ओडिशा सरकार 10 और वर्षों के लिए भारतीय हॉकी टीमों को प्रायोजित करेगी

• मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक ने घोषणा की कि 2023 में मौजूदा प्रायोजन समाप्त होने के बाद ओडिशा सरकार 10 और वर्षों के लिए भारतीय हॉकी टीमों को प्रायोजित करेगी। राज्य सरकार ने 2018 में राष्ट्रीय हॉकी टीमों को प्रायोजित करना शुरू किया। टीमों ने टोक्यो ओलंपिक में अपने शानदार प्रदर्शन के साथ इतिहास रचा है, ”यह मुख्यमंत्री ने प्रत्येक खिलाड़ी को 10 लाख रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार देते हुए कहा।
• हालाँकि, प्रायोजन सौदों की सही मात्रा का खुलासा होना बाकी है। 2018 में, ओडिशा ने कानूनी मुद्दों में उलझने के बाद सहारा इंडिया के हटने के बाद 5 वर्ष के लिए पुरुष और महिला टीमों को प्रायोजित करने के लिए हॉकी इंडिया के साथ 100 करोड़ रुपये के सौदे पर हस्ताक्षर किए थे।

जम्मू और कश्मीर: सेना ने 400 किलोमीटर “JAZBAA-E- TIRANGA” का आयोजन किया

• जम्मू और कश्मीर में, सेना ने 400 किलोमीटर "जज्बा-ए-तिरंगा" रिले मैराथन का आयोजन किया। इस कार्यक्रम को मेजर जनरल राजीव पुरी, जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग, ऐस ऑफ स्पेड्स डिवीजन ने झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया, जिन्होंने रिले का नेतृत्व किया, जिसके बाद अन्य सैन्य कर्मियों ने बारीकी से काम किया।
• नियंत्रण रेखा (LoC) पर भारतीय तिरंगे को लेकर 300 से अधिक सैनिकों ने भाग लिया। दौड़ ने भाईचारे की भावना को जगाया, क्योंकि प्रत्येक सैनिक ने जिम्मेदारी के क्षेत्र (AOR) में कामरेडशिप का प्रतीकात्मक राष्ट्रीय ध्वज ले लिया, इसे अन्य इकाइयों को सौंप दिया जो युद्ध में कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर खड़े हैं।

 उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार स्थापित करेगी एटीएस प्रशिक्षण केंद्र

• उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने सहारनपुर के देवबंद में आतंकवाद निरोधी दस्ते (ATS) कमांडो के लिए एक प्रशिक्षण केंद्र स्थापित करने का निर्णय लिया है। सरकार पहले ही देवबंद में एटीएस (ATS) प्रशिक्षण केंद्र स्थापित करने के लिए 2,000 वर्ग मीटर से अधिक भूमि आवंटित कर चुकी है।
• देवबंद उत्तरांचल और हरियाणा सीमा पर है और यह राज्य के पश्चिमी हिस्सों में अपनी गहराई, उपस्थिति और संचालन दक्षता बढ़ाने में हमारी मदद करने के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है।

प्रियंका चोपड़ा बनीं MAMI फिल्म फेस्टिवल की चेयरपर्सन

• दीपिका पादुकोण के पद से हटने के लगभग चार महीने बाद, अभिनेता-निर्माता प्रियंका चोपड़ा जोनास को Jio MAMI फिल्म महोत्सव के अध्यक्ष के रूप में घोषित किया गया था। मुंबई एकेडमी ऑफ मूविंग इमेज (MAMI) ने आने वाले वर्ष, संस्करण और नेतृत्व में बदलाव के लिए अपनी योजनाओं का अनावरण किया।
• प्रियंका को MAMI के न्यासी बोर्ड द्वारा सर्वसम्मति से नामित किया गया था जिसमें नीता एम अंबानी (सह-अध्यक्ष), अनुपमा चोपड़ा (त्योहार निदेशक), अजय बिजली, आनंद जी महिंद्रा, फरहान अख्तर, ईशा अंबानी, कबीर खान, कौस्तुभ धवसे, किरण राव, राणा दग्गुबाती, रितेश देशमुख, रोहन सिप्पी, सिद्धार्थ रॉय कपूर, विक्रमादित्य मोटवानी, विशाल भारद्वाज और जोया अख्तर शामिल हैं।

 मीराबाई चानू को एमवे इंडिया का ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त किया गया

• डायरेक्ट सेलिंग एफएमसीजी फर्म एमवे इंडिया ने घोषणा की है कि उसने ओलंपियन सेखोम मीराबाई चानू को एमवे और उसके उत्पादों की न्यूट्रीलाइट रेंज के लिए ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त किया है। चानू न्यूट्रीलाइट डेली, ओमेगा और ऑल प्लांट प्रोटीन जैसे उत्पाद श्रृंखलाओं पर केंद्रित कंपनी के अभियानों का नेतृत्व करेंगे। भारोत्तोलक चानू ने 2020 टोक्यो ओलंपिक में महिलाओं के 49 किग्रा वर्ग में रजत पदक जीता।

पीयूष गोयल ने ब्रिक्स उद्योग मंत्रियों की पांचवीं बैठक की अध्यक्षता की

• वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने ब्रिक्स उद्योग मंत्रियों की पांचवीं बैठक की अध्यक्षता की और न्यू डेवलपमेंट बैंक (NDB) के क्षितिज का विस्तार करने का आह्वान किया। भारत के पास 2021 के लिए ब्रिक्स की अध्यक्षता है। इस वर्ष, भारत ने अपनी अध्यक्षता के लिए 'निरंतरता, समेकन और सहमति के लिए इंट्रा ब्रिक्स सहयोग' की थीम को चुना।
• ब्रिक्स मंत्रियों ने उभरती हुई नई प्रौद्योगिकियों को अपनाने की आवश्यकता का आह्वान किया, इसे उद्योग के आधुनिकीकरण और परिवर्तन और आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण उपकरण के रूप में मान्यता दी।

तमिल अभिनेता और लोकप्रिय टीवी होस्ट आनंद कन्नन का निधन हो गया

• तमिल स्टार और लोकप्रिय टीवी होस्ट आनंद कन्नन का निधन हो गया। उन्होंने चेन्नई जाने से पहले सिंगापुर में वसन्तम टीवी के साथ अपना करियर शुरू किया, जहां उन्होंने सन म्यूजिक के साथ वीडियो जॉकी के रूप में काम किया।
• उन्होंने वेंकट प्रभु की सरोजा (2008) में अतिथि भूमिका निभाई। आनंद कन्नन ने बाद में विज्ञान कथा तमिल फिल्म अधिसय उलकम (2012) में एक पूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।

विश्व फोटोग्राफी दिवस 2021: 19 अगस्त

• फोटोग्राफी को एक हॉबी के रूप में बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष 19 अगस्त को विश्व फोटोग्राफी दिवस मनाया जाता है और विश्‍व भर के फोटोग्राफरों को विश्‍व के बाकी हिस्सों के साथ तस्वीरें साझा करने के लिए प्रेरित करता है। पहला आधिकारिक विश्व फोटोग्राफी दिवस 19 अगस्त, 2010 को मनाया गया।
• विश्व फोटो दिवस की शुरुआत 1837 में फ्रांसीसी लुईस डॉगेर और जोसेफ नाइसफोर नीपसे द्वारा विकसित एक फोटोग्राफिक प्रक्रिया डॉगोरोटाइप के आविष्कार से हुई है। यह 19 अगस्त, 1939 को था कि फ्रांसीसी सरकार ने डागुएरियोटाइप प्रक्रिया का पेटेंट खरीदा था और आविष्कार की "विश्व के लिए मुफ्त" उपहार के रूप में घोषणा की थी।

 विश्व मानवतावादी दिवस 2021: 19 अगस्त

• विश्व मानवतावादी दिवस (WHD) प्रतिवर्ष 19 अगस्त को मानवीय कर्मियों और उन श्रमिकों को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए मनाया जाता है जिन्होंने मानवीय सेवा करते हुए अपनी जान गंवाई या अपनी जान जोखिम में डाली 2021 में हम 12वां WHD मना रहे हैं।
• 2021 WHD का विषय #TheHumanRace है: जलवायु कार्रवाई के लिए एक वैश्विक चुनौती उन लोगों के साथ एकजुटता में जिन्हें इसकी सबसे अधिक आवश्यकता है।
• 19 अगस्त उस दिन को चिह्नित करता है जिस दिन इराक के महासचिव के तत्कालीन विशेष प्रतिनिधि, सर्जियो विएरा डी मेलो और उनके 21 सहयोगी बगदाद में संयुक्त राष्ट्र मुख्यालय पर बमबारी में मारे गए थे। 2009 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा औपचारिक रूप से मान्यता दिए जाने के बाद, 19 अगस्त 2009 को पहली बार विश्व मानवतावादी दिवस मनाया गया।

Odisha government will sponsor Indian Hockey teams for 10 more years

• The Odisha government will sponsor the Indian Hockey teams for 10 more years after the current sponsorship ends in 2023, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced. The state government started sponsoring the national hockey teams in 2018. The teams have scripted history with their brilliant performance at the Tokyo Olympics,” the chief minister said, handing over a cash award of Rs 10 lakh to each player.
• However, the exact amount of sponsorship deals are yet to be revealed. In 2018, Odisha had signed a Rs 100 crore deal with Hockey India for sponsoring the men’s and women’s teams for 5 years after Sahara India withdrew after getting entangled in legal issues.

Jammu and Kashmir: Army organised a 400 Km “JAZBAA-E- TIRANGA”

• In Jammu and Kashmir, the Army organised a 400 Km “JAZBAA-E- TIRANGA” Relay Marathon. The event was flagged off by Major General Rajeev Puri, General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division, who led the relay, closely followed by other military personnel.
• More than 300 troops took part, carrying the Indian Tricolour all along the Line of Control (LoC). The run inculcated the spirit of brotherhood, as each soldier carried the symbolic National Flag of comradeship across the Area of Responsibility (AOR), handing it over to other units which stand shoulder to shoulder in war.

 Uttar Pradesh government will set up ATS training centre

• The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up a training centre for Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) commandos in Saharanpur’s Deoband. According to sources, the government has already allotted over 2,000 square meters of land for establishing the ATS training centre in Deoband.
• Deoband is on the Uttaranchal and Haryana border and it is an important place to help us increase our depth, presence and operation efficiency in western parts of the state.

Priyanka Chopra named chairperson of MAMI film festival

• Actor-producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas was announced as the chairperson of Jio MAMI Film Festival, almost four months after Deepika Padukone stepped down from the position. The Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) unveiled its plans for the coming year, edition and the change in leadership.
• Priyanka was unanimously nominated by MAMI’s Board of Trustees which comprises Nita M Ambani (Co-Chairperson), Anupama Chopra (Festival Director), Ajay Bijli, Anand G. Mahindra, Farhan Akhtar, Isha Ambani, Kabir Khan, Kaustubh Dhavse, Kiran Rao, Rana Daggubati, Riteish Deshmukh, Rohan Sippy, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vishal Bhardwaj and Zoya Akhtar.

 Mirabai Chanu appointed as the brand ambassador of Amway India

• Direct selling FMCG firm Amway India has announced that it has appointed Olympian Saikhom Mirabai Chanu as the brand ambassador for Amway and its Nutrilite range of products. Chanu will spearhead the company’s campaigns focused on product ranges such as Nutrilite Daily, Omega and All Plant Protein among others.
• Chanu, a weightlifter, won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the women’s 49kg category.

Piyush Goyal chaired the fifth meeting of BRICS Industry Ministers

• Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has chaired the fifth meeting of BRICS Industry Ministers and called for expanding the horizon of the New Development Bank (NDB). India holds the Chairship of BRICS for 2021. This year, India chose the theme of ‘Intra BRICS Cooperation for Continuity, Consolidation and Consensus’ for its chairship.
• The BRICS ministers called for the need to adopt emerging new technologies, recognising it as an important tool for modernisation and transformation of industry, and promotion of economic growth.

Tamil actor & popular TV host Anandha Kannan passed away

• Tamil star and popular TV host Anandha Kannan passed away. He started his career with Vasantham TV in Singapore before moving to Chennai where he worked with Sun Music as a video jockey.
• He made a guest appearance in Venkat Prabhu’s Saroja (2008). Anandha Kannan later did a full-fledged role in the science fiction Tamil film Adisaya Ulagam (2012).

World Photography Day 2021: 19th August

• World Photography Day is celebrated on 19 August every year to promote photography as a hobby and also inspire photographers around the globe to share a single photo with the rest of the world. The first official World Photo Day was observed on August 19, 2010.
• The origin of World Photo Day comes from the invention of the Daguerreotype, a photographic process developed by Frenchmen Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce in 1837. It was on August 19, 1939 that the French government purchased the patent of Daguerreotype process and announced the invention as a gift “free to the world”.

 World Humanitarian Day 2021: 19th August

• World Humanitarian Day (WHD) is observed every year on 19 August to pay tribute to humanitarian personnel and those workers who lost or risked their lives while doing humanitarian service. In 2021 we are celebrating the 12th WHD.
• The theme for 2021 WHD is #TheHumanRace: a global challenge for climate action in solidarity with people who need it the most.
• 19 August marks the day on which the then Special Representative of the Secretary-General to Iraq, Sérgio Vieira de Mello and 21 of his colleagues were killed in the bombing of the UN Headquarters in Baghdad. World Humanitarian Day was commemorated for the first time on 19 August 2009, after it was formally recognised by the United Nations General Assembly in 2009.
