अरुणाचल प्रदेश ने बड़े, चमकीले रंग के कैसर-ए-हिंद को राज्य तितली के रूप में मंजूरी दी

• मुख्यमंत्री पेमा खांडू की अध्यक्षता में अरुणाचल प्रदेश के राज्य मंत्रिमंडल ने "कैसर-ए-हिंद" को राज्य तितली के रूप में मंजूरी दी। कैसर-ए-हिंद को वैज्ञानिक रूप से टीनोपालपस इम्पीरियलिस के रूप में जाना जाता है। शाब्दिक अर्थ में इसका अर्थ भारत का सम्राट होता है। तितली का पंख 90-120 मिमी का होता है। यह पूर्वी हिमालय के साथ छह राज्यों में एक अच्छी तरह से जंगली इलाके में 6,000-10,000 फीट की ऊंचाई पर पाया जाता है।
• कैसर-ए-हिंद वन्यजीव (संरक्षण) अधिनियम, 1972 की अनुसूची II के तहत संरक्षित है। इसके बावजूद, तितली संग्राहकों को आपूर्ति के लिए उनका शिकार किया जाता है। इंटरनेशनल यूनियन फॉर कंजर्वेशन ऑफ नेचर ने कैसर-ए-हिंद को रेड लिस्ट कर दिया है।
• कैसर-ए-हिंद' एक बड़ी और चमकीले रंग की तितली है।
• यह एक मायावी स्वालोटेल बटरफ्लाई है, जिसके नाम में 'इंडिया' है।

• भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (BCCI) के अध्यक्ष सौरव गांगुली ने पुष्टि की है कि भारत के पूर्व बल्लेबाज वीवीएस लक्ष्मण राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट अकादमी (NCA) के अगले प्रमुख होंगे। लक्ष्मण अपने पूर्व बल्लेबाजी सहयोगी राहुल द्रविड़ का स्थान लेंगे, जिन्हें हाल ही में रवि शास्त्री का कार्यकाल समाप्त होने के बाद भारतीय टीम का मुख्य कोच नियुक्त किया गया था।

विश्व प्रसिद्ध लेखक विल्बर स्मिथ का 88 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रशंसित जाम्बिया में जन्मे दक्षिण अफ्रीकी लेखक विल्बर स्मिथ का निधन हो गया है। वह 88 वर्ष के थे। वैश्विक बेस्टसेलिंग लेखक ने 49 उपन्यास लिखे हैं और विश्‍व भर में 30 से अधिक भाषाओं में 140 मिलियन से अधिक प्रतियां बेची हैं। वह 1964 में अपने पहले उपन्यास "व्हेन द लायन फीड्स " से प्रसिद्धि के लिए बढ़े, जो 15 सीक्वल के साथ फिल्म में बदल गया। स्मिथ ने 2018 में अपनी आत्मकथा "ऑन लेपर्ड रॉक" प्रकाशित की थी।

राष्ट्रीय मिर्गी दिवस 2021: 17 नवंबर

• भारत में, मिर्गी के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष 17 नवंबर को मिर्गी फाउंडेशन द्वारा राष्ट्रीय मिर्गी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। मिर्गी मस्तिष्क का एक पुराना विकार है जिसके लक्षण आवर्तक 'दौरे' या 'फिट' है। नवंबर का महीना 'राष्ट्रीय मिर्गी जागरूकता माह' के रूप में मनाया जाता है।
• मिर्गी लगातार न्यूरोलॉजिकल अव्यवस्था का एक विविध सेट है जिससे अचानक दौरे पड़ते है।
• मस्तिष्क में असामान्य और चरम गतिविधियों के कारण मिर्गी के दौरे पड़ते हैं और दौरे भी हाइपरसिंक्रोनस न्यूरोनल मस्तिष्क गतिविधि से उत्पन्न होते हैं।
• विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) के अनुसार, विश्‍व भर में 50 मिलियन से अधिक लोग मिर्गी के शिकार है, जो इसे सबसे आम न्यूरोलॉजिकल रोगों में से एक बनाता है।
• लगभग 80% मिर्गी से पीड़ित लोग निम्न और मध्यम आय वाले देशों में रहते हैं। यह अनुमान लगाया जाता है कि मिर्गी से पीड़ित 70% से अधिक लोगों का उचित निदान और उपचार करने ये बिना दौरे आए रह सकते हैं।

विश्व सीओपीडी दिवस: नवंबर का तीसरा बुधवार

• विश्व सीओपीडी दिवस प्रतिवर्ष नवंबर के तीसरे बुधवार को क्रॉनिक ऑब्सट्रक्टिव पल्मोनरी डिजीज (COPD) के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने और विश्‍व भर में सीओपीडी देखभाल में सुधार के लिए मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष विश्व सीओपीडी दिवस 17 नवंबर 2021 को मनाया गया। 2021 की थीम है हेल्दी लंग्स - नेवर मोर इम्पोर्टेन्ट।
• इस दिन का आयोजन ग्लोबल इनिशिएटिव फॉर क्रॉनिक ऑब्सट्रक्टिव लंग डिजीज (GOLD) द्वारा विश्‍व भर में स्वास्थ्य देखभाल पेशेवरों और सीओपीडी रोगी समूहों के सहयोग से किया जाता है। पहला विश्व सीओपीडी दिवस 2002 में आयोजित किया गया था। क्रॉनिक ऑब्सट्रक्टिव पल्मोनरी डिजीज एक फेफड़ों की बीमारी है जो वायु प्रवाह को अवरुद्ध करती है और सांस लेने में मुश्किल बनाती है।

लेखक एम मुकुंदन ने अपने उपन्यास 'दिल्ली: ए सोलिलोकी' के लिए साहित्य 2021 का जेसीबी पुरस्कार जीता

• लेखक एम मुकुंदन ने अपनी पुस्तक 'दिल्ली: ए सोलिलोकी' के लिए साहित्य के लिए 2021 जेसीबी पुरस्कार जीता। पुस्तक, जो मूल रूप से मलयालम में लिखी गई है, का अनुवाद फातिमा ईवी और नंदकुमार के द्वारा अंग्रेजी में किया गया है। वेस्टलैंड द्वारा प्रकाशित उपन्यास, इसके मलयाली युवा नायक की आंखों के माध्यम से दिल्ली के बारे में एक कहानी है।
• मुकुंदन को पुरस्कार ट्रॉफी भी मिली, जो दिल्ली के दो कलाकारों ठुकराल और टागरा द्वारा बनाई गई है, जिसको “मिरर मेल्टिंग” का नाम दिया गया है और उन्हें 25 लाख रुपये की पुरस्कार राशि मिलेगी। पिछले चार वर्षों में जेसीबी पुरस्कार जीतने वाला यह तीसरा अनुवाद है। इस पुरस्कार के लिए जूरी में सारा राय (अध्यक्ष), अन्नपूर्णा गरिमेला, शहनाज हबीब, प्रेम पनिकर और अमित वर्मा शामिल थे।

वायु गुणवत्ता सूचकांक: दिल्ली, कोलकाता, मुंबई विश्‍व के शीर्ष 10 प्रदूषित शहरों में शामिल

• स्विट्जरलैंड स्थित एक जलवायु समूह IQAir की वायु गुणवत्ता और प्रदूषण सिटी ट्रैकिंग सेवा के आंकड़ों के अनुसार, दिल्ली, कोलकाता और मुंबई विश्‍व के शीर्ष दस सबसे प्रदूषित शहरों में से हैं। 556 पर एक्यूआई के साथ दिल्ली शीर्ष पर है, कोलकाता और मुंबई ने क्रमशः 177 और 169 की एक्यूआई के साथ चौथे और छठे स्थान पर है। सबसे खराब एक्यूआई सूचकांक वाले शहरों में पाकिस्तान में लाहौर और चीन में चेंगदू भी शामिल हैं।

बैंकिंग और आर्थिक

आरबीआई ने चुनिंदा एनबीएफसी के लिए आंतरिक लोकपाल तंत्र का अनावरण किया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने निम्नलिखित दो प्रकार की गैर-बैंकिंग वित्तीय कंपनियों (एनबीएफसी) के लिए आंतरिक लोकपाल तंत्र शुरू करने की घोषणा की है। ये दो प्रकार की NBFC 10 या अधिक शाखाओं वाली जमा स्वीकार करने वाली NBFC (NBFC-D) और 5,000 करोड़ रुपये और उससे अधिक की संपत्ति के साथ जमा न करने वाली NBFC (NBFC-ND) हैं, जिनका सार्वजनिक ग्राहक इंटरफ़ेस है।
• नतीजतन, एनबीएफसी की इन दो श्रेणियों को आंतरिक लोकपाल (आईओ) नियुक्त करना होगा। आरबीआई में लोकपाल के पास शिकायत भेजने से पहले आंतरिक लोकपाल इकाई स्तर पर सार्वजनिक शिकायत को संभालने के लिए जिम्मेदार होगा। आरबीआई ने आंतरिक लोकपाल की नियुक्ति के लिए एनबीएफसी को छह महीने का समय दिया है।

एचडीएफसी बैंक ने धोखाधड़ी की रोकथाम पर जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए " मुंह बंद रखो" अभियान का दूसरा संस्करण लॉन्च किया

• एचडीएफसी बैंक लिमिटेड ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय धोखाधड़ी जागरूकता सप्ताह 2021 (14-20 नवंबर, 2021) के समर्थन में धोखाधड़ी की रोकथाम पर जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए अपने " मुंह बंद रखो" अभियान का दूसरा संस्करण शुरू किया है। एचडीएफसी बैंक का उद्देश्य सभी प्रकार की धोखाधड़ी के बारे में अपने ग्राहकों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना और उनकी रोकथाम सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अपना मुंह बंद रखने का महत्व और प्रतिज्ञा लेना और किसी के साथ गोपनीय बैंकिंग जानकारी साझा नहीं करना है। एचडीएफसी बैंक इस अभियान के तहत अगले चार महीनों में 2,000 कार्यशालाओं का आयोजन करेगा।

Arunachal Pradesh has approved the large, brightly coloured Kaiser-i-Hind as the State butterfly

• State Cabinet of Arunachal Pradesh, headed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, approved “Kaiser-i-Hind” as the state butterfly. Kaiser-i-Hind is scientifically known as Teinopalpus imperialis. In literal terms, it means Emperor of India. The butterfly is having a wingspan of 90-120 mm. It is found across six States along Eastern Himalayas at elevations from 6,000-10,000 feet in a well-wooded terrain.
• The Kaiser-i-Hind is protected under Schedule II of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. Despite that, they are hunted for the supply to butterfly collectors. International Union for Conservation of Nature has red-listed the Kaiser-i-Hind.
• Kaiser-i-Hind’ is a large and brightly coloured butterfly.
• It is an elusive swallowtail butterfly, which carries ‘India’ in its name.
• They also flutter in Bhutan, Nepal, Laos, Myanmar, southern China and Vietnam.

VVS Laxman to take charge as NCA head

• Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President, Sourav Ganguly has confirmed, that former India batter VVS Laxman will be the next head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Laxman will take over from his former batting colleague Rahul Dravid, who was recently appointed as chief coach of the Indian team following the end of Ravi Shastri’s tenure.

World-renowned writer Wilbur Smith died at the aged 88

• Internationally acclaimed Zambia-born South African author, Wilbur Smith has passed away. He was 88. The global bestselling author has authored 49 novels and sold over 140 million copies worldwide in more than 30 languages. He rose to fame in 1964 with his debut novel “When the Lion Feeds” which turned in the movie with 15 sequels. Smith published his autobiography “On Leopard Rock” in 2018.

National Epilepsy Day 2021: 17th November

• In India, November 17 is observed every year as National Epilepsy Day by the Epilepsy Foundation, to create awareness about epilepsy. Epilepsy is a chronic disorder of the brain characterized by recurrent ‘seizures’ or ‘fits’. The month of November is observed as ‘National Epilepsy Awareness Month’.
• Epilepsy is a varied set of persistent neurological disarray and causes sudden seizures and fits.
• The seizures of epilepsy result due to the unusual and extreme activities in the brain and the seizures also result from hypersynchronous neuronal brain activity.
• According to the World Health Organisation(WHO), more than 50 million people across the globe have epilepsy, which makes it one of the most common neurological diseases.

World COPD Day third Wednesday of November

• World COPD Day is observed on the third Wednesday of November every year to raise awareness about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and improve COPD care throughout the world. The World COPD Day 2021 falls on November 17, 2021. The 2021 theme is Healthy Lungs – Never More Important.
• The day is organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) in collaboration with health care professionals and COPD patient groups throughout the world. The first World COPD Day was held in 2002. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a lung disease that blocks airflow and makes it difficult to breathe.

Author M Mukundan wins JCB Prize for Literature 2021 for his novel ‘Delhi: A Soliloquy’

• Author M Mukundan won the 2021 JCB prize for Literature, for his book ‘Delhi: A Soliloquy’. The book, which has originally been written in Malayalam has been translated into English by Fathima EV and Nandakumar K. The novel, published by Westland, is a story about Delhi through the eyes of its Malayali youth protagonists.
• Mukundan received the Prize trophy, which is a sculpture by Delhi artist duo Thukral and Tagra entitled ‘Mirror Melting’, and he will receive a prize amount of Rs 25 lakh. This is the third translation to have won the JCB award in the last four years. The jury for this award comprised Sara Rai (Chair), Annapurna Garimella, Shahnaz Habib, Prem Panicker, and Amit Varma.

Air Quality Index: Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai among world’s top 10 polluted cities

• According to the data from air quality and pollution city tracking service from IQAir, a Switzerland-based climate group, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai are among the top ten most polluted cities of the world. Delhi topped the list with AQI at 556, Kolkata and Mumbai recorded an AQI of 177 and 169, respectively, at 4th and 6th position. The cities with the worst AQI indices also include Lahore, in Pakistan, and Chengdu, in China.

RBI unveils Internal Ombudsman mechanism for select NBFCs

• The Reserve Bank of India has announced to introduce the Internal Ombudsman mechanism for the following two types of Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs). These two types of NBFCs are Deposit-taking NBFCs (NBFCs-D) with 10 or more branches and Non-Deposit taking NBFCs (NBFCs-ND) with asset size of Rs.5,000 crore and above having public customer interface.
• Consequently, these two categories of NBFCs will have to appoint Internal Ombudsman (IO). The internal Ombudsman will be responsible for handling the public grievance at the entity level before the grievance is escalated to Ombudsman at RBI. RBI has given a timeline of six months to the NBFCs for the appointment of the Internal Ombudsman.

HDFC Bank launches the second edition of “Mooh Band Rakho” campaign to raise awareness on fraud prevention

• HDFC Bank Ltd has launched the second edition of its “Mooh Band Rakho” campaign to raise awareness on fraud prevention in support of International Fraud Awareness Week 2021 (November 14-20, 2021). HDFC Bank aims to increase awareness of its customers on all types of frauds and the importance of keeping your mouth shut to ensure their prevention and taking a pledge and not share confidential banking information with anyone. HDFC Bank will organise 2,000 workshops in the next four months under this campaign.
