World Bank’s Flagship Gender Toolkit Launched

• A Gender Toolkit based on “Enabling gender-responsive urban mobility and public spaces” was launched in a session conducted by the World Bank and the Chennai Urban Metropolitan Transport Authority.

Britain, Italy and Japan to jointly develop future fighter jet

• Britain, Italy, and Japan on Friday said, they will jointly develop a future fighter jet that uses artificial intelligence.
• The three nations held out the prospect of cooperation with European and US allies, which are developing their own sixth-generation planes, vowing to maintain interoperability among all the allies against threats from the likes of China.

J&K awarded 1st prize in category for Ayushman Bharat health account ID generation

• Jammu and Kashmir has been awarded 1st prize in the category for Ayushman Bharat health account ID generation and 2nd prize in the category for Teleconsultation conducted during the celebration of Universal Health Coverage Day 2022 which is being celebrated on 10th and 11th December at International Cooperation and Convention Centre, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

 

Country's largest business jet terminal commissioned at Cochin International Airport

• Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the country's first chartered gateway, and a business jet terminal at the Cochin International Airport.
• With this, Cochin airport has become the fourth airport in the country to operate a private jet terminal. The Chief Minister is also the Chairman of the Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL).

YES Bank gets RBI nod to raise capital from Carlyle, Verventa Holdings

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued two letters to YES Bank as the final go-ahead for its proposed capital raise plan from the Carlyle Group and Verventa Holdings, the bank said in a statement while informing the exchanges.
• YES Bank will now engage with the investors for completion of the proposed capital raise, subject to various regulatory compliances.

GoI appointed Meenesh C Shah as the Managing Director of NDDB

• National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has appointed Meenesh C Shah as its Managing Director with effect from November 15. Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Parshottam Rupala informed that the Gujarat-based NDDB does not have regular chairman since December 2020.
• Varsha Joshi, the then Joint Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, held the additional charge of the post of Chairman, NDDB, from December 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021.

• UNICEF Day is observed every year on December 11. The United Nations General Assembly created UNICEF on December 11, 1946, as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.
• The organisation was originally named United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.

 International Mountain Day  

• International Mountain Day is marked annually on 11 December to create awareness about mountains. The United Nations accepted a document titled “Managing Fragile Ecosystems: Sustainable Mountain Development” while the Commission on Sustainable Development was held in 1992.
• The United Nations General Assembly then declared 11 December as International Mountain Day in 2003.
• The theme for 2022 is “Women move mountains”
