The National Law University, Delhi, has revised the paper pattern for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) PG program for the academic year. Yes, you read it right!

As per the new pattern, the AILET LLM question paper will have both objective and subjective type questions, and the number of questions has been reduced from 150 to 102.

AILET 2024 Exam Pattern for LLM

As said above, the university has changed the exam pattern for the AILET PG Exam 2024. The new paper pattern for the LLM programs will have two sections: Section A and Section B.

Section A is again divided into two parts: 

• Part 1: English language
• Part 2: Legal reasoning

In section A, there will be 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. Also, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrongly answered question in section A.

Section B will have eight to ten descriptive questions from different branches of law. However, you will have to answer only two descriptive questions.

AILET PG Exam Pattern 2024: Section-wise Marks Distribution

The AILET LLM question paper 2024 will have two sections: Section A will hold 100 marks, whereas section B includes 50 marks.

The university will prepare a list consisting of three times the number of seats for each category, taking into account the reservation policy of the University, based on total marks secured in Section A. 

According to the official notification, the exam conducting body will evaluate Section B only if your name is present on the list. However, the final rank list is prepared based on the marks scored in both Section A and Section B.

AILET LLM Exam Pattern 2024: Marking Scheme

In the AILET PG exam, there is a negative marking only for Section A. You will lose 0.25 marks for each wrong answer, which means four wrong answers will lead to a 4 marks deduction.

For every correct answer, you will get a +1 mark. Look at the table below to know the AILET PG marking scheme.

AILET LLM Exam Pattern 2024: Tie-Breaking Procedure

If you and other students scored the same marks in the All India Law Entrance Test for PG programs, the following procedure would be considered while preparing the final merit list.

• Aspirants of old age shall get a higher preference.
• If still, the scores are the same, authorities shall consider a computerized draw of lots to prepare the merit list.
