पाकिस्तान सेना ने किया बाबर क्रूज मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण

• पाकिस्तान सेना ने 11 फरवरी, 2021 को कम दूरी की सतह से सतह पर मार करने वाली बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल 'बाबर’ का सफल परीक्षण किया। यह परीक्षण पिछले तीन हफ्तों में किया गया तीसरा मिसाइल परीक्षण था।
• बाबर क्रूज मिसाइल IA को मल्टी ट्यूब मिसाइल लॉन्च व्हीकल से लॉन्च किया गया था।
• यह मिसाइल 450 किलोमीटर दूर तक "उच्च परिशुद्धता" के साथ जमीन और समुद्री लक्ष्यों को मारने में सक्षम है।
• इससे पहले, पाकिस्तान की सेना ने जनवरी 2021 में सतह से सतह पर मार करने वाली बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल शाहीन- III का सफल परीक्षण किया, इसके बाद फरवरी 2021 में परमाणु-सक्षम बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल गजनवी का 'प्रशिक्षण लॉन्च’ किया।

ओडिशा, भुवनेश्वर में करेगा 'COVID वारियर मेमोरियल' का निर्माण

• महामारी से लड़ते हुए अपनी जान गंवाने वाले कोविड योद्धाओं द्वारा बलिदान और सेवाओं की पहचान करने के लिए, सरकार ने ओडिशा में एक कोविड योद्धा स्मारक बनाने का फैसला किया है। भुवनेश्वर के बीजू पटनायक पार्क को इस उद्देश्य के लिए चुना गया है।
• ओडिशा स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण विभाग ने निर्माण विभाग को यह भी कहा था कि कोविड योद्धा स्मारक के निर्माण के लिए निर्माण विभाग को नोडल विभाग के रूप में घोषित किया गया है। वे उक्त स्मारक के डिजाइन और संरचना को अंतिम रूप देने और सक्षम प्राधिकारी से अनुमोदन लेने के लिए एक वास्तुकार को शामिल करेंगे।

 राजनाथ सिंह मध्य प्रदेश में किया ‘जलाभिषेकम’ अभियान का उद्घाटन

• मध्य प्रदेश की राज्य सरकार ने 'जलाभिषेकम' नामक एक जल संरक्षण अभियान शुरू किया है, जिसके तहत 57,000 से अधिक जल संरचनाओं का निर्माण किया गया है। इस अभियान का उद्घाटन केंद्रीय रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने वर्चुअली किया था।
• जल संरक्षण का काम जन भागीदारी से किया जा रहा है और यह आत्मनिर्भर मध्य प्रदेश के निर्माण के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने में सहायक होगा।
• यह अभियान 'प्रत्येक खेत के लिए पानी और हर हाथ के लिए काम' के लक्ष्य को भी पूरा करेगा।
• जल संरचनाओं को मनरेगा योजना के साथ जोड़कर COVID युग के दौरान बनाया गया था।
• इन जल संरचनाओं की लगत 2,000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक है और एक इंच भूमि को डूबे बिना 2.50 लाख हेक्टेयर भूमि की सिंचाई करेगा।

 इसरो खोलेगा निजी क्षेत्र के लिए उपग्रह परीक्षण केंद्र

• भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) ने अपने इतिहास में पहली बार निजी क्षेत्र द्वारा विकसित उपग्रहों के परीक्षण के लिए अपना यूआर राव सैटेलाइट सेंटर खोला है। यूआर राव सैटेलाइट सेंटर में भारतीय स्टार्टअप्स स्पेसकिड इंडिया और पिक्ससेल (सिग्गी के रूप में शामिल) द्वारा विकसित दो उपग्रहों का परीक्षण किया गया था।
• इसरो ने अपने संबंधित उपग्रहों पर सौर पैनलों के साथ समस्याओं को ठीक करने में भी इन दोनों कंपनियों की मदद की। अपने इतिहास में अब तक, अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी ने केवल भारतीय उद्योग से उपग्रहों और रॉकेटों के विभिन्न हिस्सों के निर्माण और संरचना में मदद ली है। ये दोनों कंपनियां आने वाले दिनों में श्रीहरिकोटा स्पेसपोर्ट और तिरुवनंतपुरम रॉकेट सेंटर में भी अपने इंजन का परीक्षण करेंगी।

राष्ट्रीय उत्पादकता दिवस 2021

• राष्ट्रीय उत्पादकता दिवस, भारत में प्रतिवर्ष 12 फरवरी को मनाया जाता है। राष्ट्रीय उत्पादकता परिषद का उद्देश्य देश में सभी क्षेत्रों में उत्पादकता और गुणवत्ता चेतना को प्रेरित और प्रोत्साहित करना है। दिन का मुख्य पर्यवेक्षण समकालीन प्रासंगिक विषयों के साथ उत्पादकता उपकरण और तकनीकों के कार्यान्वयन में सभी हितधारकों को प्रोत्साहित करना है।
• भारत में यह दिन उत्पादकता संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देने के लिए राष्ट्रीय उत्पादकता परिषद (NPC) द्वारा मनाया जाता है। भारत सरकार के वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय के तहत राष्ट्रीय उत्पादकता परिषद (NPC) भारत में उत्पादकता आंदोलन के प्रसार के लिए एक प्रमुख संस्थान है। NPC त्वरणशील उत्पादकता, प्रतिस्पर्धा बढ़ाने, उत्पादकता में वृद्धि की दिशा में समाधान प्रदान करने के लिए काम करता है।

• विश्व रेडियो दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 13 फरवरी को रेडियो को एक शक्तिशाली माध्यम के रूप में मान्यता देने के लिए मनाया जाता है, जो विविधता को बढ़ावा देने और अधिक शांतिपूर्ण और समावेशी दुनिया बनाने में मदद करने के लिए दुनिया के हर कोने से लोगों को एक साथ लाता है।
• विश्व रेडियो दिवस 2021 का विषय है "New World, New Radio"।
• विश्व रेडियो दिवस 2021 (WRD 2021) के अवसर पर, यूनेस्को ने इस कार्यक्रम की 10 वीं वर्षगांठ और तीन उप-विषयों के माध्यम से रेडियो के 110 से अधिक वर्ष मनाने के लिए रेडियो स्टेशनों पर कॉल किया।

 भारतीय राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस 2021

• भारत में, सरोजिनी नायडू की जयंती मनाने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष 13 फरवरी को राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष राष्ट्र ने अपनी 142वीं जयंती मनाई। उनका जन्म 13 फरवरी, 1879 को हुआ था। वह अपनी कविताओं के कारण 'नाइटिंगेल ऑफ इंडिया’ या 'भारत कोकिला’ के उपनाम से प्रसिद्ध थीं।
• सरोजिनी नायडू न केवल एक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थीं, बल्कि वे संयुक्त प्रांत, वर्तमान उत्तर प्रदेश की पहली महिला राज्यपाल भी बनीं। वह सबसे अग्रणी नेताओं में से एक थी, जिन्होंने सविनय अवज्ञा आंदोलन और भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन का नेतृत्व किया। वह औपनिवेशिक शासन से स्वतंत्रता के लिए भारत के संघर्ष में एक महत्वपूर्ण व्यक्ति थी।

• अभिनेत्री-निर्माता प्रियंका चोपड़ा जोनस ने आधिकारिक तौर पर अपनी पहली पुस्तक, "अनफिनिश्ड: ए मेमॉयर" की रिलीज के साथ लेखक बन गई, जिसे उन्होंने "ईमानदार, नैसर्गिक और अतिसंवेदनशील" बताया। अंतिम परिणाम माइकल जोसेफ इंप्रिंट द्वारा प्रकाशित एक पुस्तक है, जो एक अभिनेता और निर्माता के रूप में उनके दोहरे कॉन्टिनेंट के 20 वर्षीय करियर को कवर करती है और एक यूनिसेफ गुडविल एम्बेसडर के रूप में उनका काम है।

• रक्षा स्थायी समिति के अध्यक्ष और सांसद जुएल ओराम ने ‘Turn Around India: 2020- Surmounting Past Legacy’ बुक लॉन्च की है, जो आम जनता के बीच आर्थिक जागरूकता (economic awareness) के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करने वाली पुस्तक है। इस पुस्तक के लेखक आरपी गुप्ता हैं।
• 'टर्न अराउंड इंडिया: 2020' बुक गुप्ता के अनुभवों का एक अंतरंग वर्णन है और जिन्होंने जमकर मेहनत और दृढ़ संकल्प के जरिए सफलता प्राप्त की। पुस्तक नई नौकरियों के सृजन और सार्वजनिक आय में वृद्धि के लिए भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था को पुनर्जीवित करने के लिए एक व्यावहारिक और व्यवहार्य विकल्प प्रदान करती है और, महामारी के कारण उत्पन्न होने वाले आर्थिक संकट पर काबू पाने के लिए जरुरी राजकोषीय और मौद्रिक जैसे संरचनात्मक सुधार पर आधारित है। पुस्तक भारत के आर्थिक इतिहास की ताकत और कमजोरी की पहचान करने और सुधारात्मक कार्रवाई करने में सक्षम होने के बारे में बताती है।

विश्व बैंक ने छत्तीसगढ़ के साथ $100 मिलियन की परियोजना पर किए हस्ताक्षर

• भारतीय सरकार और छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार ने विश्व बैंक के साथ चिराग (CHIRAAG) (छत्तीसगढ़ समावेशी ग्रामीण और त्वरित कृषि विकास) परियोजना के लिए $100 मिलियन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। मुख्य उद्देश्य सतत उत्पादन प्रणाली विकसित करना है, जो छत्तीसगढ़ के दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों में आदिवासी परिवारों को विविध और पौष्टिक भोजन के दौर के उत्पादन का अभ्यास करने की अनुमति देता है।
• परियोजना को राज्य के दक्षिणी आदिवासी बहुल क्षेत्र में लागू किया जाएगा, जहां एक बड़ी आबादी कुपोषित और गरीब है। इस परियोजना से छत्तीसगढ़ के आठ जिलों के लगभग 1,000 गाँवों के 180,000 से अधिक परिवार लाभान्वित होंगे।

 एक्ज़िम बैंक देगा मालदीव के लिए 400 मिलियन डॉलर

• एक्सपोर्ट-इम्पोर्ट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (एक्ज़िम बैंक) मालदीव को ग्रेटर मेल कनेक्टिविटी प्रोजेक्ट के लिए लाइन ऑफ क्रेडिट (LoC) के माध्यम से 400 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर प्रदान करेगा। LoC के तहत समझौता 28 जनवरी, 2021 से प्रभावी होगा।
• 6.7 किमी ग्रेटर माले कनेक्टिविटी प्रोजेक्ट (GMCP) मालदीव में सबसे बड़ा नागरिक बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजना होगी, जो तीन पड़ोसी द्वीपों - विलिंगिली, गुल्हिफहू और थिलाफुशी के साथ माले को जोड़ती है। भारत सरकार मालदीव में एक प्रमुख कनेक्टिविटी परियोजना के कार्यान्वयन के लिए 400 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर ऋण व्यवस्था और 100 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर अनुदान के माध्यम से वित्त पोषण करेगी।

Pakistan Army successfully test-fires Babur cruise missile

• The Pakistan Army conducted a successful test-firing of a short-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile ‘Babar’ on February 11, 2021. This test was the third missile test carried out over the past three weeks.
• The Babur cruise missile IA was launched from Multi Tube Missile Launch Vehicle.
• This missile is capable of hitting land and sea targets with “high precision” up to 450 kilometres away.
• Earlier, Pakistan army conducted a successful test of the surface-to-surface ballistic missile Shaheen-III in January 2021, followed by the ‘training launch’ of nuclear-capable ballistic mis¬sile Ghaznavi in February 2021.

Odisha To Construct ‘COVID Warrior Memorial’ in Bhubaneswar

• In order to recognize the sacrifice and services rendered by the Covid warriors who lost their lives fighting the pandemic, the government has decided to construct a Covid Warrior Memorial in Odisha. The Biju Patnaik Park in Bhubaneswar has been selected for this purpose.
• Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department to the Works Department it was also said that the Works Department has been declared as the Nodal Department for construction of the Covid Warrior Memorial. They will engage an architect to finalise the design and structure of the said memorial and take approval from the competent authority.

Rajnath Singh inaugurates ‘Jalabhishekam’ campaign in Madhya Pradesh

• The state government of Madhya Pradesh has launched a water conservation campaign called ‘Jalabhishekam’, under which more than 57,000 water structures has been constructed. The campaign was inaugurated by the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually.
• Water conservation work is being undertaken with public participation and will be helpful in achieving the goal of building self-reliant Madhya Pradesh.
• The Campaign will also fulfil the intention of ‘water for every farm and work for every hand’.
• The water structures were created during COVID era by linking the work with the MNREGA scheme.
• These water structures cost over Rs. 2,000 crore and will irrigate 2.50 lakh hectares of land without submerging an inch of land.

 ISRO opens satellite testing centre for private sector

• Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has opened its UR Rao Satellite Centre for testing satellites developed by the private sector for the first time in its history. Two satellites, developed by the Indian startups SpaceKidz India and Pixxel (incorporated as Sygyzy) were tested at the UR Rao Satellite Centre.
• ISRO also helped these two companies in fixing problems with the solar panels on their respective satellites. So far in its history, the space agency has only taken help in manufacturing and fabrication of various parts of satellites and rockets from the Indian industry. Both these two companies will also test their engines at the Sriharikota spaceport and Thiruvananthapuram rocket centre in coming days.

National Productivity Day 2021

• National Productivity Day is observed every year in India on February 12. The objective of National Productivity Council is stimulating and promoting productivity and quality consciousness across all sectors in the country. The main observance of the day is to encourage all stakeholders in the implementation of productivity tools and techniques with contemporary relevant themes.
• The day is celebrated by the National Productivity Council (NPC) to promote productivity culture in India. National Productivity Council (NPC) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Government of India is a premier institution for propagating productivity movement in India. NPC works for providing solutions towards accelerating productivity, enhancing competitiveness, increasing productivity.

 World Radio Day: 13 February

• World Radio Day is celebrated on 13 February each year to recognize radio as a powerful medium, which brings people together from every corner of the globe, to promote diversity and help build a more peaceful and inclusive world.
• The theme of World Radio Day 2021 is “New World, New Radio”.
• On the occasion of World Radio Day 2021 (WRD 2021), UNESCO calls on radio stations to celebrate this event’s 10th anniversary and the more than 110 years of radio through three sub-themes.
• Evolution: The world changes, radio evolves – radio is resilient and sustainable;
• Innovation: The world changes, radio adapts and innovates- radio adapts to new technologies and remains the go-to medium of mobility, accessible everywhere and to everyone;
• Connection: The world changes, radio connects – radio services our society during natural disasters, socio-economic crises, epidemics, etc.

 

National Women’s Day of India 2021

• In India, the National Women’s Day is observed every year on 13 February to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu. This year Nation celebrates its 142nd Birth Anniversary. She was born on February 13, 1879. She was famous for her nickname ‘Nightingale of India’ or ‘Bharat Kokila’ because of her poems.
• Sarojini Naidu was not only a freedom fighter, but she also became the first woman governor of the United Provinces, the present Uttar Pradesh. She was one of the forefront leaders who led the Civil Disobedience Movement and the Quit India Movement. She was an important figure in India’s struggle for independence from colonial rule.

Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ memoir named ‘Unfinished’

• Actor-producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas officially turned author with the release of her first book, “Unfinished: A Memoir”, which she described as “honest, raw and vulnerable”. The end result is a book, published by the Michael Joseph imprint, which covers her dual-continent 20-year-long career as an actor and producer and her work as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador.
• The memoir promises to offer insights into Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ childhood in India, her formative teenage years in the US. Her return to India resulted in the newcomer to the pageant world, against all odds, winning the national and international beauty competitions – Miss India and Miss World – that launched her global acting career.

 Jual Oram launches book on economic awareness in India

• Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Defence and MP Jual Oram has launched ‘Turn Around India: 2020- Surmounting Past Legacy’, a book on creating economic awareness among masses. The book is authored by RP Gupta.
• ‘Turn Around India: 2020’ is an intimate narrative of Gupta’s experiences and how he attained success through sheer hard work and determination. The book provides a practical and viable option for reviving Indian economy for creating new jobs and enlarging public income and also, the structural reforms such as fiscal and monetary stimuli for overcoming economic crisis arising due to pandemic. The book talks about the economic history of India enabling to identify the strengths and weakness and take corrective actions.

 BANKING AND ECONOMY

World Bank Signs $100 million Project with Chhattisgarh

• Indian Govt and Chhattisgarh Govt has signed a $100 million for CHIRAAG (Chhattisgarh Inclusive Rural and Accelerated Agriculture Growth) project with the World bank. The main purpose is to develop sustainable production systems that allow tribal households in remote areas of Chhattisgarh to practice round-the-year production of diversified and nutritious food.
• The project will be implemented in the southern tribal-majority region of the state where a large population is undernourished and poor. Over 180,000 households from about 1,000 villages in eight districts of Chhattisgarh, will be benefited from this project.

 Exim Bank to provide USD 400 mn funding for Maldives

• The Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank) will provide USD 400 million to the Maldives through Line of Credit (LoC) to fund the Greater Male Connectivity Project. The agreement under the LoC will be effective from January 28, 2021.
• The 6.7 km Greater Male Connectivity Project (GMCP) will be the largest civilian infrastructure project in the Maldives, connecting Male with three neighbouring islands – Villingili, Gulhifahu and Thilafushi. The Government of India will be funding the implementation of a major connectivity project in the Maldives through a USD 400 million lines of credit and USD 100 million grant.
