मोहम्मद मोखबर ईरान के पहले उपराष्ट्रपति बने

• ईरान के नए राष्ट्रपति इब्राहिम रईसी ने संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका द्वारा स्वीकृत एक शक्तिशाली राज्य के स्वामित्व वाली नींव के अध्यक्ष को अपने पहले उपाध्यक्ष के रूप में नामित किया। मोहम्मद मोखबेर ने कई वर्षों तक सेताद या इमाम खोमैनी के आदेश के निष्पादन के रूप में जानी जाने वाली नींव का नेतृत्व किया है।
• मोखबेर को 2007 में सर्वोच्च नेता आयतोल्लाह अली ख़ामेनेई द्वारा इस पद पर नियुक्त किया गया था। सेताद की स्थापना मूल रूप से 1980 के दशक के अंत में 1979 की इस्लामिक क्रांति के बाद जब्त की गई संपत्तियों के प्रबंधन के लिए की गई थी।

यूनिसेफ इंडिया, फेसबुक ने बच्चों के खिलाफ हिंसा को समाप्त करने के लिए एक वर्ष की संयुक्त पहल शुरू की

• यूनिसेफ इंडिया और फेसबुक ने ऑनलाइन सुरक्षा पर विशेष ध्यान देने के साथ बच्चों के खिलाफ हिंसा को समाप्त करने के लिए एक वर्ष की संयुक्त पहल शुरू की है। साझेदारी ऑनलाइन और ऑफलाइन बच्चों के लिए एक सुरक्षित वातावरण बनाने का प्रयास करती है। इसका उद्देश्य बच्चों के लचीलेपन और डिजिटल विश्‍व तक सुरक्षित रूप से पहुंचने की क्षमता में सुधार करना, बच्चों के खिलाफ हिंसा और बच्चों, परिवारों और समुदायों पर इसके प्रभाव के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना और हिंसा को बेहतर ढंग से रोकने और प्रतिक्रिया देने के लिए समुदायों और फ्रंटलाइन कार्यकर्ताओं के कौशल को बढ़ाना है।
• साझेदारी में एक राष्ट्रव्यापी सोशल मीडिया अभियान और ऑनलाइन सुरक्षा , डिजिटल साक्षरता और मनोसामाजिक समर्थन पर 100,000 स्कूली बच्चों के लिए क्षमता निर्माण शामिल है। बच्चों के खिलाफ हिंसा को समाप्त करने के लिए जाने-माने अभिनेता और यूनिसेफ इंडिया के सेलिब्रिटी एडवोकेट आयुष्मान खुराना ने वर्चुअल इवेंट के दौरान अपना मुख्य संदेश दिया।

 आईटी मंत्रालय देश में पहले इंटरनेट गवर्नेंस फोरम की मेजबानी करेगा

• भारत इस वर्ष 20 अक्टूबर से देश में पहले इंटरनेट गवर्नेंस फोरम की मेजबानी करेगा। इस वर्ष की बैठक का विषय डिजिटल इंडिया के लिए समावेशी इंटरनेट है। इस घोषणा के साथ, संयुक्त राष्ट्र-आधारित फोरम का भारतीय अध्याय यानी इंटरनेट गवर्नेंस फोरम शुरू हो गया है। यह इंटरनेट से संबंधित सार्वजनिक नीति के मुद्दों पर चर्चा करने के लिए विभिन्न समूहों के प्रतिनिधियों को एक साथ लाने के लिए एक इंटरनेट शासन नीति चर्चा मंच है।
• इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय (MeitY) और भारत इंटरनेट गवर्नेंस फोरम 2021 (IGF) के समन्वय समिति के अध्यक्ष, नेशनल इंटरनेट एक्सचेंज ऑफ इंडिया (NIXI) ने भारत इंटरनेट गवर्नेंस फोरम (IIGF) -2021 के शुभारंभ की घोषणा की।

बैंकिंग धोखाधड़ी जागरूकता अभियान के लिए भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता, नीरज चोपड़ा को नियुक्त किया

• डिजिटल बैंकिंग धोखाधड़ी के खिलाफ लोगों को आगाह करने के लिए भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने एक जन जागरूकता अभियान शुरू किया है। नए अभियान के लिए आरबीआई (RBI) ने ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता नीरज चोपड़ा को अनुबंधित किया है। केंद्रीय बैंक ने लोगों से थोड़ा सतर्क रहने को कहा है क्योंकि ऐसा करने से उन्हें काफी परेशानियों से बचाया जा सकता है। थोड़ी सी सावधानी बहुत सारी मुसीबतों को दूर कर देती है।
• अभियान में चोपड़ा ने उपयोगकर्ताओं से ओटीपी , सीवीवी नंबर और एटीएम पिन जैसे विवरण किसी के सामने प्रकट नहीं करने का आग्रह किया है। उपयोगकर्ताओं को अपने ऑनलाइन बैंकिंग पासवर्ड और पिन नंबर को बार-बार बदलते रहना चाहिए और एटीएम कार्ड, क्रेडिट कार्ड, डेबिट कार्ड और/या प्रीपेड कार्ड खो जाने या चोरी होने पर तुरंत ब्लॉक कर देना चाहिए।

कमोडोर कासरगोड पटनाशेट्टी गोपाल राव का निधन हो गया

• 1971 के युद्ध नायक और महावीर चक्र प्राप्त करने वाले कमोडोर कासरगोड पटनाशेट्टी गोपाल राव का निधन हो गया। राव वीर सेवा पदक के प्राप्तकर्ता भी थे। उन्होंने पूर्वी पाकिस्तान को आजाद कराने के लिए पाकिस्तान के साथ युद्ध में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई जो अब बांग्लादेश है।
• राव ने पश्चिमी बेड़े के एक छोटे से कार्य समूह का नेतृत्व किया और ऑपरेशन कैक्टस लिली के हिस्से के रूप में कराची के तट पर एक आक्रामक अभियान चलाया। हवाई, सतह और पनडुब्बी हमले के खतरे के बावजूद, उन्होंने 4 दिसंबर, 1971 की रात को दुश्मन के पानी में समूह का नेतृत्व किया।

• "द अर्थस्पिनर" नामक पुस्तक पुरस्कार विजेता उपन्यासकार अनुराधा रॉय द्वारा लिखी गई है। पुस्तक में, रॉय ने "एलंगो कुम्हार के जीवन और मस्तिष्क, जिसे एक प्यारे पालतू जानवर के समर्पण, जटिल और असंभव प्रेम, रचनात्मकता के लिए अपने जुनून और छोटी-छोटी हिंसा से उलट-पलट हुई विश्‍व, जो आज के समय की विशेषता है," पर ध्यान केंद्रित करती है।

• सुधा मूर्ति द्वारा लिखित "हाउ द अर्थ गॉट इट्स ब्यूटी" नामक पुस्तक। पुस्तक पेंगुइन रैंडम हाउस इंप्रिंट पफिन द्वारा प्रकाशित की गई थी, इसमें प्रियंका पचपांडे के चित्र हैं। सुधा मूर्ति अंग्रेजी और कन्नड़ में एक विपुल लेखिका हैं, उन्होंने उपन्यास , तकनीकी किताबें, यात्रा वृतांत , लघु कथाओं और गैर-काल्पनिक टुकड़ों के संग्रह और बच्चों के लिए चार किताबें लिखी हैं। उनकी पुस्तकों का सभी प्रमुख भारतीय भाषाओं में अनुवाद किया गया है।

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने स्वयं सहायता समूहों को संपार्श्विक-मुक्त ऋण बढ़ाया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने डीएवाई-एनआरएलएम (दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना - राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन - के तहत स्वयं सहायता समूहों (एसएचजी) को संपार्श्विक-मुक्त ऋण की सीमा 10 लाख रुपये से बढ़ाकर 20 लाख रुपये कर दी है। डीएवाई-एनआरएलएम गरीबों, विशेषकर महिलाओं के लिए मजबूत संस्थानों के निर्माण के माध्यम से गरीबी में कमी को बढ़ावा देने और इन संस्थानों को वित्तीय सेवाओं और आजीविका की एक श्रृंखला तक पहुंचने में सक्षम बनाने के लिए भारत सरकार का प्रमुख कार्यक्रम है।
• एसएचजी को 10 लाख रुपये तक के ऋण के लिए, कोई संपार्श्विक और कोई मार्जिन नहीं लिया जाएगा। एसएचजी के बचत बैंक खाते के खिलाफ कोई धारणाधिकार चिह्नित नहीं किया जाना चाहिए और ऋण स्वीकृत करते समय किसी जमा राशि पर जोर नहीं दिया जाना चाहिए।
• एसएचजी को 10 लाख रुपये से अधिक और 20 लाख रुपये तक के ऋण के लिए, कोई संपार्श्विक शुल्क नहीं लिया जाना चाहिए और एसएचजी के बचत बैंक खाते के खिलाफ कोई धारणाधिकार नहीं होना चाहिए। हालाँकि, संपूर्ण ऋण (बकाया ऋण के बावजूद, भले ही वह बाद में 10 लाख रुपये से कम हो) माइक्रो यूनिट्स के लिए क्रेडिट गारंटी फंड (CGFMU) के तहत कवरेज के लिए पात्र होगा।

1 अक्टूबर से एटीएम में कैश खत्म होने पर रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया बैंकों को दंडित करेगा

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने 'एटीएम की गैर-पुनःपूर्ति के लिए दंड की योजना शुरू करने की घोषणा की है, जिसके अनुसार वह उन (ATMs/WLAs) पर मौद्रिक दंड लगाएगा जो नकदी से बाहर हो जाते हैं। (ATM) में नकदी की अनुपलब्धता के कारण जनता को होने वाली असुविधा से चिंतित रिजर्व बैंक ने ऐसी मशीनों में नोटों की समय पर पुनःपूर्ति करने में विफल रहने के लिए बैंकों को दंडित करने का निर्णय लिया है। (ATM) के माध्यम से जनता के लिए पर्याप्त नकदी उपलब्ध है यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एटीएम की पुनःपूर्ति न करने के लिए दंड की योजना तैयार की गई है।
• यह योजना 01 अक्टूबर, 2021 से प्रभावी होगी। इसलिए, बैंकों/डबल्यूएलएओ को एटीएम में नकदी की उपलब्धता की निगरानी के लिए एक मजबूत प्रणाली स्थापित करनी चाहिए और कैश-आउट से बचने के लिए समय पर पुनःपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करनी चाहिए।
• महीने में दस घंटे से अधिक के किसी भी एटीएम से कैश-आउट करने पर प्रति एटीएम रु 10,000/- का एक समान जुर्माना लगेगा। व्हाइट लेबल एटीएम के मामले में, उस बैंक से जुर्माना लगाया जाएगा जो उस विशेष डब्ल्यूएलए की नकदी आवश्यकता को पूरा कर रहा है। बैंक, अपने विवेक से, WLA ऑपरेटर से दंड की वसूली कर सकता है।

एशियाई विकास बैंक ने महाराष्ट्र ग्रामीण कनेक्टिविटी के लिए 300 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर के अतिरिक्त ऋण को मंजूरी दी

• मनीला स्थित एशियाई विकास बैंक ने ग्रामीण सड़कों के उन्नयन और दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों को बाजारों से जोड़ने के लिए चल रही महाराष्ट्र ग्रामीण कनेक्टिविटी सुधार परियोजना के लिए अतिरिक्त वित्तपोषण के रूप में 300 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर के ऋण को मंजूरी दी है। अतिरिक्त वित्त पोषण का उपयोग राज्य के 34 जिलों में अतिरिक्त 1,100 ग्रामीण सड़कों और 2,900 किलोमीटर की कुल लंबाई के लिए 230 पुलों के सुधार के लिए किया जाएगा।
• अगस्त 2019 में पूरे महाराष्ट्र ग्रामीण सड़कों की 2,100 किलोमीटर (किमी) की स्थिति और सुरक्षा में सुधार और रखरखाव के लिए परियोजना को मंजूरी दी गई थी।

Mohammad Mokhber first Vice President of Iran

• Iran’s new President Ebrahim Raisi named the chairman of a powerful state-owned foundation sanctioned by the United States as his first vice-president. Mohammad Mokhber has for years headed the foundation known as Setad or the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s order.
• Mokhber was appointed to the position by the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in 2007. The Setad was originally founded in the late 1980s to manage confiscated properties following the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

UNICEF India, Facebook launched a one-year joint initiative on ending violence against children

• UNICEF India and Facebook have launched a one-year joint initiative on ending violence against children with a special focus on online safety. The partnership seeks to create a safe environment for children online and offline. It aims to improve children’s resilience and capacity to access the digital world safely, increase awareness on violence against children and its impact on children, families, and communities, and increase the skills of communities and frontline workers to better prevent and respond to violence.
• The partnership includes a nationwide social media campaign and capacity building for 100,000 school children on online safety, digital literacy, and psychosocial support. Well-known actor and UNICEF India’s celebrity advocate on ending violence against children, Ayushmann Khurrana, gave his keynote message during the virtual event.

IT Ministry will host the first Internet Governance Forum in the country

• India will host the first Internet Governance Forum in the country, starting from October 20, this year. The theme of this year’s meeting is Inclusive Internet for Digital India. With this announcement, the Indian chapter of the United Nations-based forum namely the Internet Governance Forum has begun. It’s an Internet Governance policy discussion platform to bring representatives together from various groups, considering all at par to discuss public policy issues related to the Internet.
• National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology(MeitY) and the Chairman of the Coordination Committee, India Internet Governance Forum 2021 (IGF), announced the launch of India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF) -2021.

Reserve Bank of India appointed Olympic Gold medallist, Neeraj Chopra for banking fraud awareness campaign

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has started a public awareness campaign to warn people against digital banking frauds. For the new campaign, RBI has roped in Olympic Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra. The central bank has asked people to be a little cautious as doing so can protect them from a lot of troubles. A little caution takes care of a lot of trouble.
• The campaign sees Chopra urging users to not divulge details like OTP, CVV number and ATM PIN in front of anyone. The users should keep changing their online banking passwords and PIN numbers frequently and immediately block ATM card, credit card, debit card and/or prepaid card if one loses it. Block your card if stolen, lost or compromised.

 OBITUARY

Commodore Kasargod Patnashetti Gopal Rao passed away

• Commodore Kasargod Patnashetti Gopal Rao, a 1971 war hero and recipient of the Mahavir Chakra, passed away. Rao was a recipient of the Veer Seva Medal also. He played a key role in the war with Pakistan to liberate East Pakistan that is now Bangladesh.
• Rao led a small task group of the Western Fleet and launched an offensive off the coast of Karachi as part of Operation Cactus Lily. Notwithstanding the threat of air, surface and submarine attack, he led the group into enemy waters on the night of December 4, 1971.

Book “The Earthspinner” authored by award-winning novelist Anuradha Roy

• A book titled “The Earthspinner” authored by award-winning novelist Anuradha Roy. In the book, Roy delves into the “life and mind of Elango the potter, who must navigate complicated and impossible love, the dedication of a beloved pet, his own passion for creativity and a world turned upside down by the petty violence that characterises the present day”.
• This novel is about two people struggling to free themselves of such shackles to create a happier world. Roy’s earlier works include “An Atlas of Impossible Longing” and “The Folded Earth”.

 Book “How the Earth Got Its Beauty” authored by Sudha Murty

• A book titled “How the Earth Got Its Beauty” authored by Sudha Murty. The book was published by Penguin Random House imprint Puffin, has illustrations by Priyanka Pachpande. Sudha Murty is a prolific writer in English and Kannada, she has written novels, technical books, travelogues, collections of short stories and non-fictional pieces, and four books for children. Her books have been translated into all the major Indian languages.
• Sudha Murty was the recipient of the R.K. Narayan Award for Literature and the Padma Shri in 2006, and the Attimabbe Award from the government of Karnataka for excellence in Kannada literature in 2011.

Reserve Bank of India hikes collateral-free loans to Self Help Groups

• The Reserve Bank of India has raised the limit for collateral-free loans to Self-Help Groups (SHG) under the DAY-NRLM (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission) from Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 20 Lakhs. The DAY-NRLM is the flagship program of Govt. of India for promoting poverty reduction through building strong institutions for the poor, particularly women, and enabling these institutions to access a range of financial services and livelihoods.
• For loans to SHGs up to Rs 10 lakh, no collateral and no margin will be charged. No lien should be marked against the savings bank account of SHGs and no deposits should be insisted upon while sanctioning loans.
• For loans to SHGs above Rs 10 lakh and up to Rs 20 lakh, no collateral should be charged and no lien should be marked against the savings bank account of SHGs. However, the entire loan (irrespective of the loan outstanding, even if it subsequently goes below Rs 10 lakh) would be eligible for coverage under Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units (CGFMU).”

Reserve Bank of India will penalise banks if ATMs run out of cash from October 1

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the launch of the ‘Scheme of Penalty for non-replenishment of ATMs’, as per which it will impose monetary penalties on ATMs/WLAs that run out of cash. Concerned over the inconvenience caused to the public due to the non-availability of cash in ATMs, the Reserve Bank has decided to penalise banks for failure to timely replenish currency notes in such machines. The Scheme of Penalty for non-replenishment of ATMs has been formulated to ensure that sufficient cash is available to the public through ATMs.
• The Scheme shall be effective from October 01, 2021. Therefore, banks/ WLAOs should put in place a robust system for monitoring the availability of cash in ATMs and ensure timely replenishment to avoid cash-outs.
• Cash-out at any ATM of more than ten hours in a month will attract a flat penalty of ₹ 10,000/- per ATM. In the case of White Label ATMs (WLAs), the penalty would be charged to the bank which is meeting the cash requirement of that particular WLA. The bank, may, at its discretion, recover the penalty from the WLA operator.

Asian Development Bank approved USD 300 million additional loan for Maharashtra Rural Connectivity

• The Manila-based Asian Development Bank has approved a USD 300 million loans as additional financing for the ongoing Maharashtra Rural Connectivity Improvement Project for upgrading rural roads and connecting remote areas with markets. The additional financing will be used for improving an additional 1,100 rural roads and 230 bridges for a total length of 2,900 km in 34 districts of the state.
• The project was approved in August 2019, for improving and maintaining the condition and safety of 2,100 kilometres (km) of rural roads across Maharashtra.
