बांग्लादेश को भारत के 51 वें अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव (IFFI) के लिए ‘Country in Focus’ के रूप में चुना गया

• बांग्लादेश को भारत के 51 वें अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव (IFFI) के लिए ‘Country in Focus’ के रूप में चुना गया है। यह महोत्सव 16 जनवरी से 24 जनवरी, 2021 तक गोवा में आयोजित किया जाएगा। द कंट्री इन फोकस एक विशेष खंड है जो देश की सिनेमाई उत्कृष्टता और योगदान को पहचानता है। 51 वें IFFI में यह खंड बांग्लादेश की चार फिल्मों का प्रदर्शन करेगा।
• भारत में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव (IFFI), गोवा में, 1952 से प्रतिवर्ष आयोजित किया जा रहा है। कार्यक्रम का आयोजन संयुक्त रूप से फिल्म समारोह निदेशालय (सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय) और राज्य सरकार के गोवा राज्य द्वारा किया जाता है।

 टेकऑफ के बाद समुद्र में गिरा इंडोनेशियाई श्रीविजय यात्री विमान

• इंडोनेशिया के जकार्ता से 62 लोगों को लेकर जा रहा यात्री विमान श्रीविजय एयर उड़ान भरने के कुछ समय बाद ही समुद्र में क्रेश हो गया। बोइंग 737-500 अनुमानित रूप से इंडोनेशिया के बोर्नियो द्वीप पर पश्चिम कालीमंतन प्रांत की राजधानी जकार्ता से पोंटियानक तक 90 मिनट की उड़ान पर था।
• पश्चिमी कालीमंतन प्रांत में पोंटियनक की यात्रा के चार मिनट बाद श्रीविजय एयर राडार से गायब हो गई। इसे एक मिनट से भी कम समय में 3,000 मीटर (10,000 फीट) से अधिक गिरा हुआ माना जा रहा है।

ट्विटर ने @POTUS पर ट्रम्प के नए ट्वीट को किया डिलिट, अभियान अकाउंट को भी किया निलंबित

• ट्विटर इंक ने अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प द्वारा आधिकारिक सरकारी अकाउंट @POTUS पर पोस्ट किए गए नए ट्वीट्स को ट्विटर से हटा दिया है और अपने निजी प्लेटफार्म को स्थायी रूप से बूट करने के बाद, राष्ट्रपति अभियान के अकाउंट को भी निलंबित कर दिया है। @POTUS ट्विटर अकाउंट अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प का आधिकारिक ट्विटर अकाउंट है। इस अकाउंट का नाम प्रेसिडेंट ट्रम्प है।
• POTUS ट्विटर अकाउंट हाल ही में इसलिए चर्चा में है क्योंकि Twitter द्वारा ट्रम्प के अकाउंट @realDonaldTrump को स्थायी रूप से प्रतिबंधित और निलंबित किए जाने के बाद राष्ट्रपति ट्रम्प ने "ट्विटर" के खिलाफ ट्वीट करने के लिए इस अकाउंट का उपयोग किया था।
• ट्रंप ने ट्वीट किया कि Twitter has conspired with his rivals and suspended his account to silence him यानि ट्विटर ने उनके प्रतिद्वंद्वियों के साथ मिलकर उनके खिलाफ साजिश रची और उन्हें चुप कराने के लिए उनके अकाउंट को ससपेंड कर दिया।
• इससे पहले, ट्विटर ने @realDonaldTrump ट्विटर अकाउंट के स्थायी निलंबन के बारे में एक आधिकारिक पोस्ट जारी किया था।
• @POTUS अकाउंट के माध्यम से ट्रम्प द्वारा किए गए ट्वीट के बाद, ट्विटर ने अपने ट्वीट को हटा दिया।
• @POTUS खाते के वर्तमान में 33.4 मिलियन फोल्लोवेर्स हैं।

हर्षवर्धन ने तटीय अनुसंधान पोत 'सागर अन्वेशिका' का किया जलावतरण

• केंद्रीय पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्री हर्षवर्धन ने चेन्नई बंदरगाह पर तटीय अनुसंधान वाहन (Coastal Research Vehicle) "सागर अन्वेषिका" का जलावतरण किया है। इस वाहन का उपयोग तटीय और अपतटीय जल दोनों में पर्यावरण अनुक्रमण और बाथिमेट्रिक (पानी के नीचे की सुविधाओं को मैप करने) के लिए किया जाएगा।
• इसका उपयोग राष्ट्रीय महासागर प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (NIOT) के अनुसंधान उद्देश्यों के लिए किया जाएगा और इसका निर्माण टीटागढ़ वैगन्स, कोलकाता, पश्चिम बंगाल द्वारा किया गया है। NIOT के पहले से ही 6 रिसर्च वेसेल्स हैं - सागर कन्या, सागर सम्पदा, सागर निधि, सागर मानुष, और सागर तारा।
• अन्वेशिका को भारतीय नौवहन रजिस्टर (IRClass) के तहत बनाया गया है और यह एक DP (डायनामिक पोजिशनिंग) -सक्षम जहाज है।
• अन्वेशिका समुद्र में खोज करने की क्षमता और क्षमता को बढ़ाएगी जो पानी, ऊर्जा, भोजन, खनिजों का एक बड़ा स्रोत है।
• अनुसंधान वाहन का उपयोग करते हुए, समुद्री वैज्ञानिक समुद्र के नीचे छह किलोमीटर की यात्रा कर सकते हैं। वैज्ञानिक भी अनुसंधान गतिविधियों का संचालन करने के लिए 16 घंटे से अधिक समय तक पानी के भीतर रह सकते हैं।

 डब्ल्यूटीओ में हुआ भारत की 7 वीं व्यापार नीति समीक्षा (TPR) का समापन

• भारत की 7 वीं व्यापार नीति समीक्षा (Trade Policy Review) का दूसरा सत्र विश्व व्यापार संगठन (World Trade Organization) में संपन्न हुआ। यह 7 वीं व्यापार नीति समीक्षा का अंतिम सत्र था। व्यापार नीति की समीक्षा विश्व व्यापार संगठन के निगरानी समारोह के तहत एक महत्वपूर्ण तंत्र है। इस व्यापार नीति की समीक्षा के दौरान, डब्ल्यूटीओ ने डब्ल्यूटीओ के नियमों का पालन करने और रचनात्मक प्रतिक्रिया प्रदान करने के उद्देश्य से सदस्य देशों की व्यापार और संबंधित नीतियों का आकंलन किया है।

भारत व्यापार नीति की समीक्षा (TPR) के महत्वपूर्ण बिंदु:

• 7 वें TPR के भारतीय आधिकारिक प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व वाणिज्य सचिव अनूप वधावन ने किया।
• वाणिज्य सचिव ने पहले टीपीआर सत्र के दौरान सदस्यों द्वारा पूछे गए सभी मुद्दों पर प्रतिक्रिया दी।
• वाणिज्य सचिव ने सदस्यों से खाद्य सुरक्षा के लिए सार्वजनिक स्टॉक होल्डिंग (पीएसएच) का स्थायी समाधान प्रदान करने का भी आग्रह किया।
• भारत समग्र घरेलू कारोबारी माहौल को सरल और कारगर बनाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और इसका उद्देश्य विश्व बैंक की डूइंग बिजनेस रिपोर्ट में शीर्ष 50 में जगह बनाना है।
• इससे पहले, भारत की आखिरी व्यापार नीति समीक्षा वर्ष 2015 में आयोजित की गई थी।

सरकार ने NFHS-5 के निष्कर्षों का अध्ययन करने के लिए प्रीति पंत के नेतृत्व में गठित किया पैनल

• स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय ने हाल ही में राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वेक्षण-5 से प्रतिकूल निष्कर्षों का अध्ययन करने के लिए एक तकनीकी विशेषज्ञ समूह का गठन किया है। मंत्रालय ने संयुक्त सचिव प्रीति पंत के नेतृत्व में चिकित्सा और पोषण विशेषज्ञों की तकनीकी समिति का गठन किया है।

राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वेक्षण -5 के बारे में:

• विशेषज्ञ समूह में मध्य प्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़ और कर्नाटक के राज्य कार्यक्रम अधिकारी भी शामिल हैं।
• समिति राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वेक्षण -5 के निष्कर्षों की जांच करेगी और साथ ही एनीमिया, कुपोषण, सी-सेक्शन और स्टंटिंग से संबंधित संकेतकों पर सुधार करने के लिए नीतियों और कार्रवाई के पाठ्यक्रम का सुझाव देगी।
• नवगठित तकनीकी विशेषज्ञ समूह नियमित रूप से बैठकें करेगा और जल्द ही अपनी सिफारिशें देगा।
• अब तक, कोई बैठक नहीं हुई है और पहली बैठक के लिए कोई तारीख तय नहीं की गई है।

 राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वेक्षण -5:

• राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वेक्षण -5 के पहले चरण की फैक्टशीट दिसंबर 2020 में जारी की गई थी।
• इस शीट में 22 राज्यों/केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों को शामिल किया गया और 131 संकेतकों जैसे परिवार कल्याण, जनसंख्या, पोषण, प्रजनन और बाल स्वास्थ्य इत्यादि के बारे में जानकारी दी गई।
• राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वेक्षण -5 से पहले वर्ष1992-93, 1998–99, 2005–06 और 2015-16 में चार सर्वेक्षण किए गए हैं।
• एनएफएचएस के सभी राउंड इंटरनेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट फॉर पॉपुलेशन साइंसेज (आईआईपीएस), मुंबई द्वारा आयोजित किए गए थे।

• वयोवृद्ध पत्रकार और वक्ता (सार्वजनिक वक्ता) श्री तुरलापति कुटुम्बा राव का निधन हो गया। वह तेलुगु भाषा में पत्रकारिता के लिए अपनी सेवा के लिए जाने जाते हैं। उन्होंने 4000 से अधिक आत्मकथाएँ लिखी हैं और 16000 से अधिक सार्वजनिक भाषण दिए हैं जिन्हें तेलुगु बुक ऑफ़ रिकॉर्ड्स द्वारा विश्व रिकॉर्ड के रूप में दर्ज किया गया है।
• वर्ष 2002 में राव को चौथे सर्वोच्च भारतीय नागरिक पुरस्कार पद्मश्री सहित उनके कार्यक्षेत्र के लिए कई सम्मान मिले है, जिससे वह आंध्र प्रदेश राज्य के पहले पत्रकार बन गए जिन्होंने यह पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया।

राष्ट्रीय सड़क सुरक्षा माह 2021: 18 जनवरी - 17 फरवरी

• सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्रालय प्रति वर्ष जनवरी के दूसरे सप्ताह (National Road Safety Week) में राष्ट्रीय सड़क सुरक्षा सप्ताह मनाता है, लेकिन वर्ष, 2021 में सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय सड़क सुरक्षा सप्ताह की जगह राष्ट्रीय सड़क सुरक्षा माह (National Road Safety Month) मनाने का निर्णय किया है।
• अब से 18 जनवरी, 2021 से 17 फरवरी, 2021 के दौरान राष्ट्रीय सड़क सुरक्षा महीना मनाया जाएगा। इस अवधि के दौरान देश भर में केंद्र/राज्य सरकारों/केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों प्रशासन, और अन्य के संगठनों साथ मिलकर देश भर में विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाएगा।

 राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस: 12 जनवरी

• प्रति वर्ष 12 जनवरी को स्वामी विवेकानंद की जयंती के उपलक्ष्य में भारत में राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को मनाए जाने की घोषणा वर्ष 1984 में भारत सरकार द्वारा की गई थी और इसे पहली पहली बार 1985 में मनाया गया था। इस दिन को मनाए जाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि देश भर के छात्रों को स्वामी विवेकानंद के जीवन, विचारों और दर्शन के बारे में जानने और उन्हें अपने जीवन में लागू करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जा सके।
• वर्ष 2021 में, स्वामी विवेकानंद (12 जनवरी 1863) की 158 वीं जयंती मनाई जा रही हैं। राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस 2021 का विषय है 'Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building'.

 सम्‍मेलन एवं समझौते

IREDA-NHPC ने ग्रीन एनर्जी परियोजना के लिए मिलाया हाथ

• एनएचपीसी लिमिटेड ने अगले 5 वर्षों में अक्षय ऊर्जा (renewable energy) परियोजनाओं की स्थापना में सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए भारतीय अक्षय ऊर्जा विकास एजेंसी (Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर NHPC के CMD अभय कुमार सिंह और IREDA के CMD प्रदीप कुमार दास की उपस्थिति में किए गए।
• NHPC जानकारी और प्रौद्योगिकी हस्तांतरण में मदद करेगा और परामर्श और अनुसंधान सेवाएं प्रदान करेगा।
• एनएचपीसी ने देश के नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा परिदृश्य पर महत्वपूर्ण प्रभाव डालने के लिए एक महत्वाकांक्षी योजना शुरू की है।
• योजना के तहत, एनएचपीसी अगले 3 वर्षों में 7.5 गीगावॉट नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा परियोजनाओं का विकास करेगी।
• एनएचपीसी ने पहले ही स्वामित्व के आधार पर 102.5 मेगावाट की एक अक्षय क्षमता का सफलतापूर्वक कमीशन कर लिया है और मध्यस्थ के आधार पर 2000 मेगावाट का अनुबंध किया है।

Bangladesh declared as ‘Country in Focus’ for 51st IFFI

• Bangladesh has been chosen as the ‘Country in Focus’ for the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The festival will be held at Goa from January 16 to January 24, 2021. The Country in Focus is a special segment that recognizes the cinematic excellence and contributions of the country. This section at the 51st IFFI will showcase four films from Bangladesh.
• The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), is being held annually since 1952, in Goa. The event is organised jointly by the Directorate of Film Festivals (under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) and the state Government of Goa.

 Indonesian Jetliner crashes into the sea after takeoff

• A passenger plane of Indonesia’s Sriwijaya Air carrying 62 people on board crashed into waters off Jakarta. The Boeing 737-500 was on an estimated 90-minute flight from Jakarta to Pontianak, capital of West Kalimantan province on Indonesia’s Borneo island.
• The Sriwijaya Air disappeared from radars four minutes into its journey to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province. It is thought to have dropped more than 3,000m (10,000ft) in less than a minute.

Twitter deletes new Trump tweets on @POTUS, suspends campaign account

• Twitter Inc has deleted new tweets posted by U.S. President Donald Trump on official government account @POTUS and suspended the account of his presidential campaign, after booting his personal account of the platform permanently. @POTUS Twitter account is an official Twitter account of US President Donald Trump. The Account is named President Trump.
• The POTUS Twitter account is in the news because President Trump used the account to tweet against “Twitter” after the company permanently banned and suspended the @realDonaldTrump of Trump.
• Trump tweeted that Twitter has conspired with his rivals and suspended his account to silence him.
• Earlier, Twitter released an official statement about the permanent suspension of the @realDonaldTrump Twitter account.
• After the tweets by Trump through the @POTUS account, Twitter deleted his tweets.
• @POTUS account has 33.4 million followers at present.

Harsh Vardhan launches Coastal Research Vessel Sagar Anveshika

• Union Minister for Earth Sciences, Harsh Vardhan has launched Coastal Research Vehicle (CRV) ‘Sagar Anveshika’ at the Chennai Port. The vehicle will be used to carry out environment indexing and bathymetric (mapping underwater features) in both coastal and offshore waters.
• It will be used for research purposes by the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) and has been built by Titagarh Wagons, Kolkata, West Bengal. NIOT already has 6 Research Vessels – Sagar Kanya, Sagar Sampada, Sagar Nidhi, Sagar Manusha, & Sagar Tara.
• Anveshika has been built under the Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) and is a DP (Dynamic Positioning)-Capable vessel.
• Anveshika will add to the capacity and capability for exploring the ocean which is a huge source of water, energy, food, minerals.
• Utilizing the Research Vehicle, Marine Scientists can travel six kilometres below the sea. The scientists can also stay underwater for more than 16 hours to conduct research activities.
• Anveshika will enable scientists to conduct various oceanographic research missions aboard, it houses modern laboratories equipped with the latest instruments.

 India’s 7th Trade Policy Review (TPR) at WTO

• The second session of the 7th Trade Policy Review (TPR) of India concluded at the World Trade Organization (WTO). This was the final session of the 7th trade policy review. Trade Policy Review is a key mechanism under the monitoring function of WTO. During this trade policy review, WTO examines the trade and related policies of the member countries with an aim to improve their adherence to WTO rules and to provide constructive feedback.

Important Points Trade Policy Review (TPR) of India:

• The official delegation of India for the 7th TPR was headed by Anup Wadhawan, the Commerce Secretary.
• The Commerce Secretary responded to all the issues rose by the Members during the 1st TPR session of India.
• The Commerce Secretary also urged the members to provide a permanent solution to Public Stock Holding (PSH) for food security.
• India is committed to simplify and streamline the overall domestic business environment and has an aim to make a place in the top 50 in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report.
• Before this, the last Trade Policy Review of India was held in the year 2015.

 Preeti Pant Panel to study adverse findings of NFHS-5

• The Health and Family Welfare Ministry has recently formed a technical expert group to study the adverse findings from the National Family Health Survey-5. The Ministry has set up the technical committee of medicine and nutrition experts under the leadership of Joint Secretary Preeti Pant.

About National Family Health Survey-5:

• The expert group also includes State programme officers from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka.
• The committee will examine the findings of the National Family Health Survey-5 as well as suggest policies and courses of action to improve on indicators related to anaemia, malnutrition, C-section, and stunting.
• The newly formed technical expert group will conduct meetings regularly and will provide its recommendations soon.
• As of now, no meeting has been held and no date has been finalized for the first meeting.

National Family Health Survey-5:

• The factsheet of the 1st phase of National Family Health Survey-5 was released in December 2020.
• The sheet covered 22 States/UTs and provided information on 131 indicators like family welfare, population, nutrition, reproductive and child health, etc.
• Before the National Family Health Survey-5, four surveys have been conducted in the years 1992–93, 1998–99, 2005–06, and 2015–16.
• All the NFHS rounds were conducted by the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai.

Jay Shah named BCCI’s Official Representative on ICC Board

• Jay Shah has been named as the official representative of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board meetings. Shah is the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
• He will replace BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, who was currently representing India at the ICC Board, but he suffered a heart condition recently and had to be admitted to hospital where he underwent primary angioplasty.

 OBITUARY

Padma Shri Awardee Telugu Journalist Turlapati Kutumba Rao passes away

• Veteran journalist and orator (public speaker) Sri Turlapati Kutumba Rao has passed away. He is known for his service to journalism in the Telugu language. He has written over 4000 biographies and delivered over 16000 public speeches which have been recorded by the Telugu Book of Records as a world record.
• Rao has received a number of honour for his field of work, including the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri, in 2002, making him the first journalist from the state of Andhra Pradesh to receive the award.

 IMPORTANT DAYS

National Road Safety Month 2021: 18 January – 17 February

• The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways observes the National Road Safety Week every year in the second week of January. However, in 2021, the Government has decided to observe National Road Safety Month instead of National Road Safety Week.
• Accordingly, the National Road Safety Month will be observed from 18th January, 2021′ to 17th February’ 2021. During this period nation-wide various activities will be conducted throughout the country in association with the Central/ State Governments/ UT administrations, and other stakeholders.

 National Youth Day: 12 January

• National Youth Day is celebrated in India every year on 12 January to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The day was declared by the Government of India in 1984 while the event was first celebrated in 1985. The main aim behind this is to make sure that the students across the country can be encouraged to learn about the life, the ideas and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and apply them in their lives.
• In 2021, we are observing 158th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand (12 January 1863). The theme for National Youth Day 2021 is ‘Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building‘.

IREDA-NHPC Partnership in Green Energy Projects

• NHPC Limited has signed an MOU with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) for providing assistance in setting up renewable energy (RE) projects for the next 5 years. The agreement was signed in the presence of Abhay Kumar Singh, NHPC CMD, and IREDA, CMD, Pradip Kumar Das.
• NHPC will help in the knowledge and technology transfer and provide consultancy and research services.
• NHPC has undertaken an ambitious plan to make a significant impact on the renewable energy landscape of the country.
• Under the plan, NHPC will develop 7.5 GW of renewable energy projects in the next 3 years.
• NHPC has already successfully commissioned a renewable capacity of 102.5 MW on an ownership basis and has contracted 2000 MW as an intermediary procurer basis.
