नाटक राज्य सरकार बैंकिंग की सुगमता को सुधारने के लिए हमेशा प्रौद्योगिकी पहल के मामले में सबसे आगे रही है क्योंकि इसे BHOOMI पैकेज, ऋण माफी पोर्टल और वर्तमान में, FRUITS पोर्टल जैसी विभिन्न पहलों से देखा जा सकता है। इस संख्या का उपयोग करते हुए, बैंक और अन्य उधार देने वाले संस्थान किसानों की भूमि के विवरणों के साथ-साथ उनके मौजूदा उधारों का विवरण प्राप्त कर सकते हैं और ऋण देने पर त्वरित निर्णय ले सकते हैं।

 कैबिनेट ने DTH सेवाओं में 100% FDI को दी मंजूरी

• केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने डायरेक्ट-टू-होम (Direct-to-Home) प्रसारण सेवाओं के लिए संशोधित दिशानिर्देशों को अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है, जिसके बाद DTH में 100 फीसदी प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश (foreign direct investment) के साथ-साथ लाइसेंस की अवधि बढ़ाकर 20 साल कर दी गई है। अभी I&B दिशानिर्देशों के कारण, इस क्षेत्र को 100 प्रतिशत एफडीआई का लाभ नहीं मिल रहा था। दिशानिर्देशों को संशोधित करने से दिशानिर्देशों में वाणिज्य मंत्रालय के समान दिशानिर्देश होंगे, जिसके तहत 100 प्रतिशत एफडीआई आएंगे।
• संशोधित दिशानिर्देशों के अंतर्गत, अब लाइसेंस 10 साल की तुलना में 20 साल की अवधि के लिए जारी किए जाएंगे, और 10 साल के लिए नवीनीकृत किए जाएंगे। लाइसेंस शुल्‍क को सकल राजस्व (gross revenue) के 10 प्रतिशत से संशोधित सकल राजस्व ( adjusted gross revenue) के 8 प्रतिशत तक संशोधित किया गया है, जिसकी गणना जीआर से जीएसटी को घटाकर की जाएगी।

कैबिनेट ने चार सरकारी फिल्म मीडिया इकाइयों के विलय को दी मंजूरी

• केन्‍द्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने सरकार द्वारा संचालित चार फिल्म और मीडिया इकाइयों-फिल्‍म डिवीजन, फिल्‍म समारोह निदेशालय, भारतीय राष्‍ट्रीय फिल्‍म अभिलेखागार, और बाल फिल्‍म सोसायटी का विलय राष्ट्रीय फिल्म विकास निगम (National Film Development Corporation) के साथ करने की मंजूरी दे दी है।
• फिल्‍म मीडिया इकाइयों के एक निगम के अंतर्गत विलय से कार्यों और साधनों में एकरूपता आएगी तथा बेहतर समन्‍वय स्‍थापित होगा जिससे प्रत्‍येक मीडिया इकाई द्वाराआदेश पत्र हासिल करने में एकरूपता और कुशलता सुनिश्चित हो सकेगी। इससे कार्यों का दोहराव कम करने में मदद मिलेगी और खजाने की सीधे तौर पर बचत होगी।
• चार इकाइयों में से सबसे पुराने फिल्‍म डिवीजन की स्‍थापना 1948 में मुख्‍य रूप से सरकारी कार्यक्रमों और भारतीय इतिहास के चलचित्र संबंधी रिकॉर्ड के प्रचार के लिए वृत्तचित्र और न्‍यूज मैगजीन बनाने के लिए की गई थी।
• भारतीय राष्‍ट्रीय फिल्‍म अभिलेखागार की स्‍थापना 1964 में मीडिया इकाई के रूप में की गई थी। इसका मुख्‍य उद्देश्‍य भारतीय सिनेमा से जुड़ीधरोहर को प्राप्‍त करना और उसे संरक्षित करना है।
• फिल्‍म समारोह निदेशालय की स्‍थापनाभारतीय फिल्‍मों और सांस्‍कृतिक आदान-प्रदान को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 1973 में की गई थी।
• एक स्‍वायत्तशासी संगठन, भारतीय बाल फिल्‍म सोसायटी की स्‍थापना सोसायटी कानून के अंतर्गत 1955 में की गई थी। इसका विशेष उद्देश्‍य फिल्‍मों के माध्‍यम से बच्‍चों और युवाओं को मूल्‍य आधारित मनोरंजन प्रदान करना है।

एनटीपीसी ने जीता प्रतिष्ठित CII-ITC सस्टेनेबिलिटी अवार्ड्स 2020

• देश के सबसे बड़े बिजली उत्पादक संगठन नेशनल थर्मल पावर कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (NTPC) को कॉर्पोरेट सामाजिक जिम्मेदारी (CSR) डोमेन में प्रतिष्ठित CII-ITC सस्टेनेबिलिटी अवार्ड्स 2020 में "उत्कृष्टता" से सम्मानित किया गया है। एनटीपीसी को कॉरपोरेट एक्सीलेंस श्रेणी में सम्मानित किया गया है, जो अहम उपलब्धि के लिए प्रशंसा है।
• यह CII-ITC द्वारा CSR डोमेन में दिए जाने वाला सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार है। एनटीपीसी कॉर्पोरेट उत्कृष्टता श्रेणी में यह पुरस्कार प्राप्त करने वाला एकमात्र सार्वजनिक उपक्रम है। एनटीपीसी ने दूसरी बार कॉर्पोरेट एक्सेलेंस श्रेणी में प्रतिष्ठित सीआईआई-आईटीसी सस्टेनेबिलिटी अवार्ड्स लगातार दूसरी बार यानी वर्ष 2019 और 2020 में जीते हैं।

 श्रीनगर के अमर सिंह कॉलेज को यूनेस्को पुरस्कार से किया गया अलंकृत

• श्रीनगर के अमर सिंह कॉलेज को सांस्कृतिक विरासत संरक्षण के लिए साल 2020 के यूनेस्को एशिया-पैसिफिक अवार्ड्स में 'अवार्ड् ऑफ मेरिट' से नवाजा गया है। अमर सिंह कॉलेज को बहाल करने से कश्मीर के सबसे प्रमुख संस्थागत भवनों में से एक को अपना गौरव वापस मिला हैं।
• कॉलेज की इमारत 80 साल पुरानी है और केंद्र शासित प्रदेश जम्मू और कश्मीर में INTACH (इंडियन नेशनल ट्रस्ट फॉर आर्ट एंड कल्चरल हेरिटेज) ने अमर सिंह कॉलेज में संरक्षण कार्य किया था।

कमलादेवी चट्टोपाध्याय-NIF बुक प्राइज का हुआ ऐलान

• कमलादेवी चट्टोपाध्याय न्यू इंडिया फाउंडेशन बुक प्राइज 2020 के समकालीन/आधुनिक भारत पर लिखी सर्वश्रेष्ठ गैर-काल्पनिक बुक के विजेताओं की घोषणा कर दी गई हैं। यह पुरस्कार अमित आहूजा को उनके Mobilizing the Marginalized: Ethnic Parties without Ethnic Movements (Oxford University Press) और पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री जयराम रमेश को उनके A Chequered Brilliance: The Many Lives of VK Krishna Menon (Penguin Random House), जो राजनीतिज्ञ और राजनयिक वीके कृष्ण मेनन की जीवनी हैं, के लिए संयुक्त रूप से दिया गया। ।

• उपराष्ट्रपति वेंकैया नायडू ने वीडियो कांफ्रेसिंग के जरिए मिजोरम के गवर्नर श्री पी. एस. श्रीधरन पिल्लई द्वारा लिखित ‘Oh Mizoram’ बुक का विमोचन किया। पिल्लई वकील, विपुल लेखक, समाजसेवी, और एक विचारक है।
• उन्होंने मलयालम और अंग्रेजी में 125 किताबें लिखी हैं। ओह, मिजोरम अंग्रेजी में उनका पहला कविता संग्रह है।

Karnataka unveils “FRUITS” portal for farmers

• Karnataka government has unveiled the Farmer Registration and Unified beneficiary Information System (FRUITS), an e-governance portal, to create a repository of farmland information and farm loan details on a single platform. All farmers will be registered and given an identification number on the portal.
• The FRUITS Portal is integrated into the BHOOMI Package of the Karnataka State for fetching and validating the land details. One other important facility of this Portal is online creation of charge by which visit of farmers to Sub-Registrar Office is avoided.

Canara Bank has agreed to run FRUITS on a pilot basis.

• Canara Bank observed that Karnataka State Government has always been in the forefront of technology initiatives to improve the ease of Banking as can be seen from the various initiatives like BHOOMI Package, Debt Waiver Portal and currently, the FRUITS Portal.
• Using this number, banks and other lending institutions can access the land details of farmers as well as details of their existing borrowings and take a quick decision on lending.

 Cabinet approves 100% FDI in DTH services

• The Union Cabinet approved revised guidelines for Direct-to-Home (DTH) broadcasting services, allowing 100 per cent foreign direct investment (FDI) as well as increasing the licence period to 20 years. Due to our I&B guidelines, this field was not getting the benefit of 100 per cent FDI. After changing the guidelines, the guidelines will have the same guidelines as the Commerce Ministry and will come under 100 per cent FDI.
• Under the revised guidelines the licenses will be issued for a period of 20 years, compared to 10 years at the moment, and will be renewed for a 10-year period. The license fee has been revised from 10 per cent of gross revenue (GR) to 8 per cent of adjusted gross revenue (AGR), which will be calculated by deduction of GST from GR.

Cabinet approves the merger of four Govt film media units

• The Cabinet approved the merger of four government-run film and media units — the Films Division, the Directorate of Film Festivals, the National Film Archives of India and the autonomous body Children’s Film Society, with the National Film Development Corporation.
• The merger of Film Media Units under one corporation will lead to convergence of activities and resources and better coordination, thereby ensuring synergy and efficiency in achieving the mandate of each media unit. This will lead to a reduction in duplication of activities and direct savings to the exchequer.
• The Films Division, which was established in 1948 and is the oldest of the four units, was created primarily to produce documentaries and news magazines as publicity for government programmes and to keep a cinematic record of Indian history.
• The National Film Archives of India was established in 1964 with the primary objective of acquiring and preserving Indian cinematic heritage.
• The Directorate of Film Festivals was set up in 1973 to promote Indian films and cultural exchange.
• The Children’s Film Society, which was founded in 1955 with the specific objective of providing children and young people value-based entertainment through the medium of films.

NTPC wins the prestigious CII-ITC Sustainability Awards 2020

• Country’s largest power producer, National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) has been conferred “Excellence” in the prestigious CII-ITC Sustainability Awards 2020 in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Domain. NTPC has been honoured in the Corporate Excellence Category, Commendation for Significant Achievement.
• This is the highest award conferred by CII-ITC in CSR domain. NTPC is the only PSU to receive the award in the Corporate Excellence category. NTPC wins the prestigious CII-ITC Sustainability Awards in Corporate Excellence category second time in a row i.e. in the year 2019 and 2020.

 Srinagar’s Amar Singh College recognised with UNESCO Award

• Srinagar based Amar Singh College has been recognized with the ‘Award of Merit’ in the 2020 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation. The restoration of the Amar Singh College brought back one of the most prominent institutional buildings in Kashmir to its former glory.
• The college building is 80 years old and INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) chapter in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir had carried out the conservation work at the Amar Singh College.

Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay-NIF book prize announced

• The winners of the Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay New India Foundation Book Prize 2020 for the best non-fiction book on contemporary/ modern India were announced. The Prize was given jointly to Amit Ahuja for his Mobilizing the Marginalized: Ethnic Parties without Ethnic Movements (Oxford University Press) and to former Union minister Jairam Ramesh for his A Chequered Brilliance: The Many Lives of VK Krishna Menon (Penguin Random House), a biography of politician and diplomat VK Krishna Menon.
• The award carries a citation and a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh, that will be shared by the two authors.

 VP Venkaiah Naidu virtually released the book ‘Oh Mizoram’

• VP Venkaiah Naidu virtually released the book ‘Oh Mizoram’, written by Governor of Mizoram, Shri P S Sreedharan Pillai. Pillai is a lawyer, an orator, a prolific writer, a philanthropist, and a thinker.
• He has written 125 books in Malayalam & English. Oh, Mizoram is his first poetry collection in English.
