कुवैत के विदेश मंत्री दो दिवसीय यात्रा पर भारत आए

• विदेश मंत्री और कुवैत के कैबिनेट मामलों के राज्य मंत्री डॉ अहमद नासिर अल-मोहम्मद अल-सबा दो दिवसीय यात्रा के लिए बुधवार को भारत पहुंचे।
• अपनी यात्रा के दौरान, मोहम्मद अल-सबाह गुरुवार को विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर से मुलाकात करेंगे।
• 2 मार्च को, जयशंकर और अल-सबा ने द्विपक्षीय सहयोग और दोनों देशों के बीच क्षेत्रीय स्थिति पर चर्चा की थी।
• भारत ने हाल ही में कुवैत के COVID-19 के खिलाफ अपनी लड़ाई में कुवैत की सहायता करने के लिए भारतीय-निर्मित COVID-19 टीकों की खेप भेजी थी।

 WHO ने अल साल्वाडोर को मलेरिया मुक्त घोषित किया

• अल साल्वाडोर (El Salvador) विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (World Health Organization) द्वारा मलेरिया मुक्त प्रमाणित होने वाला मध्य अमेरिका का पहला देश है। जब कोई देश "एक उचित संदेह से परे" साबित होता है कि पिछले तीन क्रमागत वर्षों से देश भर में बीमारी का कोई स्वदेशी संचरण नहीं हुआ है, तो WHO मलेरिया उन्मूलन का प्रमाण पत्र देता है।
• अल साल्वाडोर को 1996 से मलेरिया का प्रकोप नहीं हुआ था और 2017 के बाद से किसी भी तरह के स्वदेशी मामलों की सूचना नहीं है। 1990 में, देश में प्रति वर्ष 9,000 मामले थे, जो 2010 तक घटकर 26 हो गए। WHO ने सफलता के लिए मलेरिया की रोकथाम, पता लगाने और उपचार के लिए अल साल्वाडोर के निरंतर घरेलू धन को श्रेय दिया।

हुरुन इंडिया वेल्थ रिपोर्ट 2020 की घोषणा की

• हुरुन इंडिया वेल्थ रिपोर्ट, 2020 को जारी किया गया। रिपोर्ट में भारत में 'न्यू मिडिल क्लास (New Middle Class)' नामक एक उपन्यास की घरेलू श्रेणी की पहचान की गई है, जिसकी औसत बचत 20 लाख रुपये प्रति वर्ष है। रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि इन घरों में प्राथमिक आवासीय संपत्ति और ऑटोमोबाइल जैसी भौतिक संपत्ति के लिए एक बड़ा आवंटन है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भारत में ऐसे संचयी परिवारों की कुल संख्या 633,000 है।
• रिपोर्ट में आगे कहा गया है कि पूरे भारत में लगभग 4,12,000 डॉलर-करोड़पति घर या संपन्न घर हैं, जिनकी कुल संपत्ति 7 करोड़ रुपये है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, हुरुन रिच लिस्टर्स में 1,000 करोड़ रुपये की संपत्ति है।
• रिपोर्ट की इस श्रेणी में भारत में 3000 की संख्या में संचयी परिवार शामिल हैं। 'भारतीय मध्यम वर्ग' की प्रति वर्ष 2.5 लाख रुपये से अधिक की आय है, जबकि उनकी कुल संपत्ति 7 करोड़ रुपये से कम है। भारत में ‘भारतीय मध्यम वर्ग' की श्रेणी में 56400,000 परिवार हैं।

 नोकिया बनाएगा नया 5G रेडियो साधन

• फिनिश टेलीकॉम उपकरण निर्माता, नोकिया (Nokia) ने घोषणा की है कि उसने एक नया क्लाउड-आधारित 5G रेडियो साधन विकसित करने के लिए माइक्रोसॉफ्ट, अमेज़ॅन वेब सेवाओं और गूगल के साथ साझेदारी की है। यह साधन अपने रेडियो एक्सेस नेटवर्क (RNA) तकनीक के साथ विकसित किया जाएगा। यह साझेदारी नए व्यापारिक मामलों को विकसित करने के उद्देश्य से गई थी।
• RAN एक मोबाइल दूरसंचार प्रणाली का हिस्सा है। यह प्रणाली रेडियो एक्सेस तकनीक को लागू करती है। RAN एक कंप्यूटर, मोबाइल फोन या किसी रिमोट से नियंत्रित मशीन जैसी डिवाइस के बीच रहता है। यह कोर नेटवर्क के साथ एक कनेक्शन भी प्रदान करता है।
• मानक के आधार पर मोबाइल फोन और अन्य वायरलेस कनेक्टेड डिवाइस को उपयोगकर्ता उपकरण, टर्मिनल उपकरण या मोबाइल स्टेशन आदि कहा जाता हैं। RAN की कार्यक्षमता आमतौर पर सिलिकॉन चिप द्वारा प्रदान की जाती है जो कोर नेटवर्क और उपयोगकर्ता उपकरण दोनों में रहती है।
• एकल हैंडसेट या फोन एक साथ कई रेडियो एक्सेस नेटवर्क से जुड़ा हो सकता है।

• आईपीएल जीसी (इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग गवर्निंग काउंसिल) ने आईपीएल के लिए आधिकारिक भागीदार के रूप में भारत की अग्रणी और सबसे तेजी से बढ़ती डिजिटल ब्रोकरेज फर्मों में से एक अपस्टॉक्स की घोषणा की, जो 9 अप्रैल, 2021 से शुरू होगी। यह एक बहु-वर्षीय साझेदारी होगी।
• सभी भारतीय निवेशकों के लिए वित्तीय निवेश को आसान, न्यायसंगत और सस्ती बनाने की दृष्टि से स्थापित, अपस्टॉक्स निवेशकों और व्यापारियों दोनों के लिए स्टॉक, म्यूचुअल फंड, डिजिटल गोल्ड, डेरिवेटिव्स और ईटीएफ में ऑनलाइन निवेश प्रदान करता है। टाइगर ग्लोबल, अपस्टॉक्स जैसे मार्की निवेशकों के समर्थन में वर्तमान में 2.8 मिलियन से अधिक ग्राहक हैं।

 धनलक्ष्मी ने दुती चंद को हराकर फेडरेशन कप स्वर्ण जीता

• स्प्रिंटर एस धनलक्ष्मी ने पटियाला में फेडरेशन कप सीनियर नेशनल एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप में महिलाओं के 100 मीटर स्प्रिंट फ़ाइनल जीतने के लिए राष्ट्रीय रिकॉर्ड धारक दुती चंद को हराया। तमिलनाडु की 22 वर्षीय धनलक्ष्मी ने 11.39 सेकंड का समय निकालकर चैंपियनशिप की सबसे तेज महिला बनी। ओडिशा स्थित दुती 11.58 सेकंड दूसरे स्थान पर रही।
• तमिलनाडु की एक और धावक अर्चना सुसेन्द्रन 11.76 सेकंड में तीसरे स्थान पर रहीं। गलत शुरुआत के बाद हेमा दास को अयोग्य घोषित कर दिया गया। पुरुषों की 100 मीटर फ़ाइनल श्रेणी में, पंजाब के गुरिन्द्रवीर सिंह ने 10.32 सेकंड में स्वर्ण जीता, जबकि तमिलनाडु के एलाकियादसन कन्नड़ (10.43) और महाराष्ट्र के सतीश कृष्णकुमार (10.56) दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर रहे।

बांग्लादेश के पूर्व पीएम मौदूद अहमद का निधन

• बैरिस्टर मौदूद अहमद, जिन्होंने बांग्लादेश सरकार में छोटे कार्यकाल के लिए विभिन्न राजनीतिक कार्यालयों का संचालन किया, का निधन हो गया है। उन्होंने बांग्लादेश के प्रधान मंत्री (1988-1989), बांग्लादेश के उपराष्ट्रपति (1989-1990), उप प्रधान मंत्री (1976-1978 और 1987-1988), और कानून, न्याय और संसदीय मामलों के मंत्री (2001- 2006) कार्य किया है।
• वह बांग्लादेश नेशनलिस्ट पार्टी (बीएनपी) की स्थायी समिति के सदस्य भी थे।

 ऑडियो कैसेट टेप आविष्कारक लोउ ओटेन्स का निधन

• ऑडियो कैसेट टेप के डच आविष्कारक, लोउ ओटेन्स (Lou Ottens) का निधन हो गया है। डच इंजीनियर ने कैसेट टेप का आविष्कार करने और पहली सीडी के विकास में एक प्रमुख भूमिका निभाने का श्रेय दिया। 1963 में, ओटेन्स ने बर्लिन रेडियो शो इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स मेले में पहला कैसेट टेप प्रस्तुत किया। अपनी रचना को पेटेंट कराने के लिए सोनी और फिलिप्स के बीच एक फेयर समझौते के बाद दुनिया भर में लोकप्रियता हासिल हुई। ओटेन्स ने सीडी विकास परियोजना पर भी काम किया।

• पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री और भाजपा नेता, दिलीप गांधी का निधन, C-19 के कारण हो गया। उन्होंने 29 जनवरी 2003 से 15 मार्च 2004 तक केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री, जहाजरानी मंत्रालय के रूप में कार्य किया था।
• उन्होंने 1999 में महाराष्ट्र के अहमदनगर दक्षिण निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से तीन बार लोकसभा चुनाव जीते। पहली बार 1999 में 13 वीं लोकसभा, उसके बाद 2009 में 15 वीं लोकसभा और फिर 2014 में 16 वीं लोकसभा में।

WEF ने रिन्यू पावर को ग्लोबल लाइटहाउस नेटवर्क का नाम दिया

• रिन्यू पावर (ReNew Power) को विश्व आर्थिक मंच (World Economic Forum-WEF) ग्लोबल लाइटहाउस नेटवर्क का नाम दिया गया है, जो पर्यावरणीय रूप से सतत, सामुदायिक सहायक, लाभदायक वृद्धि हासिल करने के लिए नई तकनीकों का उपयोग करने वाली कंपनियों को मान्यता देती है। रिन्यू पावर एक भारतीय अक्षय ऊर्जा कंपनी है। इसके पास 8 GW से अधिक का परिसंपत्ति आधार है, जिसमें लगभग 5 GW परिचालन है। रिन्यू पार इस साल ग्लोबल लाइटहाउस नेटवर्क द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त दो भारतीय कंपनियों में से एक है।
• WEF ग्लोबल लाइटहाउस नेटवर्क 69 कारखानों का एक समूह है जो वैश्विक विनिर्माण समुदाय के लिए नए बेंचमार्क सेट करते समय क्रॉस-कंपनी सीखने और सहयोग के अवसर पैदा करने, विकसित करने, दोहराने और पैमाने पर नवाचारों के लिए एक मंच के रूप में काम करता है।

RBI: 30 सितंबर तक सभी शाखाओं में लागू होगा इमेज-आधारित चेक ट्रंकेशन सिस्टम

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने बैंकों से इस साल 30 सितंबर तक सभी शाखाओं में इमेज-आधारित चेक ट्रंकेशन सिस्टम (Cheque Truncation System-CTS) को लागू करने के लिए कहा है। इस कदम का उद्देश्य चेक का तेजी से निपटान करना है, जिससे ग्राहक सेवा बेहतर हो। एपेक्स बैंक ने कहा कि CTS की उपलब्धता का लाभ उठाने और उसकी बैंक शाखा के स्थान के बावजूद एक समान ग्राहक अनुभव प्रदान करने के लिए, देश में सभी बैंक शाखाओं में CTS का विस्तार करने का निर्णय लिया गया है। इसे सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए, बैंकों को यह सुनिश्चित करना होगा कि उनकी सभी शाखाएं 30 सितंबर तक संबंधित ग्रिड के तहत इमेज आधारित CTS में भाग लें।
• अब यूके में अधिक आसानी से और तेज़ी से चेक क्लियर करने का एक नया तरीका है।
• इमेज क्लीयरिंग प्रणाली बैंकों और निर्माण समितियों को देश भर में पेपर के विचलन के बजाय चेक की छवियों का आदान-प्रदान करने की अनुमति देती है।
• इस नए दृष्टिकोण का मतलब है कि आप बहुत जल्द पैसा निकाल सकते हैं।

Kuwait Foreign Minister arrives in India for two-day visit

• Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State of Cabinet Affairs of Kuwait Dr Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah arrived India on Wednesday for a two-day visit.
• During his visit, Mohammed Al-Sabah will meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday.
• On March 2, Jaishankar and Al-Sabah had discussed bilateral cooperation and the regional situation between the two countries.
• India recently dispatched a consignment of Indian-made COVID-19 vaccines to assist Kuwait in its fight against the coronavirus.

 WHO declares El Salvador malaria-free

• El Salvador is the first country in Central America to be certified malaria-free by the World Health Organization. WHO grants a certification of malaria elimination when a country proves “beyond a reasonable doubt” that there has been no indigenous transmission of the disease nationwide for the previous three consecutive years.
• El Salvador hasn’t had a malaria outbreak since 1996 and has reported no indigenous cases since 2017. In 1990, the country had 9,000 cases per year, a figure that declined to 26 by 2010. WHO credited El Salvador’s sustained domestic funding for malaria prevention, detection, and treatment for the success.

Hurun India Wealth Report 2020 announced

• The Hurun India Wealth Report, 2020 was released on March 16, 2020. The report identifies a novel household category in India called the ‘New Middle Class’ which accounts for an average savings of Rs 20-lakh per annum. The report highlights that these households have a major allocation towards physical assets like primary residential property and automobiles. As per the report, the total number of such cumulative households in India stands at 633,000.
• The report further states that there are around 4,12,000 dollar-millionaire households or affluent households across India which are having a net worth of Rs 7 crore. As per the report, the Hurun Rich Listers comprise a wealth of Rs 1,000 crore.
• This category of the report comprises 3000 number of cumulative households in India. The ‘Indian middle class’ has earnings of over Rs 2.5-lakh per annum while they have a net worth of less than Rs 7 crore. The ‘Indian Middle Class’ category accounts for 56400,000 families in India.

 Nokia to Develop New 5G Radio Solutions

• The Finnish telecom equipment maker, Nokia has announced on March 16 that it has partnered with Microsoft, Amazon web services and Google so as to develop a new cloud-based 5G radio solution. This solution will be developed with its radio access network (RNA) technology. This partnership was gone with the objective of developing new business cases.
• RAN is part of a mobile telecommunication system. This system implements radio access technology. RAN resides between a device like a computer, mobile phone or any remotely controlled machine. It also provides a connection with the core network.
• Based on the standard mobile phones and other wireless connected devices are called user equipment, terminal equipment or mobile station etc. The functionality of RAN is typically provided by the silicon chip which resides in both the core network and the user equipment.
• The single handset or phone can be connected to multiple radio access networks simultaneously.
• The Handsets which are capable of this feature are called dual-mode handsets. For example, a handset can commonly support both GSM and UMTS or “3G” radio access technologies. Such devices also transfer the ongoing call across different radio access networks without any disruption to users.

• IPL GC(Indian Premier League Governing Council) announced Upstox, one of India’s leading and fastest-growing digital brokerage firms, as an official partner for IPL, which will begin on April 9th, 2021. This will be a multi-year partnership.

 Dhanalakshmi beats Dutee Chand to win Federation Cup gold

• Sprinter S Dhanalakshmi beat national record holder Dutee Chand to win women’s 100m sprint final in the Federation Cup Senior National Athletics Championships in Patiala. The 22-year-old Dhanalakshmi of Tamil Nadu clocked 11.39 seconds to become the fastest woman of the championships. Odisha-based Dutee clocked 11.58 seconds to be placed in second place.
• Another Tamil Nadu runner Archana Suseendran was third in 11.76 seconds. Hima Das was disqualified after a false start. In men’s 100m final category, Gurindervir Singh of Punjab won gold in 10.32 seconds, while Elakkiyadasan Kannada of Tamil Nadu (10.43) and Maharashtra’s Satish Krishnakumar (10.56) were second and third respectively.

 OBITUARY

Former Bangladesh PM Moudud Ahmed passes away

• Barrister Moudud Ahmed, who held various political offices for short stints in the Government of Bangladesh, has passed away. He had served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh (1988–1989), Vice President of Bangladesh (1989–1990), Deputy Prime Minister (1976–1978 and 1987–1988), and Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (2001–2006).
• He was also a standing committee member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

 Audio cassette tape inventor Lou Ottens passes away

• The Dutch inventor of audio cassette tapes, Lou Ottens passed away. Dutch engineer credited with inventing the cassette tape and playing a major role in the development of the first CD. In 1963, Ottens presented the first cassette tape at the Berlin Radio Show electronics fair. After the fair deal signed between Sony and Philips to patent his creation that gained worldwide popularity. Ottens also worked on the CD development project.
• The device that he made was equipped with a directional antenna which he termed as “Germanenfilter” because it was resistant to the jammers used by the Nazi regime. In 1960, Ottens with his team developed the first portable tape recorder and two years later, he invented CDs.

 Former Union Minister Dilip Gandhi passes away

• Former Union Minister and BJP leader, Dilip Gandhi passed away, due to coronavirus. He had served as the Union Minister of State, Ministry of Shipping from 29 January 2003 to 15 March 2004.
• He won the Lok Sabha elections three times since 1999 from Ahmednagar South constituency in Maharashtra. First in 1999 in 13th Lok Sabha, followed by 15th Lok Sabha in 2009 and then 16th Lok Sabha in 2014.

WEF honours ReNew Power named as Global Lighthouse Network

• ReNew Power has been named to the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Global Lighthouse Network, which recognises companies using new technologies to achieve environmentally sustainable, community supportive, profitable growth. ReNew Power is an Indian renewable energy company. It has an asset base of over 8 GW, with around 5 GW operational. ReNew Power is one of the two Indian companies to be recognised by the Global Lighthouse Network this year.
• The WEF Global Lighthouse Network is a group of 69 factories that serve as a platform to develop, replicate, and scale innovations, creating opportunities for cross-company learning and collaboration while setting new benchmarks for the global manufacturing community.

RBI: Image-based Cheque Truncation System in all branches by Sep 30

• The Reserve Bank of India has asked banks to implement the image-based Cheque Truncation System (CTS) in all branches by September 30 this year. The move is aimed at faster settlement of cheques resulting in better customer service. The Apex bank said that to leverage the availability of CTS and provide a uniform customer experience irrespective of the location of her/his bank branch, it has been decided to extend CTS across all bank branches in the country. To facilitate this, banks will have to ensure that all their branches participate in image-based CTS under respective grids by September 30.
• There’s now a new way of clearing cheques more easily and quickly across the UK.
• The Image Clearing System allows banks and building societies to exchange images of cheques instead of moving paper around the country.
• This new approach means you can withdraw money much sooner.
