जापान और ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने चीन से मुकाबले के लिए ऐतेहासिक रक्षा सौदे पर किए हस्ताक्षर 

  • जापान और ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने दक्षिण चीन सागर और प्रशांत द्वीप देशों में चीन के बढ़ते प्रभाव का मुकाबला करने के लिए एक "लैंडमार्क रक्षा समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। जापानी प्रधानमंत्री योशीहिदे सुगा और ऑस्ट्रेलियाई के प्रधानमंत्री स्कॉट मॉरिसन द्वारा पारस्परिक संपर्क समझौते (Reciprocal Access Agreement) नामक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। 
  • RAA जापानी और ऑस्ट्रेलियाई सैनिकों को एक-दूसरे के देशों में जाने और प्रशिक्षण और संयुक्त ऑपरेशन करने में सक्षम बनाएगा। यह साझेदारी दोनों देशों के सुरक्षा संबंधों को मजबूत और रक्षा बलों के बीच तालमेल को बेहतर करेगी।

मध्य प्रदेश सरकार ने गायों के संरक्षण के लिए की "गौ कैबिनेट" गठन करने की घोषणा 

  • मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान के नेतृत्व वाली मध्य प्रदेश सरकार ने राज्य में गायों के संरक्षण, संरक्षण और संवर्धन के लिए "गौ कैबिनेट" का गठन करने का निर्णय लिया है। मंत्रिमंडल में पशुपालन, वन, पंचायत और ग्रामीण विकास, राजस्व, गृह और किसान कल्याण विभाग शामिल किए जाएंगे। 
  • मंत्रिमंडल की पहली बैठक 'गोपाष्टमी' पर 12 बजे 22 नवंबर को अगर-मालवा जिले के कामधेनु गौ अभयारण्य नामक गाय अभयारण्य में होगी। यह भारत का पहला गाय अभयारण्य है जिसे भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) ने मध्य प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा सितंबर 2017 में स्थापित किया था। 

पीएम मोदी ने तीसरे वार्षिक ब्लूमबर्ग न्यू इकोनॉमी फोरम को किया संबोधित 

  • प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से तीसरे वार्षिक ब्लूमबर्ग न्यू इकोनॉमी फोरम को संबोधित किया है। इस वर्ष वैश्विक अर्थव्‍यवस्‍था कोविड-19 महामारी की चुनौती का सामना कर रही है, इसलिए बैठक में अर्थव्‍यवस्‍था को सुदृढ़ बनाने के उपाय करने और भविष्‍य के लिए रणनीति तैयार करने पर विचार-विमर्श किया गया। 
  • फोरम के अन्य प्रतिभागियों में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) के महानिदेशक टेड्रोस अदनोम घेब्रेयियस, ब्रिटेन के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री टोनी ब्लेयर, पूर्व अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बिल क्लिंटन, माइक्रोसॉफ्ट के संस्थापक बिल गेट्स और संयुक्त राष्ट्र के महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस शामिल है। 
  • ब्लूमबर्ग न्यू इकोनॉमी फोरम की स्थापना वर्ष 2018 में माइकल ब्लूमबर्ग द्वारा की गई थी, जो विश्‍व अर्थव्‍यवस्‍था के ऐतिहासिक अंतरण के समय उसके सामने मौजूद गंभीर चुनौतियों के लिए कार्रवाई योग्‍य समाधान सुझाने के वास्‍ते वैश्विक समुदाय के नेताओं को विचार-विमर्श के लिए मंच उपलब्‍ध कराता है। फोरम की पहली उद्घाटन बैठक सिंगापुर में और दूसरी वार्षिक बैठक बीजिंग में आयोजित की गई थी। 

महाराष्ट्र में किया जाएगा एशिया की पहली सौर ऊर्जा सक्षम टेक्सटाइल मिल का उद्घाटन 

  • एशिया का पहला सौर ऊर्जा-सक्षम कपड़ा मिल महाराष्ट्र के परभणी जिले में स्थापित किया गया है। 30 एकड़ भूमि में फैली, जय भवानी महिलाओं की सहकारी कपड़ा मिल एशिया का पहली ऐसी मिल होगी जो पूरी तरह से सौर ऊर्जा पर काम करेगी। इस परियोजना की स्थापना की कुल लागत लगभग 100 करोड़ रु है। 
  • एक बार शुरू होने के बाद, मिल सूती कपड़े का प्रसंस्करण करेगी और जिले की कई महिलाओं को रोजगार प्रदान करेगी। परभणी महाराष्ट्र का प्रमुख कपास उत्पादक जिला है और जो मिल के परिचालन के साथ-साथ जिले में औद्योगिक क्षेत्र को गति प्रदान करेगा।

 सुदीप त्यागी ने क्रिकेट के सभी फोर्मट्स से संन्यास का किया ऐलान 

  • भारतीय क्रिकेटर सुदीप त्यागी ने क्रिकेट के सभी फोर्मट्स से संन्यास लेने की घोषणा की है। 33 वर्षीय तेज गेंदबाज ने भारत के लिए चार वनडे और एक T20I मैच खेला। 
  • इसके अलावा, दाएं हाथ के मध्यम तेज गेंदबाज ने इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (IPL) में 14 मैचों में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स (CSK) और सनराइजर्स हैदराबाद (SRH) के लिए भी प्रदर्शन किया था।

गोवा की पूर्व राज्यपाल मृदुला सिन्हा का निधन 

  • गोवा की पूर्व राज्यपाल और भाजपा की वरिष्ट नेता मृदुला सिन्हा का निधन हो गया। वह गोवा की पहली महिला राज्यपाल थीं। साथ ही, वह एक कुशल लेखिका भी थीं, जिन्होंने साहित्य के साथ-साथ संस्कृति की दुनिया में भी व्यापक योगदान दिया। 
  • इसके अलावा उन्होंने मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय में भाजपा की महिला विंग की प्रमुख और केंद्रीय समाज कल्याण बोर्ड की अध्यक्ष के रूप में सेवाएँ दी थी। 
  • मुजफ्फरपुर की मूल निवासी, सिन्हा को गवर्नर हाउस लॉन में 'चांद के साथ' नामक सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम शुरू करने के लिए याद किया जाएगा। इसके अलावा उन्होंने राजभवन के अंदर एक पशुशाला की भी शुरुआत की थी। 

राजस्थान के मंत्री भंवरलाल मेघवाल का निधन 

  • राजस्थान के सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्री भंवरलाल मेघवाल का निधन हो गया। 
  • उन्होंने विधायक के रूप में पांच बार के राज्य के चुरू जिले के सुजानगढ़ विधानसभा क्षेत्र का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।

 विश्व शौचालय दिवस: 19 नवंबर 

  • वैश्विक स्वच्छता संकट से निपटने के लिए कार्रवाई को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए 19 नवंबर को विश्व शौचालय दिवस (World Toilet Day) विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। विश्व शौचालय दिवस, शौचालय और स्वच्छता के बिना बिना जीवन बिताने वाले 4.2 बिलियन लोगों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए मनाया जाता है। यह वैश्विक स्वच्छता संकट से निपटने और सतत विकास लक्ष्य 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030 यानि 2030 तक सभी के लिए पानी और स्वच्छता को मुहैया कराने की कार्रवाई करने के बारे में है। 
  • इस दिन की शुरुआत 2001 में विश्व शौचालय संगठन द्वारा की गई थी, जिसे 2013 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा आधिकारिक रूप से घोषित किया गया था। इस वर्ष यह "Sustainable sanitation and climate change" के विषय के महत्व पर मनाया जा रहा है।

  • प्रति वर्ष नवंबर महीने के तीसरे गुरुवार को विश्व दर्शन दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष विश्व दर्शन दिवस 19 नवंबर 2020 को मनाया जा रहा है। यह दिवस अकादमिक आदान-प्रदान को प्रोत्साहित करता है और वैश्विक मुद्दों के समाधान में दार्शनिक ज्ञान के योगदान पर प्रकाश डालता है। वर्ष 2020 का संस्करण वर्तमान महामारी को समझने, आवश्यकता को रेखांकित करने, पहले से कहीं अधिक, दार्शनिक प्रतिबिंब का सहारा लेने के लिए दुनिया को आमंत्रित करता है, ताकि हम कई संकटों का सामना कर सके। 
  • वर्ष 2005 में यूनेस्को के जनरल कॉन्फ्रेंस ने प्रत्येक वर्ष नवंबर महीने के हर तीसरे गुरुवार को विश्व दर्शन दिवस मनाए जाने की घोषणा की थी। विश्व दर्शन दिवस की शुरुआत यूनेस्को ने मानवीय गरिमा और विविधता का सम्मान करने वाली दार्शनिक बहस की एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देने के प्रयास के रूप में की थी। 

वर्ल्ड COPD डे 2020: 18 नवंबर 

  • World COPD Day: प्रति वर्ष नवंबर महीने के तीसरे बुधवार को वर्ल्ड COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) डे के रूप में मनाया जाता है ताकि chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) यानि फेफड़े से संबंधित रोगों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाई जा सके और दुनिया भर में COPD देखभाल में सुधार किया जा सके। इस वर्ष विश्व सीओपीडी दिवस 18 नवंबर 2020 को मनाया गया। 
  • वर्ष 2020 की थीम: Living Well with COPD-Everybody, Everywhere.
  • यह दिन विश्व भर में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन, स्वास्थ्य देखभाल पेशेवरों और COPD रोगी समूहों के सहयोग से ग्लोबल इनिशिएटिव फॉर क्रॉनिक ऑब्स्ट्रक्टिव लंग डिजीज (GOLD) द्वारा मनाया जाता है। पहला विश्व सीओपीडी दिवस 2002 में मनाया गया था। क्रॉनिक ऑब्सट्रक्टिव पल्मोनरी डिजीज, फेफड़ों से संबंधित एक बीमारी है जो सांसों के एयरफ्लो को रोकती है, जिससे सांस लेने में मुश्किल होती है।

Japan & Australia signs defence deal to counter China 

  • Japan and Australia have signed a ‘landmark’ defence pact in a bid to counter China’s growing influence in the South China Sea and over the Pacific island nations. The deal called Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA) was signed between Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison. 
  • RAA will allow Japanese and Australian troops to visit each other’s countries and conduct training and joint operations. The treaty will strengthen its security ties and facilitate cooperation between defence forces. 

NATIONAL 

Madhya Pradesh govt announces ‘Gau Cabinet’ for protection of cows 

  • The Madhya Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has decided to set up a ‘Gau Cabinet’ for the protection, conservation and promotion of cows in the state. The Cabinet will comprise of the departments of animal husbandry, forests, panchayat and rural development, revenue, home and farmers welfare. 
  • The first meeting of the Cabinet will be held at 12 pm on ‘Gopashtami’ on November 22 at the Cow Sanctuary in Agar-Malwa district named ‘Kamdhenu Gau Abhyaranya ‘. It is India’s first cow sanctuary which was set up by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Madhya Pradesh government in September 2017. 

PM Modi addresses 3rd Annual Bloomberg New Economy Forum 

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the 3rd Annual Bloomberg New Economy Forum through video-conferencing. The forum witnessed discussions on refuelling the economy and charting a course for the future, as the world economy is grappling with the C-19-19 pandemic. 
  • Some other Speakers of the forum included Director-general of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, former US President Bill Clinton, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres. 
  • The Bloomberg New Economy Forum was established in 2018 by Michael Bloomberg, to build a community of leaders to engage in real conversations leading to actionable solutions about the critical challenges facing a world economy in the throes of a historic transition. The inaugural Forum was held in Singapore and the Second Annual Forum was hosted in Beijing. 

Asia’s 1st solar power-enabled Textile Mill to be unveiled in Maharashtra 

  • The first solar power-enabled Textile Mill in Asia is set to be set up in Parbhani district, Maharashtra. Spread across 30 acres of land, the Jai Bhawani women’s cooperative textile mill will be first in Asia that will operate entirely on solar power. The overall cost of setting up the project is around Rs. 100 crore. 
  • Once functional, the mill will process cotton to cloth and would provide jobs to many women in the district. Parbhani is the leading cotton-producing district in Maharashtra and with the operationalization of the mill, it will give momentum to the industrial sector in the district.

 Sudeep Tyagi announces retirement from all forms of cricket 

  • Indian cricketer, Sudeep Tyagi has announced his retirement from all forms of the cricket. The 33-year-old had played for the Indian national cricket team in four ODIs and a lone T20I as a fast bowler. 
  • Apart from this, the right-arm medium-fast bowler had also featured in 14 games in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). 

OBITUARY

 Former Goa Governor Mridula Sinha passes away 

  • Former Governor of Goa and veteran BJP leader, Mridula Sinha passed away. She was the first woman Governor of Goa. She was also a proficient writer, making extensive contributions to the world of literature as well as culture. She has served as the head of the BJP’s women’s wing and Chairperson of Central Social Welfare Board in the Ministry of Human Resource Development. 
  • A native of Muzaffarpur, Sinha will be remembered for starting cultural events called ‘Chaand ke Saath’ in the lawns of Governor House. She had also opened a cattle shed inside the Raj Bhawan. 

Rajasthan Minister Bhanwarlal Meghwal passes away 

  • Rajasthan Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Bhanwarlal Meghwal passed away. The five-time MLA represented the Sujangarh assembly constituency of Churu district of the state.

 World Toilet Day: 19 November 

  • World Toilet Day (WTD) is observed globally on 19 November to inspire action to tackle the global sanitation crisis. World Toilet Day celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. 
  • The day was established by the World Toilet Organization in 2001 and officially declared by the UN General Assembly in 2013. This year the theme remarks on the importance of "Sustainable sanitation and climate change". 

World Philosophy Day: 19 November 

  • World Philosophy Day is observed on the third Thursday of November every year. This year World Philosophy Day falls on 19 November 2020. The Day encourages academic exchange and highlights the contribution of philosophical knowledge in addressing global issues. The 2020 edition invites the world to reflect on the meaning of the current pandemic, underlining the need, more than ever before, to resort to philosophical reflection in order to face the multiple crises we are going through. 
  • In 2005 the UNESCO General Conference proclaimed that World Philosophy Day would be celebrated every third Thursday of November. In establishing World Philosophy Day UNESCO strives to promote an international culture of philosophical debate that respects human dignity and diversity.

  • World COPD Day is observed on the third Wednesday of November every year to raise awareness about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and improve COPD care throughout the world. World COPD Day 2020 falls on 18 November 2020. 
  • The 2020 theme: Living Well with COPD-Everybody, Everywhere.
  • The day is organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) in collaboration with health care professionals and COPD patient groups throughout the world. The first World COPD Day was held in 2002. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a lung disease that blocks airflow and makes it difficult to breathe.

 विश्व शौचालय दिवस: 19 नवंबर 

  • वैश्विक स्वच्छता संकट से निपटने के लिए कार्रवाई को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए 19 नवंबर को विश्व शौचालय दिवस (World Toilet Day) विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। विश्व शौचालय दिवस, शौचालय और स्वच्छता के बिना बिना जीवन बिताने वाले 4.2 बिलियन लोगों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए मनाया जाता है। यह वैश्विक स्वच्छता संकट से निपटने और सतत विकास लक्ष्य 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030 यानि 2030 तक सभी के लिए पानी और स्वच्छता को मुहैया कराने की कार्रवाई करने के बारे में है। 
  • इस दिन की शुरुआत 2001 में विश्व शौचालय संगठन द्वारा की गई थी, जिसे 2013 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा आधिकारिक रूप से घोषित किया गया था। इस वर्ष यह "Sustainable sanitation and climate change" के विषय के महत्व पर मनाया जा रहा है।

  • वर्ष 2005 में यूनेस्को के जनरल कॉन्फ्रेंस ने प्रत्येक वर्ष नवंबर महीने के हर तीसरे गुरुवार को विश्व दर्शन दिवस मनाए जाने की घोषणा की थी। विश्व दर्शन दिवस की शुरुआत यूनेस्को ने मानवीय गरिमा और विविधता का सम्मान करने वाली दार्शनिक बहस की एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देने के प्रयास के रूप में की थी। 

वर्ल्ड COPD डे 2020: 18 नवंबर 

  • World COPD Day: प्रति वर्ष नवंबर महीने के तीसरे बुधवार को वर्ल्ड COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) डे के रूप में मनाया जाता है ताकि chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) यानि फेफड़े से संबंधित रोगों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाई जा सके और दुनिया भर में COPD देखभाल में सुधार किया जा सके। इस वर्ष विश्व सीओपीडी दिवस 18 नवंबर 2020 को मनाया गया। 
  • वर्ष 2020 की थीम: Living Well with COPD-Everybody, Everywhere.
  • यह दिन विश्व भर में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन, स्वास्थ्य देखभाल पेशेवरों और COPD रोगी समूहों के सहयोग से ग्लोबल इनिशिएटिव फॉर क्रॉनिक ऑब्स्ट्रक्टिव लंग डिजीज (GOLD) द्वारा मनाया जाता है। पहला विश्व सीओपीडी दिवस 2002 में मनाया गया था। क्रॉनिक ऑब्सट्रक्टिव पल्मोनरी डिजीज, फेफड़ों से संबंधित एक बीमारी है जो सांसों के एयरफ्लो को रोकती है, जिससे सांस लेने में मुश्किल होती है।

Japan & Australia signs defence deal to counter China 

  • Japan and Australia have signed a ‘landmark’ defence pact in a bid to counter China’s growing influence in the South China Sea and over the Pacific island nations. The deal called Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA) was signed between Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison. 
  • RAA will allow Japanese and Australian troops to visit each other’s countries and conduct training and joint operations. The treaty will strengthen its security ties and facilitate cooperation between defence forces. 

NATIONAL 

Madhya Pradesh govt announces ‘Gau Cabinet’ for protection of cows 

  • The Madhya Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has decided to set up a ‘Gau Cabinet’ for the protection, conservation and promotion of cows in the state. The Cabinet will comprise of the departments of animal husbandry, forests, panchayat and rural development, revenue, home and farmers welfare. 
  • The first meeting of the Cabinet will be held at 12 pm on ‘Gopashtami’ on November 22 at the Cow Sanctuary in Agar-Malwa district named ‘Kamdhenu Gau Abhyaranya ‘. It is India’s first cow sanctuary which was set up by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Madhya Pradesh government in September 2017. 

PM Modi addresses 3rd Annual Bloomberg New Economy Forum 

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the 3rd Annual Bloomberg New Economy Forum through video-conferencing. The forum witnessed discussions on refuelling the economy and charting a course for the future, as the world economy is grappling with the C-19-19 pandemic. 
  • Some other Speakers of the forum included Director-general of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, former US President Bill Clinton, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres. 
  • The Bloomberg New Economy Forum was established in 2018 by Michael Bloomberg, to build a community of leaders to engage in real conversations leading to actionable solutions about the critical challenges facing a world economy in the throes of a historic transition. The inaugural Forum was held in Singapore and the Second Annual Forum was hosted in Beijing. 

Asia’s 1st solar power-enabled Textile Mill to be unveiled in Maharashtra 

  • The first solar power-enabled Textile Mill in Asia is set to be set up in Parbhani district, Maharashtra. Spread across 30 acres of land, the Jai Bhawani women’s cooperative textile mill will be first in Asia that will operate entirely on solar power. The overall cost of setting up the project is around Rs. 100 crore. 
  • Once functional, the mill will process cotton to cloth and would provide jobs to many women in the district. Parbhani is the leading cotton-producing district in Maharashtra and with the operationalization of the mill, it will give momentum to the industrial sector in the district.

 Sudeep Tyagi announces retirement from all forms of cricket 

  • Indian cricketer, Sudeep Tyagi has announced his retirement from all forms of the cricket. The 33-year-old had played for the Indian national cricket team in four ODIs and a lone T20I as a fast bowler. 
  • Apart from this, the right-arm medium-fast bowler had also featured in 14 games in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). 

OBITUARY

 Former Goa Governor Mridula Sinha passes away 

  • Former Governor of Goa and veteran BJP leader, Mridula Sinha passed away. She was the first woman Governor of Goa. She was also a proficient writer, making extensive contributions to the world of literature as well as culture. She has served as the head of the BJP’s women’s wing and Chairperson of Central Social Welfare Board in the Ministry of Human Resource Development. 
  • A native of Muzaffarpur, Sinha will be remembered for starting cultural events called ‘Chaand ke Saath’ in the lawns of Governor House. She had also opened a cattle shed inside the Raj Bhawan. 

Rajasthan Minister Bhanwarlal Meghwal passes away 

  • Rajasthan Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Bhanwarlal Meghwal passed away. The five-time MLA represented the Sujangarh assembly constituency of Churu district of the state.

  • World Toilet Day (WTD) is observed globally on 19 November to inspire action to tackle the global sanitation crisis. World Toilet Day celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. 
  • The day was established by the World Toilet Organization in 2001 and officially declared by the UN General Assembly in 2013. This year the theme remarks on the importance of "Sustainable sanitation and climate change". 

World Philosophy Day: 19 November 

  • World Philosophy Day is observed on the third Thursday of November every year. This year World Philosophy Day falls on 19 November 2020. The Day encourages academic exchange and highlights the contribution of philosophical knowledge in addressing global issues. The 2020 edition invites the world to reflect on the meaning of the current pandemic, underlining the need, more than ever before, to resort to philosophical reflection in order to face the multiple crises we are going through.

  • World COPD Day is observed on the third Wednesday of November every year to raise awareness about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and improve COPD care throughout the world. World COPD Day 2020 falls on 18 November 2020. 
  • The 2020 theme: Living Well with COPD-Everybody, Everywhere.
  • The day is organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) in collaboration with health care professionals and COPD patient groups throughout the world. The first World COPD Day was held in 2002. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a lung disease that blocks airflow and makes it difficult to breathe.
