अफगानिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति अशरफ गनी ने पद छोड़ दिया, जैसा कि  सरकार ने तालिबान बलों के सामने आत्मसमर्पण किया

• अफगानिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति अशरफ गनी अफगान छोड़कर चले गये हैं और माना जा रहा है कि वह जल्द ही अपना इस्तीफा दे देंगे, क्योंकि सरकार ने तालिबान बलों के काबुल में प्रवेश करके केंद्र सरकार के बिना शर्त आत्मसमर्पण की मांग के बाद उनके सामने समर्पण कर दिया है। फिलहाल, एक नई अंतरिम सरकार की घोषणा की गई है, जिसका नेतृत्व अमेरिका के शिक्षाविद अली अहमद जलाली कर सकते हैं।
• अफगानिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति अशरफ गनी ने अपने फेसबुक पोस्ट में अपने देश छोड़ने की वजह बताते हुए लिखा है कि वह इसलिए अफगानिस्तान से भागे ताकि लोगों को ज्यादा खून-खराबा न देखना पड़े. भारत स्थित दूतावास से भी उनके खिलाफ ट्वीट किए गए थे, जिन्हें बाद में डिलीट कर दिया गया.
• वाशिंगटन में, 11 सितंबर, 2001 के हमलों के बाद शुरू हुए अमेरिका के सबसे लंबे युद्ध को समाप्त करने के राष्ट्रपति जो बिडेन के फैसले के विरोध शुरू हुआ। अमेरिकी राजनयिकों को किलबंद वज़ीर अकबर खान जिले में उनके दूतावास से हवाई अड्डे के लिए हेलीकॉप्टर से ले जाया गया था, क्योंकि वर्षों तक प्रशिक्षित और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका और अन्य द्वारा अरबों डॉलर की लागत से सुसज्जित अफगान सेना कमज़ोर पड़ गई थी।

सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय ने एक ऑनलाइन पोर्टल "TAPAS" लॉन्च किया

• सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय ने सामाजिक रक्षा के क्षेत्र में फिल्माए गए व्याख्यान/पाठ्यक्रम और ई-अध्ययन सामग्री प्रदान करने के लिए TAPAS (प्रशिक्षण उत्पादकता और सेवाओं के लिए प्रशिक्षण/Training for Augmenting Productivity and Services) नामक एक ऑनलाइन पोर्टल लॉन्च किया है। TAPAS सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय के राष्ट्रीय सामाजिक रक्षा संस्थान (NISD) की पहल है। यह कोर्स कोई भी कर सकता है और यह मुफ़्त है।

वर्तमान में TAPAS के तहत 5 पाठ्यक्रम हैं:

• ड्रग (पदार्थ) के दुरुपयोग की रोकथाम,
• जराचिकित्सा/बुजुर्गों की देखभाल,
• मनोभ्रंश की देखभाल और प्रबंधन,
• ट्रांसजेंडर मुद्दे और
• सामाजिक सुरक्षा के मुद्दों पर एक व्यापक पाठ्यक्रम।

MoHUA ने शहरी स्वयं सहायता समूह के उत्पादों 'सोन चिरैया' के लिए ब्रांड और लोगो लॉन्च किया

• आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्रालय ने शहरी स्वयं सहायता समूह (एसएचजी) उत्पादों के विपणन के लिए एक ब्रांड और लोगो 'सोन चिरैया' लॉन्च किया है। शहरी एसएचजी उत्पादों को लोकप्रिय बनाने के लिए मंत्रालय ने एमेजॉन और फ्लिपकार्ट जैसे ई-कॉमर्स पोर्टलों के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं, जिसमें महिला सशक्तिकरण की अंतर्निहित कहानी है। इस साझेदारी के कारण, लगभग 5,000 एसएचजी सदस्यों के 2,000 से अधिक उत्पादों को ई-कॉमर्स पोर्टल पर जोड़ा गया है।
• यह पहल शहरी एसएचजी महिलाओं द्वारा बनाए गए उत्पादों के लिए दृश्यता और वैश्विक पहुंच बढ़ाने का एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है। इस पहल के तहत, विभिन्न प्रकार के पेशेवर रूप से पैक किए गए और हाथ से तैयार किए गए एथनिक उत्पाद विश्‍व भर के ग्राहकों के दरवाजे तक पहुंचेंगे।

 भारत का पहला ड्रोन फोरेंसिक लैब और रिसर्च सेंटर अब केरल में

• भारत का पहला ड्रोन फोरेंसिक लैब एंड रिसर्च सेंटर केरल में स्थापित किया गया है। केरल के मुख्यमंत्री, पिनाराई विजयन केरल राज्य पुलिस साइबरडोम में राज्य पुलिस विभाग की 'ड्रोन फोरेंसिक प्रयोगशाला' का उद्घाटन कर रहे थे। साइबरडोम केरल पुलिस विभाग का एक तकनीकी अनुसंधान और विकास केंद्र है।
• केंद्र अनधिकृत ड्रोन पर नजर रखने और पुलिस बल के उपयोग के लिए ड्रोन के उत्पादन के लिए भी मदद करेगा। यह लैब-कम-रिसर्च सेंटर ड्रोन की उपयोगिता और खतरे दोनों पहलुओं पर गौर करेगा।
• पुलिस ने ड्रोन फोरेंसिक के अपेक्षाकृत नए क्षेत्र में मजबूती से कदम रखा है। इसने हाल ही में जम्मू-कश्मीर के कठुआ जिले में अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा के पास सीमा सुरक्षा बल (बीएसएफ) द्वारा नीचे लाए गए एक ड्रोन का विश्लेषण किया था और स्थानीय प्रवर्तन को इसके अवैध संचालक पर शून्य करने में मदद की थी।

डॉ जितेंद्र सिंह (पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्री) ने भारत की पहली मवेशी जीनोमिक चिप "इंडीगौ" जारी की

• डॉ जितेंद्र सिंह ने देशी मवेशियों की नस्लों जैसे गिर, कांकरेज, साहीवाल, ओंगोल आदि की शुद्ध किस्मों के संरक्षण के लिए भारत की पहली मवेशी जीनोमिक चिप 'इंडीगौ' जारी की है।
• चिप को जैव प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग के तत्वावधान में एक स्वायत्त संस्थान, राष्ट्रीय पशु जैव प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (एनएआईबी), हैदराबाद के वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा विकसित किया गया है। चिप बेहतर चरित्रों के साथ हमारी अपनी नस्लों के संरक्षण के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने में मदद करेगी और 2022 तक किसानों की आय को दोगुना करने में मदद करेगी।

 विज्ञान प्रौद्योगिकी

भारत के चंद्रयान -2 ऑर्बिटर (2019) में चंद्र सतह पर पानी के अणुओं का पता लगाया

• भारत के चंद्रयान-2 चंद्रमा मिशन ने 2019 में भले ही चंद्र सतह पर कठिन लैंडिंग की हो, लेकिन इसके साथ आने वाला ऑर्बिटर पृथ्वी पर वापस वैज्ञानिकों को उपयोगी जानकारी प्रदान करता रहा है। एक शोध पत्र से पता चला कि चंद्रयान -2 ऑर्बिटर ने चंद्रमा की सतह पर पानी के अणुओं (H2o) और हाइड्रॉक्सिल (OH) की उपस्थिति की पुष्टि की। निष्कर्ष वर्तमान विज्ञान पत्रिका में प्रकाशित किए गए थे।
• "आईआईआरएस से प्रारंभिक डेटा विश्लेषण स्पष्ट रूप से व्यापक चंद्र जलयोजन की उपस्थिति और 29 डिग्री उत्तर और 62 डिग्री उत्तरी अक्षांश के बीच ओएच और एच2ओ हस्ताक्षरों की स्पष्ट पहचान को दर्शाता है। यह खोज ऑर्बिटर के इमेजिंग इंफ्रारेड स्पेक्ट्रोमीटर (IIRS) द्वारा की गई थी।

इंडियन बैंक ने भारतीय पैरालंपिक समिति (पीसीआई) के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए

• सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के इंडियन बैंक ने 24 अगस्त से जापान के टोक्यो में शुरू होने वाले पैरालंपिक खेलों के बैंकिंग भागीदारों में से एक के रूप में भारत की पैरालंपिक समिति (PCI) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। बैंक, PCI के साथ अपने वर्ष भर के सहयोग के माध्यम से, पैरालंपिक एथलीटों को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करेगा। भारत की पैरालंपिक समिति की अध्यक्ष दीपा मलिक हैं।
• एक वर्ष तक चलने वाले एसोसिएशन में, बैंक पैरालंपिक एथलीटों को घरेलू क्षेत्र के साथ-साथ वैश्विक प्लेटफार्मों में प्रतिष्ठित खेल आयोजनों की तैयारी के लिए वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करेगा। इन खिलाड़ियों को समय पर प्रदान की जाने वाली वित्तीय सहायता उन्हें खेल पर अपने प्रयासों पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने और देश के लिए सम्मान जीतने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करेगी।

75वां भारतीय स्वतंत्रता दिवस 2021

• भारत ने लगभग दो शताब्दियों के ब्रिटिश औपनिवेशिक शासन से देश की स्वतंत्रता को चिह्नित करने के लिए 15 अगस्त 2021 को 75 वां स्वतंत्रता दिवस मनाया। भारत अपने 75वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस को "आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव" के रूप में मना रहा है। प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने नई दिल्ली में लाल किले से समारोह का नेतृत्व किया और नई दिल्ली में लाल किले से राष्ट्र को संबोधित किया। बतौर प्रधानमंत्री यह उनका आठवां संबोधन है।
• पहली बार, जैसे ही पीएम द्वारा झंडा फहराया गया, अमृत फॉर्मेशन में भारतीय वायु सेना के दो Mi-17 1V हेलीकॉप्टरों द्वारा कार्यक्रम स्थल पर फूलों की पंखुड़ियों की वर्षा की गई। केंद्र ने लाल किले में 32 एथलीटों – जिन्होंने ओलंपिक में पदक जीते हैं और भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण (SAI) के दो अधिकारियों को आमंत्रित किया था।
• भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन प्रथम विश्व युद्ध के दौरान शुरू हुआ और इसका नेतृत्व मोहनदास करमचंद गांधी ने किया था। 15 अगस्त 1947 को लगभग 200 वर्ष के ब्रिटिश शासन को समाप्त करते हुए भारत को आजादी मिली। भारत के पहले प्रधान मंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरू ने 15 अगस्त, 1947 को दिल्ली में लाल किले के लाहौरी गेट के ऊपर भारतीय राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया। यह एक परंपरा है जिसका पालन वर्तमान प्रधान मंत्री द्वारा किया जाता है, इसके बाद वह देश का संबोधन करते हैं।

 पीएम मोदी ने 14 अगस्त को 'विभाजन भयावह स्मृति दिवस' के रूप में घोषित किया

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने घोषणा की है कि, 1947 में देश के विभाजन के दौरान लोगों के संघर्षों और बलिदानों की याद में, 14 अगस्त को विभाजन विभीषिका स्मृति दिवस' के रूप में मनाया जाएगा।
• इस दिन का उद्देश्य हमें भेदभाव, दुश्मनी और दुर्भावना के जहर को खत्म करने के साथ-साथ एकता, सामाजिक सद्भाव और मानवीय संवेदनाओं को मजबूत करने के लिए प्रेरित करना है। पाकिस्तान 14 अगस्त को अपना स्वतंत्रता दिवस मनाता है।

Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani steps down, as the government surrendered to the Taliban forces

• Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani will shortly tender his resignation, as the government has surrendered to the Taliban forces, which entered Kabul and sought the unconditional surrender of the central government. Following this, a new interim government has been announced, which is likely to be headed by Ali Ahamd Jalali, a US-based academic.
• President Ashraf Ghani fled the country as the Islamist terrorists entered the city, he wanted to avoid bloodshed, while hundreds of Afghans desperate to leave flooded Kabul airport.
• In Washington, opponents of President Joe Biden’s decision to end America’s longest war, launched after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. American diplomats were flown by helicopter to the airport from their embassy in the fortified Wazir Akbar Khan district as Afghan forces, trained for years and equipped by the United States and others at a cost of billions of dollars, melted away.

Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment launched an online portal “TAPAS”

• Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has launched an online portal named TAPAS (Training for Augmenting Productivity and Services) to provide filmed lectures/courses and e-study material in the field of social defence. TAPAS is the initiative of the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The course can be taken up by anyone and is free of cost.

Presently there are 5 courses under TAPAS:

• Drug (Substance) Abuse Prevention,
• Geriatric/Elderly Care,
• Care and Management of Dementia,
• Transgender Issues and
• A comprehensive course on Social Defence Issues.

 MoHUA launched brand and logo for urban Self-Help Group products ‘SonChiraiya’

• Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has launched ‘SonChiraiya’, a brand and logo for marketing of the urban Self-Help Group (SHG) products. To make urban SHG products popular, the ministry has signed MoUs with e-Commerce Portals like Amazon and Flipkart, with an underlying narrative of women empowerment. Due to this partnership, more than 2,000 products of nearly 5,000 SHG members have been onboarded on the e-commerce portals.
• This initiative is a significant step of increasing visibility and global access for the products made by urban SHG women. Under the initiative, a variety of professionally packaged and hand-crafted ethnic products will reach the doorsteps of customers worldwide.

 India’s first Drone Forensic Lab and Research Center now in Kerala

• India’s first Drone Forensic Lab and Research Center has come up in Kerala. The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan was inaugurating the State police department’s ‘Drone Forensic Laboratory’ at the Kerala State Police CyberDome. Cyberdome is a technological research and development centre of the Kerala Police Department.
• The centre will help in keeping a watch over unauthorized drones and also for the production of drones for the use of the police force. This lab-cum-research centre will look into both utility and threat aspects of a drone.
• The police have forayed strongly into the relatively new field of drone forensics. It had recently analysed a drone brought down by the Border Security Force (BSF) near the international border in Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir and helped the local enforcement zero in on its illegal operator.

Dr Jitendra Singh (Minister of Earth Sciences) has released India’s first Cattle Genomic Chip “IndiGau” released

• Dr Jitendra Singh has released India’s first cattle genomic chip ‘IndiGau’ for the conservation of pure varieties of indigenous cattle breeds like, Gir, Kankrej, Sahiwal, Ongole etc.
• The chip has been developed by scientists of National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NAIB), Hyderabad, an autonomous institution under the aegis of the Department of Biotechnology. The chip will help in achieving the goal of conservation of our own breeds with better characters and help towards doubling farmers’ income by 2022.

India’s Chandrayaan-2 orbiter detected water molecules on lunar surface in 2019

• India’s Chandrayaan-2 moon mission may have made a hard landing on the lunar surface in 2019, but the orbiter accompanying it has been providing useful information to scientists back on Earth. A research paper revealed that the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter confirmed the presence of water molecules (H2o) and hydroxyl (OH) on the surface of the moon. The findings were published in the journal Current Science.
• “The initial data analysis from IIRS clearly demonstrates the presence of widespread lunar hydration and unambiguous detection of OH and H2O signatures between 29 degrees north and 62 degrees north latitude. The discovery was made by the orbiter’s imaging infrared spectrometer (IIRS).

Indian Bank signs MoU with Paralympic Committee of India (PCI)

• Public sector Indian Bank has signed an MoU with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) as one of the banking partners of the Paralympic Games scheduled to commence from August 24 in Tokyo, Japan. The bank, through its year-long association with PCI, will provide financial assistance to paralympic athletes. The President of the Paralympic Committee of India is Deepa Malik.
• In a year-long association, the bank will provide financial assistance to Paralympic athletes to prepare for the coveted sporting events in the domestic arena as well as global platforms. Timely financial aid provided to these sportspersons will encourage them to focus their efforts on the game and win laurels for the country.

75th Indian Independence Day 2021

• India is celebrating the 75th Independence Day on 15th August 2021 to mark the country’s freedom from nearly two centuries of British colonial rule. India is marking its 75th Independence Day as “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the celebrations from Red Fort in New Delhi and is addressing the nation from Red Fort in New Delhi. This is his eighth address as the prime minister.
• For the first time, just as the flag is unfurled by the PM, flower petals showered at the venue by two Mi-17 1V helicopters of the Indian Air Force in Amrut formation. The Centre has invited 32 athletes — who have won medals at the Olympics and two officials of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) at the Red Fort.
• The Indian Independence movement began during World War I and was led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. On August 15, 1947, India got its freedom, ending an almost 200-year British rule. India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru raised the Indian national flag above the Lahori Gate of Red Fort in Delhi on August 15, 1947. It is a tradition that has since been followed by the incumbent Prime Minister, followed by an address to the country.

PM Modi declared August 14 as ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that, August 14 will be observed as ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ or ‘Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas’, in memory of people’s struggles and sacrifices during the partition of the country in 1947.
• The day aims to inspire us to eliminate the poison of discrimination, animosity and ill-will, as well as strengthen unity, social harmony and human sensibilities. Pakistan celebrates August 14 as its Independence Day.
