भारत-फ्रांस संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास का छठा संस्करण 'EX-SHAKTI2021'

• भारत और फ्रांस की नौसेनाएं फ्रांस के फ्रीजस में 15 से 26 नवंबर, 2021 तक द्विवार्षिक प्रशिक्षण अभ्यास "EX SHAKTI 2021" के छठे संस्करण का आयोजन करेंगी। भारतीय सेना का प्रतिनिधित्व गोरखा राइफल्स इन्फैंट्री बटालियन द्वारा किया जाएगा और फ्रांस सेना का प्रतिनिधित्व 6वीं लाइट आर्मर्ड ब्रिगेड की 21वीं मरीन इन्फैंट्री रेजिमेंट के सैनिकों द्वारा किया जाएगा।
• यह अभ्यास आतंकवाद विरोधी अभियानों पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगा और दोनों सेनाओं के बीच सैन्य सहयोग और अंतःक्रियाशीलता को बढ़ाएगा। इसके अलावा, भारत और फ्रांस द्विवार्षिक वायु सेना प्रशिक्षण अभ्यास 'अभ्यास गरुड़' और द्विवार्षिक समुद्री प्रशिक्षण अभ्यास 'अभ्यास वरुण' भी करेंगे।

प्रोफेसर बिमल पटेल 5 वर्ष के कार्यकाल के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विधि आयोग के लिए चुने गए

• भारत के प्रोफेसर बिमल पटेल को पांच वर्ष की अवधि के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विधि आयोग के लिए चुना गया है। उनका पांच वर्ष का कार्यकाल 1 जनवरी 2023 से शुरू होगा। प्रोफेसर पटेल राष्ट्रीय रक्षा विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति और भारतीय राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार बोर्ड के सदस्य हैं। 51 वर्षीय पटेल ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा में 192 सदस्यों में से 163 वोट हासिल किए। यह एशिया-पैसिफिक ग्रुप में किसी उम्मीदवार को मिले सबसे ज्यादा वोट थे।

ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने जीता टी20 वर्ल्ड कप 2021 का खिताब

• ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने फाइनल में न्यूजीलैंड को 8 विकेट से हराकर अपना पहला टी20 विश्व कप खिताब जीता। फाइनल में 173 रनों का लक्ष्य कभी आसान नहीं होता लेकिन मार्श ने अपनी शक्ति और पहुंच से इसे डेविड वार्नर (38 गेंदों में 53 रन) की कंपनी में पार्क में टहलने जैसा बना दिया, जिन्होंने अपने लिए भाग्य का पहिया भी बदल दिया और उनकी टीम ने जीत 18.5 ओवर में हासिल कर ली। मिचेल मार्श को प्लेयर ऑफ द मैच चुना गया।
• ICC मेन्स T20 वर्ल्ड कप 2021, 17 अक्टूबर 2021 को ओमान क्रिकेट एकेडमी ग्राउंड में शुरू हुआ था, फाइनल मैच 14 नवंबर को दुबई में हुआ था जब टूर्नामेंट की दो सर्वश्रेष्ठ टीमें ऑस्ट्रेलिया और न्यूजीलैंड एक निर्णायक में मिली थीं। भारत में होने वाले आयोजन को भारत में C-19 स्थिति के कारण UAE और ओमान में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया। हालांकि बीसीसीआई इस आयोजन की मेजबानी करता रहेगा।

प्लेटो ने राहुल द्रविड़ को बनाया ब्रांड एंबेसडर

• बच्चों के फुटवियर ब्रांड प्लेटो ने प्रसिद्ध भारतीय क्रिकेटर राहुल द्रविड़ को अपना ब्रांड एंबेसडर और मेंटर नियुक्त करने की घोषणा की है। प्लेटो भारत का पहला D2C फुट-स्वास्थ्य केंद्रित फुटवियर ब्रांड है जिसे विशेष रूप से भारतीय बच्चों के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है। प्लेटो की स्थापना मार्च 2020 में रवि कल्लायिल, सारा किलगोर और पवन करेती ने की थी।
• ब्रांड ने द्रविड़ की विशेषता वाले एक अभियान के साथ साझेदारी की घोषणा की है। अभियान को बैंगलोर स्थित पीपल डिज़ाइन एंड कम्युनिकेशन द्वारा टीम प्लेटो के साथ साझेदारी में विकसित किया गया है। वीडियो अभियान को ब्रांड के सोशल मीडिया चैनलों पर प्रचारित किया जाएगा और 14 नवंबर को लाइव होगा।

बाल दिवस 2021:14 नवंबर

• 14 नवंबर को, भारत के पहले प्रधान मंत्री पं जवाहर लाल नेहरू की जयंती को चिह्नित करने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष बाल दिवस मनाया जाता है। चिल्ड्रन डे को भारत में 'बाल दिवस' के रूप में जाना जाता है। इस दिन का उद्देश्य बच्चों के अधिकारों, देखभाल और शिक्षा के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है। इस दिन देश भर में बच्चों द्वारा और उनके लिए कई शैक्षिक और प्रेरक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते हैं।
• जवाहरलाल नेहरू, जो भारत के पहले प्रधान मंत्री थे, बच्चों के बीच काफी प्रसिद्ध थे और लोकप्रिय रूप से 'चाचा नेहरू' के नाम से जाने जाते थे। 1964 में उनकी मृत्यु के बाद, यह निर्णय लिया गया कि उनके सम्मान के प्रतीक के रूप में बाल दिवस के समारोह को 14 नवंबर तक ले जाया जाए और बच्चों के प्रति उनके प्रेम को याद किया जाए। संसद में एक प्रस्ताव पारित किया गया और तब से भारत में प्रतिवर्ष 14 नवंबर को बाल दिवस मनाया जाता है। विशेष रूप से, बाल दिवस भारत में पहली बार 20 नवंबर, 1956 को सार्वभौमिक बाल दिवस के साथ मनाया गया था।

• विश्व मधुमेह दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 14 नवंबर को मनाया जाता है। अभियान का उद्देश्य मधुमेह से पीड़ित लोगों का समर्थन करने में नर्सों की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है। विश्व मधुमेह दिवस 2021-23 का विषय: "डायबिटीज केयर तक पहुंच" है।
• 2007 में महासभा ने 14 नवंबर को विश्व मधुमेह दिवस के रूप में नामित करते हुए संकल्प 61/225 को अपनाया।दस्तावेज़ ने "मानव स्वास्थ्य को बढ़ावा देने और सुधारने के लिए बहुपक्षीय प्रयासों को आगे बढ़ाने और उपचार और स्वास्थ्य देखभाल शिक्षा तक पहुंच प्रदान करने की तत्काल आवश्यकता" को मान्यता दी।

• अजय छिब्बर और सलमान अनीस सोज द्वारा लिखित "अनशैकलिंग इंडिया: हार्ड ट्रुथ्स एंड क्लियर चॉइस फॉर इकोनॉमिक रिवाइवल" नामक पुस्तक। एक नई किताब इस बात की जांच करती है कि क्या भारत अगले 25 वर्षों का उपयोग कर सकता है, जब यह स्वतंत्रता के सौवें वर्ष तक पहुँचेगा, न केवल अपनी अर्थव्यवस्था का पुनर्गठन करने के लिए बल्कि अपनी लोकतांत्रिक ऊर्जा को फिर से जीवंत करने के लिए और 2047 तक वास्तविक रूप से विकसित अर्थव्यवस्था बनने की अपनी क्षमता को मजबूत करें।

खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति अक्टूबर 2021 में 4.48 प्रतिशत तक बढ़ी

• उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक (CPI) द्वारा मापी गई खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति अक्टूबर में थोड़ा बढ़कर 4.48 प्रतिशत हो गई। अलग से, औद्योगिक उत्पादन सूचकांक (IIP) के संदर्भ में मापा गया कारखाना उत्पादन सितंबर में 3.1 प्रतिशत बढ़ा। सब्जियों की कीमतों में वृद्धि के साथ खाद्य मुद्रास्फीति अक्टूबर में 0.85 प्रतिशत हो गई, जो एक महीने पहले 0.68 प्रतिशत थी।

NATIONAL

Sixth-edition of India-France joint military exercise 'EX-SHAKTI2021'

• The Navies of India and France will carry out the 6th edition of the biennial training exercise “EX SHAKTI 2021” from November 15 to 26, 2021 in Frejus, France. The Indian Army will be represented by the Gorkha Rifles Infantry Battalion and France Army will be represented by troops of the 21st Marine Infantry Regiment of the 6th Light Armoured Brigade.
• The exercise will focus on Counter-Terrorism operations and enhance military cooperation and interoperability between the two Armies. Apart from this, India and France will also carry out biennial airforce training exercise ‘Exercise GARUDA’ , and biennial maritime training exercise ‘Exercise VARUNA’.

Professor Bimal Patel elected to International Law Commission for 5-yr term

• Professor Bimal Patel of India has been elected to the International Law Commission for a period of five-year. His five-year term will start from January 1, 2023. Prof Patel is the Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Raksha University and a Member of the National Security Advisory Board of India. The 51-year-old Patel secured 163 votes in the UN General Assembly out of 192 members. This was the highest votes received by a candidate in the Asia-Pacific Group.

Australia wins T20 World Cup 2021 title

• Australia won their maiden T20 World Cup title as they defeated New Zealand in the final by 8 wickets. A target of 173 in a global final is never easy but Marsh with his power and reach made it look like a walk in the park in the company of David Warner (53 off 38 balls), who also turned the wheels of fortune for himself and his team during a victory, achieved in 18.5 overs. Mitchell Marsh was named as the player of the match.
• ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 had begun on 17th October 2021 at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, the final match was commenced on 14th November in Dubai when the tournament’s two best teams Australia and New Zealand met in a decider. The event which was to be held in India shifted to UAE and Oman due to the COVID-19 situation in India. BCCI, however, will continue to be the host of the event.

 APPOINTMENT & RESIGNATION

Plaeto signed Rahul Dravid as brand ambassador  

• Children’s footwear brand Plaeto has announced the appointment of celebrated Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid as its brand ambassador and mentor. Plaeto is India’s first D2C foot-health focused footwear brand designed specifically for Indian children. Plaeto was founded in March 2020 by Ravi Kallayil, Sara Kilgore and Pavan Kareti.
• The brand has announced the partnership along with a campaign featuring Dravid. The campaign has been developed by Bangalore-based People Design and Communication, in partnership with team Plaeto. The video campaign will be promoted across the brand’s social media channels and will go live on 14 November.

Children’s Day 2021:14th November

• On 14th November, Children’s Day is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. Children’s Day is popularly known as ‘Baal Diwas’ in India. The day aims at increasing the awareness of the rights, care and education of children. On this day, many educational and motivational programs are organised across the country, by and for children.
• Jawaharlal Nehru, who was India’s first Prime Minister, was quite famous among children and was popularly known as ‘Chacha Nehru’. Following his death in 1964, it was decided that to move the celebrations of Children’s Day to November 14 as a mark of respect to him and to commemorate his fondness for children. A resolution was passed in the Parliament and since then, Children’s Day is celebrated in India on November 14 every year. Notably, Children’s Day was celebrated in India first on November 20, 1956, along with Universal Children’s Day.

 World Diabetes Day 2021:14th November

• World Diabetes Day is observed on 14th November every year. The campaign aims to raise awareness around the crucial role that nurses play in supporting people living with diabetes. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2021-23: “Access to Diabetes Care ”.
• In 2007 General Assembly adopted resolution 61/225 designating 14 November as World Diabetes Day. The document recognized “the urgent need to pursue multilateral efforts to promote and improve human health, and provide access to treatment and health-care education.”

Book “Unshackling India” by Ajay Chhibber and Salman Anees Soz

• A book titled “Unshackling India: Hard Truths and Clear Choices for Economic Revival” authored by Ajay Chhibber and Salman Anees Soz. A new book examines whether India can use the next 25 years, when it will reach the hundredth year of independence, to not only restructure its economy but rejuvenate its democratic energy and unshackle its potential to become a genuinely developed economy by 2047.

 BANKING AND ECONOMIC

Retail inflation inched up to 4.48 per cent in October 2021

• The retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), slightly rose to 4.48 per cent in October. Separately, the factory output, measured in terms of Index of Industrial Production (IIP), grew by 3.1 per cent in September. Food inflation picked up to 0.85 per cent in October from 0.68 per cent a month ago with a rise in prices of vegetables.
• The inflation print for October this year, however, is lower than the year-ago level of 7.61 per cent recorded in October 2020. With the impact of excise duty cut yet to reflect in the headline numbers, high core inflation — the non-food, non-fuel inflation component — and risks of high global commodity prices are expected to keep the inflation rate under pressure.
