नितिन गडकरी ने मुंबई और पुणे के बीच भारत की पहली इंटरसिटी इलेक्ट्रिक बस का उद्घाटन किया:

• केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्री, नितिन गडकरी ने मुंबई में 14 फरवरी 2020 को मुंबई-पुणे इलेक्ट्रिक बस को हरी झंडी दिखाई।
• यह भारत में पहली इलेक्ट्रिक इंटरसिटी बस है।

राष्ट्रपति कोविंद ने केजरीवाल को दिल्ली का नया सीएम नियुक्त किया:

• राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद ने अरविंद केजरीवाल को दिल्ली के राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र के नए मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में नियुक्त किया है, क्योंकि उनकी आम आदमी पार्टी ने हाल ही में 70 सीटों में से 62 सीटों के साथ दिल्ली विधानसभा चुनाव जीता था।
• राष्ट्रपति ने दिल्ली सरकार के मंत्रियों के रूप में छह विधायकों को भी नियुक्त किया है: मनीष सिसोदिया, सत्येंद्र जैन, गोपाल राय, कैलाश गहलोत, इमरान हुसैन और राजेंद्र गौतम।

GIC Re को पुनर्बीमा बिज़ के लिए बैंक ऑफ रूस से लाइसेंस मिलता है:

• भारत की पुनर्बीमा कंपनी, जनरल इंश्योरेंस कॉरपोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (GIC Re) ने रूस में पुनर्बीमा व्यवसाय शुरू करने के लिए रूसी संघ के सेंट्रल बैंक (रूस के बैंक) से लाइसेंस प्राप्त किया है।
• लाइसेंस निगम द्वारा निवेश की गई पूंजी के आधार पर रूस में घरेलू और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पुनर्बीमा व्यवसाय का लेन-देन शुरू करने के लिए सहायक को सक्षम बनाता है।
• भारत का GIC भारत में एक राज्य के स्वामित्व वाला उद्यम है। यह 22 नवंबर 1972 में स्थापित भारतीय बीमा में एकमात्र पुनर्बीमा कंपनी थी। GIC Re का मुंबई में पंजीकृत कार्यालय और मुख्यालय है।

बायोएशिया 2020 ने जीनोम वैली एक्सिलेंस अवार्ड की घोषणा की:

• तेलंगाना सरकार द्वारा आयोजित एशिया के सबसे बड़े वार्षिक वैश्विक जैव प्रौद्योगिकी और जीवन विज्ञान मंच बायोसिया ने घोषणा की है कि जीनोम वैली एक्सिलेंस अवार्ड डॉ। कार्ल एच जून और डॉ. वास नरसिम्हन को जीवन विज्ञान में उनके योगदान के लिए दिया जाएगा।
• डॉ.कार्ल एच जून को दुनिया के पहले FDA (खाद्य और औषधि प्रशासन, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका) के कैंसर और व्यावसायीकरण के उपचार के लिए कार-टी (काइमरिक एंटीजन रिसेप्टर- टी कोशिकाओं) के विकास में इम्यूनोथेरेपी में अपने काम के लिए सम्मानित किया जाएगा- जीन थेरेपी।

इसरो के जी नारायणन होंगे PSU NSIL के प्रमुख:

• अनुभवी अंतरिक्ष वैज्ञानिक जी नारायणन को भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन की नवगठित वाणिज्यिक इकाई न्यू स्पेस इंडिया लिमिटेड (NSIL) का अध्यक्ष नामित किया गया है।
• नारायणन, जो केरल के पलक्कड़ के निवासी हैं, ने इससे पहले पेरिस में भारतीय दूतावास में पहले सचिव (अंतरिक्ष) के रूप में काम किया था.
• भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन भारत सरकार की अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी है और इसका मुख्यालय बेंगलुरु शहर में है। इसकी दृष्टि "अंतरिक्ष विज्ञान अनुसंधान और ग्रहों की खोज का पीछा करते हुए राष्ट्रीय विकास के लिए अंतरिक्ष प्रौद्योगिकी का दोहन" है।

खेल मंत्री किरेन रिजिजू ने जम्मू-कश्मीर में खेलो इंडिया विंटर गेम्स की घोषणा की:

• खेल मंत्री किरेन रिजिजू ने खेलो इंडिया विंटर गेम्स 2020 की घोषणा की है जो इस महीने के अंत में केंद्र शासित प्रदेश लद्दाख में आयोजित किया जाएगा और इसके बाद मार्च में केंद्र शासित प्रदेश जम्मू और कश्मीर में भी इसी तरह का आयोजन होगा।
• खेलो इंडिया लद्दाख शीतकालीन खेलों में एक ओपन आइस हॉकी चैम्पियनशिप, फिगर स्केटिंग, और स्पीड स्केटिंग शामिल होगी, और प्रतियोगिता लगभग 1700 एथलीटों की अपेक्षित भागीदारी के साथ ब्लॉक, जिला और यूटी स्तरों पर आयोजित की जाएगी।

Nitin Gadkari Inaugurates India’s First Intercity Electric Bus between Mumbai and Pune:

• The Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari flagged off Mumbai-Pune Electric Bus on 14 February 2020 in Mumbai.
• It is the first Electric Intercity Bus in India.

President Kovind Appoints Kejriwal as new CM of Delhi:

• President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Arvind Kejriwal as the new Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, after his Aam Aadmi Party won the recent Delhi Assembly elections with 62 of the 70 seats.
• The president has also appointed six MLAs as ministers of the Delhi Government namely: Manish Sisodia, Satyender Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Rajendra Gautam.

GIC Re gets license from Bank of Russia for reinsurance biz:

• India’s reinsurance company, General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re) has received the license from Central Bank of the Russian Federation (Bank of Russia) to commence reinsurance business in Russia.
• The license enables the subsidiary to commence transacting domestic and international reinsurance business in Russia based on the capital invested by the Corporation.
• GIC of India is a state owned enterprise in India. It was the sole reinsurance company in the Indian insurance founded in 22 November 1972. GIC Re has its registered office and headquarters in Mumbai.

BioAsia 2020 announces Genome Valley Excellence Award:

• BioAsia, Asia’s largest annual global biotechnology and life sciences forum organised by the Government of Telangana, has announced that the Genome Valley Excellence Award will be bestowed upon Dr Carl H June and Dr Vas Narasimhan for their contributions to life sciences.
• Dr. Carl H June will be awarded for his work in immunotherapy, research in development of CAR-T (Chimeric Antigen Receptor- T cells) for treatment of cancer & commercialization of world’s first FDA (Food and Drug Administration, United States)- approved gene therapy.

ISRO G Narayanan to head space PSU NSIL:

• Veteran space scientist G Narayanan has been named the chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation’s newly formed commercial entity New Space India Ltd (NSIL).
• Narayanan, who hails from Kerala’s Palakkad, had earlier worked as first secretary (space) at the Indian embassy in Paris.
• The Indian Space Research Organisation is the space agency of the Government of India and has its headquarters in the city of Bengaluru. Its vision is to “harness space technology for national development while pursuing space science research & planetary exploration”.

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju Announces Khelo India Winter Games in Jammu and Kashmir:

• Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced Khelo India winter games 2020 which will be held in the Union Territory of Ladakh later this month followed by a similar event in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in March.
• Khelo India Ladakh Winter Games will feature an open ice hockey championship, figure skating, and speed skating, and the competition will be conducted at the block, district, and UT levels with the expected participation of about 1700 athletes.
