कैबिनेट ने हिंदुस्तान फ्लोरोकार्बन लिमिटेड को बंद करने की मंजूरी दी

• केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने हाल ही में सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के हिंदुस्तान फ्लोरोकार्बन लिमिटेड (HFL) को बंद करने की मंजूरी दी। इस कंपनी में केवल 88 कर्मचारी काम कर रहे हैं।
• 2013-14 के बाद से घाटे में है और इसकी निवल कीमत नकारात्मक निशान से नीचे आ गई है। 31 मार्च, 2019 तक, कंपनी ने 62.81 करोड़ रुपये का संचयी नुकसान उठाया और इसकी कुल संपत्ति 43.20 करोड़ रुपये है।
• NBCC (भारत) भूमि संपत्ति के निपटान की सुविधा के लिए एक भूमि प्रबंधन एजेंसी होगी। हिंदुस्तान फ्लोरोकार्बन लिमिटेड हिंदुस्तान ऑर्गेनिक केमिकल्स की एक सहायक कंपनी है।

जयपुर साहित्य महोत्सव शुरू

• राजस्थान के मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत ने 23 जनवरी, 2019 को जयपुर साहित्य महोत्सव 2020 का उद्घाटन किया।
• महोत्सव में देश के साहित्यकार भाग लेते हैं। यह जयपुर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल का 13 वां साल है। इस बार देश और दुनिया के विभिन्न हिस्सों से 550 से अधिक वक्ता महोत्सव में शामिल हो रहे हैं।
• उत्सव के दौरान NRC, CAA और दिल्ली के JNU जैसे कुछ मुद्दों पर भी चर्चा की जा सकती है। हालाँकि आयोजकों ने इन मुद्दों को चर्चा की सूची में सूचीबद्ध नहीं किया है।

पहला सुकुमार सेन मेमोरियल व्याख्यान आयोजित करने के लिए ECI

• भारत के चुनाव आयोग (ECI) ने भारत के पहले मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त सुकुमार सेन को श्रद्धांजलि के रूप में एक वार्षिक व्याख्यान का आयोजन किया है।
• सुकुमार सेन (1898-1963) ने लोकसभा और राज्य विधानसभाओं के लिए पहले दो आम चुनाव आयोजित किए। भारत के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी ने इस अवसर पर एक व्याख्यान दिया।
• सुकुमार सेन का जन्म 02 जनवरी 1898 को हुआ था। उन्होंने अपनी शिक्षा प्रेसिडेंसी कॉलेज, कोलकाता और यूनिवर्सिटी कॉलेज, लंदन से पूरी की। वह 1922 में भारतीय सिविल सेवा में शामिल हुए।

एस जयशंकर नाइजर में गांधी कन्वेंशन सेंटर का उद्घाटन करते हैं

• विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर और नाइजीरियाई राष्ट्रपति महामदौ इस्सौफौ ने संयुक्त रूप से महात्मा गांधी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कन्वेंशन सेंटर का उद्घाटन किया।
• यह महात्मा गांधी के 150 वें जन्मदिन पर अफ्रीका में शुरू होने वाला पहला सम्मेलन केंद्र है।
• इस सम्मेलन केंद्र को एक विशाल, आधुनिक और पर्यावरण के अनुकूल सुविधा के रूप में डिजाइन किया गया था। एस जयशंकर नाइजर की यात्रा करने वाले भारत के पहले विदेश मंत्री हैं।

ICICI बैंक ने बगैर डेबिट कार्ड के ATM से 'कार्डलेस कैश निकासी ' सुविधा शुरू करने की घोषणा की

• अब बिना डेबिट कार्ड के एटीएम से करें 20 हजार रुपये तक की निकासी, ICICI बैंक ने दी यह सुविधा
• The यह सेवा ICICI इंटरनेट बैंकिंग ऐप “iMobile” पर एक अनुरोध डालकर ICICI ग्राहकों को एटीएम से नकदी निकालने में सक्षम करेगी।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 के लिए भारत की GDP विकास दर 5.7% तक कम कर दी है

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने अपनी विश्व आर्थिक स्थिति और संभावनाएँ (WESP) 2020 रिपोर्ट में वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 के लिए भारत की जीडीपी विकास दर को 5.7% तक कम कर दिया है।
• संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने विकास दर को 7.6% से घटाकर 7.6% कर दिया है जो उसने अपनी WESP 2019 रिपोर्ट में अनुमान लगाया था।
• UN ने वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 के लिए भारत की विकास दर 6.6% और वित्त वर्ष 2021-22 के लिए 6.3% का अनुमान लगाया है।

प्रिया प्रकाश ने सिस्को यूथ लीडरशिप अवार्ड 2019 जीता

• भारत स्थित HealthSetGo के संस्थापक और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी, प्रिया प्रकाश ने 2019 के लिए वैश्विक नागरिक पुरस्कार: सिस्को यूथ लीडरशिप अवार्ड जीता है। यह पुरस्कार उनके स्कूल स्वास्थ्य कार्यक्रम के लिए दिया गया था जो बच्चों को स्वास्थ्य सेवा प्रदान करता है।

भारतीय निशानेबाज दिव्यांशु और अपूर्वी ने मेयटन कप में जीता स्वर्ण पदक

• ऑस्ट्रिया में चल रहे मेयटन कप में दो भारतीय निशानेबाजो अपूर्वी चंदेला और दिव्यांश सिंह पंवार ने स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम किया है।
• दिव्यांश ने पुरूषों के 10 मीटर एअर राइफल स्पर्धा में 249.7 अंक के साथ स्वर्ण हासिल किया जबकि अपूर्वी ने इसी स्पर्धा के महिला वर्ग में 251.4 अंक के साथ पीला तमगा अपने नाम किया।

नियुक्ति

चल्ला श्रीनिवासुलु सेट्टी बने SBI के नए MD

• सरकार ने सोमवार को चल्ला श्रीनिवासुलु सेट्टी को भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (SBI) का मैनेजिंग डायरेक्टर नियुक्त किया है। सेट्टी का कार्यकाल 3 वर्ष का होगा।
• मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति के समक्ष सेट्टी के नाम का प्रस्ताव रखा था, जिससे ACC ने मंजूर किया हैं।
• वर्तमान में चल्ला श्रीनिवासुलु सेट्टी भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के उपप्रबंधक का पद संभाल रहे हैं।

BOB, BOI और केनरा बैंक में नए MD और CEO नियुक्त

• कार्मिक मंत्रालय द्वारा सोमवार को जारी आदेश के अनुसार संजीव चड्ढा को बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा (Bank of Baroda) का प्रबंध निदेशक (एमडी) और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) नियुक्त किया गया है। चड्ढा इस समय भारतीय स्टेट बैंक में उप प्रबंध निदेशक हैं और उन्हें तीन साल के लिए नए पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है।
• कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति (ACC) ने लिंगम वेंकट प्रभाकर को केनरा बैंक के MD और CEO और अतनु कुमार दास को बैंक ऑफ इंडिया के MD और CEO के रूप में नियुक्त किया। प्रभाकर पंजाब नेशनल बैंक के कार्यकारी निदेशक थे और वे आरए शंकर नारायणन की जगह लेंगे जो इस महीने के अंत में सेवानिवृत्त होंगे।
• अतनु कुमार दास को बैंक ऑफ इंडिया में MD और CEO के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। वह पद संभालने की तिथि से तीन वर्ष तक बैंक का मुखिया होगा। वह वर्तमान में उसी बैंक में कार्यकारी निदेशक के रूप में काम कर रहे हैं |

ग्रीनपीस इंडिया रिपोर्ट: झरिया भारत का सबसे प्रदूषित शहर है

• ग्रीनपीस इंडिया नामक NGO द्वारा जारी रिपोर्ट के अनुसार झारखण्ड का झरिया शहर भारत का सबसे प्रदूषित शहर है, इस सूची में दूसरे स्थान पर झारखण्ड का धनबाद शहर है।
• इस रिपोर्ट के अनुसार देश के 10 सबसे प्रदूषित शहरों में से 6 शहर उत्तर प्रदेश के हैं। मिजोरम का लुंगलेई शहर देश का सबसे कम प्रदूषित शहर है। इसके लिए ग्रीनपीस इंडिया ने केन्द्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड का डाटा इस्तेमाल किया है।
• मिजोरम में लुंगलेई देश का सबसे कम प्रदूषित शहर है। यह रिपोर्ट देशभर के 287 शहरों के PM 10 आंकड़ों के विश्लेषण पर आधारित है।

Cabinet approves closure of Hindustan Fluorocarbons Ltd

• The Union Cabinet recently approved the closure of public sector Hindustan Fluorocarbon Ltd (HFL). Only 88 employees are working in this company.
• HFL has been at a loss since 2013-14 and its net worth has come down to a negative mark. As on March 31, 2019, the company incurred a cumulative loss of Rs 62.81 crore and its net worth is Rs 43.20 crore.
• NBCC (India) will be a land management agency for facilitating the disposal of land assets. Hindustan Fluorocarbon Ltd is a subsidiary company of Hindustan Organic Chemicals.

Jaipur Literature Festival begins

• Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated Jaipur Literature Festival 2020 on January 23, 2019. Litterateurs of the country participate in the festival.
• It is the 13th year of the Jaipur Literature Festival. This time more than 550 speakers are joining the festival from different parts of the country and the world.
• Some issues like NRC, CAA and Delhi's JNU can also be discussed during the festival. Although the organizers have not listed these issues in the list of discussions.

ECI to conduct first Sukumar Sen Memorial lecture

• Election Commission of India (ECI) has organized an annual lecture as a tribute to Sukumar Sen, the first Chief Election Commissioner of India.
• Sukumar Sen (1898–1963) admirably conducted the first two general elections for the Lok Sabha and the state legislatures. Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee delivered a lecture on this occasion.
• Sukumar Sen was born on January 02, 1898. He completed his education from Presidency College, Kolkata and University College, London. He joined the Indian Civil Service in 1922.

S Jaishankar inaugurates Gandhi Convention Center in Niger

• Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Nigerien President Mahamadou Issoufou jointly inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi International Convention Center. 
• It is the first convention center that started in Africa on the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
• This convention center was designed as a spacious, modern and environmentally friendly facility. S Jaishankar is the first foreign minister of India to visit Niger.

ICICI Bank introduces a cardless cash withdrawal facility through ATMs

• ICICI Bank has rolled out the “Cardless Cash Withdrawal” service through ATM. The “Cardless Cash Withdrawal” service can be used for cash withdrawal having a per day transaction limit of Rs 20,000.
• The service will enable the ICICI customers to withdraw cash from the ATM by putting a request on ICICI Internet Banking App “iMobile”.

UN lowers India’s GDP growth rate to 5.7% for FY 2019-20

• The United Nations has lowered India’s GDP growth rate to 5.7% for the Fiscal Year 2019-20 in its World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) 2020 report. 
• UN has lowered the growth rate to 5.7% from 7.6% which is projected in its WESP 2019 report.
• UN has also projected India’s growth rate at 6.6% for FY 2020-21 and 6.3% for FY 2021-22. According to the UN, India’s growth rate for FY 2018-19 was 6.8%.

Priya Prakash wins Cisco Youth Leadership Award 2019

• The founder and CEO of India based HealthSetGo, Priya Prakash, has won the Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award for 2019. The award was given for her school health program that provides healthcare support to children.
• HealthSetGo is a healthcare organization that supports the UN’s (United Nations) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to improve the health & lives of children.

Indian shooter Divyansh & Apurvi wins gold medal at Meyton Cup

• Indian shooters Divyansh Singh Pawar and Apurvi Chandela have clinched a gold medal each in Meyton Cup, a private tournament in Innsbruck, Austria. 
• While Divyansh won the gold in the men's 10m air rifle event with an effort of 249.7, Apurvi bagged the yellow metal in the 10m air rifle women's category with a 251.4.

Challa Sreenivasulu Setty becomes SBI MD

• Challa Sreenivasulu Setty has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD) of the State Bank of India (SBI). He will remain on this post for the next three years.
• Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved his name proposed by the Department of the Financial Services.
• Challa is currently working as the deputy managing director of the SBI. This post is extendable by two years or until any other orders. However, such orders come only after reviewing performance.

BOB, BOI and Canara Bank get new MD & CEOs

• The government on Monday appointed heads of three large public sector banks - Bank of Baroda, Bank of India and Canara bank for a period of three years. Sanjiv Chadha has been appointed as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bank of Baroda (BoB) by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). He succeeds P S Jayakumar, whose term ended in October last year.
• The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) appointed Lingam Venkat Prabhakar as MD & CEO of Canara Bank and Atanu Kumar Das as MD & CEO of Bank of India. Prabhakar was the executive director of Punjab National Bank and he will be replacing RA Sankara Narayanan who will retire end of this month.
• Atanu Kumar Das has been appointed as the MD and CEO of Bank of India. He will head the bank for three years from the date of assuming office. He is at present working as the Executive Director in the same bank.

Greenpeace India Report: Jharia most polluted city in India

• The coal-belching town of Jharia in Jharkhand to be the most polluted city in India according to a Greenpeace India Report. Jharkhand’s Dhanbad, known for its rich coal reserves and industries, is the second-most polluted city in India.
• Delhi is the 10th-most polluted city in India, according to the report.  As per the report, 6 of the top-10 polluted cities are in Uttar Pradesh comprising of Noida, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Allahabad, Moradabad and Firozabad.
• Lunglei in Mizoram is the least polluted city in the country. The report is based on the analysis of PM10 data from 287 cities across the country.
