महाराष्ट्र ने 12 वैश्विक निगमों के साथ 16,100 करोड़ रुपये के एमओयू पर हस्ताक्षर किए

• 15 जून, 2020 को महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने चीन, अमेरिका, दक्षिण कोरिया, सिंगापुर और भारत के 12 वैश्विक निगमों के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
• महाराष्ट्र में निवेश करने वाली कुछ प्रमुख कंपनियों में एक्सॉनमोबिल, ग्रेट वॉल मोटर्स कंपनी, एपीआई मोटर्स और यूनाइटेड फॉस्फोरस शामिल हैं।
• सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी, I-T सक्षम सेवाओं, ऑटोमोबाइल, तेल और पेट्रोलियम, रसायन, रसद और खाद्य प्रसंस्करण क्षेत्रों में विभिन्न विकासात्मक परियोजनाओं के लिए 16,100 करोड़ रुपये के समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। इन परियोजनाओं के लिए लगभग 40,000 एकड़ भूमि को चिह्नित किया गया है।

भारत 12 अन्य देशों के साथ संयुक्त राष्ट्र में  #VERIFIED ’पहल की अगुवाई करेगा

• भारत और 12 अन्य देश संयुक्त राष्ट्र की पहल ‘#VERIFIED’ का नेतृत्व करने के लिए एक साथ आए हैं, जिसका उद्देश्य तथ्य-आधारित सामग्री का प्रसार करके गलत सूचना का सामना करना है।
• अन्य देश ऑस्ट्रेलिया, चिली, फ्रांस, जॉर्जिया, भारत, इंडोनेशिया, लातविया, लेबनान, मॉरीशस, मैक्सिको, नॉर्वे, सेनेगल और दक्षिण अफ्रीका हैं।
• इन 13 राष्ट्रों के अलावा, 132 अन्य राष्ट्र "19" से जुड़ी "इन्फोडेमिक" या हेरफेर की गई जानकारी से लड़ने के लिए वैश्विक कॉल का समर्थन कर रहे हैं।
• संयुक्त राष्ट्र के वैश्विक संचार विभाग (डीजीसी) के नेतृत्व में, 'सत्यापित' तीन विषयों के बारे में जानकारी प्रदान करेगा:

1. विज्ञान - जीवन बचाने के लिए
2. एकजुटता - स्थानीय और वैश्विक सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए
3. समाधान - प्रभावित आबादी के समर्थन के लिए वकालत करना 

भारत ग्लोबल पार्टनरशिप ऑन आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस में हुआ शामिल

भारत ग्लोबल पार्टनरशिप ऑन आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (GPAI या Gee- ay) में बतौर संस्थापक सदस्य के शामिल हो गया है। GPAI को अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन, यूरोपीय संघ, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, कनाडा, फ्रांस, जर्मनी, इटली, जापान, मैक्सिको, न्यूजीलैंड, कोरिया गणराज्य, सिंगापुर सहित भारत जैसे प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के समूह द्वारा लॉन्च किया गया है। प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के बीच इस साझेदारी का उद्देश्य एआई के जिम्मेदारीपूर्ण विकास और मानवाधिकारों, समावेशन, विविधता, नवाचार और आर्थिक विकास में उपयोग का मार्गदर्शन करना है।

जीपीएआई  एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय और बहु-हितधारक पहल है जो  प्रतिभागी देशों के के अनुभव और विविधता का उपयोग करके एआई से जुड़ी चुनौतियों और अवसरों की बेहतर समझ विकसित करने का अपने किस्‍म का पहला प्रयास भी है। यह जिम्मेदारीपूर्ण विकास को बढ़ावा देने के लिए साझेदारों और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संगठनों के सहयोग से उद्योग, नागरिक समाज, सरकारों और शिक्षाविदों के प्रमुख विशेषज्ञों को एक साथ लाएगा।

अनमोल नारंग वेस्ट प्वाइंट में यूएस मिलिट्री अकादमी से ग्रेजुएट होने वाले पहले पर्यवेक्षक  सिख बन गए

अनमोल नारंग ने वेस्ट पॉइंट पर प्रतिष्ठित यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स मिलिट्री अकादमी से स्नातक करने वाले पहले पर्यवेक्षक सिख बनकर इतिहास रच दिया है, और दूसरा लेफ्टिनेंट को उम्मीद है कि उनके धर्म और समुदाय का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के उनके प्रयास अमेरिकियों को सिख धर्म के बारे में अधिक जानने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करेंगे।

अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प ने शनिवार को अकादमी के वार्षिक आयोजन के लिए एकत्रित 23 वर्षीय नारंग सहित 1,107 स्नातकों को संबोधित किया।

उत्तराखंड के लोकप्रिय लोक गायक हीरा सिंह राणा का निधन

उत्तराखंड के लोकप्रिय लोक गायक हीरा सिंह राणा का निधन। उनका जन्म 1942 में अल्मोड़ा के मनीला दंडोली गाँव में हुआ था। हाल ही में उन्हें दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा गढ़वाल, कुमाऊँनी और जौनसारी अकादमी का उपाध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया था।

1980 और 1990 के दशक में, उनके गीत "रंगीले बिन्दी घनघरी कई धोती लाल किनारा यई है-हेयर रे मिजाता" राज्य के पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में बहुत लोकप्रिय हुए थे। उनके गीत "त्यार पहाड-म्यार पहाड होई दुखों को दयार पहाड़" में पहाड़ियों की पलायन समस्या को दर्शाया गया है।

IMD की प्रतिस्पर्धा रैंकिंग में भारत 43वें स्थान पर कायम, सिंगापुर टॉप पर

भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था इंस्टिट्यूट आफ मैनेजमेंट डेवलपमेंट (आईएमडी) तैयार किए जाने वाले वैश्विक प्रतिस्पर्धा-क्षमता सूचकांक में इस साल भी 43वें स्थान पर बनी रही। कुल 63 देशों की इस सूची में सिंगापुर पहले स्थान पर बरकरार है। वहीं डेनमार्क दूसरे स्थान पर आ गया है। पिछले साल वह आठवें स्थान पर था। वहीं स्विट्जरलैंड एक स्थान चढ़कर तीसरे स्थान पर आ गया है। नीदरलैंड चौथे स्थान पर कायम है। वहीं हांगकांग फिसलकर पांचवें स्थान पर पहुंच गया है। 2019 में वह दूसरे स्थान पर था। वहीं अमेरिका भी फिसलकर तीसरे से दसवें स्थान पर पहुंच गया है। चीन की बात करें तो यह 14वें से 20वें स्थान पर पहुंच गया है।

आईएमडी की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार प्रतिस्पर्धात्मक शक्ति के मामले में भारत की कुछ परंपरागत कमजोरियां मसलन कमजोर बुनियादी ढांचा और शिक्षा में अपर्याप्त निवेश अभी कायम हैं। ब्रिक्स (ब्राजील, रूस, भारत, चीन और दक्षिण अफ्रीका) में भारत का स्थान चीन के बाद है। रूस 50वें, ब्राजील 56वें और दक्षिण अफ्रीका 59वें स्थान पर है। 

भारत 2019 में FDI पाने वाला 9वां सबसे बड़ा देश,

भारत को साल 2019 में 51 अरब डॉलर का विदेशी निवेश प्राप्त हुआ और वह साल के दौरान दुनियाभर में अधिक प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश (FDI) पाने वाले देशों में नौवें नंबर पर रहा है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ की व्यापार इकाई की एक रिपोर्ट में यह जानकारी दी गई है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र के व्यापार एवं विकास सम्मेलन (UNCTAD) ने एक रिपोर्ट में कहा है कि भारत में महामारी के बाद कमजोर लेकिन सकारात्मक आर्थिक वृद्धि हासिल होने और भारत के व्यापक बाजार देश के लिए निवेश आकर्षित करते रहेंगे।

UNCTAD की विश्व निवेश रिपोर्ट 2020 में कहा गया है कि भारत 2019 में 51 अरब डालर का प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश हासिल करने साथ साल के दौरान दुनियाभर में नौवें नंबर पर रहा। इसे पिछले साल 2018 में भारत को 42 अरब डॉलर का एफडीआई प्राप्त हुआ था। तब भारत एफडीआई पाने वाले शीर्ष 20 देशों में 12वें नंबर पर रहा था।

वर्ल्ड विंड डे अथवा ग्लोबल विंड डे: 15 जून

World Wind Day: वर्ल्ड विंड डे, जिसे ग्लोबल विंड डे के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, हर साल 15 जून को मनाया जाता है। यह दिन दुनियां भर में पवन ऊर्जा का उपयोग और उसकी शक्ति के प्रति लोगों में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए मनाया जाता, जो ऊर्जा का एक प्राकृतिक रूप है और यह उन सभी तरीकों पर भी प्रकाश डालता है जो पवन ऊर्जा ऊर्जा प्रणालियों को आकार देने में मदद करता है, और यह किस प्रकार से समाज में आर्थिक और अन्य विकास को प्रोत्साहित करता है। ग्लोबल विंड डे की शुरुआत यूरोप में वर्ष 2007 हुई थी जबकि वैश्विक स्तर पर 2009 में हुई थी। 

विश्व बुजुर्ग दुर्व्‍यवहार रोकथाम जागरूकता दिवस: 15 जून

विश्व बुजुर्ग दुर्व्‍यवहार रोकथाम जागरूकता दिवस (World Elder Abuse Awareness Day)15 जून को मनाया जा रहा है। इस दिन को हर साल 15 जून को बुजुर्ग लोगों के साथ दुर्व्यवहार और पीड़ा के विरोध में आवाज उठाने के लिए मनाया जाता है।

दिसंबर 2011 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा आधिकारिक रूप से इसे मान्यता दी गई थी।

Maharashtra signs MOUs worth Rs 16,100 crore with 12 global corporations

• Maharashtra government on June 15, 2020 signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with 12 global corporations from China, US, South Korea, Singapore and India.
• Some of the prominent companies investing in Maharashtra include ExxonMobil, Great Wall Motors Company, API Motors and United Phosphorus.
• The Memorandum of Understanding worth Rs 16,100 crore were signed for various developmental projects in information technology, I-T enabled services, automobile, oil and petroleum, chemicals, logistics and food processing sectors. Around 40,000-acre land has been earmarked for these projects. 

India along with 12 other Countries leads ‘#VERIFIED’ initiative at UN

• India and 12 other countries have come together to lead United Nations initiative ‘#VERIFIED’, which aims to counter misinformation by spreading fact-based content.
• The other countries are Australia, Chile, France, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Latvia, Lebanon, Mauritius, Mexico, Norway, Senegal and South Africa.
• Apart from these 13 nations, 132 other nations are endorsing the global call to fight the “infodemic” or manipulated information relating to the C-19 .
• Led by the UN Department for Global Communications (DGC),’Verified’ will provide information around three themes:

1. science — to save lives
2. solidarity — to promote local and global cooperation
3. solutions — to advocate for support to impacted populations 

India becomes founding member of Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence

• India has become the Founding Member of the Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), a global multi-stakeholder initiative. The initiative guides the development and use of Artificial Intelligence which is grounded in diversity, human rights, innovation and economic growth.
• The initiative will also work towards facing challenges around the Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• GPAI was launched by a group of leading economies namely UK, EU, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Italy, Japan, USA, Mexico, New Zealand and India.

Anmol Narang becomes 1st observant Sikh to graduate from US Military Academy

• Anmol Narang has made history by becoming the 1st observant Sikh to graduate from the distinguished United States (US) Military Academy at West Point. She was among about 1,100 cadets who graduated at the premier institution’s campus in New York with the rank of 2nd lieutenant.
• She is hopeful that her efforts to represent her religion and community will encourage Americans to find out more about Sikhism. She was born and raised in Roswell, Georgia. Acquisitions and Mergers

Uttarakhand folk singer Heera Singh Rana passes away

• Noted folk singer of Uttarakhand, Heera Singh Rana passed away. He was born in 1942 in Manila Dandholi village of Almora. He visited Kolkata with a scholarship to review music.
• Recently he was appointed vice-chairman of Garhwal, Kumaoni and Jaunsari Academy by the govt of Delhi. 

Ranking

IMD’s World Competitiveness Index ranks India at 43rd; Singapore tops the list

• An annual World Competitiveness Index compiled by Institute for Management Development (IMD) has ranked India at the 43rd position.
• Singapore has successfully retained the top position on the 63rd nation list. Denmark has moved up to the 2nd position, it was 8th last year. Switzerland has ranked 3rd while Netherland has retained its 4th place. Hing Kong has secured the 5th place, it was 2nd in 2019.
• India has ranked 41st on the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking every year since 1989. It slipped to 45th in 2017 but improved to 44th in 2018 and then to 43rd in 2019. The ranking is produced by the business school based in Switzerland and Singapore. 

India 9th largest FDI recipient in 2019: UN

• India received USD 51 billion in foreign investment in 2019, stated the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in its report. India was among the top five FDI recipient economies in the developing Asia region and the largest in South Asia.
• The report revealed that India was the world's ninth-largest recipient of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) and it said that the nation’s large market will continue to attract market-seeking investments.
• The foreign direct investment in India has increased by 20 percent, sustaining the country's upward FDI trend. Most of the investments were in information and communication technology and the construction industry.

• World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is marked every year on 15 June to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic, and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.
• The theme in 2020 for WEAAD is “Lifting Up Voices”. 

Global Wind Day

• Every year the Global Wind Day is celebrated worldwide on 15 June to spread awareness about wind energy, the various uses of wind energy, and the ways and possibilities as to how wind energy can help change the world.
• 2020 marks the 13th year of Global Wind Day.
