मानसा वाराणसी, वीएलसीसी फेमिना मिस इंडिया वर्ल्ड 2020 विजेता

• तेलंगाना स्थित मनासा वाराणसी को वीएलसीसी फेमिना मिस इंडिया वर्ल्ड 2020 के विजेता के रूप में ताज पहनाया गया है। मनासा वाराणसी को राजस्थान की मिस इंडिया 2019 की विजेता, सुमन रतन सिंह राव द्वारा ताज पहनाया गया था।
• 23 वर्षीय अब दिसंबर 2021 में 70 वें मिस वर्ल्ड पेजेंट में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करेंगी। हैदराबाद में जन्मी मानसा वाराणसी पेशे से इंजीनियर हैं और एक वित्तीय सूचना विनिमय विश्लेषक के रूप में काम करती हैं। 

पीएम मोदी ने किया विश्व सतत विकास शिखर सम्मेलन 2021 का उद्घाटन

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से विश्व सतत विकास शिखर सम्मेलन 2021 का उद्घाटन किया है। शिखर सम्मेलन का विषय: हमारे सामान्य भविष्य को पुन:परिभाषित करना: सभी के लिए संरक्षित और सुरक्षित वातावरण (Redefining our common future: Safe and secure environment for all)’ है। 2021 WSD शिखर सम्मेलन 'द एनर्जी एंड रिसोर्सेज इंस्टीट्यूट (TERI)’ द्वारा आयोजित प्रमुख कार्यक्रम का 20 वां संस्करण है।
• शिखर सम्मेलन में जलवायु परिवर्तन के खिलाफ लड़ाई में कई सरकारें, व्यापारिक नेता, शिक्षाविद, जलवायु वैज्ञानिक, युवा और नागरिक समाज एक साथ आएंगे। पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय, नवीन और नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा मंत्रालय तथा पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय शिखर सम्मेलन के प्रमुख भागीदार हैं।

 कर्नाटक का 31 वां जिला बना विजयनगर

• कर्नाटक सरकार ने विजयनगर को राज्य का 31वां जिला घोषित करने के लिए एक आधिकारिक गजट अधिसूचना जारी की। नए जिले को बेल्लारी से अलग किया गया है और इस क्षेत्र से शासित विजयनगर साम्राज्य के नाम पर रखा गया है।
• विजयनगर जिले में छह तालुका होंगे और होसपेट इसका मुख्यालय होगा। नए जिले में कुडलिगि, हगारिबोम्मानाहल्ली, कोट्टुरू, होविना हदगली और हर्पनहल्ली अन्य तालुक होंगे। यूनेस्को का विश्व धरोहर स्थल हम्पी में स्मारकों के प्रतिष्ठित क्लस्टर विजयनगर का हिस्सा होंगे।

UAE के होप का मंगल की कक्षा में सफलतापूर्वक प्रवेश

• संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) के अंतरिक्ष यान 'होप' ने मंगल ग्रह के आसपास की कक्षा में प्रवेश कर लिया है। UAE संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, सोवियत संघ, यूरोप और भारत के बाद अंतरिक्ष यान को मंगल की कक्षा में लॉन्च करने वाला पांचवा देश बन गया है। कक्षा में अंतरिक्ष यान के सफल प्रक्षेपण के साथ, UAE के वैज्ञानिक अब ग्रह के वायुमंडल का अध्ययन कर सकते हैं।
• अंतरिक्ष मिशन दैनिक और मौसमी चक्र और मौसम की घटनाओं जैसे निचले वातावरण में धूल के तूफान पर अध्ययन करेगा। यह अध्ययन करेगा कि मंगल गृह पर विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में मौसम कैसे बदलता है।
• अंतरिक्ष यान ने सात महीने पहले पृथ्वी को छोड़ दिया था।
• अंतरिक्ष यान ऑक्सीजन और हाइड्रोजन के न्यूट्रल परमाणुओं को अंतरिक्ष में कैसे लीक करता है, इसका निरीक्षण करने के लिए अंतरिक्ष यान इसके साथ तीन उपकरणों को ले जाता है। हाइड्रोजन और ऑक्सीजन मंगल के वायुमंडल में आ गए हैं जो मंगल के प्रचुर जल के अवशेष हैं।
• होप अंतरिक्ष यान मंगल की शानदार, हाई-रिज़ॉल्यूशन, पूर्ण-डिस्क छवियों को लाएगा।
• अंतरिक्ष यान यह भी अध्ययन करना चाहता है कि ग्रह अंतरिक्ष में हाइड्रोजन और ऑक्सीजन को क्यों खो रहा है।

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मिर्गी दिवस 2021

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मिर्गी दिवस दुनिया भर में हर साल फरवरी के दूसरे सोमवार को मनाया जाता है। 2021 में, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मिर्गी दिवस 08 फरवरी को मनाया गया।
• इस दिन का आयोजन संयुक्त रूप से इंटरनेशनल ब्यूरो फॉर एपिलेप्सी (IBE) और इंटरनेशनल लीग अगेंस्ट एपिलेप्सी (ILAE) द्वारा मिर्गी के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने और पीड़ितों, उनके दोस्तों और परिवार के सामने आने वाली समस्याओं को उजागर करने के लिए किया जाता है। मिर्गी एक न्यूरोलॉजिकल विकार है जो व्यक्ति को संवेदी बाधा के अचानक और आवर्तक एपिसोड से गुजरता है।

रॉटरडैम इंटरनेशनल फिल्म फेस्टिवल 2021 में तमिल फिल्म “Koozhangal” ने जीता टाइगर अवार्ड

• तमिल फिल्म “Koozhangal” ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म फेस्टिवल रॉटरडैम 2021 के 50 वें संस्करण में "टाइगर" पुरस्कार जीता है। बेस्ट फिल्म के लिए दिया गया टाइगर पुरस्कार इस फेस्टिवल का शीर्ष सम्मान है। Koozhangal का अर्थ कंकड़ है, इसे नयनतारा द्वारा निर्मित तथा विनोद राज पीएस द्वारा निर्देशित किया गया है।
• यह अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार जीतने वाली दूसरी भारतीय फिल्म और पहली तमिल फिल्म है। मलयालम निर्देशक शशिधरन द्वारा निर्देशित पहली भारतीय फिल्म "दुर्गा" थी। टाइगर पुरस्कार में मिलने वाला 40,000 यूरो का नकद पुरस्कार विजेता फिल्म के निर्देशक और निर्माता के बीच साझा किया जाता है।

 बेंगलुरु एयरपोर्ट ने जीता ACI वर्ल्डस 'वॉयस ऑफ द कस्टमर’ अवार्ड

• बैंगलोर इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट लिमिटेड (BIAL) या केम्पेगौड़ा इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट बेंगलुरु ने एयरपोर्ट काउंसिल इंटरनेशनल वर्ल्डस 'वॉयस ऑफ द कस्टमर' अवार्ड से वैश्विक मान्यता प्राप्त की है। ‘वॉयस ऑफ द कस्टमर’ उन हवाईअड्डों को मान्यता देता है जो अपने ग्राहकों को प्राथमिकता देते रहे और यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध रहे कि उनकी आवाज़ को साल 2020 में कोविड-19 महामारी के दौरान सुना जाए।
• बेंगलूरु अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाईअड्डे ने ACI के एयरपोर्ट सर्विस क्वालिटी (ASQ) कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से यात्री प्रतिक्रिया एकत्र करने में महत्वपूर्ण प्रयास किए हैं और इससे ग्राहकों को बेहतर तरीके से समझने में मदद मिली और परिस्थितियों में एक बेहतर ग्राहक अनुभव देने के लिए प्रतिबद्धता प्रदर्शित हुई। BIAL के #WeAreHereForYou के तहत, 2020 में कोविड -19 के प्रकोप के बाद संदेश को फैलाने और यात्रियों के विश्वास के पुनर्निर्माण के लिए विभिन्न अभियान चलाए गए।

 बैंकिंग और आर्थिक

(NDB) ने (NIIF) ,(FoF) में 100 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर का निवेश करने की प्रतिबद्धता जताई

• न्यू डेवलपमेंट बैंक (NDB) ने नेशनल इन्वेस्टमेंट एंड इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर फंड लिमिटेड (NIIF) फंड ऑफ फंड्स (FoF) में 100 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर (727.6 करोड़ रुपये) का निवेश करने की प्रतिबद्धता जताई है। NDB के निवेश के साथ, FoF द्वारा सुरक्षित कुल प्रतिबद्धता $ 800 मिलियन (लगभग 5,820 करोड़ रुपये) तक पहुँच गई है। यह निवेश भारत में एनडीबी के पहले इक्विटी निवेश और फंड के फंड में पहला निवेश है।
• वर्तमान में, भारत सरकार (GoI), एशियन इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर इन्वेस्टमेंट बैंक (AIIB) और एशियन डेवलपमेंट बैंक (ADB) FoF में निवेशक हैं। अब NDB ग्रुप में शामिल हो गया है। FoF की स्थापना 2018 में भारत-केंद्रित संस्थागत निवेशक के लिए घरेलू निजी इक्विटी फ़ंड मैनेजरों तक पहुँच प्रदान करने के उद्देश्य से की गई थी जो बड़े पैमाने पर संचालित होता है।
• निवेश से भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था को बहुत लाभ होगा जो महामारी के कारण कठिनाइयों का सामना कर रहा है।

 UPI मल्टी-बैंक मॉडल पर एक्सिस बैंक के साथ फोनपे ने की साझेदारी

• डिजिटल भुगतान मंच, फ़ोनपे (PhonePe) ने घोषणा की है कि उसने यूनिफाइड पेमेंट्स इंटरफेस (UPI) मल्टी-बैंक मॉडल पर एक्सिस बैंक के साथ भागीदारी की है। साझेदारी, फ़ोनपे (PhonePe) उपयोगकर्ताओं को एक्सिस बैंक के "@axl" हैंडल के साथ कई UPI आईडी बनाने और उपयोग करने का विकल्प प्रदान करेगी।
• फोनपे के साथ यह सहयोग भारतीय भुगतान पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के डिजिटलीकरण के प्रति हमारी प्रतिबद्धता को मजबूत करता है। यह सुरक्षित और निर्बाध भुगतान अनुभव प्रदान करते हुए ग्राहकों और व्यापारी समुदाय तक हमारी पहुंच का विस्तार करने में मदद करेगा।

 20,000 करोड़ रुपये के बॉन्ड खरीदेगा RBI

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने घोषणा की है कि वह चार सरकारी प्रतिभूतियों (G-Sec) को खरीदेगा, जिनकी कीमत 20,000 करोड़ रुपये होगी। केंद्रीय बैंक इसे 10 फरवरी 2021 को ओपन मार्केट ऑपरेशन (OMO) के तहत खरीदेगा। इस कदम की घोषणा हाल ही में 6.1634 प्रतिशत के इंट्रा-डे को छूने के लिए बढ़ रही पैदावार के बाद की गई थी। RBI उच्च सरकारी उधार के बारे में चिंतित था।
• OMO की खरीद की घोषणा के बाद, बेंचमार्क 10-वर्षीय G-Sec पर उपज 3-4 आधार अंकों से धीमी हो गई। अब यह 6.1283 प्रतिशत की पिछली बंद उपज के विपरीत 5.77 प्रतिशत की कूपन दर वहन करता है।
• ओपन मार्केट ऑपरेशंस, RBI द्वारा बाज़ार से और को सरकारी प्रतिभूतियों (G-Sec) की खरीद और बिक्री हैं। ओपन मार्केट ऑपरेशंस का संचालन अर्थव्यवस्था में रुपये की तरलता की स्थिति को समायोजित करने के उद्देश्य से किया जाता है। ऐसे ऑपरेशंस में, जब RBI बाजार में सरकारी सुरक्षा बेचता है तो बैंक उन्हें खरीदने के लिए उपयोग करते हैं। जब बैंक सरकारी प्रतिभूतियों की खरीद करते हैं, तो उद्योगों, घरों और अन्य वाणिज्यिक क्षेत्र को पैसा उधार देने की उनकी क्षमता कम हो जाती है। सरप्लस कैश कम होने के बाद रुपये की तरलता भी सिकुड़ जाती है। इससे क्रेडिट निर्माण या क्रेडिट आपूर्ति में संकुचन होता है। दूसरी ओर, जब RBI प्रतिभूतियों की खरीद करता है, तो वाणिज्यिक बैंकों को अधिशेष नकद मिलता है और यह बदले में सिस्टम में अधिक क्रेडिट बनाता है।

Manasa Varanasi crowned VLCC Femina Miss India World 2020

• Telangana-based Manasa Varanasi has been crowned as the winner of VLCC Femina Miss India World 2020. Manasa Varanasi was crowned by the winner of Miss India 2019, Suman Ratan Singh Rao from Rajasthan.
• The 23-year-old will now represent India at the 70th Miss World pageant in December 2021. Born in Hyderabad, Manasa Varanasi is an engineer by profession and works as a financial information exchange analyst.

 PM Modi inaugurates World Sustainable Development Summit 2021

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the World Sustainable Development Summit 2021 through video conferencing. The theme of the Summit is ‘Redefining our common future: Safe and secure environment for all’. 2021 WSD Summit is the 20th edition of the flagship event organised by ‘The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI)’.
• The Summit will bring together a wide number of governments, business leaders, academicians, climate scientists, youth, and the civil society in the fight against climate change. The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Ministry of Earth Sciences are key partners of the Summit.

 Vijayanagara officially declared as 31st District of Karnataka

• The Karnataka government issued an official gazette notification to declare Vijayanagara as the 31st district of the state. The new district has been carved out of Ballari and named after the Vijayanagara empire that ruled from this region.
• The Vijayanagara district will have six taluks and its headquarter will be at Hosapete. The other taluks in the new district are Kudligi, Hagaribommana Halli, Kotturu, Hoovina Hadagali, and Harapanahalli. The iconic cluster of monuments at Hampi or Hampe, a UNESCO world heritage site, will be part of the Vijaynagara.

 SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

UAE Hope Probe successfully enters Mars’ orbit

• The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has put a probe called Hope in the orbit around the MARS. UAE has become the fifth country to launch the spacecraft into the orbit of MARS after United States, Soviet Union, Europe and India. With the successful launch of spacecraft in orbit, UAE scientists can now study the planet’s atmosphere.
• The space mission will carry the study on daily and seasonal weather cycles and weather events such as dust storm in the lower atmosphere. It will study how the weather varies in different regions on the MARS.
• The spacecraft had left the Earth seven months ago.
• The spacecraft carries three instruments with it to observe how neutral atoms of Oxygen and Hydrogen leak into space. The hydrogen and oxygen came into the MARS’ atmosphere are the remnants from Mars’ once abundant water.
• The Hope spacecraft will bring the spectacular, high-resolution, full-disk images of MARS.
• The spacecraft also seeks to study why the planet is losing the hydrogen and oxygen into space.

International Epilepsy Day 2021

• The International Epilepsy Day is observed on the second Monday of February every year across the world. In 2021, the International Epilepsy Day was observed on February 08.
• The day is organised jointly by the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) and the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) to raise awareness about epilepsy and highlight the kinds of problems faced by victims, their friends and family. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder which makes a person go through sudden and recurrent episodes of sensory disturbances.

Koozhangal” Wins Tiger Award at Rotterdam International Film Festival 2021

• The Tamil film “Koozhangal” has won “Tiger” award, at the 50th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2021. The Tiger award is the top honour of the festival, given for best film. Koozhangal (meaning Pebbles) has been Produced by Nayanthara and directed by Vinod Raj PS.
• This is the second Indian film to win this international award and the first Tamil Film. The first Indian film was “Durga” directed by the Malayalam director Shashidharan. The Tiger Award worth Euro 40,000 cash prize, is shared between the director and producer of the winning film.

New Development Bank Commits $100 million in NIIF Fund of Funds

• The New Development Bank (NDB) has committed to invest USD 100 million (Rs 727.6 crore), into the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited (NIIF) Fund of Funds (FoF). With NDB’s investment, the total commitments secured by the FoF has reached $800 million (about Rs 5,820 crore). This investment marks NDB’s first equity investment into India and its first-ever investment into a Fund of Funds.
• Currently, the Government of India (GoI), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) are the investor in the FoF. Now NDB has joined the group. The FoF was established in 2018 with the objective of providing homegrown Indian private equity fund managers access to an India-focused institutional investor that operates at scale.
• The Investments will hugely benefit the Indian economy which is facing difficulties due to pandemic.
• It will also support India’s efforts to boost investment in infrastructure.
• NDB’s support will further address issues like investment gaps, availability of institutional funding for domestic private equity funds.

 PhonePe partners with Axis Bank on UPI multi-bank model

• Digital payments platform, PhonePe has announced that it has partnered with Axis Bank on a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) multi-bank model. The partnership will provide PhonePe users with the option to create and use multiple UPI IDs with Axis Bank’s “@axl” handle.
• This collaboration with PhonePe strengthens our commitment towards digitisation of the Indian payment ecosystem. It will help expand our reach to customers and the merchant community while offering secure and seamless payment experiences.
• PhonePe had emerged as the top UPI app in January, processing 968.72 million transactions worth ₹1.92 trillion, according to data by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). PhonePe will also start acquiring merchants with Axis Bank in addition to its partnership with YES Bank. It will help expand our reach to customers and the merchant community while offering secure and seamless payment experiences.

 RBI to conduct bond purchases for Rs 20,000 crore

• Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that it will purchase four government securities (G-Secs) that amount to ₹20,000 crores. The central bank will purchase it on February 10, 2021, under the open market operations (OMOs). This move was announced in aftermath of the yields that were moving up to touch the intra-day high of 6.1634 per cent recently. The RBI was concerned about the higher government borrowing.
• After the announcement of the OMO purchase was made, the yield on the benchmark 10-year G-Sec slowed down by 3-4 basis points. It now carries a coupon rate of 5.77 per cent as opposed to its previous closing yield of 6.1283 per cent.
• Open Market Operations are the purchase and sale of the Government securities (G-Secs) by RBI from and to the market. The Open Market Operations are conducted with the objective of adjusting the rupee liquidity conditions in the economy. In such operations, when RBI sells the government security in the market banks use to purchase them. When the banks purchase the Government securities, their ability to lend money to the industries, households and other commercial sector gets reduced. Following the reduced surplus cash, the liquidity of the rupee also contracts. This results in contraction of the credit creation or the credit supply. On the other hand, when the RBI purchases the securities, commercial banks find gets surplus cash and this in turn creates more credit in the system.
