सरकार ने कंज्यूमर प्रोटेक्शन एक्ट 2019 के कई प्रावधानों के बारे में नोटिफिकेशन जारी किया

• उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम, 2019 20 जुलाई, 2020 से लागू हो गया है, जैसे कि, केंद्रीय उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री, राम विलास पासवान ने कहा कि नया कानून उपभोक्ताओं को सशक्त करेगा।
• नया कानून अपने अधिसूचित नियमों और उपभोक्ता विवाद निवारण आयोगों, उपभोक्ता संरक्षण परिषदों, उत्पाद देयता, मध्यस्थता, और मिलावटी सामान रखने वाले उत्पादों के निर्माण या बिक्री के लिए सजा जैसे नियमों और प्रावधानों के माध्यम से उपभोक्ताओं के अधिकारों की रक्षा करेगा।

उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम 2019 की मुख्य विशेषताएं

• उपभोक्ताओं के अधिकारों को बढ़ावा देने, उनकी सुरक्षा करने और उन्हें लागू करने के लिए केंद्रीय उपभोक्ता संरक्षण प्राधिकरण (CCPA) की स्थापना।
• उपभोक्ता संरक्षण परिषदों की स्थापना
• सरलीकृत विवाद समाधान प्रक्रिया
• उपभोक्ता आयोगों से संपर्क करने में आसानी
• निवास / कार्य के स्थान से फाइलिंग
• सुनवाई के लिए वीडियो कांफ्रेंसिंग
• 5 लाख रुपये तक के मामले दर्ज करने के लिए कोई शुल्क नहीं।
• मध्यस्थता का वैकल्पिक विवाद समाधान तंत्र
• उत्पाद दायित्व की अवधारणा का परिचय
• एक निर्माता या उत्पाद सेवा प्रदाता या उत्पाद विक्रेता को दोषपूर्ण उत्पाद या सेवाओं में कमी के कारण हुई क्षति या क्षति की क्षतिपूर्ति करने के लिए जिम्मेदार होना
• ई-कॉमर्स और डायरेक्ट सेलिंग पर नियम
• उत्पादों / मिलावटी सामानों में मिलावट के लिए जुर्माना

• एम्स दिल्ली ने स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित COVAXIN के मानव परीक्षण के लिए पंजीकरण प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है -
• AIIMS- दिल्ली भारतीय चिकित्सा अनुसंधान परिषद (ICMR) द्वारा चरण I और चरण II मानव परीक्षणों के COVAXIN के संचालन के लिए चुने गए 12 संस्थानों में से एक है। चरण I मानव परीक्षणों में लगभग 375 स्वयंसेवकों के शामिल होने की संभावना है, जिनमें से लगभग 100 एम्स के होंगे। 

2019 में भारतीय प्रत्यक्ष बिक्री उद्योग का रिकॉर्ड 2.477 बीएन बिक्री , जो वैश्विक स्तर पर 15 वें स्थान पर

• वर्ल्ड फेडरेशन ऑफ़ डायरेक्ट सेलिंग एसोसिएशन (डब्ल्यूएफडीएसए) द्वारा "द ग्लोबल डायरेक्ट सेलिंग - 2019 रिटेल सेल्स" की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, 2019 में 2.477 बिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर की बिक्री के साथ भारत वैश्विक डायरेक्ट सेलिंग उद्योग में 15 वें स्थान पर था।
• इसने 2018 में 19 वीं रैंक की तुलना में 12.1% की वृद्धि दर्शाई है। इस रैंकिंग में संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका (यूएस) ने शीर्ष स्थान हासिल किया है, जिसने 35.21 बिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर की बिक्री के साथ वैश्विक प्रत्यक्ष बिक्री उद्योग में 20% का योगदान दिया, जिसके बाद चीन का स्थान है। दूसरी रैंक पर 13% योगदान के साथ, और कोरिया और जर्मनी 10% योगदान के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर हैं।
• प्रत्यक्ष विक्रेताओं की संख्या के मामले में, भारत को 6 वें स्थान पर रखा गया है, जिससे 57.50 लाख लोगों को रोजगार मिला है। एशिया प्रशांत क्षेत्र में, भारत चौथे स्थान पर था।

मोरिसाना कॉयेट और मारियाना वर्दिनॉयनिस बने 2020 नेल्सन मंडेला पुरस्कार विजेता

गिनीयन डॉक्टर मोरिसाना कॉयेट और ग्रीस की मारियाना वर्दिनॉयनिस को 2020 नेल्सन मंडेला पुरस्कार विजेता चुने गये हैं। संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा के अध्यक्ष तिजानी मुहम्मद-बंदे ने पुरस्कार के विजेताओं की घोषणा की है, जो उन व्यक्तियों को सम्मानित करने के लिए दिया जाता है, जो मानवता की सेवा के लिए अपना जीवन समर्पित करते हैं।

मोरिसाना  कॉयेट (Morissana Kouyate) के बारे में:

कॉयेट, अफ्रीका में महिलाओं के खिलाफ हिंसा को समाप्त करने के प्रयासों में एक अग्रणी व्यक्ति हैं, जिसमें फीमेल जेनिटल म्यूटिलेशन (FGM) भी शामिल है। उन्हें अपने काम के लिए कई अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानवीय पुरस्कार मिले हैं।

मरियाना वर्दिनॉयनिस ( Marianna Vardinoyannis) के बारे में:

वर्दिनॉयनिस पिछले 30 वर्षों से बच्चों को होने वाले कैंसर के खिलाफ लड़ाई में शामिल हैं और उनकी मेहनत से हजारों बच्चे ठीक हो चुके हैं।

मध्य प्रदेश के राज्यपाल लालजी टंडन का निधन

मध्य प्रदेश के राज्यपाल और लखनऊ से पूर्व सांसद लालजी टंडन (Lal Ji Tandon) का निधन हो गया। वह 85 वर्ष के थे। लखनऊ के मेदांता में उनका इलाज चल रहा था! उनके बेटे और कैबिनेट मंत्री आशुतोष टण्डन (Ashutosh Tondon) ने लालजी टंडन के निधन की जानकारी ट्वीटर के माध्यम से दी। आशुतोष टंडन ने ट्वीटर पर लिखा बाबू जी नहीं रहे।  लालजी टण्डन (Lal Ji Tandon) पिछले काफी वक्त से गंभीर रूप से बीमार चल रहे थे। लखनऊ के मेदांता में वह 14 जून से भर्ती थे।

महामारी के कारण प्रतिष्ठित बैलन डि ओर अवॉर्ड रद्द

दुनियाभर में फैल चुके घातक वायरस के चलते फुटबॉल सत्र बाधित होने के कारण इस साल प्रतिष्ठित बैलन डि ओर अवॉर्ड नहीं दिए जाएंगे। यह पुरस्कार फ्रांस की फुटबॉल पत्रिका बैलन डि ओर की ओर से हर साल दिए जाते हैं।

साल 1956 में पहली बार स्टेनली मैथ्यूज को यह अवॉर्ड दिया गया था और तब से हर वर्ष यह पुरस्कार दिया जाता है। अर्जेंटीना के स्टार फुटबॉलर लियोनल मेसी ने रेकॉर्ड छह बार यह पुरस्कार जीता है जबकि उनके प्रतिद्वंद्वी पुर्तगाल के क्रिस्टियानो रोनाल्डो पांच बार इस पुरस्कार को अपने नाम कर चुके हैं। 

ICC मेन्स T20 वर्ल्ड कप 2020 स्थगित

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद (ICC) ने आधिकारिक तौर पर 20 जुलाई, 2020 को पुष्टि की कि चल रहे C-19 के कारण ICC मेन्‍स का T20 विश्व कप जो ऑस्ट्रेलिया 2020 मे आयोजित किया जाना था स्थगित कर दिया गया है। टी 20 विश्व कप अब अक्टूबर 2021 में आयोजित होने की संभावना है।
• ICC ने मौजूदा पुनर्निर्धारण का समर्थन करने के लिए दो अन्य ICC पुरुषों की घटनाओं को स्थगित करने का भी फैसला किया, जिसमें पुरुषों का T20 विश्व कप 2022 और विश्व कप 2023 शामिल है।

अश्विनी कुमार तिवारी बनाए गए SBI कार्ड के नए एमडी और सीईओ

SBI कार्ड्स और पेमेंट सर्विसेज द्वारा अश्विनी कुमार तिवारी को अपना नया प्रबंध निदेशक और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी नियुक्त किया गया है। 1 अगस्त, 2020 से शुरू होने वाला उनका कार्यकाल दो साल की अवधि का होगा। उन्हें इस पद के लिए भारतीय स्टेट बैंक द्वारा नामित किया गया था।

तिवारी की नियुक्ति वर्तमान MD और CEO, हरदयाल प्रसाद के इस्तीफे के बाद की गई, जिन्होंने स्टेट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया से अपनी स्वैच्छिक सेवानिवृत्ति के कारण कंपनी के निदेशक पद से हटने का फैसला किया था।

अपराध लेखक(Crime writer), एस हुसैन जैदी ने एक नया उपन्यास "द एंडगेम" लिखा है, जो राजनीति, विश्वासघात और अकल्पनीय आतंक पर आधारित है। पुस्तक को हार्पर कॉलिन्स इंडिया द्वारा प्रकाशित किया गया है। "द एंडगेम" पाठकों को काम पर जटिल राजनीतिक मशीनरी का क्लोज-अप देता है, जिसमें राज्य सुरक्षा, रक्षा सेवाएं, और खुफिया एजेंसियां जैसे -एक्सप्लोसिव क्लाइमेक्स तक सभी शामिल हैं।

Consumer Protection Act, 2019 Comes into Force from 20 July 2020

• The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 has come into force from July 20, 2020, as the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan stated that the new law will empower the consumers.
• The new law will protect the rights of the consumers through its notified rules and provisions like consumer disputes redressal commissions, consumer protection councils, product liability, mediation, and punishment for the manufacture or sale of products that contain adulterant goods.

 AIIMS Delhi begins registration for conducting human trials of COVAXIN

• AIIMS Delhi has begun the registration process for conducting human trials of the indigenously developed Chinese virus vaccine- COVAXIN
• AIIMS-Delhi is one of the 12 institutes chosen by the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) to conduct phase I and phase II human trials of COVAXIN. The phase I human trials is likely to involve around 375 volunteers, among whom about 100 would be from AIIMs. 

Indian direct selling industry records USD 2.477 bn sales in 2019, ranked 15th globally

• In accordance with the report of “The Global Direct Selling – 2019 Retail Sales” by the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA), India was ranked 15th in global direct selling industry with sales of USD 2.477 billion in 2019.
• This has shown a growth of 12.1% in comparison to the 19th rank in 2018. The ranking has been topped by the United States (US) which contributed 20% of the global direct selling industry with sales of USD 35.21 billion, followed by China with 13% contribution at 2nd rank, and Korea and Germany with 10% contribution each at 3rd position.
• In terms of the number of direct sellers, India has been ranked at 6th position, proving employment to 57.50 lakh people.In Asia Pacific region, India was ranked 4th which has been topped by Australia and followed by China and Hong Kong at 2nd and 3rd rank.

Morissana Kouyate and Marianna Vardinoyanniswins 2020 Nelson Mandela Prize

• Guinean doctor Morissana Kouyate and Marianna Vardinoyannis of Greece are the winners of the 2020 Nelson Mandela Prize. The President of the United Nations General Assembly, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande has made the announcement of the winners of the award which recognizes persons who dedicate their lives to the service of humanity.
• The Nelson Mandela Prize, which is awarded every five years and recognizes those who dedicate their lives to the service of humanity, by promoting the purposes and principles of the United Nations, while honouring Nelson Mandela’s life, and legacy of reconciliation, political transition, and social transformation. The Mandela Prize was established by a UN General Assembly resolution in June 2014.

MP Governor Lalji Tandon passes away

• Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon passed away. He was undergoing treatment since June 11 and passed away after a prolonged illness.
• Due to MP Governor Lalji Tondon illness and his subsequent hospitalization, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has been given additional charge of Madhya Pradesh as well as interim Governor.

Ballon d'Or 2020 cancelled for first-ever time

• Ballon d'Or will not be awarded this year due to lack of sufficient fair conditions amid C-19, announced France Football on July 20, 2020.
• France Football released an official statement, which read that the Ballon d'Or France Football will not be awarded in 2020 for the first time in its history due to lack of sufficient fair conditions under exceptional circumstances and exceptional provisions. 

ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2020 postponed

• The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially confirmed on July 20, 2020 that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held Australia 2020 has been postponed due to the ongoing C-19. The T20 World Cup is now likely to be held in October 2021.
• The ICC also decided to postpone two other ICC Men's events to support the current rescheduling, including Men's T20 World Cup 2022 and World Cup 2023.

• SBI Cards and Payment Services has appointed Ashwini Kumar Tewari as its new Managing Director and chief executive officer. The new appointment will be valid for two years and his appointment will come into effect from August 1, 2020.
• He was nominated by parent State Bank of India for the position.
