माइया सैंडू ने जीता माल्डोवा के राष्ट्रपति पद का चुनाव

• माइया सैंडू ने हाल के चुनावों में इगोर डोडन को हराकर माल्डोवा का राष्ट्रपति चुनाव जीत लिया है। सैंडू ने डोडन के 42.2% की तुलना में 57.7% वोट हासिल किए।
• सैंडू विश्व बैंक की पूर्व अर्थशास्त्री है, जिनके यूरोपीय संघ के साथ घनिष्ठ संबंध है। जबकि डोडन को रूस द्वारा खुले तौर पर समर्थन प्राप्त है।

डॉ हर्षवर्धन ने 33 वें स्टॉप टीबी पार्टनरशिप बोर्ड को संबोधित किया

• केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री डॉ हर्षवर्धन ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के माध्यम से नई दिल्ली में 33 वीं स्टॉप टीबी पार्टनरशिप बोर्ड की बैठक को संबोधित किया। बैठक के दौरान, मंत्री ने रणनीतिक रूप से वकालत, विचार नेतृत्व, विघटनकारी सामाजिक उद्यमिता, शक्तिशाली, सामाजिक और राजनीतिक प्रतिबद्धता के साथ टीबी के उन्मूलन के लिए एक जन आंदोलन बनाने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया।
• यह ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए कि भारत 2030 के वैश्विक लक्ष्य से पांच साल पहले 2025 तक टीबी से संबंधित सतत विकास लक्ष्य प्राप्त करने के लिए "टीबी हारेगा, देश जीतेगा" अभियान चला रहा है।

 विजयनगर कर्नाटक का 31 वां जिला बना

• विजयनगर साम्राज्य की पूर्ववर्ती राजधानी हम्पी का विश्व विरासत स्थल जल्द ही एक नए जिले का हिस्सा होगा। कर्नाटक सरकार ने विजयनगर को राज्य के एक नए जिले के रूप में बनाने की मंजूरी दी है।
• विजयनगर राज्य का 31 वां जिला होगा। नए जिले को बल्लारी से उकेरा जाएगा और विजयनगर साम्राज्य के नाम पर रखा जाएगा जिसने इस क्षेत्र से शासन किया था।

 नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने PM-FME के क्षमता निर्माण घटक का किया उद्घाटन

• केंद्रीय खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग नरेन्द्र सिंह तोमर ने प्रधानमंत्री सूक्ष्म खाद्य उद्योग उन्नयन योजना (PM-FME Scheme) के क्षमता निर्माण घटक के लिए मास्टर ट्रेनर्स प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन किया है। PM-FME योजना को 2020-21 से 2024-25 तक पांच वर्षों की अवधि के लिए 10,000 करोड़ रुपये के परिव्यय के साथ शुरू किया जाएगा। इसके अलावा उन्होंने भारत के GIS 'एक जिला-एक उत्पाद योजना' (One District One Product) डिजिटल मैप का भी अनावरण किया।
• यह घटक खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्यमियों, विभिन्न समूहों, स्वयं सहायता समूहों (एसएचजी), किसान उत्पादक संगठनों (एफपीओ), सहकारी समितियों, श्रमिकों और अन्य हितधारकों को पीएम-एफएमई योजना के कार्यान्वयन से संबंधित प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करने की परिकल्पना करता है।
• मास्टर ट्रेनरों को ऑनलाइन मोड, क्लासरूम लेक्चर, प्रदर्शन और ऑनलाइन पाठ्य सामग्री के माध्यम से प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया जाएगा।
• मास्टर ट्रेनर तब जिला-स्तरीय प्रशिक्षकों को प्रशिक्षित करेंगे, जो अंततः लाभार्थियों को प्रशिक्षित करेंगे।

MPL स्पोर्ट्स होगा BCCI का आधिकारिक किट स्पोंसर

• भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (Board of Control for Cricket in India) ने मोबाइल प्रीमियर लीग (MPL) स्पोर्ट्स के साथ साझेदारी करने की घोषणा की है, जो कि मोबाइल प्रीमियर लीग, भारत के सबसे बड़े एस्कॉर्ट प्लेटफॉर्म, मोबाइल किट प्रायोजक और भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के लिए आधिकारिक उत्पाद साझेदार के रूप में एथलेटिक वियर और स्पोर्ट्स मर्चेंडाइज ब्रांड है।
• एमपीएल स्पोर्ट्स ने नवंबर 2020 से दिसंबर 2023 तक तीन साल के लिए समझौता किया है।
• BCCI के साथ MPL स्पोर्ट्स की साझेदारी आगामी भारत के ऑस्ट्रेलिया दौरे, जो 2020-21 से शुरू हो रहा है, जिसमें टीम इंडिया नई जर्सी में खेलती हुई दिखाई देगी।
• नए किट के लिए सीनियर पुरुष और महिला और अंडर -19 टीमें भी सौदे का हिस्सा हैं।
• टीम इंडिया की जर्सी के अलावा, एमपीएल स्पोर्ट्स लाइसेंस प्राप्त टीम इंडिया का समान भी बेचेगा।
• एमपीएल स्पोर्ट्स सस्ती कीमतों पर प्रशंसकों को जर्सी और टीम इंडिया की अपनी विस्तृत श्रृंखला की पेशकश करेगा।

 C-19 के कारण रद्द किया गया फीफा U17 महिला विश्व कप 2021

• वर्ष 2021 U-17 महिला विश्व कप, जिसे भारत में आयोजित किया जाना था, महामारी के कारण रद्द कर दिया गया है। साथ ही यह भी निर्धारित किया गया है कि भारत अगले साल यानि 2022 विश्व कप के संस्करण की मेजबानी करेगा। इससे पहले फीफा ने इस टूर्नामेंट महामारी के कारण स्थगित करने का फैसला किया था।
• फीफा ने इससे पहले टूर्नामेंट को भारत में 2021 में फरवरी और मार्च में आयोजित करने के लिए निर्धारित किया था। U17 संस्करण के साथ 2020 का U20 महिला विश्व कप भी रद्द कर दिया गया है। जबकि कोस्टा रिका को 2022 U20 महिला विश्व कप की मेजबानी करने का मौका दिया जाएगा।
• टूर्नामेंट के लिए पांच शहरों को मेजबान शहरों के रूप में चुना गया था - भुवनेश्वर का कलिंगा स्टेडियम, कोलकाता का विवेकानंद युबा भारती क्रीड़ांगन (VYBK), गुवाहाटी का इंदिरा गांधी एथलेटिक स्टेडियम, अहमदाबाद का EE एरेना और नवी मुंबई का DY पाटिल स्टेडियम।

 सम्‍मेलन एवं समझौते

DIPAM ने विश्व बैंक के साथ किया समझौता

• निवेश और सार्वजनिक संपत्ति प्रबंधन विभाग (Department of Investment and Public Asset Management) ने संपत्ति के विमुद्रीकरण के लिए डीआईपीएएम को सलाहकार सेवाएं प्रदान करने के लिए विश्व बैंक के साथ एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। DIPAM को रणनीतिक विनिवेश या बंद करने और 100 करोड़ और उससे अधिक के शत्रु संपत्ति के तहत सरकारी CPSEs की गैर-मुख्य परिसंपत्तियों के मुद्रीकरण की सुविधा के साथ अनिवार्य किया गया है। डीआईपीएएम के पास गैर-प्रमुख परिसंपत्तियों के मुद्रीकरण के लिए एक रूपरेखा है।
• विश्व बैंक की सलाहकार परियोजना, जिसे वित्त मंत्री द्वारा अनुमोदित किया गया है, जिसका उद्देश्य भारत में सार्वजनिक संपत्ति के मुद्रीकरण का विश्लेषण करना है और इसके क्रियान्वयन के लिए परिचालन दिशानिर्देशों और क्षमता निर्माण के विकास का समर्थन करने के साथ-साथ अंतरराष्ट्रीय सर्वोत्तम प्रथाओं के खिलाफ अपने संस्थागत और व्यावसायिक मॉडल को बेंचमार्क करना है।

भारत के परम सिद्धि को विश्व के सबसे शक्तिशाली सुपर कंप्यूटरों में मिला 63 वां स्थान

• विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग (डीएसटी) के अनुसार भारतीय सुपर कंप्यूटर परम सिद्धि ने दुनिया के 500 सबसे शक्तिशाली सुपर कंप्यूटरों की सूची में 63 वां रैंक हासिल किया है। परम सिद्धी C-DAC में नेशनल सुपरकंप्यूटिंग मिशन (NSM) के तहत स्थापित हाई-पर्फोमिंग कंप्यूटिंग-आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (HPC-AI) सुपरकंप्यूटर है। दुनिया के शीर्ष 500 नॉन-डिस्ट्रीब्यूटेड कंप्यूटर सिस्टम को रैंक करने वाली शीर्ष 500 परियोजना को वर्ष में दो बार प्रकाशित किया जाता है।
• इनमें से पहला अपडेट हमेशा जून में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सुपरकंप्यूटिंग सम्मेलन में जारी किया है, और दूसरा नवंबर में ACM / IEEE सुपरकंप्यूटिंग सम्मेलन में प्रस्तुत किया जाता है।
• AI सिस्टम एडवांस मेटेरिअल, कम्प्यूटेशनल रसायन विज्ञान और खगोल भौतिकी जैसे क्षेत्रों में पैकेज, और ड्रग डिजाइन और निवारक स्वास्थ्य देखभाल प्रणाली के लिए प्लेटफॉर्म पर मिशन के तहत विकसित किए जा रहे कई पैकेज बाढ़-प्रभावित मेट्रो शहरों जैसे मुंबई, दिल्ली, चेन्नई, पटना और गुवाहाटी के लिए बाढ़ पूर्वानुमान पैकेज के एप्लीकेशन विकास को मजबूत बनाएगा।

 बैंकिंग और अर्थव्‍यवस्‍था

बार्कलेज ने वित्त वर्ष 21 में भारत की GDP -6.4% रहने का जताया अनुमान

• बार्कलेज (Barclays) ने चालू वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 में भारत के लिए जारी अपने जीडीपी के पूर्वानुमान को -6% के अपने पूर्व अनुमान से संशोधित कर -6.4% कर दिया है।
• हालांकि , बार्कलेज ने वित्त वर्ष 2021-22 की वृद्धि के लिए जारी अपने पूर्वानुमान को 7 प्रतिशत से बढ़ाकर 8.5 प्रतिशत कर दिया है। 

कर्नाटक बैंक ने शुरू किया CASA अभियान

• कर्नाटक बैंक ने CASA (करंट अकाउंट & सेविंग अकाउंट) को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए अभियान शुरू किया है, जो 17 नवंबर से 4 मार्च, 2021 तक चलाया जाएगा। बैंक द्वारा जारी एक बयान में कहा गया कि इस अभियान का 4.10 लाख से अधिक चालू और बचत खातों से 650 करोड़ रुपए का कारोबार जुटाना है। इस अभियान के साथ, बैंक अपने ग्राहकों को डिजिटल रूप से संचालित बचत और चालू खाता उत्पादों की अपनी आकर्षक और बेहतर सेवा पेश करने का इरादा रखता है।
• समुदाय के बैंक (बैंकिंग या बैंकिंग संस्थानों का उपयोग नहीं) के बुनियादी बैंकिंग सेवाओं को सक्षम करने के लिए।
• अपनी आवश्यकताओं के आधार पर ग्राहकों के अगले स्तर तक बैंक के डिजिटल रूप से संचालित CASA उत्पादों को लोकप्रिय बनाने के लिए।

Maia Sandu Wins Moldova Presidential Election

• Maia Sandu has won Moldova’s presidential election after a run-off vote against the incumbent Igor Dodon. Ms Sandu has won 57.7% of the vote compared to Mr Dodon’s 42.2%.
• Sandu is a former World Bank economist who favours closer ties with the European Union. Mr Dodon, meanwhile, is openly backed by Russia.

 NATIONAL

Dr Harsh Vardhan addresses 33rd Stop TB Partnership Board meet

• The Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has addressed the 33rd Stop TB Partnership Board meeting in New Delhi through Video Conference. During the meet, the minister has stressed on the need to create a mass movement for the elimination of TB with strategized advocacy, thought leadership, disruptive social entrepreneurship, powerful, societal and political commitment.
• It must be noted that India is running the “TB Harega, Desh Jeetega” campaign that targets to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal target related to TB by 2025, five years ahead of the global target of 2030.

 Vijayanagara becomes 31st District of Karnataka

• The world heritage site of Hampi, the erstwhile capital of the Vijayanagar empire, will soon be part of a new district. The Karnataka Government has approved to carve out Vijayanagara as a new district of the state.
• Vijayanagara will be the 31st district of the State. The new district would be carved out of Ballari and named after the Vijayanagara empire that ruled from this region.

Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurates capacity building component of PM-FME

• Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Narendra Singh Tomar has virtually inaugurated the capacity building component of the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises scheme (PM-FME Scheme). PM-FME Scheme has been launched with an outlay of Rs 10,000 crore for a period of five years from 2020-21 to 2024-25. He also launched the GIS One District One Product (ODOP) digital map of India.
• The component envisages imparting training to food processing entrepreneurs, various groups, viz., self-help groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Co-operatives, workers, and other stakeholders associated with the implementation of the PM-FME scheme.
• Training would be given to the master trainers through online mode, classroom lecture and demonstration, and self-paced online learning material.
• The master trainers will then train the district-level trainers, who will eventually train the beneficiaries.

BCCI announces MPL Sports as Official Kit Sponsor

• The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced its partnership with Mobile Premier League (MPL) Sports, the athleisure wear and sports merchandise brand from Mobile Premier League, India’s largest esports platform, as the new kit sponsor and official merchandise partner for the Indian Cricket Team.
• MPL Sports has entered into a three-year agreement from November 2020 to December 2023.
• MPL Sports’ association with the BCCI begins with upcoming India’s tour of Australia, 2020-21, which will see Team India sporting the new jerseys.
• The senior men and women and the Under-19 teams are also a part of the deal for the new kits.
• Apart from Team India jerseys, MPL Sports will also sell licensed Team India merchandise.
• MPL Sports will offer the jerseys and its wide range of Team India merchandise to fans at affordable prices.

 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup 2021 cancelled

• The 2021 U-17 Women’s World Cup, which was scheduled to be held in India, has been cancelled due to the C-19 pandemic. It has also been decided that India will host the 2022 edition of the World Cup. The tournament was supposed to be held in November 2020 initially, only for the pandemic to force a postponement.
• FIFA then revised the schedule and the tournament was to be held in February and March in 2021 in India. The 2020 U20 Women’s World Cup has also been cancelled along with the U17 edition. While Costa Rica will get the chance to host the 2022 U20 Women’s World Cup.
• Five venues had been selected as host cities for the tournament – the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) in Kolkata, Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati, EKA Arena in Ahmedabad and the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

DIPAM inks agreement with World Bank

• Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) has signed an agreement with the World Bank, to provide advisory services to DIPAM for asset monetization. DIPAM is mandated with facilitating monetization of non-core assets of government CPSEs under strategic disinvestment or closure and enemy property of the value of 100 crore and above. DIPAM has a framework for monetizing non-core assets.
• The World Bank advisory project, approved by the Finance Minister, is aimed at analyzing public asset monetization in India and benchmarking its institutional and business models against international best practices as well as supporting the development of operational guidelines and capacity building for their implementation.

 RANKING

India’s Param Siddhi ranked 63rd in most powerful supercomputers

• According to the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Indian supercomputer, Param Siddhi has achieved 63rd rank in the list of 500 most powerful supercomputers in the world. Param Siddhi is the high-performance computing-artificial intelligence (HPC-AI) supercomputer established under National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) at C-DAC. The Top 500 project which ranks the top 500 non-distributed computer systems in the world is published twice a year.
• The first of these updates always coincides with the International Supercomputing Conference in June, and the second is presented at the ACM/IEEE Supercomputing Conference in November.
• The AI system will strengthen application development of packages in areas such as advanced materials, computational chemistry & astrophysics, and several packages being developed under the mission on the platform for drug design and preventive health care system, flood forecasting package for flood-prone metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Patna and Guwahati.

 BANKING AND ECONOMY

Barclays Projects India’s GDP at -6.4% in FY21

• Barclays has revised down its GDP forecast for India in the current fiscal year 2020-21 (FY21) to – 6.4% from its earlier estimate of – 6%.
• However, Barclays has raised its FY22 (2021-22) growth forecast to 8.5 per cent from 7 per cent.

 Karnataka Bank launches CASA campaign

• Karnataka Bank launched CASA (current account, savings account) mobilisation campaign which will run from November 17 to March 4, 2021. The bank stated that it intends to mobilise over 4.10 lakh current and savings accounts with an accretion of 650 crores of business. With this campaign, the bank intends to introduce its attractive and superior line of digitally powered savings and current account products to its customers.
• To enable the basic banking services to the unbanked(not use banks or banking institutions) sections of the society.
• To popularize bank’s digitally powered CASA products to the next level of customers on the basis of their requirements.
