तमिलनाडु सरकार ने शुरू की "स्मार्ट ब्लैक बोर्ड योजना"

• तमिलनाडु सरकार ने राज्य के 80,000 सरकारी स्कूलों के लिए "स्मार्ट ब्लैक बोर्ड योजना" की शुरूआत की है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य एक बेहतर शिक्षण माहौल सुनिश्चित करने के साथ-साथ डिजिटल इंडिया और आत्मनिर्भर भारत की ओर कदम बढ़ाना है।
• इस स्मार्ट ब्लैक बोर्ड योजना के तहत, ऑडियो-वीडियो शिक्षण सामग्री को व्यापक रूप से पेन ड्राइव का उपयोग करके कक्षाओं में कंप्यूटर स्क्रीन में दिखाया जा सकता है। गौरतलब है कि तमिलनाडु सरकार ने सत्र 2020-21 में पाठ्यक्रम को 40 प्रतिशत तक कम करने का महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय लिया है।

 आसन कंज़र्वेशन रिज़र्व बना उत्तराखंड का पहला रामसर स्थल

• पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय ने आसन कंज़र्वेशन रिज़र्व (Asan Conservation Reserve) को उत्तराखंड का पहला रामसर स्थल बनने की घोषणा की है, जो इसे 'अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महत्व का वेटलैंड' बनाता है। यह रिज़र्व हिमालय के गढ़वाल क्षेत्र में देहरादून जिले के पास यमुना नदी के तट पर स्थित है।
• “आसन कंजर्वेशन रिजर्व ने रामसर साइट घोषित किए जाने वाले नौ मानदंडों में से पांच को पूरा करने के बाद इसे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महत्व के वेटलैंड के रूप में पहचान मिली है। इसने प्रजातियों और पारिस्थितिक समुदायों श्रेणी जल-पक्षियों पर और दूसरा मछली के मानदंडों को पूरा किया है। इसलिए रामसर आसन संरक्षण रिजर्व को अंतरराष्ट्रीय महत्व का स्थल घोषित किया गया है। इसके साथ, अब भारत में रामसर साइटों की संख्या 38 हो गई है, जो दक्षिण एशिया में सबसे अधिक और उत्तराखंड का पहला रामसर स्थल है।

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री वाईएस जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने बीपीएल परिवारों के लिए 'YSR बीमा' योजना का किया शुभारंभ

• आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री, वाईएस जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने परिवार के सदस्यों की मृत्यु अथवा दुर्घटना के मामले में लाभार्थी को बीमा कवर के माध्यम से वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए ‘YSR बीमा’ योजना शुरू की है।
• सफेद राशन कार्ड वाले सभी परिवार वाईएसआर बीमा योजना के लिए पात्र होंगे। योजना के तहत ग्राम/वार्ड कर्मी परिवार और इसके मुखिया का नाम दर्ज करने के लिए उनके घर जाएंगे।
• दावा करने के 15 दिनों के भीतर दावा राशि सीधे लाभार्थी के बैंक खाते में पहुंचाई जाएगी।
• इसके अलावा, गाँव और वार्ड सचिवालयों के माध्यम से परिवारों को 10,000 रुपये की तत्काल सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।
• इस योजना से राज्य के 1.41 करोड़ बीपीएल परिवार लाभान्वित होंगे।
• इस योजना के लिए राज्य सरकार द्वारा सालाना 510 करोड़ रुपये का भुगतान किया जाएगा। यह योजना आंध्र प्रदेश को बीमा योजना के लिए धन देने वाला देश का पहला राज्य बना देगा।

"INS Kavaratti" को भारतीय नौसेना में किया गया कमीशन

• थल सेनाध्यक्ष जनरल एमएम नरवाणेन ने विशाखापत्तनम में देश में निर्मित चार एंटी-सबमरीन वारफेयर (ASW) स्टील्थ कोरवेट में से अंतिम ‘INS Kavaratti’ को भारतीय नौसेना में शामिल किया है।
• इस पोत को भारतीय नौसेना के संगठन, डायरेक्टरेट ऑफ़ नेवल डिज़ाइन (DND) द्वारा डिज़ाइन और गार्डन रीच शिपबिल्डर्स एंड इंजीनियर्स (GRSE), कोलकाता द्वारा निर्मित किया गया है।

 DRDO ने एंटी-टैंक गाइडेड मिसाइल 'नाग' का फाइनल ट्रायल किया सफलतापूर्वक पूरा

• रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने राजस्थान के पोखरण फील्ड फायरिंग रेंज से तीसरी पीढ़ी की एंटी-टैंक गाइडेड मिसाइल 'नाग' का अंतिम परीक्षण सफलतापूर्वक पूरा कर लिया है। इस मिसाइल के सफल अंतिम परीक्षण के बाद टैंक-रोधी मिसाइल नाग भारतीय सेना में शामिल होने के लिए तैयार है। अंतिम परीक्षण के बाद, मिसाइल अब उत्पादन चरण में प्रवेश करेगी।
• नाग एंटी टैंक गाइडेड मिसाइल को रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) द्वारा विकसित किया गया है, जो दिन और रात दोनों ही परिस्थितियों में अत्यधिक किलेबन्द दुश्मन के टैंकों को मार गिराने में सक्षम है।इसकी परिचालन सीमा 500 मीटर से 20 किमी तक की है।

प्रख्‍यात अर्थशास्त्री डॉ. जयंत माधब का निधन

• असम के प्रसिद्ध अर्थशास्त्री डॉ. जयंत माधब का निधन हो गया। उन्होंने कलकत्ता मेट्रोपॉलिटन डेवलपमेंट कॉर्प के वित्तीय सलाहकार और एडीबी में निदेशक के रूप में कार्य किया था।
• वह उत्तर पूर्वी विकास वित्त निगम लिमिटेड के संस्थापक अध्यक्ष थे। इसके अतिरिक्त वह 2003-2009 के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री के वित्तीय सलाहकार भी रहे थे।

 भारतीय वायुसेना की पहली महिला अधिकारी विजयलक्ष्मी रमनन का निधन

• भारतीय वायु सेना की पहली महिला अधिकारी, विंग कमांडर (रि.) डॉ. विजयलक्ष्मी रमनन का निधन हो गया। उनका जन्म फरवरी 1924 में हुआ था, वह अपनी एमबीबीएस करने के बाद 22 अगस्त, 1955 को आर्मी मेडिकल कोर में शामिल हुई थी। विभिन्न वायु सेना अस्पतालों में स्त्री रोग विशेषज्ञ के रूप में कार्य करने के अलावा, उन्होंने युद्धों के दौरान घायल सैनिकों को सेवाए दी और और प्रशासनिक कर्तव्यों का पालन भी तत्पर्ता से किया।
• अगस्त 1972 में रमनन को विंग कमांडर के पद पर पदोन्नत किया गया था और पाँच साल बाद उन्हें विशिष्ट सेवा पदक से सम्मानित किया गया। वह फरवरी 1979 में सेवानिवृत्त हुई थी। इसके अलावा रमनन ने कर्नाटक संगीत की शिक्षा ली और बहुत कम उम्र में ऑल इंडिया रेडियो के साथ एक कलाकार के रूप में भी कार्य किया था।

• पारले एग्रो ने अपने फ्रूट्स प्लस फ़िज़ पोर्टफोलियो ‘B-Fizz’ तक ग्राहकों की पहुंच और जागरूकता बढ़ाने प्रियंका चोपड़ा जोनास को अपना नेशनल ब्रांड एंबेसडर बनाया है।
• इस अभियान का हॉटस्टार पर पूरे आईपीएल के दौरान और YouTube पर आक्रामक रूप से प्रचार किया जाएगा। B-Fizz, एक यूनिक और ताज़ा सेब का रस-आधारित माल्ट फ्लेवर्ड कार्बोनेटेड पेय पदार्थ है जो कि सभी आयु समूहों के उपभोक्ताओं को एक नया स्वाद अनुभव कराएगा।

भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग ने खर्च की सीमा से जुड़े मुद्दों की जांच के लिए समिति का गठन किया

• भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग ने पूर्व राजस्व सेवा अधिकारी और महानिदेशक (अन्वेषण) श्री हरीश कुमार और महासचिव तथा महानिदेशक (व्यय) श्री उमेश सिन्हा की सदस्यता में एक समिति का गठन किया है। यह समिति मतदाताओं की संख्या में वृद्धि और महंगाई दर में बढ़ोतरी तथा अन्य पहलुओं के मद्देनजर उम्मीदवारों की खर्च सीमा से जुड़े मुद्दों का परीक्षण करेगी।
• C-19 के मद्देनजर विधि और न्याय मंत्रालय ने 19 अक्टूबर, 2020 को निर्वाचन अधिनियम 1961 के नियम संख्या 90 में संशोधन अधिसूचित कर वर्तमान खर्चों की सीमा में 10% की बढ़ोतरी की है। खर्च की सीमा में की गई यह बढ़ोतरी वर्तमान में जारी चुनावों में भी तत्काल प्रभाव से लागू होगी।
• इससे पहले खर्च की सीमा में बढ़ोतरी 2014 में एक अधिसूचना के माध्यम से 28 फरवरी, 2014 को की गई थी जबकि आंध्र प्रदेश और तेलंगाना के संदर्भ में 10 अक्टूबर, 2018 को इसमें संशोधन किया गया था।
• पिछले 6 वर्षों में खर्च की सीमा में कोई वृद्धि नहीं की गई जबकि मतदाताओं की संख्या 834 मिलियन से बढ़कर 2019 में 910 मिलियन और अब 921 मिलियन हो गई है। इसके अलावा लागत मुद्रा स्फीति में भी वृद्धि हुई जो 220 से बढ़कर 2019 में 280 और अब 301 के स्तर पर पहुंच गई है।

Tamil Nadu Government launched “Smart Black Board Scheme”

• The state government of Tamil Nadu has launched the Smart Black Board scheme in 80,000 government schools of the state. The initiative aims to ensure a better teaching environment as well as lead towards Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
• Under this Smart Black Board scheme, audiovisual teaching material would be possible, that can even be fed into the computer screens in classes using widely available pen drives. The Tamil Nadu Govt has taken an important decision to lessen syllabus for season 2020-21 by 40 per cent.

Asan Conservation Reserve becomes Uttarakhand’s First Ramsar site

• Asan Conservation Reserve has become Uttarakhand’s first Ramsar site, making it a ‘Wetland of International Importance’, announced the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The Reserve is located on the banks of Yamuna river near Dehradun district in Garhwal region of the Himalayan state.
• “Asan Conservation Reserve cleared five out of the nine criteria needed to be declared as a Ramsar site and get identified as a Wetland of International Importance. It cleared the category on species and ecological communities, one on water-birds and another on fish. Ramsar declares Asan Conservation Reserve as a site of international importance. With this, the number of Ramsar sites in India goes up to 38, the highest in South Asia and Uttarakhand gets its first Ramsar site.

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched ‘YSR BIMA’ for BPL families

• The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched ‘YSR Bima’, a scheme to provide financial assistance through insurance cover to the beneficiary in case of death or accident of their families members. All families with white ration cards are eligible for YSR Bima scheme. Village/ward volunteers will visit the families and enrol the names of the primary householders.
• The claim amount will be directly credited into the beneficiary bank account within 15 days of making the claim.
• Apart from this, immediate assistance of Rs 10,000 will be provided to the families through village and ward secretariats.
• The scheme will benefit 1.41 crore BPL families of the state.
• An amount of Rs 510 crore would be paid by the state government annually as an insurance premium for this scheme.
• This will also make Andhra Pradesh as the first state in the country to single-handedly fund the insurance scheme.

“INS Kavaratti” commissioned into Indian Navy

• The Chief of Army Staff, General MM Naravane has commissioned the ‘INS Kavaratti’, the last of four indigenously-built anti-submarine warfare (ASW) stealth corvettes, into the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam.

DRDO successfully conducts final trial of Nag anti-tank guided missile

• Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully carried out the final trial of the third generation, anti-tank guided missile ‘NAG’, from the Pokhran field firing ranges in Rajasthan.
• The successful final user trial of the missile makes the Nag anti-tank missile ready for induction in the Indian Army. Following the final trial, the missile will now enter into the production phase.

 OBITUARY

Renowned economist Dr Jayanta Madhab passed away

• The renowned economist from Assam, Dr Jayanta Madhab passed away. He worked as financial adviser to Calcutta Metropolitan Development Corp and has served as a director at the ADB.
• He was the founder chairman of North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. He was also the financial advisor of the Chief Minister from 2003-2009.

 First woman officer of  IAF’s Vijayalakshmi Ramanan passed away

• Indian Air Force 1st woman officer, Wing Commander (retd) Dr Vijaylakshmi Ramanan passed away. She was born in February 1924, she did her MBBS and later was commissioned in the Army Medical Corps on August 22, 1955. Besides having served as a gynaecologist at various Air Force Hospitals, including here, she had also attended to the troops wounded during wars and performed administrative duties.
• Ramanan was promoted to the rank of Wing Commander in August 1972 and honoured with the Vishist Seva Medal five years later.
• She had retired in February 1979. Ramanan was also trained in Carnatic music and had been an artist with the All India Radio at a very young age.

ECI constitutes committee to examine issues concerning expenditure limits

• The Election Commission of India has set up a 2-member committee to examine the issue of revising the expenditure limit for candidates for Lok Sabha and assembly polls.
• The committee will comprise of Shri Harish Kumar, Ex. IRS and DG (Investigation), Shri Umesh Sinha, Secretary-General and DG (Expenditure). The need to set up this committee was felt in view of the increase in the number of electors and the rise in the Cost Inflation Index.
• It will submit its report within 120 days of its constitution.
