CTET 2019 Syllabus Important Topics (Paper-1)

Students appearing for Paper-1 Central Teacher Eligibility Test can check important topics for CTET in the table below:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: This subject focuses on the psychology of teaching the students of age  6-11 years. Candidates must have an understanding of the demands of diverse learners. 
  • Language I: Focuses on the language in which the teacher is conveying the teachings to students
  • Language II: Focuses on the language understanding of the individual. Language I will be different than that of II. One can select any 1 language as Language I and other as Language II from the language options provided and will be demanded to specify the same in the Confirmation Page
  • Mathematics and Environmental Studies: Focuses on the problem-solving abilities of the individual. Also, the understanding of the subjects which are a part of students' syllabus
  • Individuals will be asked questions from Class 1-5 (NCERT Level). The difficulty level will be that of secondary education

The important topics for CTET Paper-2 are given in the table below:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: Focuses on the way of one's teaching and how well they match the understanding the psychology of kids of age group 11-14 years

Is there any negative-marking in CTET Exam?

No, there is no negative marking applicable in CTET Exam.

Is CTET Exam tough?

CTET Exam is moderately tough. Candidates can find a little bit toughness in Child Pedagogy subject. Rest of the subjects can be easily attempted. Students should go through the NCERT Books of Class 1-8.

Is coaching necessary for CTET?

No, there is no requirement for coaching in CTET. One can prepare themselves by making a study plan for them and sticking to it. It is very important to understand the syllabus and exam pattern in order to crack CTET. Also, one must solve 1 mock test and 1 previous year question paper every day to crack the exam

What is the passing marks for CTET Exam?

 The minimum qualifying score for CTET for general category candidates is 60%. Students who get it will be considered as CTET Pass.

Is B.Ed necessary for CTET Exam?

Yes, B.Ed is necessary for those candidates who want to appear for Paper-2. The Paper-2 is for those candidates who want to be teachers for up to 8th standard. For the individuals who want to become a primary teacher, they do not require B.Ed.

How many times can I attempt for CTET Exam?

There are no restrictions on the number of attempts in CTET Exam. Candidates can apply for multiple times.

What can we do after qualifying CTET?

Once, you have cleared CTET Exam, you can become a government school teacher. If one is not selected in CBSE, they can get a job in other government and private schools as Primary and Elementary Level Teachers.

How many times CTET is conducted a year?

CTET Exam is conducted two times every year. The exam level is moderately difficult and is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

What is the difference between CTET and TET?

The CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test whereas TET stands for Teacher Eligibility Test. Individuals who want to become Government School Primary and Elementary level school teachers must appear in these exams. The difference (only) between CTET and TET is that TET is state-level paper.

Who can apply for CTET?

If you want to become a primary level school teacher, then you can apply for CTET Paper-1. It requires you to have 12th standard original certificate from a recognized board with at least 50% marks.

Those who want to become elementary level school teachers, they must have a B.Ed Degree. They must apply for Paper-2 and qualify it with 60% marks to become a government school teacher.

Can engineer give Ctet exam?

Yes, engineers can give CTET Exam. Once your B.Tech is done, fill the application form and wait for its approval. 

What is the age limit for teacher job?

Students who want to apply for a teacher's job must be between 27-40 years of age. But in CTET, there is no upper age limit. Candidates must be 17 years old.

What is the salary of CBSE teacher?

The basic salary is INR 34,800 per month. INR 4,200 is provided as grade pay. The salary of high school teachers lies between INR 1,12,937 and INR 4, 94,464 annually.
