वित्त मंत्रालय ने 100 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की HFC को SARFAESI कानून का उपयोग करने की अनुमति दी

• वित्त मंत्रालय ने आवास वित्त कंपनियों (एचएफसी) को 100 करोड रुपये से अधिक की संपत्ति के आकार के साथ अनुमति दी है। SARFAESI कानून का उपयोग करके बकाया राशि की वसूली के लिए। इस कदम से हजारों छोटे एचएफसी के लिए एक शॉट होने की उम्मीद है, क्योंकि यह बकाया राशि की त्वरित वसूली की सुविधा प्रदान करेगा और इन कंपनियों को और अधिक उधार देने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करेगा।
• पहले के एचएफसी जिनकी संपत्ति रु. 500 करोड़ (और वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा अधिसूचित) को बकाया वसूलने के लिए सरफेसी कानून का उपयोग करने की अनुमति दी गई थी। वर्तमान में, लगभग 100 एचएफसी हैं जो एनएचबी के साथ पंजीकृत हैं। हाउसिंग फाइनेंस इंडस्ट्री की संपत्ति में टॉप-10 एचएफसी की हिस्सेदारी 70-80 फीसदी है। सरफेसी अधिनियम 2002 बैंकों और अन्य वित्तीय संस्थानों को ऋण की वसूली के लिए आवासीय या वाणिज्यिक संपत्तियों (डिफॉल्टरों की) की नीलामी करने की अनुमति देता है।

विमुद्रीकरण योजना 2016 के दौरान गृहणियों द्वारा किए गए नकद जमा पर कोई कर नहीं

• न्यायिक सदस्य ललित कुमार और लेखाकार सदस्य डॉ मीठा लाल मीणा की संयुक्त आयकर अपीलीय न्यायाधिकरण (ITAT), आगरा खंडपीठ ने फैसला सुनाया है कि विमुद्रीकरण योजना 2016 के दौरान गृहिणियों द्वारा की गई नकद जमा राशि, यदि वह राशि 2.5 लाख रुपये कम है तो ऐसी राशि को निर्धारिती की आय नहीं माना जाएगा।
• यह फैसला ट्रिब्यूनल में एक गृहिणी द्वारा दायर एक अपील पर विचार करने दौरान किया गया, जिसने विमुद्रीकरण अवधि के दौरान बैंक खाते में 2,11,500 रुपये की नकदी जमा की थी। गृहिणियोंने ट्रिब्यूनल को बताया कि उसने अपने और अपने परिवार के भविष्य के उद्देश्यों के लिए अपने पति, बेटे, रिश्तेदारों द्वारा दी गई अपनी पिछली बचत से उपरोक्त राशि को एकत्र/बचाया था।

अरुणाचल प्रदेश की महिला, तडांग मीनू AIBA में नियुक्त होने वाली पहली बनीं

• अरुणाचल प्रदेश की महिला, डॉ तडांग मीनू, राज्य की पहली और देश की दूसरी भारतीय महिला हैं जिन्हें अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुक्केबाजी संघ की कोच समिति का सदस्य नियुक्त किया गया है। उन्हें मुक्केबाजी के क्षेत्र में उनके समृद्ध ज्ञान और अनुभव के लिए AIBA द्वारा नियुक्त किया गया है।
• डॉ तडांग वर्तमान में राजीव गांधी विश्वविद्यालय (RGU) में शारीरिक शिक्षा विभाग की अध्यक्ष हैं और दो वर्ष के लिए भारतीय महिला आयोग के बॉक्सिंग फेडरेशन के अध्यक्ष हैं।

• ब्रिटिश वकील करीम खान ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आपराधिक न्यायालय के नए मुख्य अभियोजक के रूप में शपथ ग्रहण की हैं। उन्होंने उन राष्ट्रों तक पहुंचने की प्रतिबद्धता जताई जो अभी कोर्ट के सदस्य नहीं हैं और उन देशों में परीक्षण करने का प्रयास करने का प्रयास करते हैं जहां अपराध किए जाते हैं। उन्होंने लाइबेरिया के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति चार्ल्स टेलर और केन्या के उप राष्ट्रपति विलियम रुटो का अंतरराष्ट्रीय अदालतों में बचाव किया हैं।

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र लोक सेवा दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 23 जून को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। यह दिन विकास प्रक्रिया में सार्वजनिक सेवा के योगदान को उजागर करने और समुदाय के लिए सार्वजनिक सेवा को महत्व देने के लिए मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को विश्‍व भर के विभिन्न सार्वजनिक सेवा संगठनों और विभागों द्वारा व्यापक रूप से समुदाय में विकास और सुधार करने में लोक सेवकों की भूमिका को पहचानने के लिए कई कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करके जाना जाता है।

भारती एयरटेल और टाटा समूह ने 5जी नेटवर्क समाधान के लिए साझेदारी की

• भारती एयरटेल और टाटा समूह ने भारत में 5जी नेटवर्क समाधान लागू करने के लिए एक रणनीतिक साझेदारी की घोषणा की है, जो जनवरी 2022 से वाणिज्यिक विकास के लिए उपलब्ध होगा। टाटा समूह ने एक O-RAN (ओपन-रेडियो एक्सेस नेटवर्क)-आधारित रेडियो और गैर- स्टैंडअलोन आर्किटेक्चर/स्टैंड-अलोन आर्किटेक्चर (NSA/SA) कोर और पूरी तरह से स्वदेशी टेलीकॉम स्टैक को एकीकृत किया है, जो समूह और उसके भागीदारों की क्षमताओं का लाभ उठाने सक्षम बनाएगा है।
• NSA/SA रेडियो वो तकनीक है जो 5G रेडियो के सिग्नलिंग को नियंत्रित करती है। जबकि NSA 5G से 4G कोर के सिग्नलिंग को नियंत्रित कर सकता है, SA 5G रेडियो को सीधे 5G कोर नेटवर्क से जोड़ सकता है और नियंत्रण सिग्नलिंग 4G नेटवर्क पर निर्भर नहीं करता है।
• एयरटेल भारत में अपनी 5G रोलआउट योजनाओं के हिस्से के रूप में इस स्वदेशी समाधान को पायलट और लागू करेगा और सरकार द्वारा जारी दिशानिर्देशों के अनुसार जनवरी 2022 में पायलट तौर पर शुरू करेगा। सूत्रों के अनुसार, टाटा समूह हार्डवेयर समाधान के लिए भारतीय तकनीकी कंपनियों और स्टार्ट-अप के साथ काम करेगा, टाटा 'सुपर इंटीग्रेटर के रूप में काम कर रहा है'। यह इस साझेदारी से अफ्रीका और श्रीलंका जैसे अन्य देशों में प्रौद्योगिकी निर्यात करने के लिए लाभान्वित हो सकता है।

ताहिरा कश्यप खुराना की किताब 'द 7 सिन्स ऑफ बीइंग ए मदर'

• फिल्म निर्माता-लेखक ताहिरा कश्यप खुराना ने मदरहुड पर लिखी अपनी आगामी पुस्तक "द 7 सिन्स ऑफ बीइंग ए मदर" की घोषणा की है। यह उनकी पांचवीं किताब है और दूसरी जो उन्होंने महामारी के दौरान लिखी है।
• पिछले वर्ष, फिल्म निर्माता ने बीइंग ए वुमन के 12 कमांडमेंट्स जारी की थी, जिसे उन्होंने कोरोनोवायरस-प्रेरित लॉकडाउन के दौरान लिखना समाप्त कर दिया था। लेखक ने क्रैकिंग द कोड: माई जर्नी इन बॉलीवुड एंड सॉल्ड आउट जैसी किताबें भी लिखी हैं।

NATIONAL

Finance Ministry allowed HFCs above Rs 100 crore to use to SARFAESI law

• Ministry of Finance has allowed housing finance companies (HFCs) with asset size of over Rs. 100 crore to recover the dues using SARFAESI law. This move is expected to be a shot in the arm for thousands of small HFCs, as it will facilitate quick recovery of dues and encourage these companies to lend more.
• Earlier HFCs with assets over Rs. 500 crore (and notified by Finance Ministry) were allowed to use SARFAESI law to recover dues. Currently, there are nearly 100 HFCs that are registered with NHB. The top-10 HFCs account for 70-80 per cent of the assets of the housing finance industry. SARFAESI Act 2002 allows banks and other financial institutions to auction residential or commercial properties (of Defaulter) to recover loans.

No tax on cash deposits made by housewives during the demonetization scheme 2016

• The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), Agra bench consisting of Judicial Member Lalit Kumar and the Accountant Member Dr Mitha Lal Meena has ruled that cash deposit made by the housewives during the demonetization scheme 2016, cannot be subject to addition if such deposits are below Rs 2.5 lakh and such amount shall not be treated as income of the assessee.
• The Tribunal was considering an appeal filed by a housewife, the assessee who deposited the cash of Rs 2,11,500 in the bank account during the demonetization period. It was the case of the assessee that she had collected/saved the above-said sum from her previous saving, given by her husband, son, relatives for the purposes of her and her family’s future.

Arunachal Pradesh’s woman, Tadang Minu becomes first to be appointed in AIBA

• Arunachal Pradesh woman, Dr Tadang Minu, becomes the first in the state and the second Indian woman in the country to be appointed as a member of the Coaches Committee of the International Boxing Association (AIBA). She has been appointed by AIBA for her enormous knowledge and experience in the field of boxing.
• Dr Tadang is currently the HOD of Physical Education at Rajiv Gandhi University(RGU) and is the chairman of the Boxing Federation of India’s Women’s Commission for two years.

New Zealand’s Weightlifter Laurel Hubbard will be first trans athlete to compete at Olympics

• The New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard is poised to make history and headlines, as well as significant controversy, after being confirmed as the first transgender athlete to compete at an Olympic Games. The 43-year-old, who will be the fourth oldest weightlifter at an Olympics, is regarded as a genuine medal contender in the women’s super heavyweight 87kg-plus category in Tokyo.
• But while her inclusion has been welcomed by trans groups, it has also been questioned by those who believe she has unfair advantages in strength and power, having gone through male puberty before transitioning in 2012.

British lawyer Karim Khan sworn in as the new chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court

• British lawyer Karim Khan was sworn as the new chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court. He pledging to reach out to nations that are not members of the court and to try to hold trials in countries where crimes are committed. He has defended clients at international courts including former Liberian President Charles Taylor & Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto.
• Khan, a 51-year-old English lawyer, has years of experience in international courts as a prosecutor, investigator and defence attorney. He takes over from Fatou Bensouda of the Gambia, whose nine-year term ended.

 Upasana Kamineni named ‘Ambassador of Forest Frontline Heroes’ at WWF India

• WWF India has inducted Upasana Kamineni, Director, Apollo Hospitals, as “Ambassador of Forest Frontline Heroes” with the aim to appreciate the efforts of frontline workers in hospitals and in the wildlife protection space. The focus of this will be on several States across the country covering most eco-regions.
• Frontline forest staff are often local community members themselves and play an important role in building an interface between communities and conservation.

International Olympic Day 2021: 23 June

• The International Olympic Day is held on June 23 each year. The day is celebrated to encourage more people to participate in the Olympic Games and spread awareness about the event and promote the Olympic Movement. Based on the three pillars – “move”, “learn” and “discover” – the National Olympic Committees are deploying sports, cultural and educational activities to encourage participation regardless of age, gender, social background, or sporting ability.
• The Olympic Day 2021 theme is “Stay healthy, stay strong, stay active with the #OlympicDay workout on 23 June.”
• The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved to observe Olympic Day in January 1948 to commemorate the creation of the International Olympic Committee on 23 June 1894. The creation of the modern-day Olympic Games is inspired by the ancient Olympic Games held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. The first Olympic Day was celebrated in the year 1948.

United Nations Public Service Day 2021: 23 June

• United Nations Public Service Day is observed globally on 23rd June every year. This day is to highlight the contribution of public service in the development process and to value public service to the community. This day is widely known by various public service organisations and departments around the world by organising several events to recognise the role of public servants in making developments and improvements in the community.
• As a part of the occasion, the Division of Public Institutions and Digital Government of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs will host a virtual event, in collaboration with the government of the United Arab Emirates, under the theme of “Innovating the Future Public Service: New Government Models for a New Era to Reach the SDGs”.

Bharti Airtel and Tata Group partner for 5G network solutions

• Bharti Airtel and Tata Group have announced a strategic partnership for implementing 5G network solutions for India, which will be available for commercial development from January 2022. Tata Group has developed an O-RAN (open-radio access network)-based radio and non-standalone architecture/stand-alone architecture (NSA/SA) core and has integrated a totally indigenous telecom stack, leveraging the capabilities of the group and its partners.
• The NSA/SA are radio technology that controls the signalling of 5G radio. While NSA can control signalling of 5G to the 4G core, the SA can connect the 5G radio directly to the 5G core network and control signalling does not depend on the 4G network.
• Airtel will pilot and deploy this indigenous solution as part of its 5G rollout plans in India and start the pilot in January 2022, as per the guidelines formulated by the government. According to sources, Tata Group will work with Indian tech companies and start-ups for hardware solutions, Tata ‘acting as a super integrator’. It can benefit from this partnership to export the technology to other countries such as Africa and Sri Lanka.

• Filmmaker-writer Tahira Kashyap Khurrana has announced her upcoming book about motherhood, titled “The 7 Sins of Being A Mother”.
• This is her fifth book and the second she wrote amid the pandemic. Last year, the filmmaker had released 12 Commandments of Being A Woman, which she finished writing during the coronavirus-induced lockdown. The writer has also penned books like Cracking The Code: My Journey in Bollywood and Souled Out.
