दुबई में विकसित किया जा रहा है अरब खाड़ी का पहला कोयला आधारित पॉवर प्लांट

• अरब खाड़ी देश का पहला कोयला-आधारित पावर प्लांट, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात, दुबई के सआह शोएब में स्थापित किया जा रहा है। 2,400 मेगावाट हसायन क्लीन कोयला पॉवर स्टेशन कुल 3.4 बिलियन डॉलर की अनुमानित लागत पर स्थापित किया जाएगा।
• इस परियोजना में प्रत्येक 600MW की चार इकाइयाँ शामिल होंगी, जिनके क्रमशः 2020, 2021, 2022 और 2023 में परिचालन शुरू होने की उम्मीद है। पावर प्लांट से लगभग 250,000 घरों को पर्याप्त बिजली आपूर्ति करने की उम्मीद है।

नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने 5 राज्यों में हनी FPO कार्यक्रम का किया शुभारंभ

• केंद्रीय कृषि और किसान कल्याण मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने शहद उत्पादन के लिए पांच राज्यों में हनी फार्मर प्रोड्यूसर ऑर्गनाइजेशन (FPO) प्रोग्राम का उद्घाटन किया। हनी एफपीओ कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य मधुमक्खी पालन उद्योग के मुद्दों का समाधान करना है और देश में शहद उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देना है। इससे किसान की आय बढ़ाने के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने में भी मदद मिलेगी।
• इन 5 एफपीओ को नेशनल एग्रीकल्चरल कोऑपरेटिव मार्केटिंग फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड (NAFED) द्वारा स्थापित किया जाएगा। इनकी स्थापना की जाएगी

• नए 10,000 एफपीओ के गठन और संवर्धन के लिए केंद्रीय क्षेत्र योजना के तहत हनी एफपीओ कार्यक्रम शुरू किया गया है।
• सरकार ने चालू वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 के लिए 2,200 एफपीओ को मंजूरी दी है।
• इन एफपीओ को बनाने का काम नाबार्ड (600 एफपीओ), छोटे किसानों के कृषि व्यवसाय कंसोर्टियम (500), राष्ट्रीय सहकारी विकास निगम (500) और नेफेड को दिया गया है जो 50 विशिष्ट एफपीओ और कुछ राज्य-स्तरीय संगठनों का सहयोग करेंगे।

लुईस हैमिल्टन ने जीता बहरीन ग्रैंड प्रिक्स 2020 खिताब

• लुईस हैमिल्टन (मर्सिडीज-ग्रेट ब्रिटेन) ने बहरीन के बहरीन इंटरनेशनल सर्किट में आयोजित रेस 2020 बहरीन ग्रैंड प्रिक्स जीत ली है। यह रेस 2020 फॉर्मूला वन वर्ल्ड चैम्पियनशिप की पंद्रहवीं रेस थी। इस सीजन की हैमिल्टन की यह 11 वीं जीत और उनके करियर की 95 वीं F1 जीत है।
• इस जीत के साथ अब हैमिल्टन ने फॉर्मूला वन इतिहास में सबसे अधिक जीत (95) दर्ज करने का रिकॉर्ड बना दिया है। रेड बुल रेसिंग टीम मेंबर मैक्स वेरस्टैपेन (नीदरलैंड्स) और अलेक्जेंडर एल्बोन (थाईलैंड) क्रमशः दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर रहे।

 विराट कोहली बने सबसे तेज 22,000 अंतरराष्ट्रीय रन बनाने वाले खिलाड़ी

• भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के कप्तान विराट कोहली ने खेल में एक और नया रिकॉर्ड बनाया। वे सचिन तेंदुलकर का रिकॉर्ड तोड़कर 22,000 रन पूरे करने वाले सबसे तेज बल्लेबाज बन गए। उन्होंने अपनी 462 वीं पारी में इस मुकाम को हासिल किया, जिसके लिए तेंदुलकर ने 493 पारी खेली थी। उनके बाद ब्रायन लारा (511 पारी) और रिकी पोंटिंग (514 पारी) हैं। सभी फोर्मट्स में 50 से अधिक की औसत के साथ एकमात्र बल्लेबाज, कोहली ने टेस्ट में 7240 रन, वनडे में 12834 रन और T20 में 2794 रन बनाए है।
• कोहली ने यह उपलब्धि एससीजी में ऑस्ट्रेलिया और भारत के बीच दूसरे वनडे के दौरान हासिल की। इस रिकॉर्ड के साथ-साथ कोहली 22,000 अंतरराष्ट्रीय रन बनाने वाले आठवें बल्लेबाज और तीसरे भारतीय बल्लेबाज बन गए हैं। 24208 रन बनाने वाले राहुल द्रविड़ इस सूची में दूसरे भारतीय बल्लेबाज हैं।

सेनेगल को विश्व कप में जीत दिलाने वाले फुटबॉलर पापा बोउबा डोप का निधन

• वर्ष 2002 के फीफा विश्व कप मैच में देश को जीत दिलाने में अहम भूमिका निभाने वाले सेनेगल के पेशेवर फुटबॉलर पापा बोउआ डोप (Papa Bouba Diop) का निधन। वह 42 वर्ष की आयु के थे।
• उनके गोल ने सेनेगल को 2002 फीफा विश्व कप के उद्घाटन मैच में तत्कालीन विश्व चैंपियन फ्रांस पर 1-0 की जीत हासिल करने और फीफा विश्व कप में सेनेगल को पहला मैच जीतने में मदद की थी। डोप ने सेनेगल के लिए 63 कैप जीते थे।

विश्व एड्स दिवस: 01 दिसंबर

• प्रति वर्ष 1 दिसंबर को दुनिया भर में विश्व एड्स दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। यह दिन दुनिया भर के लोगों को एचआईवी के खिलाफ लड़ाई में एकजुट होने, एचआईवी से पीड़ित लोगों के लिए समर्थन दिखाने और उन लोगों को याद करने का अवसर प्रदान करता है जो एड्स से संबंधित बीमारी से अपनी जान गवा चुके हैं। इस वर्ष के विश्व एड्स दिवस की थीम है “Global solidarity, shared responsibility”.
• वर्ष 2020 में, दुनिया का ध्यान C-19 महामारी से स्वास्थ्य पड़े पर प्रभाव पर केंद्रित है कि किस प्रकार महामारी जीवन और आजीविका को प्रभावित करती है। C-19 में एक बार फिर देखा गया है कि कैसे असमानता को कम करने, मानवाधिकारों, लैंगिक समानता, सामाजिक संरक्षण और आर्थिक विकास जैसे अन्य महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों के साथ स्वास्थ्य का मुद्दा जुड़ा हुआ है।

 BSF का 56 वां स्थापना दिवस: 1 दिसंबर

• सीमा सुरक्षा बल (Border Security Force) द्वारा 01 दिसंबर 2020 को अपना 56 वां स्थापना दिवस मनाया जा रहा है। भारत-पाकिस्तान और भारत-चीन युद्धों के बाद, बीएसएफ का गठन 1 दिसंबर, 1965 को एक एकीकृत केंद्रीय एजेंसी के रूप में किया गया था, ताकि भारत की सीमाएँ और उससे जुड़े मामलों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित की जा सके।
• यह भारत के पांच केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों में से एक है और दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा सीमा सुरक्षा बल है। बीएसएफ को भारतीय क्षेत्रों की "रक्षा की पहली दीवार" का कहा जाता है।

 फिलीस्तीनी लोगों के साथ एकजुटता का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस: 29 नवंबर

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा प्रति वर्ष 29 नवंबर को International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People यानि फिलिस्तीनी लोगों के साथ एकजुटता का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। यह दिन प्रस्ताव 181 की वर्षगांठ पर मनाया जाता है, जिसमें महासभा ने 29 नवंबर, 1947 को फिलिस्तीन के विभाजन पर संकल्प को अपनाया था।
• संयुक्त राष्ट्र आम सभा ने 1977 में 29 नवंबर को प्रत्येक वर्ष फिलीस्‍तीनी लोगों के साथ अंतर्राष्‍ट्रीय एकजुटता दिवस के रूप में मनाने की घोषणा की थी। इसी दिन 1947 में महासभा ने फिलिस्तीन के विभाजन के प्रस्ताव को अपनाया था। इस तारीख को फिलिस्तीनी लोगों के लिए इसके अर्थ और महत्व के कारण चुना गया था, जो कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा के फिलिस्तीन के विभाजन प्रस्ताव पर आधारित एक वार्षिक दिवस है।

 समझौते एवं सम्‍मेलन

भारत और फिनलैंड ने पर्यावरण संरक्षण के क्षेत्र में सहयोग विकसित करने के लिए मिलाया हाथ

• भारत और फिनलैंड ने पर्यावरण और जैवविविधता संरक्षण के क्षेत्र में सहयोग विकसित करने के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए है। एमओयू पर भारतीय की ओर से पर्यावरण मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर और फिनलैंड की पर्यावरण तथा जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री कृस्‍टा मिक्‍कोनेन ने वीडियो-कांफ्रेसिंग के जरिए हस्ताक्षर किए।
• इस समझौता ज्ञापन से प्रौद्योगिकी, वैज्ञानिक तथा प्रबंधन क्षमताएं मजबूत होंगी और गुणवत्‍ता आदान-प्रदान तथा पारस्‍परिक लाभ के आधार पर सतत विकास को प्रोत्‍साहित करने के काम को ध्‍यान में रखते हुए पर्यावरण तथा जैवविविधता के क्षेत्र में द्विपक्षीय सहयोग विकसित होगा।
• यह समझौता ज्ञापन भारत और फिनलैंड की साझेदारी और समर्थन, वायु तथा जल प्रदूषण की रोकथाम,अपशिष्‍ट प्रबंधन, सहित प्राकृतिक संसाधनों के सतत प्रबंधन जैसे क्षेत्रों में श्रेष्‍ठ व्‍यवहारों के आदान-प्रदान को प्रोत्‍साहित करेगा।

• एशियाई विकास बैंक (ADB) ने Regional फ्यूचर ऑफ रीजनल कोऑपरेशन इन एशिया एंड द पैसिफिक ’नामक एक नई पुस्तक जारी की है।
• यह पुस्तक इस बात की अंतर्दृष्टि प्रदान करती है कि स्वास्थ्य, व्यापार, वित्त और आपदा जोखिम सहित क्षेत्रीय सहयोग रणनीतियों को एशिया और प्रशांत में आर्थिक विकास और C-19 महामारी से मजबूत वसूली में तेजी लाने में मदद कर सकते हैं। यह C-19 महामारी से उबरने और पुनर्निर्माण के लिए क्षेत्र की अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के लिए एक साथ काम करने के अवसरों की भी खोज करता है।

Arab Gulf’s first coal-based power plant being developed in Dubai

• The first coal-based power plant of Arab Gulf country is being developed in Saih Shuaib, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The 2,400MW Hassyan clean coal power station will be built at an estimated cost of $ 3.4 billion.
• The project will comprise four units of 600MW each, which are expected to start operations in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 respectively. The power plant is expected to produce sufficient electricity to power approximately 250,000 households.

Narendra Singh Tomar launches Honey FPO Programme in 5 states

• The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar virtually inaugurated Honey Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) Programme in five states, for producing honey. The Honey FPO Programme aims to address the issues faced by the beekeeping industry and also promote honey production in the country. This will also help in achieving the goal of increasing farmer’s income.
• These 5 FPOs will be set up by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED). They will be set up at
• East Champaran (Bihar)
• Morena (Madhya Pradesh)
• Bharatpur (Rajasthan)

• Sunderbans (West Bengal)
• The Honey FPO Programme has been launched under the Central Sector Scheme for Formation & Promotion of new 10,000 FPOs.
• The Government has approved 2,200 FPOs for the current financial year 2020-21.
• The task of creating these FPOs has been given to Nabard (600 FPOs), Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium (500), National Cooperative Development Corporation (500) and NAFED which will support 50 commodity-specific FPOs and some State-level organisations.

Lewis Hamilton wins Bahrain Grand Prix 2020

• Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes-Great Britain) has won the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix at Bahrain International Circuit, Bahrain. The race was the fifteenth round of the 2020 Formula One World Championship. This is the 11th victory for Hamilton of the season, and 95th F1 win of his career.
• Also, Hamilton now holds the records for the most wins (95), in Formula One history. Red Bull Racing teammates Max Verstappen (Netherlands) and Alexander Albon (Thailand) were second and third respectively.

 Virat Kohli becomes fastest to reach 22,000 international runs

• Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli scripted another record in the game. He broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record and became the quickest batsman to complete 22,000 runs. He reached the milestone in his 462nd innings. Tendulkar batted 493 times to reach that mark. They are followed by Brian Lara (511 innings) and Ricky Ponting (514 innings) on the list. The only batsman with an average of over 50 across all formats, Kohli has 7240 runs in Tests, 12834 runs in ODIs and 2794 runs in T20Is.
• Kohli achieved this feat during the second ODI between Australia and India at the SCG. Notably, Kohli has become the eighth batsman overall and the third Indian to surpass 22,000 international runs. Rahul Dravid, who scored 24208 runs, is another Indian on the list.

 OBITUARY

Senegal World Cup footballer Papa Bouba Diop passes away

• Senegal’s professional footballer, Papa Bouba Diop, who helped the country win the FIFA World Cup match in 2002, has passed away. He was of the age of 42. His goal helped Senegal secure historic 1–0 win over the then-world champions France in the opening match of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and Senegal’s first-ever match at the FIFA World Cup. Diop has won 63 caps for Senegal.

World AIDS Day: 01 December

• Every year, on 1 December, the world commemorates World AIDS Day. The day provides an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. This year the theme of World AIDS Day is “Global solidarity, shared responsibility”.
• In 2020, the world’s attention has been focused by the C-19 pandemic on health and how pandemics affect lives and livelihoods. C-19 is showing once again how health is interlinked with other critical issues, such as reducing inequality, human rights, gender equality, social protection and economic growth.

 BSF Celebrates its 56th Raising Day on December 1, 2020

• The Border Security Force (BSF), is observing its 56th Raising Day on 01 December 2020. BSF was formed on December 1, 1965, as a unified central agency, after the Indo-Pak and India-China wars, for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for matters connected therewith. It is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of the Union of India and stands as the world’s largest border guarding force. BSF has been termed as the First Line of Defence of Indian Territories.

 International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

• The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is an UN-organized day held every year on November 29. It is observed to mark the anniversary of resolution 181, wherein the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine on November 29, 1947.
• In 1977, the General Assembly called for the annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. On that day, in 1947, the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine. This date, which was chosen because of its meaning and significance to the Palestinian people, is based on the call by the United Nations General Assembly for an annual observance of the resolution on the partition of Palestine.

India and Finland sign MOU on environmental protection

• India and Finland signed an MoU for developing cooperation in the field of Environment protection and biodiversity conservation. The MoU was signed by Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar from the Indian side and his Finnish counterpart Krista Mikkonen through video-mode.
• Further, advance Indian and Finnish partnership and strengthen technological, scientific and management capabilities and develop bilateral cooperation in the field of environmental protection and biodiversity conservation
• Support, exchange best practices in areas like prevention of air and water pollution, waste management, and promotion of circular economy.

• The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has released a new book titled ‘Future of Regional Cooperation in Asia and the Pacific’.
• The book provides insight on how stronger regional cooperation strategies, including in health, trade, finance, and disaster risk, can help governments in Asia and the Pacific accelerate economic growth and robust recovery from the C-19 pandemic. It also explores opportunities for economies in the region to work together to recover and rebuild from the C-19 pandemic.
