उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने नेपाल सीमा के पास के 4 गांवों को राजस्व गांव घोषित किया

• उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने जिले में नेपाल सीमा के पास स्थित चार गांवों को राजस्व गांव घोषित किया है। बहराइच के जिलाधिकारी दिनेश चंद्र सिंह ने कहा कि यूपी विधानसभा के आम चुनाव की घोषणा से पहले यह फैसला लिया गया। ये चार गांव जिले की मिहिनपुरवा तहसील में स्थित भवानीपुर, तेढिया, ढाकिया और बिछिया हैं। ये सभी गांव वंतांगिया गांव हैं।
• वंतांगिया समुदाय में वे लोग शामिल हैं जो औपनिवेशिक शासन के दौरान म्यांमार से पेड़ लगाने के लिए लाए गए थे। एक राजस्व गांव परिभाषित सीमाओं के साथ एक छोटा प्रशासनिक क्षेत्र है। एक राजस्व गांव में कई गांव हो सकते हैं। ग्राम प्रशासनिक अधिकारी राजस्व ग्राम का प्रधान अधिकारी होता है।

 विक्रांत भारत का पहला स्वदेशी विमानवाहक पोत, समुद्री परीक्षण शुरू

• स्वदेशी विमान वाहक (आईएसी) 1, जिसे भारतीय नौसेना के साथ सेवा में प्रवेश करने के बाद आईएनएस विक्रांत कहा जाएगा, ने अगस्त में अपने नियोजित शामिल होने से पहले उच्च समुद्र में जटिल युद्धाभ्यास करने के लिए रविवार को समुद्री परीक्षणों का एक और सेट शुरू किया।
• 40,000 टन वजनी विमानवाहक पोत, भारत में बनने वाला सबसे बड़ा और सबसे जटिल युद्धपोत, ने अगस्त में पांच दिवसीय पहली समुद्री यात्रा सफलतापूर्वक पूरी की और अक्टूबर में 10-दिवसीय समुद्री परीक्षण किया।

भरत सुब्रमण्यम बने भारत के 73वें शतरंज ग्रांडमास्टर

• चौदह वर्षीय भरत सुब्रमण्यम रविवार को इटली में एक कार्यक्रम में तीसरे और अंतिम जीएम मानदंड हासिल करते हुए भारत के 73वें शतरंज ग्रैंडमास्टर बने।
• चेन्नई के इस खिलाड़ी ने चार अन्य के साथ नौ राउंड से 6.5 अंक हासिल किए और कैटोलिका में आयोजित प्रतियोगिता में कुल मिलाकर सातवें स्थान पर रहे।
• उन्होंने यहां अपना तीसरा जीएम मानदंड प्राप्त किया और अपेक्षित 2,500 (एलो) अंक को भी छुआ।
• साथी भारतीय खिलाड़ी एम आर ललित बाबू सात अंकों के साथ टूर्नामेंट में विजेता बनकर उभरे, उन्होंने शीर्ष वरीयता प्राप्त एंटोन कोरोबोव (यूक्रेन) सहित तीन अन्य लोगों के साथ बराबरी करने के बाद बेहतर टाई-ब्रेक स्कोर के आधार पर खिताब जीता।
• भरत कोरोबोव और ललित बाबू के खिलाफ दो गेम हारते हुए छह जीत और एक ड्रॉ के साथ समाप्त हुआ।

 नियुक्ति एवं इस्तीफे

आईबीबीआई प्रमुख के रूप में सैनी का कार्यकाल बढ़ा

• भारत सरकार ने नवरंग सैनी के कार्यकाल को इन्सॉल्वेंसी एंड बैंकरप्सी बोर्ड ऑफ इंडिया (IBBI) के अंतरिम अध्यक्ष के रूप में तीन और महीनों के लिए 05 मार्च, 2022 तक बढ़ा दिया है। श्री सैनी, जो आईबीबीआई के पूर्णकालिक सदस्य हैं, को अक्टूबर 2021 में तीन महीने के लिए 13 जनवरी, 2022 तक अपने मौजूदा कर्तव्यों के अलावा अध्यक्ष का अतिरिक्त प्रभार सौंपा गया था। पूर्णकालिक अध्यक्ष का पद एम.एस. साहू 30 सितंबर, 2021 को पांच वर्ष का कार्यकाल पूरा करने के बाद सेवानिवृत्त हुए।

आरबीआई के पूर्व गवर्नर उर्जित पटेल को एआईआईबी का उपाध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) के पूर्व गवर्नर उर्जित पटेल को बीजिंग स्थित बहुपक्षीय विकास बैंक, एशियन इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर इन्वेस्टमेंट बैंक (AIIB) का उपाध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है।
• वह निवर्तमान उपराष्ट्रपति डी जे पांडियन का स्थान लेंगे, जो दक्षिण एशिया, प्रशांत द्वीप समूह और दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया में एआईआईबी के संप्रभु और गैर-संप्रभु ऋण के प्रभारी हैं।

विश्व हिंदी दिवस 2022: 10 जनवरी

• विश्व स्तर पर भाषा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 2006 से 10 जनवरी को विश्व हिंदी दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह दिन पहले विश्व हिंदी सम्मेलन की वर्षगांठ का प्रतीक है जिसका उद्घाटन 10 जनवरी, 1975 को तत्कालीन प्रधान मंत्री इंदिरा गांधी द्वारा किया गया था। हालाँकि, पहले विश्व हिंदी दिवस का जश्न 10 जनवरी 2006 को पूर्व प्रधान मंत्री डॉ मनमोहन सिंह द्वारा शुरू किया गया था।
• भाषा को इसका नाम फारसी शब्द 'हिंद' से मिला है जिसका अर्थ है 'सिंधु की भूमि'। भाषा भारत, त्रिनिदाद, नेपाल, गुयाना, मॉरीशस और अन्य देशों में बोली जाती है।

 26 दिसंबर को 'वीर बाल दिवस' के रूप में मनाया जाएगा

• भारत के प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने घोषणा की है कि वर्ष 2022 से 26 दिसंबर को प्रतिवर्ष 'वीर बाल दिवस' के रूप में मनाया जाएगा। इस दिन को 4 साहिबजादों (गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी के चार पुत्र) के साहस को श्रद्धांजलि के रूप में मनाया जाएगा, जिन्होंने 17 वीं शताब्दी में शहादत प्राप्त की थी। यह घोषणा 09 जनवरी, 2022 को श्री गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी के प्रकाश पर्व या सिखों के 10वें गुरु और खालसा समुदाय के संस्थापक की जयंती के अवसर पर की गई थी।
• 26 दिसंबर वह दिन है जिस दिन साहिबज़ादा जोरावर सिंह जी और साहिबज़ादा फ़तेह सिंह जी (साहिबज़ादे की छोटी जोड़ी) ने 6 और 9 वर्ष की छोटी उम्र में एक दीवार में ज़िंदा सील करके शहादत प्राप्त की थी। साहिबजादा अजीत सिंह जी और साहिबजादा जुझार सिंह जी (साहिबजादे की पुरानी जोड़ी) ने 18 और 14 वर्ष की छोटी उम्र में चमकौर साहिब में दुश्मन से लड़ते हुए 21 दिसंबर, 1705 को शहादत प्राप्त की।

विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार 1.466 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर घटकर 633.614 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) के नवीनतम आंकड़ों के अनुसार, भारत का विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार 2021 के अंतिम सप्ताह में 1.466 बिलियन डॉलर घटकर 633.614 बिलियन डॉलर हो गया, जो 31 दिसंबर, 2021 को समाप्त हुआ। सोने का भंडार 14 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर बढ़कर 39.405 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर हो गया। 03 सितंबर, 2021 को समाप्त सप्ताह में भारत का विदेशी मुद्रा 642.453 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर के उच्चतम स्तर को छू गया। विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार में विदेशी मुद्रा संपत्ति (एफसीए), स्वर्ण भंडार, एसडीआर और आईएमएफ के साथ देश की आरक्षित स्थिति शामिल है।

वित्त वर्ष 2012 में वास्तविक सकल घरेलू उत्पाद लगभग 9.5% की दर से बढ़ेगा: SBI Ecowrap

• भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (SBI) की आर्थिक अनुसंधान टीम ने अपनी Ecowrap रिपोर्ट जारी की। रिपोर्ट में, एसबीआई के शोधकर्ताओं ने वर्ष-दर-वर्ष (YoY) पर 2021-22 (FY22) में भारत की वास्तविक जीडीपी को लगभग 9.5 प्रतिशत तक संशोधित किया है। रिपोर्ट का मानना है कि शायद बढ़ते कोविड संक्रमण गतिशीलता को प्रभावित कर सकते हैं, फिर भी आर्थिक गतिविधियों के ज्यादा प्रभावित होने की उम्मीद नहीं है।

 रिलायंस न्यूयॉर्क के मंदारिन ओरिएंटल होटल का नियंत्रण $98 मिलियन में खरीदेगी

• रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेड (RIL) ने मिडटाउन मैनहट्टन में एक प्रीमियम लक्जरी होटल, मैंडरिन ओरिएंटल न्यूयॉर्क में 73.37 प्रतिशत की नियंत्रण हिस्सेदारी के अधिग्रहण की घोषणा की है। आरआईएल ने अपनी पूर्ण स्वामित्व वाली शाखा रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रियल इन्वेस्टमेंट्स एंड होल्डिंग्स लिमिटेड के माध्यम से केमैन आइलैंड्स स्थित कोलंबस सेंटर कॉरपोरेशन (केमैन) की पूरी शेयर पूंजी का लगभग $98.15 मिलियन (735 करोड़ रुपये) के इक्विटी मूल्य के लिए अधिग्रहण किया है।
• केमैन मैंडरिन ओरिएंटल होटल की मूल कंपनी है। होटल में 73.37 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी पर इसका अप्रत्यक्ष स्वामित्व था। पूरे सौदे का मूल्य लगभग 270 डॉलर तक ले जाने के लिए रिलायंस $ 115 मिलियन से अधिक के होटल के कर्ज को भी अपने ऊपर लेगा। लेनदेन मार्च 2022 के अंत तक बंद होने का अनुमान है।

Uttar Pradesh government declares 4 villages near Nepal border as revenue villages

• The Uttar Pradesh government declared four villages located near the Nepal border in the district as revenue villages. District Magistrate of Bahraich, Dinesh Chandra Singh said the decision was taken before the announcement of the general elections to the UP Legislative Assembly. These four villages are Bhavanipur, Tedhia, Dhakia and Bichhia located in Mihinpurwa tehsil of the district. All these villages are Vantangiya villages.
• The Vantangiya’ community comprises people brought from Myanmar during the colonial rule to plant trees. A revenue village is a small administrative region with defined borders. One revenue village may contain many hamlets. A village administrative officer is the head officer of a revenue village.

 Vikrant India's 1st indigenous aircraft carrier, begin sea trials

• The Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) 1, which will be called INS Vikrant once it enters service with the Indian Navy, began another set of sea trials on Sunday to carry out complex manoeuvres in high seas ahead of its planned induction in August.
• The 40,000-tonne aircraft carrier, the largest and most complex warship to be built in India, successfully completed a five-day maiden sea voyage in August and underwent 10-day sea trials in October.

Bharath Subramaniyam becomes India's 73rd chess GM

• Fourteen-year old Bharath Subramaniyam on Sunday became India's 73rd chess Grandmaster, securing the third and final GM norm at an event in Italy.
• The Chennai-based player scored 6.5 points from nine rounds along with four others to finish seventh overall in the event held at Cattolica.
• He obtained his third GM norm here and also touched the requisite 2,500 (Elo) mark.
• Fellow Indian player M R Lalith Babu emerged winner in the tournament with seven points, winning the title on the basis of a better tie-break score after he tied with three others including top-seed Anton Korobov (Ukraine).
• Bharath finished with six wins and one draw while losing two games - against Korobov and Lalith Babu.

 APPOINTMENT & RESIGNATION

Saini’s term as IBBI chief extended

• The Government of India has extended the tenure of Navrang Saini as interim Chairperson of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) for three more months till March 05, 2022. Mr. Saini, who is a Whole Time Member of IBBI, was assigned additional charge of Chairperson in addition to his existing duties in October 2021 for three months till January 13, 2022. The post of full-time Chairperson has been lying vacant after M.S. Sahoo retired upon completing a five-year tenure on September 30, 2021.

 Ex-RBI Governor Urjit Patel appointed Vice President of AIIB

• Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Urjit Patel has been appointed as a vice-president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), a Beijing based multilateral development bank.
• He will succeed outgoing Vice President D J Pandian, who is in charge of sovereign and non-sovereign lending of the AIIB in South Asia, the Pacific Islands and South-East Asia.

World Hindi Day 2022: 10th January

• World Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 since 2006 to promote the language at the global stage. The day marks the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference which was inaugurated on January 10, 1975, by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi. However, the celebration of first World Hindi Day was commenced on 10 January 2006 by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
• The language got its name from the Persian term ‘Hind’ which means ‘the land of Indus’. The language is spoken in India, Trinidad, Nepal, Guyana, Mauritius and other countries.

 December 26 to be observed as 'Veer Baal Diwas'

• Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has declared that starting from the year 2022, December 26 will be observed as ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ every year. The day will be commemorated as a tribute to the courage of the 4 Sahibzades (the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji), who attained martyrdom in the 17th century. The announcement was made by PM Modi on January 09, 2022, on the occasion of the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, or the birth anniversary of the 10th guru of Sikhs and the founder of the Khalsa community.
• 26 December marks the day on which Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji (younger pair of Sahibzade) attained martyrdom after being sealed alive in a wall, at the tender age of 6 and 9 years. Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Ji (older pair of Sahibzade) attained martyrdom on December 21, 1705, fighting the enemy in battle at Chamkaur Sahib at the young age of 18 and 14 years.

 BANKING AND ECONOMIC

Forex reserves down by USD 1.466 bn to USD 633.614 bn

• As per the latest Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data, the foreign currency reserves of India declined by $1.466 billion to $633.614 billion, in the last week of 2021, which ended December 31, 2021. Gold reserves rose by USD 14 million to USD 39.405 billion. India’s forex touched a lifetime high of USD 642.453 billion in the week ended September 03, 2021. Forex reserves include foreign currency assets (FCAs), gold reserves, SDRs and the country’s reserve position with the IMF.

 Real GDP to grow at around 9.5% in FY22: SBI Ecowrap

• The economic research team of the State Bank of India (SBI) released its Ecowrap report. In the report, SBI researchers have revised upwards the real GDP of India to around 9.5 per cent in 2021-22 (FY22) on a year-on-year (YoY). The report believes that though rising Covid infections could impact mobility, yet economic activity is not expected to get much affected.

Reliance to buy control of New York's Mandarin Oriental hotel for $98 mn

• Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has announced the acquisition of a controlling stake of 73.37% in Mandarin Oriental New York, a premium luxury hotel in midtown Manhattan. RIL through its wholly-owned arm Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Limited has acquired the entire share capital of Cayman Islands-based Columbus Centre Corporation (Cayman), for an equity value of approximately $98.15 million (Rs 735 crore).
• Cayman is the parent company of Mandarin Oriental hotel. It had indirect ownership of a 73.37 per cent stake in the hotel. Reliance will also take over the hotel’s debt in excess of $115 million to take the entire deal value to around $270. The transaction is anticipated to close by the end of March 2022.
