भारत पहली बार 2023 में जी-20 शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी करेगा

• भारत 1 दिसंबर, 2022 से G20 की अध्यक्षता करेगा और अपनी अध्यक्षता में 2023 में पहली बार G20 नेताओं के शिखर सम्मेलन का आयोजन करेगा।
• केंद्रीय वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल को 2023 (18वें संस्करण) में G20 के लिए भारत का शेरपा नियुक्त किया गया है। शेरपा एक राजनयिक होता है जो शिखर सम्मेलन से पहले प्रारंभिक कार्य की देख-रेख करता है। G20 समिट का 2021 संस्करण रोम, इटली में आयोजित किया जाएगा। 2022 की G20 बैठक इंडोनेशिया के बाली में आयोजित की जाएगी।

गुजरात ने ग्रामीण विकास के लिए 'वतन प्रेम योजना' शुरू की

• गुजरात सरकार ने दिसंबर 2022 तक अनिवासी गुजरातियों के साथ संयुक्त रूप से 1,000 करोड़ रुपये की सार्वजनिक कल्याण परियोजनाओं को शुरू करने की योजना तैयार करने की घोषणा की है। यह परियोजनाएं राज्य सरकार की 'वतन प्रेम योजना' के तहत होंगी। यह योजना गुजरात में सार्वजनिक और राज्य के योगदान के माध्यम से ग्रामीण विकास पर ध्यान केंद्रित करते हुए शुरू की गई थी।
• राज्य सरकार विभिन्न ग्रामीण विकास परियोजनाओं और गतिविधियों को शुरू करेगी।
• यह योजना राज्य सरकार के 40% योगदान और आम जनता के 60% योगदान के साथ शुरू की जाएगी।
• राज्य सरकार ने अनिवासी गुजरातियों को आमंत्रित किया है और अनिवासी भारतीयों को भी योगदान के लिए आमंत्रित किया गया है।

गिनीज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड्स ने रोनाल्डो को अंतरराष्ट्रीय फुटबॉल में एक व्यक्ति द्वारा सर्वाधिक गोल करने के लिए मान्यता दी

• पुर्तगाल के कप्तान क्रिस्टियानो रोनाल्डो ने पुरुषों के अंतरराष्ट्रीय फुटबॉल में सर्वाधिक गोल करने का विश्व रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिया है। रोनाल्डो ने विश्व कप क्वालीफायर में आयरलैंड के खिलाफ ब्रेस बनाकर ईरानी स्ट्राइकर अली डेई के 109 अंतरराष्ट्रीय गोल के लंबे समय तक रिकॉर्ड को तोड़ दिया है। 36 वर्ष की उम्र में रोनाल्डो अब 111 गोल के साथ सबसे अधिक अंतरराष्ट्रीय गोल करने का गिनीज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड धारक हैं।
• गिनीज वर्ल्ड बुक ऑफ रिकॉर्ड्स ने क्रिस्टियानो रोनाल्डो को एक व्यक्ति (पुरुष) द्वारा बनाए गए अंतरराष्ट्रीय फुटबॉल (सॉकर) मैचों में सबसे अधिक गोल करने के लिए विश्व रिकॉर्ड तोड़ने वाले के रूप में मान्यता दी है। रोनाल्डो ने अपने मूल पुर्तगाल के लिए 2003 और 2021 के बीच 18 वर्ष की अवधि में लगातार गोल करने के लक्ष्य हासिल किए।

आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार ने रजनीश कुमार को आर्थिक सलाहकार नियुक्त किया

• आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार ने रजनीश कुमार को अपना नया आर्थिक सलाहकार नियुक्त किया है। एसबीआई के एक पूर्व अध्यक्ष, रजनीश कुमार का कैबिनेट रैंक के पद पर कार्यकाल दो वर्ष के लिए है। रजनीश कुमार, जो अक्टूबर 2020 में एसबीआई के अध्यक्ष के रूप में सेवानिवृत्त हुए थे, वर्तमान में हांगकांग और शंघाई बैंकिंग कॉर्पोरेशन में एक स्वतंत्र गैर-कार्यकारी निदेशक हैं। वह 1980 में एक परिवीक्षाधीन अधिकारी के रूप में एसबीआई में शामिल हुए।

केंद्र सरकार ने जीएस पन्नू को आईटीएटी का कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया

• केंद्र सरकार ने जी एस पन्नू को आयकर अपीलीय न्यायाधिकरण का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है। जीएस पन्नू वर्तमान में आईटीएटी, नई दिल्ली के उपाध्यक्ष हैं और 6 सितंबर, 2021 से नियमित अध्यक्ष की नियुक्ति तक आईटीएटी के कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष रहेंगे।
• श्री पन्नू का जन्म 01 अगस्त 1962 को होशियारपुर (पंजाब) में हुआ था, वे सीए हैं और 14 सितंबर 2000 को सरकारी सेवा में शामिल हुए। वर्तमान में आईटीएटी, नई दिल्ली में उपाध्यक्ष के रूप में तैनात हैं। ITAT में शामिल होने से पहले, 1986-2000 से नई दिल्ली में चार्टर्ड एकाउंटेंट के रूप में अभ्यास किया।

विश्व आत्महत्या रोकथाम दिवस 2021: 10 सितंबर

• इंटरनेशनल एसोसिएशन फॉर सुसाइड प्रिवेंशन (IASP) द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष 10 सितंबर को World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) यानि विश्‍व भर में आत्महत्याओं रोकने का दिन मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को मनाए जाने का उद्देश्य विश्‍व भर में आत्महत्या को रोकने के लिए जागरूकता बढ़ाना है। वर्ष 2021 विश्व आत्महत्या रोकथाम दिवस का विषय है “Creating hope through action”।
• इंटरनेशनल एसोसिएशन फॉर सुसाइड प्रिवेंशन (IASP) विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) और वर्ल्ड फेडरेशन फॉर मेंटल हेल्थ (WFMH) के साथ मिलकर 2003 से लगातार विश्‍व भर में विश्व आत्महत्या रोकथाम दिवस के विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करता है।

वी. वैद्यनाथन को आईडीएफसी फर्स्ट बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ के रूप में फिर से नियुक्त किया गया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने वी. वैद्यनाथन की आईडीएफसी फर्स्ट बैंक के प्रबंध निदेशक और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी ('एमडी और सीईओ') के रूप में फिर से नियुक्ति के लिए अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है।
• वैद्यनाथन को तीन वर्ष की और अवधि के लिए नियुक्त किया गया है, जो 19 दिसंबर, 2021 से प्रभावी होगा। उन्होंने आईडीएफसी बैंक और कैपिटल फर्स्ट के विलय के बाद पहली बार दिसंबर 2018 में आईडीएफसी फर्स्ट बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला।

एलआईसी के आईपीओ के प्रबंधन के लिए सरकार ने 10 मर्चेंट बैंकरों की नियुक्ति की

• भारत सरकार ने भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम के सार्वजनिक प्रस्ताव (IPO) के प्रबंधन के लिए 10 मर्चेंट बैंकरों की नियुक्ति की है। LIC का IPO 2022 की जनवरी-मार्च तिमाही में लॉन्च होने की उम्मीद है। आईपीओ के मामले में मर्चेंट बैंकरों की भूमिका इश्यू मैनेजमेंट, प्रमोशनल एक्टिविटीज, क्रेडिट सिंडिकेशन, प्रोजेक्ट काउंसलिंग और पोर्टफोलियो मैनेजमेंट आदि की रहेगी।

आरबीआई ने यूको बैंक से हटाई पाबंदियां, 4 वर्ष बाद हटाई गई कर्ज देने की पाबंदी

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के ऋणदाता यूको बैंक को वित्तीय और क्रेडिट प्रोफाइल में सुधार के चलते त्वरित सुधारात्मक कार्रवाई ढांचे से हटा दिया है। यह निर्णय बैंक को ऋण देने, विशेष रूप से निगमों को और निर्धारित मानदंडों के अधीन नेटवर्क को विकसित करने के लिए अधिक स्वतंत्रता देता है। इससे पहले RBI ने उच्च नेट-परफॉर्मिंग एसेट्स और नकारात्मक रिटर्न ऑन एसेट्स के कारण मई 2017 में कोलकाता स्थित ऋणदाता को PCA में डाल दिया था।
• यूको बैंक के PCA से बाहर निकलने के बाद, दो बैंक - इंडियन ओवरसीज बैंक और सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया - पीसीए के अंतर्गत रखे गए हैं। केंद्रीय बैंक उन बैंकों पर लगाम लगाने के लिए पीसीए ढांचे का उपयोग करता है जिन्होंने खराब ऋण और पूंजी पर्याप्तता में कुछ नियामक सीमाओं का उल्लंघन किया है। पीसीए उच्च जोखिम वाले उधार पर अंकुश लगाता है, प्रावधानों पर अधिक धन को अलग करता है और प्रबंधन वेतन पर प्रतिबंध लगाता है।

NATIONAL

India will host the G-20 summit in 2023 for the first time

• India will hold the G20 presidency from December 1, 2022, and will convene the G20 leaders’ summit in 2023 for the first time.
• Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Minister has been appointed as India’s Sherpa for the G20 in 2023 (18th edition). A sherpa is a diplomat who undertakes preparatory work prior to a summit conference. The 2021 edition of the G20 meet will be held in Rome, Italy. The 2022 G20 meet will be held in Bali, Indonesia.

Gujarat rolls out ‘Vatan Prem Yojana’ for rural development

• The Government of Gujarat announced, that it plans on undertaking public welfare projects worth Rs. 1,000 crores jointly with non-resident Gujaratis by December 2022. The projects will be under the state government’s ‘Vatan Prem Yojana’. The Yojana was launched in Gujarat focusing on rural development through public and state contributions.
• The state government will undertake various rural development projects and activities.
• This scheme will be undertaken with 40% state government’s contribution and 60% contribution from the general public.
• The state government has invited Non-Resident Gujaratis and NRIs are also invited to contribute.

Guinness World Records recognise Ronaldo for most goals scored in international football by an individual

• Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the world record for most goals scored in men’s international football. Ronaldo surpassed Iranian striker Ali Daei’s long-held record of 109 international goals by scoring a brace against Ireland in a World Cup Qualifier. Ronaldo at 36 years of age is now a Guinness world record holder of most international goals of all time with 111 goals.
• The Guinness world book of records has recognised Cristiano Ronaldo as a world record breaker for the most goals scored in international football (soccer) matches scored by an individual (male). Ronaldo achieved the feat scoring goals for his native Portugal between 2003 and 2021 proactively over a span of 18 years with a career still going strong as he looks to overcome yet another new challenge after his move away from Turin with a year left on his contract with the Bianconeri.

Andhra Pradesh Government appointed Rajnish Kumar as economic advisor

• The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed Rajnish Kumar as its economic advisor. A former SBI chairman, Rajnish Kumar’s tenure in the cabinet rank position is for two years. Rajnish Kumar who had retired as SBI chairman in October 2020, is an independent non-executive director at the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. He joined SBI as a Probationary officer in 1980.
• The appointment comes amid the growing concerns over the state’s financial situation which has been badly hit by the Covid pandemic, even as the opposition has been critical over the sops and freebies being distributed by the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led state government. Rajnish Kumar’s appointment is expected to help the state government steer through the financially tough juncture.

Neeraj Chopra appointed as the brand ambassador of Tata AIA Life names

• Tata AIA Life Insurance has announced the signing of a multi-year brand partnership with Indian athlete and Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra, as its brand ambassador. Central Government  appointed G.S Pannu as Officiating ITAT President

• The Central Government has appointed G.S. Pannu as President of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal. G. S. Pannu is presently a Vice-President, ITAT, New Delhi and will be Officiating President of ITAT with effect from September 6, 2021, till the appointment of regular President.
• Mr. Pannu was born on 01 Aug 1962 at Hoshiarpur (Punjab), he is a C.A and joined Government Service 14 September 2000. Presently posted as Vice-President at ITAT, New Delhi. Before joining ITAT, practised as a Chartered Accountant at New Delhi from 1986-2000.

World Suicide Prevention Day 2021: 10 September

• International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) observes World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) on 10 September every year. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness around the globe that suicide can be prevented. The theme for the 2021 World Suicide Prevention Day is “Creating hope through action”.
• The International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) collaborates with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) to host World Suicide Prevention Day with various activities around the world since 2003.

Vaidyanathan is re-appointment of IDFC FIRST Bank as MD & CEO

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted its approval for the re-appointment of V. Vaidyanathan as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (‘MD & CEO’) of the IDFC First Bank.
• Vaidyanathan has been appointed for a further period of three years, which will be effective from December 19, 2021. He first took charge as the MD & CEO of IDFC FIRST Bank in December 2018, after the merger of IDFC Bank and Capital First.

Government appoints 10 merchant bankers to manage IPO of LIC

• The government of India has appointed 10 merchant bankers for managing the Initial Public Offering of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The IPO of LIC is likely to be launched in the January-March quarter of 2022. The role of merchant bankers in the case of IPO is of Issue management, Promotional activities, Credit syndication, Project counselling, and Portfolio management, etc.

RBI removes restrictions on UCO Bank, lending curbs removed after 4 years

• Reserve Bank of India has taken public sector lender UCO Bank out of the Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework on improvement in financial and credit profile. This decision gives the bank more freedom for lending, especially to corporations and grow the network, subject to prescribed norms. The Kolkata-based lender was placed under PCA in May 2017 on account of high Net Net-Performing Assets (NPAs) and negative Return on Assets (RoAs).
• Following UCO Bank’s exit, two banks — Indian Overseas Bank and Central Bank of India — remain under PCA. The central bank uses the PCA framework to rein in banks that have breached certain regulatory thresholds in bad loans and capital adequacy. PCA entails curbs on high-risk lending, setting aside more money on provisions and restrictions on management salary.
