केन्‍द्र सरकार ने O-SMART योजना लागू किया

• पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय ने महासागर सेवाओं, मॉडलिंग, अनुप्रयोग, संसाधन और प्रौद्योगिकी (O-SMART) योजना को लागू किया है।
• इस योजना में संसाधनों, सेवाओं, प्रौद्योगिकी, टिप्पणियों और विज्ञान सहित महासागर विकास गतिविधियों से संबंधित 16 उप-परियोजनाएं शामिल हैं। भारतीय सुनामी प्रारंभिक चेतावनी केंद्र भी ओ-स्मार्ट योजना के तहत काम कर रहा है।
• यह योजना मरीन लिविंग रिसोर्सेज और भारतीय विशेष आर्थिक क्षेत्र (ईईजेड) में भौतिक के साथ उनके संबंधों को नियमित रूप से अद्यतन करती है। 

केंद्र सरकार देश में न्यूट्रिनो वेधशाला स्थापित करने की योजना बना रही है

• केंद्र सरकार देश में न्यूट्रिनो वेधशाला स्थापित करने की योजना बना रही है। केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), परमाणु ऊर्जा और अंतरिक्ष, डॉ. जितेंद्र सिंह ने 21 सितंबर, 2020 को संसद के निचले सदन, लोकसभा में एक लिखित जवाब में यह जानकारी दी।
• भारत स्थित न्यूट्रिनो ऑब्जर्वेटरी (INO) एक रॉक कवर के साथ एक विश्व स्तरीय भूमिगत प्रयोगशाला होगी जो पृथ्वी के वातावरण में निर्मित न्यूट्रिनो का अध्ययन करेगी। 

रेलवे की दिसंबर 2023 तक ब्रॉडगेज लाइन का 100 फीसदी विद्य़ुतीकरण की योजना

• भारतीय रेलवे ने 2023 तक अपने ब्रॉड गेज मार्गों के 100 प्रतिशत विद्युतीकरण को प्राप्त करने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया है।
• यह जानकारी रेल मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने 23 सितंबर 2020 को राज्यसभा में एक लिखित उत्तर में दी।

 बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

सेबी ने सोशल स्टॉक एक्सचेंज को लेकर कायदा कानून तैयार करने के लिये एक तकनीकी समूह का गठन किया

• सेबी ने गैर-लाभकारी संगठनों और लाभ-लाभ उद्यमों के साथ-साथ वित्तीय और शासन पर प्रकटीकरण आवश्यकताओं को निर्धारित करने के लिए एक रूपरेखा विकसित करने के लिए सामाजिक स्टॉक एक्सचेंज पर एक तकनीकी समूह की स्थापना की।
• नियामक ने नाबार्ड के पूर्व अध्यक्ष हर्ष कुमार भनवाला की अध्यक्षता में तकनीकी समूह का गठन किया है।
• समूह के अन्य सदस्यों में अशोका विश्वविद्यालय में सेंटर फॉर सोशल इंपैक्ट एंड परोपकार के संस्थापक-निदेशक, श्रीनिधि श्रीनाथ शामिल हैं।

 एचडीएफसी लाइफ इंश्योरेंस ने पॉलिसी बेचने के लिए यस बैंक के साथ साझेदारी की

• एचडीएफसी लाइफ ने कहा कि उसने बैंक के ग्राहकों को पॉलिसी बेचने के लिए YES बैंक के साथ साझेदारी की है।
• यह सीए व्यवस्था YES बैंक के ग्राहकों को जीवन बीमा उत्पादों की एचडीएफसी लाइफ की विस्तृत श्रृंखला का लाभ उठाने में सक्षम बनाएगी, जिसमें सुरक्षा, बचत और निवेश, सेवानिवृत्ति और गंभीर बीमारी के समाधान शामिल हैं।

 UNCTAD : वर्ष 2020 में भारत की विकास दर -5.9%

• व्यापार और विकास पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र सम्मेलन (UNCTAD) ने भविष्यवाणी की है कि भारत की जीडीपी वर्ष 2020 में 5.9% तक अनुबंध करेगी।
• वर्ष 2021 के लिए, UNCTAD ने भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था को 3.9% बढ़ने का अनुमान लगाया। यह प्रक्षेपण इसके व्यापार और विकास रिपोर्ट 2020 में किया गया था।

 अधिग्रहण और विलय

KKR ने रिलायंस रिटेल में 1.28% हिस्सेदारी के लिए निवेश किया

• विश्‍व की दिग्गज इन्वेस्टमेंट कंपनी KKR अब रिलायंस रिटेल (RRVL) में 5550 करोड़ रुपये निवेश करेगी। इसके बदले कंपनी को रिलायंस रिटेल में 1.28 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी मिलेगी। KKR ने इसके पहले आरआईएल की डिजिटल आर्म जियो प्लेटफॉर्म में भी 11367 करोड़ रुपये का निवेश किया था। इस निवेश के बाद रिलायंस रिटेल वेंचर्स लिमिटेड की इक्विटी वैल्यू 4.21 लाख करोड़ रुपये होगी। RRVL की सहायक कंपनी रिलायंस रिटेल लिमिटेड भारत के सबसे तेजी से बढ़ रहे रिटेल बिजनेस का संचालन करती है।
• 1976 में स्थापित अमेरिका की इन्वेस्टमेंट कंपनी KKR के पास 30 जून 2020 तक 222 अरब डॉलर यानी 22200 करोड़ डॉलर की संपत्ति है। वहीं, रिलायंस रिटेल के आंकड़ों के मुताबिक देश भर मे फैले उसके 12 हजार से ज्यादा स्टोर्स में सालाना करीब 64 करोड़ खरीददार आते हैं। यह भारत का सबसे बड़ा और सबसे तेजी से विकसित होने वाला रिटेल बिजनेस है।

 विज्ञान और तकनीक

DRDO ने किया 'ABHYAS' का सफल परीक्षण

• रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (DRDO) को रक्षा क्षेत्र में एक और बड़ी सफलता मिली है। डीआरडीओ ने ओडिशा स्थित इंटरसिम टेस्ट रेंज बालासोर से ABHYAS हाई-स्पीड एक्सपेंडेबल एरियल टारगेट (HEAT) सफल परीक्षण किया है। ट्रायल के दौरान, दो प्रदर्शनकारी वाहनों का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया गया। वाहनों का उपयोग विभिन्न मिसाइल प्रणालियों के मूल्यांकन के लिए लक्ष्य के रूप में किया जा सकता है।
• एयर वाहन को ट्विन अंडरस्लैंग बूस्टर का उपयोग करके लॉन्च किया गया है। यह एक छोटे गैस टरबाइन इंजन द्वारा संचालित है और इसमें मार्गदर्शन और नियंत्रण के लिए उड़ान नियंत्रण कंप्यूटर (FCC) के साथ नेविगेशन के लिए MEMS आधारित इनरट्रियल नेविगेशन सिस्टम (INS) है। वाहन को पूरी तरह से स्वायत्त उड़ान के लिए क्रमादेशित किया गया है। एयर व्हीकल की जांच लैपटॉप आधारित ग्राउंड कंट्रोल स्टेशन (GCS) का उपयोग करके की गई।

पूर्व क्रिकेटर ऐश बार्टी ने जीती गोल्फ क्लब चैंपियनशिप

• विश्व में टॉप रैंकिंग पर काबिज महिला टेनिस संघ (Women's Tennis Association) की खिलाड़ी और पूर्व पेशेवर क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी एशले बार्टी ने ब्रुकवाटर गोल्फ क्लब महिला चैंपियनशिप जीतकर अपने खिताबों की सूची में एक और उपलब्धि जोड़ ली है।
• 24 वर्षीय ऑस्ट्रेलियाई, जिन्होंने टेनिस से अलग एक साल के दौरान पेशेवर क्रिकेट खेला, ने महामारी के कारण अमेरिकी ओपन या रोलैंड गैरोस में अपने खिताब को बचाने के लिए इसमें हिस्सा नहीं लेना का फैसला किया है।

RBI ने एके दास को PMC बैंक का नया प्रशासक नियुक्त किया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने पंजाब और महाराष्ट्र सहकारी (PMC) बैंक के नए प्रशासक के रूप में एके दास (यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया में पूर्व महाप्रबंधक) को नियुक्त किया है।
• उन्होंने जेबी भोरिया का स्थान लिया है, जिन्होंने स्वास्थ्य कारणों से बैंक के प्रशासक के रूप में अपनी भूमिका से पद से हट गए है।
• सितंबर 2019 में, RBI ने PMC बैंक में धोखाधड़ी और वित्तीय अनियमितताओं के कारण PMC बैंक के बोर्ड को अपदस्थ कर दिया था।

 माली:  कर्नल बाह एनडॉ को अंतरिम राष्ट्रपति नामित किया गया

• पूर्व माली रक्षा मंत्री और सेवानिवृत्त कर्नल बाह एनडॉ को देश की नई सरकार का राष्ट्रपति नामित किया गया है।
• कर्नल असिमी गोइता को देश का उपराष्ट्रपति नियुक्त किया गया है।
• वह चुनाव कराने से पहले 18 महीने तक सत्ता में रहेंगे।

 IMF के कार्यकारी निदेशक के सलाहकार होंगे सीमांचला दास

• मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति ने वाशिंगटन में सीमांचला दास को कार्यकारी निदेशक, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (आईएमएफ) के सलाहकार के रूप में नियुक्त करने के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है।

रोमिला थापर द्वारा लिखित एक पुस्तक "वॉयसेस ऑफ डिसेंट"

• इतिहासकार रोमिला थापर द्वारा लिखित "वॉयसेस ऑफ डिसेंट" नामक एक नई पुस्तक पेंगुइन रैंडम हाउस इंडिया और सीगल बुक्स द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से प्रकाशित की जाएगी।
•  यह पुस्तक एक ऐतिहासिक निबंध है, जिसमें नागरिकता कानून और नागरिकों के राष्ट्रीय रजिस्टर के खिलाफ भारत में हालिया विरोध पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने के साथ, इसके रूपों में इसकी अभिव्यक्ति और सार्वजनिक प्रतिक्रिया सहित असंतोष की खोज की गई है।

Government implements O-SMART Scheme

• The Ministry of Earth Sciences has implemented the Ocean Services, Modelling, Applications, Resources, and Technology(O-SMART) Scheme.
• The scheme covers 16 sub-projects related to the Ocean development activities including resources, services, technology, observations, and sciences. The Indian Tsunami Early Warning Centre is also working under the O-SMART Scheme.
• The Scheme generates and regularly update information on Marine Living Resources and their relationship with the physical in Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

 Government to set up Neutrino Observatory in the country

• The central government is planning to set up a Neutrino Observatory in the country. This was informed by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh on September 21, 2020 in a written reply in the lower house of the Parliament, Lok Sabha.
• The India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) will be a world-class underground laboratory with a rock cover that will study the neutrinos produced in the atmosphere of the Earth.

Railway plans to complete 100 % electrification of its broad gauge routes by 2023

• The Indian Railways have set the target to achieve 100 percent electrification of its broad gauge routes by 2023.
• This information was stated by the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on 23 September 2020.

Sebi constitutes technical group on social stock exchange

• Sebi set up a technical group on social stock exchange to develop a framework for onboarding non-profit organisations and for-profit enterprises as well as prescribe disclosure requirements on financials and governance.
• The regulator has constituted the technical group under the chairmanship of Harsh Kumar Bhanwala, former chairman of Nabard.
• Other members of the group include Ingrid Srinath, founder-director, Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy at Ashoka University; Pushpa Aman Singh CEO of Guidestar; and Santhosh Jayaram, Partner and Head- Sustainability and CSR Advisory at KPMG.

HDFC Life enters into partnership with YES Bank to sell insurance policies

• HDFC Life said it has entered into a partnership with YES Bank to sell policies to the bank’s customers.
• This CA arrangement will enable customers of YES Bank to avail HDFC Life’s wide range of life insurance products, which include solutions for protection, savings and investment, retirement and critical illness.

 UNCTAD sees India growth moderating at -5.9% in 2020

• United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has predicted that the GDP of India will contract by 5.9% in the year 2020.
• For the year 2021, UNCTAD projects the Indian economy to grow by 3.9%.The projection was made in its Trade and Development Report 2020.

 Acquisitions and Mergers

KKR to invest in Reliance Retail for 1.28% stake

• Global investment firm KKR is going to invest in the Reliance Retail ventures Limited (RRVL). With investment of Rs 5,550 crore, KKR will be acquiring 1.28% equity stake in the RRVL on a fully diluted basis.
• This is the second such investment deal with Reliance Retail in past one month after American private firm Silver Lake invested Rs 7,500 cr into the company for a 1.75% Stake.
• This is also KKR’s second investment in a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, as earlier this year, the firm had invested Rs 11,367 crore in Jio Platforms for a 2.32 percent stake.

DRDO successfully test fires high-speed expendable aerial target (HEAT)- ABHYAS

• The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight-tested an indigenously-developed unmanned aerial vehicle, Abhyas, that can be used as target for evaluation of various missile systems.
• Two Abhyas vehicles, developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), were flight tested from a test range off Odisha coast.
• The High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) was launched using twin underslung booster.

 Sports

Former cricketer Ash Barty wins Golf Club Championship

• Ashleigh Barty, who is the top-ranked WTA player in the world, and a former professional cricket player, has now added another feat in her sporting list by winning golf club championship.
• The 24-year-old, world number one Australian, has won the Brookwater Golf Club women’s championship.
• Ash Barty had withdrawn from participating in US Open and French Open due to C-19 pandemic.

RBI appoints AK Das as the new administrator of PMC Bank

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed AK Das (ex-general manager at Union Bank of India), as the new administrator of the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank.
• He has replaced JB Bhoria who has stepped down from his role as the administrator of the bank due to health reasons.
• In September 2019, the RBI had superseded the board of PMC bank due to fraud and financial irregularities in the PMC bank.

 Bah Ndaw named Mali’s interim president

• Former Mali defense minister and retired colonel Bah Ndaw has been named the president of the country’s new transition government, while the leader of the junta that seized power last month.
• Colonel Assimi Goita, was appointed vice president of the country.
• He will be in power for 18 months before holding elections and returning Mali to civilian rule.

 Simanchala Dash appointed as advisor to IMF Executive Director

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the proposal to appoint Simanchala Dash as an advisor to Executive Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington.

A book titled “Voices of Dissent” authored by Romila Thapar

• A new book titled “Voices of Dissent” authored by Historian Romila Thapar will be jointly published by Penguin Random House India and Seagull Books.
• The book is a historical essay that explores dissent, including its articulation and public response to its forms, with a focus on the recent protest in India against the citizenship law and the National Register of Citizens.
