EL साल्वाडोर बिटकॉइन को कानूनी निविदा के रूप में अपनाने वाला पहला देश बना

• El Salvador बिटकॉइन को लीगल टेंडर का दर्जा देने वाला विश्‍व का पहला देश बन गया है। बिटकॉइन का लीगल टेंडर के रूप में प्रयोग करने पर 90 दिनों में कानून बन जाएगा।
• El Salvador की अर्थव्यवस्था अधिकतर प्रेषण (remittances) पर निर्भर करती है। इसके बाद देश के बाहर काम कर रहे लोग बिटकॉइन में पैसा अपने घर भेज सकते हैं। बिटकॉइन का प्रयोग पूरी तरह से वैकल्पिक होगा। यह देश के अंदर वित्तीय समावेशन (financial inclusion), निवेश, पर्यटन, नवाचार (innovation) और आर्थिक विकास लाएगा।

लापता व्यक्तियों की पहचान के लिए इंटरपोल ने "I-Familia" लॉन्च किया

• इंटरपोल ने पारिवारिक DNA के माध्यम से लापता व्यक्तियों की पहचान करने और सदस्य देशों में उदासीन मामलों को सुलझाने में पुलिस की मदद करने के लिए "I-Familia" नामक एक नया वैश्विक डेटाबेस लॉन्च किया है। इंटरपोल ने इसे इस महीने एक महत्वपूर्ण डेटाबेस बताते हुए आधिकारिक रूप से लॉन्च किया, अपने बयान में कहा कि उसने अत्याधुनिक वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान को लागू किया और विश्‍व भर में लापता व्यक्तियों या अज्ञात मानव अवशेषों की पहचान करने के लिए रिश्तेदारों के DNA का इस्तेमाल किया।
• I-Familia पारिवारिक DNA के माध्यम से लापता व्यक्तियों की पहचान करने के लिए लॉन्च किया गया एक वैश्विक डेटाबेस है। यह पुलिस को सदस्य देशों में मामलों को सुलझाने में मदद करेगा।

अंडमान सागर में इंडो-थाई कॉर्पेट शुरू

• भारत-थाईलैंड समन्वित गश्ती (इंडो-थाई कॉर्पेट) के 31वें संस्करण की शुरुआत 09 जून, 2021 को अंडमान सागर में हुई। भारतीय नौसेना और रॉयल थाई नौसेना के बीच तीन दिवसीय समन्वित गश्त 09 से 11 जून 2021 तक आयोजित की जा रही है। भारतीय पक्ष से, एक स्वदेश निर्मित नौसेना अपतटीय गश्ती पोत, भारतीय नौसेना जहाज (INS) सरयू, भाग ले रहा है और थाईलैंड नौसेना, एचटीएमएस क्राबी दोनों नौसेनाओं के डोर्नियर मैरीटाइम पेट्रोल विमान के साथ कोरपैट में भाग ले रही है।
• CORPAT अभ्यास दोनों नौसेनाओं के बीच 2005 से द्वि-वार्षिक रूप से उनकी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय समुद्री सीमा रेखा (IMBL) के साथ आयोजित किया जा रहा है।
• कॉर्पेट नौसेनाओं के बीच समझ और अंतरसंचालनीयता का निर्माण करता है और अवैध गैर-रिपोर्टेड अनियमित (आईयूयू) मछली पकड़ने, मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी, समुद्री आतंकवाद, सशस्त्र डकैती और समुद्री डकैती जैसी गैरकानूनी गतिविधियों को रोकने और दबाने के लिए उपाय विकसित करता है।

एनीमिया मुक्त भारत सूचकांक : हिमाचल तीसरे स्थान पर

• हिमाचल प्रदेश एनीमिया मुक्त भारत इंडेक्स 2020-21 की राष्ट्रीय रैंकिंग में 57.1 के स्कोर के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर पहुंच गया है। वर्ष 2018-19 में हिमाचल प्रदेश 18वें स्थान पर था, लेकिन सरकार और क्षेत्र के पदाधिकारियों के लगातार प्रयासों से राज्य तीसरा स्थान हासिल करने में सफल रहा। मध्य प्रदेश 64.1 के स्कोर के साथ पहले स्थान पर है और उसके बाद ओडिशा 59.3 के स्कोर के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर है। तीन साल की छोटी अवधि में मृदा-संचारित कृमि की व्यापकता 29% से घटकर 0.3% हो गई थी।
• लिंग, आयु और भूगोल के बावजूद देश भर में उच्च प्रसार के साथ एनीमिया एक प्रमुख सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य मुद्दा बना हुआ है।

GIFT सिटी में स्थापित होगा भारत का पहला अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुद्री समूह

• गुजरात मैरीटाइम बोर्ड (GMB) गिफ्ट सिटी में देश का पहला अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुद्री सेवा क्लस्टर स्थापित करेगा। समुद्री क्लस्टर को एक समर्पित पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा जिसमें बंदरगाह, शिपिंग, रसद सेवा प्रदाता और सरकारी नियामक शामिल हैं, जो सभी एक ही भौगोलिक क्षेत्र - गिफ्ट सिटी में मौजूद हैं। गिफ्ट सिटी भारत की पहली परिचालन स्मार्ट सिटी और अंतरराष्ट्रीय वित्तीय सेवाएं है।
• यह भारत में अपनी तरह का पहला वाणिज्यिक समुद्री सेवा समूह होगा, जिसकी अवधारणा समुद्री क्षेत्र में भारत की प्रतिस्पर्धात्मकता और आत्मनिर्भरता को बढ़ाने और संपूर्ण समुद्री बिरादरी के लिए वन-स्टॉप समाधान प्रदान करने के लिए की गई है।

हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री ने करनाल में 'ऑक्सी वैन' बनाने की घोषणा की

• हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने करनाल जिले में 80 एकड़ 'ऑक्सी-वन (Oxi-van)' (एक जंगल) बनाने की घोषणा की। 5 जून, 2021 को विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस के अवसर पर इसकी घोषणा की गई थी। ऑक्सी-वन में 10 प्रकार के वन शामिल होंगे। इस अवसर पर वृक्षों के महत्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए और संवर्धन, संरक्षण, वृक्षारोपण को प्रोत्साहित करते हुए हरियाणा सरकार ने चार महत्वपूर्ण योजनाएं शुरू कीं:

प्राण वायु देवता पेंशन योजना:

• इस योजना के तहत 75 वर्ष से ऊपर के वृक्षों के रखरखाव के लिए प्राण वायु देवता के नाम पर 2500 रुपये की पेंशन राशि प्रदान की जाएगी। यह पेंशन हर साल वृद्धावस्था सम्मान पेंशन की तर्ज पर बढ़ाई जाएगी।

हरियाणा में पंचवटी वृक्षारोपण:

• इस पहल के तहत हरियाणा के गांवों में पंचवटी के नाम से वृक्षारोपण किया जाएगा। यह पेड़ों से प्राकृतिक ऑक्सीजन प्राप्त करने की प्रक्रिया को बढ़ावा देगा। पहल के तहत खाली जमीन पर एग्रोफोरेस्ट्री को भी बढ़ावा दिया जाएगा। इस प्रकार, यह ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में पंचायतों की आय में वृद्धि करेगा।

करनाल में ऑक्सी-वन:

• मुगल नहर, करनाल में वन विभाग की जमीन पर ऑक्सी फॉरेस्ट लॉन्च किया गया था। पंचवटी, बेल, आंवला, अशोक, बरगद और पीपल के पेड़ लगाए गए। इसे 80 एकड़ क्षेत्र में बनाया जाएगा।

पंचकूला में ऑक्सी-वन:

• यह पंचकूला के निवासियों को ताजा ऑक्सीजन प्राप्त करने के लिए, प्रकृति माँ के हरे फेफड़े बनाने के लिए एक सौ एकड़ के क्षेत्र में बीर घग्गर में स्थापित किया जाएगा। इस पहल के लिए एक करोड़ रुपये मंजूर किए गए हैं।

• भारतीय स्टार क्रिकेटर वीरेंद्र सहवाग ने 'CRICURU' नामक एक क्रिकेट कोचिंग पोर्टल लॉन्च किया है। CRICURU भारत की पहली AI-enabled कोचिंग वेबसाइट है जो युवा खिलाड़ियों को व्यक्तिगत रूप से सीखने का अनुभव प्रदान करती है। इसकी वेबसाइट है- www.cricuru.com.

एंटोनियो गुटेरेस का विश्व संगठन के प्रमुख के रूप में दूसरा पांच वर्ष का कार्यकाल

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद ने महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस की 1 जनवरी, 2022 से शुरू होने वाले विश्व संगठन के प्रमुख के रूप में दूसरे पांच साल के कार्यकाल के लिए सिफारिश की है।
• 15-राष्ट्र परिषद ने एक बंद बैठक आयोजित की जहां महासचिव के रूप में दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिए 193 सदस्यीय महासभा में गुटेरेस के नाम की सिफारिश करने वाले प्रस्ताव को सर्वसम्मति से अपनाया गया। पिछले महीने, भारत ने जनवरी 2022 से शुरू होने वाले दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिए विश्व निकाय के प्रमुख के रूप में अपनी उम्मीदवारी के लिए गुटेरेस को अपना समर्थन दिया था।

बंधन बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ बने सीएस घोष

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने चंद्रशेखर घोष को तीन साल की अवधि के लिए बंधन बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ के रूप में फिर से नियुक्त करने की मंजूरी दे दी है। उपरोक्त के रूप में पुनर्नियुक्ति बैंक की आगामी वार्षिक आम बैठक में शेयरधारकों के अनुमोदन के अधीन है।
• घोष, जो भारत में माइक्रोफाइनेंस के सबसे प्रमुख समर्थकों में से एक रहे हैं, ने 2001 में एक गैर-लाभकारी उद्यम के रूप में बंधन की स्थापना की, जो सतत आजीविका सृजन के माध्यम से वित्तीय समावेशन और महिला सशक्तिकरण के लिए खड़ा था। वह NBFC-MFI और अंत में सार्वभौमिक बैंक में इसके परिवर्तन में सबसे आगे थे।

क्यूएस वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2022 जारी

• लंदन स्थित क्वाक्वेरेली साइमंड्स (QS) ने QS वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2022 जारी की है जो विभिन्न मानकों पर विश्‍व भर के विश्वविद्यालयों की तुलना और रैंक करती है। 09 जून, 2021 को जारी QS वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2022 में आठ भारतीय विश्वविद्यालयों को सर्वश्रेष्ठ 400 वैश्विक विश्वविद्यालयों में जगह दी गई है। हालांकि, केवल तीन विश्वविद्यालय भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (IIT) बॉम्बे, IIT-दिल्ली और IISc बैंगलोर शीर्ष 200 में शामिल यूनिवर्सिटी है।
• IIT- बॉम्बे को 177 रैंक के साथ भारत के सर्वश्रेष्ठ विश्वविद्यालय के रूप में स्थान दिया गया है। इसके बाद IIT-दिल्ली (185) और IISc (I86) बैंगलोर का स्थान है।
• भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान (IISc), बेंगलुरु को "विश्‍व के शीर्ष अनुसंधान विश्वविद्यालय" के रूप में भी चुना गया है, जो प्रति संकाय (CPF) संकेतक के लिए 100/100 का एक सही स्कोर प्राप्त करता है, जो अनुसंधान प्रभाव को मापता है।

El Salvador becomes first country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender

• El Salvador has become the first country in the world to grant legal tender status to bitcoin. The use of bitcoin as legal tender will become law in 90 days.
• El Salvador’s economy heavily relies on remittances and so those who are working abroad can send money back home in bitcoins. The use of bitcoin will be totally optional. It will bring financial inclusion, investment, tourism, innovation and economic development to the country.

Interpol launched "I-Familia" to identify missing persons

• Interpol has launched a new global database named “I-Familia” to identify missing persons through family DNA and help the police solve cold cases in member countries. Describing it as a groundbreaking database officially launched this month, the Interpol in a statement said it applied cutting-edge scientific research and used the DNA of relatives to identify missing persons or unidentified human remains around the world.
• I-Familia is a global database launched to identify missing persons through family DNA. It will help the police to solve cases in member countries.

Indo-Thai CORPAT Begins in Andaman Sea

• The 31st edition of the India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (Indo-Thai CORPAT) kicked off on June 09, 2021, in the Andaman Sea. The three-day coordinated patrol between the Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy is being conducted from 09 to 11 June 2021. From the Indian side, an indigenously built Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel, Indian Naval Ship (INS) Saryu, is participating and from Thailand Navy, HTMS Krabi is participating in CORPAT, along with Dornier Maritime Patrol Aircraft from both navies.
• The CORPAT exercise is being conducted between the two navies bi-annually since 2005, along their International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
• CORPAT builds up understanding and interoperability between navies and develops measures to prevent and suppress unlawful activities like Illegal Unreported Unregulated (IUU) fishing, drug trafficking, maritime terrorism, armed robbery and piracy.

Anemia Mukt Bharat Index : Himachal in third spot

• Himachal Pradesh has climbed to the third spot in the Anemia Mukt Bharat Index 2020-21 national ranking with a score of 57.1. Himachal Pradesh was at rank 18 in the year 2018-19, but with consistent efforts of the government and the field functionaries, the state was able to achieve the third spot. Madhya Pradesh is in the first position with a score of 64.1 followed by Odisha with a score of 59.3. The prevalence of soil-transmitted helminths had decreased from 29% to 0.3% in a short span of three years.
• Anemia remains a major public health issue with high prevalence across the country irrespective of gender, age and geography.

First International Maritime Cluster of India to come up at GIFT City

• Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) will set up the country's first international maritime services cluster at GIFT City. The maritime cluster will be developed as a dedicated ecosystem comprising ports, shipping, logistics services providers and government regulators, all present in the same geographic vicinity — GIFT City. GIFT City is India's first operational smart city and international financial services.
• This will be a first-of-its-kind commercial maritime services cluster in India, which has been conceptualised to enhance the competitiveness and self-sufficiency of India in the maritime sector and provide a one-stop solution for the entire maritime fraternity.

Haryana CM announced creating ‘Oxi-van’ in Karnal

• Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, announced to create of 80 acres of ‘Oxi-van’ (a forest) in the Karnal district. It was announced on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, 2021. Oxi-van will consist of 10 types of forests. On the occasion, highlighting the importance of trees and encouraging promotion, protection, planting of trees Haryana Government launched four important schemes:

Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme:

• Under this scheme, a pension amount of Rs 2500 will be provided in name of Pran Vayu Devta to maintain trees above 75 years. This pension would increase each year on the line of old age Samman pension.

Panchavati Plantation in Haryana:

• Under this initiative, the plantation will be done in name of Panchvati across the villages in Haryana. It will promote the process of getting natural oxygen from trees. Agroforestry will also be promoted on vacant land under the initiative. Thus, it will increase the income of Panchayats in rural areas.

Oxy-Van in Karnal:

• Oxy Forest was launched on Forest Department land in Mughal Canal, Karnal. Panchavati, trees of Bel, Amla, Ashoka, Banyan and Peepal were planted. It will be built on 80 acres area.

Oxy-Van in Panchkula:

• It will be established in Bir Ghaggar on the area of one hundred acres in a bid to create Mother Nature’s green lungs, for residents of Panchkula, to get in fresh oxygen. Rs One crore has been sanctioned for this initiative.

Indian Cricketer Sehwag launched cricket coaching website 'Cricuru'

• Indian star cricketer Virender Sehwag has launched an experiential learning portal for Cricket coaching named CRICURU. CRICURU is India’s first AI-enabled coaching website, to offer a personalised learning experience for the younger players. The website can be accessed at www.cricuru.com
• The curriculum for each player has been developed personally by Virender Sehwag along with former Indian Player and Batting Coach of the Indian Cricket team Sanjay Bangar (2015-19). Young players will be able to learn to play cricket through master classes by 30 player-coaches from across the globe like AB de Villiers, Brett Lee, Brian Lara, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh, Jonty Rhodes, who will share their experience and learning with users.

Antonio Guterres second five-year term as chief of the world organisation

• The UN Security Council has recommended Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for a second five-year term as chief of the world organisation beginning January 1, 2022.
• The 15-nation Council held a closed meeting where it unanimously adopted a resolution recommending Guterres’ name to the 193-member General Assembly for a second term as Secretary-General. Last month, India had conveyed its support to Guterres for his candidature as chief of the world body for a second term beginning January 2022.

CS Ghosh MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank

• The Reserve Bank of India has granted approval for the re-appointment of Chandra Shekhar Ghosh as MD and CEO of Bandhan Bank, for a period of three years. The re-appointment as above is subject to the approval of shareholders at the ensuing annual general meeting of the bank.
• Ghosh, who has been one of the foremost proponents of microfinance in India, founded Bandhan in 2001 as a not-for-profit enterprise that stood for financial inclusion and women empowerment through sustainable livelihood creation. He was at the forefront of its transformation into an NBFC-MFI and finally the universal bank.

• The winners of the BAFTA TV Awards 2021 were announced. QS World University Rankings 2022 released

• The London-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has released the QS World University Rankings 2022 which compares and ranks Universities from across the globe on various parameters. Eight Indian universities have found a place among the best 400 global universities in the QS World University Rankings 2022, released on June 09, 2021. However, only three Universities namely the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, IIT-Delhi, and IISc Bangalore feature among the top 200.
• IIT-Bombay is ranked as the best University in India with a rank of 177. It is followed by IIT-Delhi (185) and IISc (I86).
• The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has also been adjudged as “world’s top research university, achieving a perfect score of 100/100 for Citations Per Faculty (CPF) indicator, which measures research impact.
• This is the first time that any Indian institute has scored a perfect 100 in research or any other parameter.
